    I found one high-severity bug. The demo's main action stalls on real data: the live signal is wrongly rejected about every other poll. The site is otherwise close to the brief, and nothing in the repository was changed. The finding is in .imd-findings.json.

    The one failed probe check. It flagged the header's "Connect" wallet button as a label sitting above the heading. That's the normal wallet button in a dapp header, so it isn't a finding.

    Finding

    High. bug: an unchanged status reading is rejected as "replayed", so the honest live signal pauses incubation most of the time (src/rules.ts:106)

    • Now: the site asks the status API for a reading every 4 s, but the API only publishes a new one about every 10 s. Getting the same reading twice counts as "replayed". The site then drops the reading and pauses, which also triggers the 3-second recovery wait and slows polling.
    • Change to: treat a repeated reading with the same timestamp and the same values as unchanged rather than replayed. Keep it, add no work and leave the polling interval alone. Only reject an older reading, or one whose values changed under the same timestamp.
    • Why: the brief asks for "60 valid active seconds" and to "retain last accepted baseline across failures".
    • Evidence: at 390 wide in Chromium, with the real API online, I got a demo egg, pressed Incubate and watched for 40 s. The panel showed "Signal unavailable" with "An older or repeated reading was replayed" at 2.0, 12.7, 27.4 and 38.0 s, about 6 s each time. The timer only went from 1:00 to 0:51, so 9 counted seconds out of 40. WebKit behaved the same way.

    Requirements

    1. Status and demo

    • Status line ("NFT minting is not live yet…") and intro text, exact wording: met, in .hero in src/app.ts.
    • No invented dates or supply: met.

    • Supply cap set at initialization, one free claim per wallet, owner-only one-time hatch, same token ID: met, contracts/SqueekHatchery.sol.
    • Transfers don't reset claims; operators can't hatch: met (hasClaimed is per address; ownerOf(id) != msg.sender check).
    • UUPS: locked implementation, atomic proxy initialization, owner-only upgrades, two-step admin transfer, admin chosen by the user: met (_disableInitializers, initialize(admin, cap), Ownable2Step, _authorizeUpgrade onlyOwner).

      Now: poll() fetches the status API every 4 s, but the API publishes a new measurement only about every 10 s. A second fetch of the same measurement has observedAt equal to the baseline, so validateStatus throws SignalError("replayed"). The catch in src/app.ts:291-300 then sets reading = null, clears resumeAt and backs off pollDelay x1.6, so incubation pauses with "Signal unavailable / An older or repeated reading was replayed".

      After the next new measurement it waits 3 more seconds to recover.

      Change to: treat observed === previous.observedAt with the same counterEpoch, work and distance as an unchanged reading, not a replay. Keep the current reading, add no work and do not touch pollDelay. Throw "replayed" only when observed < previous.observedAt, or when equal timestamps carry different values. liveReading()'s 15 s freshness cap still pauses on a genuinely stale feed.

      Why: the brief asks for "Incubate (60 valid active seconds)", "Reject missing/stale/faulted/simulated/replayed data; retain last accepted baseline across failures" and "Recovery waits 3s". Fresh hardware data is being marked replayed and the demo's main action stalls.

      Width 390, Chromium, dist served locally, live https://api.squeekchain.com/v1/status (coreStatus IDLE, observedAt advancing every ~10 s: 04:45:09.974, 04:45:19.975, 04:45:29.982).

      Steps: Get demo egg, Incubate, then sample #signal-pill, #signal-state and #timer every 250 ms for 40 s.

      Measured: at 2.0 s, 12.7 s, 27.4 s and 38.0 s the pill shows "Signal unavailable" with "An older or repeated reading was replayed", each time for about 6 s before recovery.

      The timer went from 1:00 to 0:51 in 40 s of wall time, so 9 valid seconds out of 40 on an online hardware feed.

      Expected: the timer drops about 1 s per second while the feed is online, and the pill never says replayed for an unchanged reading.

    Fixed the false replay pauses and rebuilt dist/. The live-feed check improved from 9 to 39 countdown seconds in 40 seconds, with zero false replay errors.

    Typecheck, build, 14 unit tests and 13 Chromium scenarios passed. Recorded the finding response in .imd-responses.json and evidence in VALIDATION.md.

    WebKit was unavailable. No public deployment occurred.

    The previous replay bug is fixed. Identical fresh observations retain the accepted reading in [rules]; [app] preserves polling cadence and adds no duplicate work.

    At 390px, live Chromium and WebKit runs each received six duplicate responses with zero replay errors. Both hatched the original card at exactly 60 active seconds and preserved it after reload. Genuine stale readings still paused incubation.

    Checks passed: 14 rules tests, the local contract scenario with 43 rejection checks, export integrity, and 13 Chromium scenarios. The original browser harness exceeded its nominal 40-second assertion because its clock advances between steps; an external review copy comparing against measured clock time passed. Site source remained unchanged.

    The visual idea is a stationary cream egg whose movable lamp reveals the hamster developing inside.
