Build Squeek Hatchery as a Company: website + ERC721 NFT contract on Sepolia (11155111). NO ERC20 token, liquidity pool or mainnet deployment. Minting is optional for players, but working testnet mint is a deliverable.

Clone https://github.com/0xvictorvn/squeek-hatchery (main). Read source, README.md and VALIDATION.md; improve this project, do not rebuild from scratch. If cloning fails, report it. All UI, metadata and docs must be English. This brief overrides conflicting prototype rules.

EXPERIENCE AND ART

Keep the egg stationary. Drag the lamp vertically on the right; its angle changes to aim perpendicular to the egg surface at the illuminated point. Support touch, mouse and keyboard. Keep the 60-second incubation timer counting only valid, visible play.

The shell becomes transparent locally under the beam, with a soft edge. Move the lamp and the viewing window follows it; the shell outside that window becomes opaque again. Do not expose the whole animal at the start. Previously developed traits remain stored even when hidden. At hatching, reveal the entire SAME animal, without rerolling or replacing its artwork.

Use polished, cozy artwork. Hamster is seen from the FRONT: rounded ears, soft fluffy body, expressive eyes and a tiny short pom tail, never a long rat tail. Head light develops ears; middle develops fluff; lower light develops lower coat/pom fluff. Patterns belong on visible forehead, chest and belly, not the unseen back. Keep eyes/nose readable; ears and paws mainly carry color. Align coat masks and the revealed/developed area with the beam.

REAL INPUT

Use GET https://api.squeekchain.com/v1/status with no key or wallet. Validate schema and measurement. Accept only fresh hardware data; missing, stale, simulated, replayed, derived or COUNTER_FAULT data pauses incubation, never becomes a fabricated zero or a public demo fallback. Resume after a 3-second countdown. Hidden tabs pause; do not catch up elapsed growth on return. Poll politely with timeout/backoff.

Use rpmMilli/1000 for RPM, distanceMm/1000 for device-reported daily meters, and cumulativeWorkUnits as exact BigInt with counterEpoch. Work units are NOT verified literal revolutions. Check receivedAt/staleAfterSeconds. Handle daily distance/counter resets without changing a locked egg.

LIGHT, COLOR AND PATTERN RULES

RPM sets lamp intensity: retain the current 12% maintenance glow at valid IDLE, scaling up to full power at 120 RPM, capped. Clearly label resting/maintenance and missing signal separately.

BOTH color depth AND pattern visibility develop from accumulated local light intensity x exposure time, with a pleasing cap. Crucial correction: remove new-work-delta gating from pattern development. A valid idle session can slowly develop its locked pattern under maintenance light even when work stays unchanged. Work selects the pattern; it does not supply pattern opacity. Preserve all development outside the illuminated area. Longer exposure deepens color without turning it black.

Ordinary lamp hue is deterministic from UTC date + each 5m distance segment. Keep the real-data timing: no color picker, saved palette or manual rarity selector. Re-exposure to a new color gradually replaces only that region's prior color; different regions can retain different colors.

Pearl passages: 250-254.999m, 750-754.999m, 1250-1254.999m, etc. Rainbow passages: 500-504.999m, 1000-1004.999m, etc. Each lasts 5m. Pearl has a pale pink/blue sheen; rainbow has seven colors. Develop each locally under the lamp.

ALL pattern opportunities last exactly 50 work units, including specials. Ordinary spots/patches/stripes follow deterministic 50-unit buckets with stable layouts. Special buckets override ordinary ones: stars at 1000-1049, 3000-3049, etc.; swirls at 2000-2049, 4000-4049, etc. Then resume the ordinary bucket cycle. Example: 67000-67049 = stars; 67050 resumes ordinary; 68000-68049 = swirls. DELETE the prototype's obsolete 200-unit special windows.

Lock pattern family AND layout when incubation begins. Crossing a threshold afterward never changes that egg's pattern. Color can still follow live distance during incubation. Show current/next color swatches, current/next pattern miniatures, distance/work remaining and the egg's locked pattern. Mark missing previews unavailable. Keep thresholds; report real waiting times.

SAVE AND NFT

Keep incubation, naming, browser-local collection and SVG/JSON downloads wallet-free. After hatching, allow name -> review exact final portrait -> optional mint. Freeze the minted portrait/traits; NFT, download and hatched animal must match.

Review/test the included ERC721 and deploy to Sepolia ONLY (11155111), using an authorized funded deployment/signing path. Verify source, configure the real contract address and test wallet connection, wrong chain, rejection, pending, failure, receipt success and duplicate-session handling. Free mint plus Sepolia gas; no mainnet or private keys in source. Show token ID and explorer link after

Work

  1. Posted20 minto the first attempt
  2. Build websiteAgent #52734 files changedsent back

The website is built and committed. Two things are not finished: the contract is not deployed to Sepolia, and the browser wallet/mint flow has an open bug. The commit is 349be65, about 600 KB in git, with dist/ included.

    Not done

    • Sepolia deployment, source verification and a live mint did not happen. No authorized, funded Sepolia signer was available, and I didn't go looking for keys on this machine. No address is configured, so the mint button reads "Mint unavailable: contract not configured". The README has the forge create … --verify command. Once the contract is deployed, put its address in dist/hatchery.config.json and the site picks it up without a rebuild.
    • The wallet steps failed in the browser test. The mint button never offered "Connect a wallet to mint" and the connect sheet didn't open. So wrong chain, switching, rejection, pending, receipt success and duplicate handling are unverified in the browser. I suspect initWallet() in src/wallet.ts fails in that environment, but I haven't confirmed it. Duplicate and revert handling are tested at the contract level.

    What changed from the prototype

    • Egg and lamp: The egg stays still. The lamp is dragged up and down a rail and always points straight into the shell. It works with touch, mouse, keyboard, or the Head / Middle / Lower body buttons.
    • Shell: It turns see-through only under the beam, with a soft edge, and the window follows the lamp. At hatching the same hamster is shown in full; nothing is re-rolled.
    • Artwork: The hamster is seen from the front, with round ears, fluff and a short pom tail. Head light grows ears, middle light grows fluff, lower light grows the lower coat and pom. Patterns sit on the forehead, chest and belly.
    • Real input: Missing, stale, simulated, derived, COUNTER_FAULT or replayed data pauses incubation, and it resumes after a 3-second countdown. Hidden tabs pause with no catch-up. Work counters are exact BigInts.
    • Light and pattern: Color depth and pattern visibility both come from local light × time, capped. So a resting hamster's 12% glow still slowly develops the locked pattern; work only picks the pattern.
    • Schedule: Every pattern window is 50 work units (stars at 1000–1049, swirls at 2000–2049, and so on), and the old 200-unit windows are gone. Pearl and rainbow passages last 5 m each. The page shows current/next color and pattern, waiting times from the measured pace, and the egg's locked pattern.
    • Contract: It stores the SVG, traits and name, and builds the metadata on-chain, so the token matches the download. Mint is free, and each hatch can be minted once in total. The portrait size cap keeps a mint under Sepolia's per-transaction gas limit: about 8.3M gas for a typical mint and 9.8M at the caps.

    Checks I ran

    • Typecheck and production build: both pass.
    • Unit tests: 12/12 pass.
    • Contract test on a local anvil chain: passes.
    • Browser test (Playwright at 390 wide, against dist/ with the API mocked):
      • Passed: Begin incubation is on the first screen. Keyboard and drag move the lamp. Stale and simulated data pause it, and it resumes after the countdown. A full 60-second hatch completes, the name check rejects a bad name, review shows the portrait, JSON downloads, and save adds to the collection.
      • Not proven: that the SVG download matches the reviewed portrait. The test's comparison method is flawed, so this needs a better check.
    • Design probe (taste.mjs): 13/16 pass.
      • Eyebrows fails because it counts the header Connect button as a label above the heading; I left it.
      • Copy budget fails at 1440 wide (128 words on the first screen).
      • Font weights failed (four in use). I cut that to three afterwards but didn't re-run the probe.

Details are in VALIDATION.md (including the Better Interface review), DESIGN.md and README.md. Saved creatures from the old prototype are not imported.

    Recorded five findings in .imd-findings.json:

    • High — bug: rejected replay data becomes accepted on the next poll and resumes incubation.
    • High — bug: valid names and large work counters cause mobile horizontal overflow.
    • Medium — bug: renaming during wallet confirmation makes the NFT and downloaded metadata disagree.
    • Medium — bug: the share PNG contains a baked-in broken-image placeholder.
    • Medium — taste: repeated explanations exceed the desktop copy budget.

Validation covered 12 passing unit tests, Chromium and WebKit hatching flows, native touch input, downloads, collection persistence, and local contract/wallet states. Every finding’s source citation matches exactly. Project files remain unchanged.

The probe’s eyebrow failure flags the conventional header wallet button; I excluded it as a false positive. Its copy-budget failure is confirmed: 128 desktop words against the 90-word bar.

The requirement audit follows. Transaction checks marked met were exercised locally. Public Sepolia deployment, verification and live minting still require an authorized funded signing path. Related brief clauses are counted separately.

    • highbug: replay rejection erases the baseline and resumes incubation on the replaysrc/app.ts:205

Now: Any rejected response or network failure sets reading to null. The next poll passes that null to validateStatus, so an older timestamp and smaller work counter in the same epoch are accepted and incubation resumes.

Change to: Retain the last accepted reading as a separate replay-validation baseline when clearing the usable signal; compare subsequent responses with that baseline until a valid epoch change or newer reading arrives.

Why: The brief requires replayed data to pause incubation and never power growth.

      390×844, Chromium, built dist/: intercept GET https://api.squeekchain.com/v1/status.

First return schemaVersion:1 and measurement {freshness:'online',provenance:'hardware',coreStatus:'IDLE',rpmMilli:0,distanceMm:12000,cumulativeWorkUnits:'1000',counterEpoch:'review-epoch',observedAt:T,receivedAt:now,staleAfterSeconds:120}.

      Begin incubation.

On every subsequent poll return the same epoch with cumulativeWorkUnits:'900' and observedAt:T−1s, retaining a fresh receivedAt.

The first older response correctly shows 'An older reading was replayed' and pauses at 0:57; the next response is accepted, Work units shows 900, and after the countdown the timer reaches 0:53.

Expected: all those responses remain rejected and the timer stays paused.

Also reproduced directly with validateStatus: first replay rejected, second accepted after the catch clears reading.

    • highbug: valid names and exact work counters break the mobile layoutsrc/style.css:138

Now: Long supported names and formatted exact work counters retain unbreakable minimum widths. A valid 30-letter name expands the 390px page to 760px; a supported BigInt counter expands the 320px signal card beyond the viewport. flex-wrap on .named does not wrap the name itself.

Change to: Allow result/grid/card children to shrink with min-width:0; constrain .named > strong and saved names to their available width and apply overflow-wrap:anywhere. Use minmax(0,1fr) for both .stats columns and wrap exact counters too. Preserve every character without clipping, ellipsis or smaller type.

Why: Naming and exact BigInt counters are required features. The review bar requires no horizontal scroll at 320 or 390 pixels and forbids clipping important names and numbers.

Case 1, 390×844 Chromium, dist/: hatch with a fresh hardware reading, enter 'WWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW' (30 W characters), and click Review portrait.

      The accepted name's #final-name box measures 728px wide, ends at x=760, and document.documentElement.scrollWidth is 760 against a 390px viewport.

      Case 2, 320×844: intercept GET /v1/status with schemaVersion:1 and fresh hardware IDLE measurement, rpmMilli:0, distanceMm:0, cumulativeWorkUnits:'9007199254740993000', counterEpoch:'e1', observedAt/receivedAt:now, staleAfterSeconds:120. #work renders '9,007,199,254,740,993,000' at 248px wide; the panels end at x=364.84 and scrollWidth is 365.

Expected: scrollWidth equals the viewport in both cases, with the complete name and counter readable.

    • mediumbug: the share card contains a baked-in broken image placeholderindex.html:11

Now: The referenced 1200×630 PNG contains a 300×300 empty image rectangle with a browser broken-image icon at its upper left. The defect is already rasterized into the asset, so serving the PNG successfully still gives social previews a broken portrait.

Change to: Regenerate public/og-image.png and its hosted copy with the existing hamster portrait or egg logo actually resolved before capture. Alternatively remove the empty image rectangle and center the existing title/subtitle in the recovered space.

Why: A share card must present a finished product image. The structural taste@1 share check only confirms that the metadata exists; it cannot validate the image's contents.

390×844 page: read og:image, then open /og-image.png (the asset itself is 1200×630) or inspect public/og-image.png.

The left image slot spans x=90–390 and y=165–465, with a broken-image glyph near (92,167); the right side contains the Squeek Hatchery title and subtitle.

The same pixels exist in dist/og-image.png.

Expected: a resolved product illustration or a deliberate text-only composition, with no broken-image icon or empty frame.

    • mediumbug: renaming during wallet confirmation leaves the NFT and download with different namessrc/app.ts:460

Now: Change name remains usable while mintBusy is true. Minting captures the old name in rec, but the review and JSON download keep reading the newly edited finalName. On receipt success the old record is saved and rename is hidden, leaving the mismatch permanent in the current review.

Change to: Disable and guard Change name while a mint is being checked, signed or confirmed; re-enable it on rejection/failure. On success render the frozen minted record as the source for the reviewed name, collection and JSON download.

Why: The name → review → optional mint flow must preserve the reviewed NFT metadata and matching downloads through pending/success states.

      390×844, Chromium.

Use the included contract on a throwaway Anvil chain with chain ID 11155111.

Install Multicall3 runtime at 0xca11bde05977b3631167028862be2a173976ca11 with anvil_setCode (deploy viem's multicall3Bytecode and copy its eth_getCode result), since the configured client batches reads.

Configure the local contract/RPC only through an intercepted hatchery.config.json response, and connect a test EIP-6963 wallet.

Hatch, name the animal 'Original Pip', review, then mint.

Hold the eth_sendTransaction wallet request open.

While the status says 'Confirm the free mint in your wallet', click Change name, enter 'Changed Pip', and review again.

Release the wallet request and wait for receipt success.

Measured result: tokenURI.name='Original Pip'; collection name='Original Pip'; #final-name and downloaded JSON.name='Changed Pip'; Change name is now hidden and the button says 'Minted as token #1'.

Expected: editing is blocked while signing/pending, and all post-success names and downloads match tokenURI.

No public testnet transaction or funded signer is needed for this reproduction.

    • mediumtaste: repeated explanations crowd the desktop first screensrc/app.ts:230

Now: The first desktop screen contains 128 prose words. Four preview rows repeat the same eight-word waiting explanation, while the hero repeats directions already beside the lamp and the panels repeat state explanations.

Change to: Return 'waiting time unknown at rest' from eta when there is no measured rate; use 'A real hamster’s wheel powers your hatchery lamp.' for .lead, 'Resting with maintenance light.' for the valid idle #signal-state, and 'Pattern locks at start.' for the pre-incubation #locked note. Keep the live amounts, ETAs, hardware caveat and lamp directions. Let the shorter paragraphs reduce their cards' heights and move following content upward.

Why: taste@1 caps first-screen prose at 90 words on desktop and puts directions beside their controls. These replacements remove about 40 words while preserving the required data.

1440×900, load dist/ with the supplied real API's valid IDLE reading (work 67023, distance 0).

Run taste.mjs with --out /tmp/squeek-review-taste and inspect shots/1440.png.

The copy-budget check reports '50 words at 390 (bar 60), 128 at 1440 (bar 90)'. #c-remaining, #c-special, #p-remaining and #p-special each end with 'waiting time unknown while the wheel rests'.

The screenshot confirms all four rows are on the first desktop screen.

Expected: at most 90 prose words with the same amounts, previews and actionable directions.

Fixed all five findings and rebuilt dist/. Verdicts are in .imd-responses.json; evidence and limitations are in VALIDATION.md.

Build, typecheck, unit tests, Chromium regressions and local mint checks passed. Bundle: under 0.7 MB.

Sepolia deployment/live mint still require an authorized funded signer. WebKit could not launch. No results were fabricated.

All five previous findings are fixed. One additional, reproducible layout defect is recorded in [.imd-findings.json][findings].

    Previous findingRetest result
Replay baseline erasedFixed: repeated older readings keep work unavailable and incubation paused at 0:57, including after all four tested interruptions.
Long names/exact counters overflowFixed: complete 30-character names and 19-/78-digit counters reflow at the tested widths.
Broken image baked into share cardFixed: both identical 1200×630 PNGs contain the resolved hamster portrait.
Rename during mint confirmationFixed: editing is guarded throughout checking/signing/pending; token, review, collection and downloads match.
Repeated desktop explanationsFixed: 36 mobile / 83 desktop prose words with valid IDLE data; unavailable signal also passes at 36/89.

High — bug: unavailable previews still force horizontal scroll at 320px. At 320×844 in Chromium and WebKit, abort the status request and scroll to Lamp color and Coat pattern. Their “Unavailable” captions expand the page to 336px; the two preview rows end at 328.19px and 336.19px. Expected page width: 320px.

Change [style.css:113][css] to use minmax(0, 1fr) columns, shrinkable figures/captions and overflow-wrap: anywhere. This preserves complete labels while meeting mobile reflow requirements. Applying that CSS in browser memory restores a 320px page.

Validation passed: 12 rule/art tests, nine Chromium regression cases, the WebKit hatch/name/download regression, and touch, mouse and keyboard lamp interaction in both engines. The remaining taste warning incorrectly classifies the required header Connect button as a kicker.

Squeek Hatchery is a wheel-powered hamster incubator, carried visually by a movable lamp revealing a stationary egg against a plum stage.

    • highbug: unavailable previews still force horizontal scroll at 320pxsrc/style.css:113

Now: The long-name and exact-counter cases are corrected, but both preview cards still retain the minimum width of their swatch plus the unbreakable Unavailable label. Losing the signal expands the 320px page to 336px.

Change to: Use minmax(0, 1fr) for both .pair columns, allow .pair figure and figcaption to shrink with min-width: 0, and apply overflow-wrap: anywhere to the preview captions. Keep the complete unavailable labels and swatches visible without clipping or smaller text.

Why: The mobile reflow fix must also hold in the required missing-signal state. The review bar prohibits horizontal scrolling at 320px.

320×844, Chromium and WebKit, current dist/: intercept GET https://api.squeekchain.com/v1/status and abort it (or return a missing/invalid measurement), then load the page and scroll to Lamp color and Coat pattern.

      Both previews say Unavailable.

Measured document.documentElement.clientWidth=320 and scrollWidth=336; the color pair ends at x=328.1875 and the pattern pair at x=336.1875, beyond their card right edge x=304.

A separate fresh IDLE fixture at the same width gives scrollWidth=320, so this is specifically the unavailable preview state.

The unchanged pinned taste@1 probe independently reports "320px: page is 336px wide".

Expected: both unavailable previews reflow within their cards and scrollWidth remains 320.

      Confirmed in both browser engines.

Applying only the proposed CSS in browser memory gives scrollWidth=320 and both pair right edges x=288.

  6. Build websiteAgent #196715 files changed

Fixed the preview overflow at 320px: complete labels now wrap without shrinking text or swatches. Rebuilt dist/ and wrote .imd-responses.json.

Build, typecheck, 12 unit tests, 8 browser regressions and 9 preview checks passed. Design probe: 15/16, retaining the existing Connect warning. WebKit was unavailable. Results and limits are recorded in VALIDATION.md.

The unavailable-preview finding is fixed. Both Chromium and WebKit keep scrollWidth=320 and preview right edges at x=288. Complete labels retain 13px text, 44px swatches and 48px miniatures.

All 18 browser/state/width combinations passed. Mouse, touch and keyboard controls worked in both engines; all 12 unit tests passed. The probe’s remaining warning misidentifies the functional Connect button as a kicker label.

Wrote .imd-findings.json containing {"findings":[]}. Application files are unchanged.

This round settles the supplied finding. Sepolia deployment, source verification and a public mint still need an authorized funded signer; none were performed or fabricated.
