The whole request

make the site more interactive like this https://crawlscan.fun/ and also give it a darkmode option. make the website overall more themed about what this project is, not this basic thing you just deployed.

Work

  1. Posted24 minto the first attempt
  2. Build websiteAgent #187134 files changed

Final checks are done: the export is newer than every source file, asset URLs are relative, and nothing stray is untracked. Wrapping up.

Done. The Swarmlers site is now themed around the collection, interactive in the spirit of crawlscan.fun, and has a persisted dark/light toggle. The export in dist/ was rebuilt after the last source change and validated.

    What changed

    • Theme: dark by default on the art's own ground, light option behind a sun/moon button in the header. The choice is stored and applied before first paint, so there is no flash.
    • Hero: six-word headline with the mint card beside it, over an animated spider web whose crawlers are coloured like the next Swarmlers in line. It leans toward the pointer, pauses off screen, and draws a still frame under reduced motion.
    • Inspect any Swarmler: a port of the contract's art rules draws any ID from 1 to 2,500 instantly. Minted IDs add live holder, pairing, earned and claimable reads. Chips show the next IDs in line, and meters show minted-of-total per rarity tier with the next ID of each tier. Gallery tiles, chips and feed rows all open the inspector.
    • On the web: a live event feed read from the chain in 10,000-block chunks, refreshed every 20 seconds. It already shows the owner's live configuration and the mint of #26 that happened during the run.
    • Vitals strip: minted, reserve, paid out and reward clock with count-up counters and a supply meter.
    • Favicon and OG image regenerated in the new palette. All earlier flows (mint, claim, pair, rewards, swap, hook, owner) are kept.

    Checks run (recorded in docs/FRONTEND_VALIDATION.md)

    • Typecheck clean. 22 unit tests pass, including the art port, which is byte-identical to the live on-chain SVG for five sampled tokens.
    • Design probe: 16 of 16 on the dark default and 16 of 16 on a forced-light copy. The first run flagged two nested-card cases in the hero and feed, both fixed.
    • Interaction script with a mocked wallet: theme toggle by keyboard with persistence, inspector, chips, gallery, feed, nav anchors, canvas motion gating, no horizontal scroll at 320 and 390, mint button inside the first screen at 390, 25 held Swarmlers listed, approve flow to a wallet rejection and recovery, eligibility preflight, swap quote, no console errors.

Limitations: the MCP browser tool could not launch (no Chrome build installed), so rendered checks used Playwright's Chromium. No real transaction was broadcast. Text over the hero canvas was not contrast-measured by the probe. Screen readers, Safari and native zoom were not exercised.

Docs: DESIGN.md at the repository root documents the final tokens, typography, components and responsive behaviour. The root README gained a website section with install, preview and rebuild commands. Nothing was committed; the working tree holds source, lockfile and export together for the plane to bundle.

The review is complete. Findings are in .imd-findings.json and all three snippets verify against the tree. The scratch directory is removed and the working tree is clean apart from the findings file.

    Requirements

    • "make the site more interactive like crawlscan.fun": met. The hero web leans toward the pointer with six crawlers walking it (WebCanvas.tsx), the stats count up on first view, the next-in-line chips, gallery tiles and feed rows open the inspector at that ID, and the inspector draws any of the 2,500 IDs locally. The crawlscan.fun comparison is someone else's site and was not judged.
    • "give it a darkmode option": met. One header toggle switches the html data-theme, the choice persists in local storage and is applied before first paint, and the theme-color meta follows it. Dark is the default and light is the option.
    • "more themed about what this project is": met. The page ground is the on-chain art ground, the brand mark is a spider, the hero is a spun web with crawlers coloured like the next IDs, and the rarity meters and chips come from the ported art rules.

The idea in one sentence: a mint page for on-chain spider-crawler NFTs, carried by one device, the amber web drawn on the same dark ground the art itself uses.

    Findings

    • Medium, taste: at 1440 the hero copy column is capped at 292px by a 34ch max-width measured in the 15px body font, so the 48px headline breaks into five lines at the hyphen. Delete the max-width line in index.css and the headline fills its 550px column.
    • Medium, accessibility: with no wallet extension the enabled Connect wallet button does nothing visible, and the only message is a visually hidden raw library string with a version number. Show the mapped error next to the button.
    • Low, taste: the hero crawlers keep 65% lightness in the light theme and nearly vanish on the near-white ground, while the strands already switch through tokens.

Not verified: WebKit did not run. The installed WebKit build needs two system libraries that require sudo, which this machine does not grant. The main interaction was walked in Chromium only, at 390 and 1440, in both themes. The page reads from the public RPC named in network.json and uses the deployment.json addresses on chain 1, so the contract wiring matches the handoff.

    • mediumtaste: the hero headline wraps to five lines at 1440 because its column is capped at 292pxweb/src/index.css:266

Now: .hero-copy has max-width: 34ch. ch is resolved in the element's own 15px body font, so the copy column is 292px wide while the hero grid gives it about 550px. At 1440 the 48px headline breaks at the hyphen into five lines ("Spider-" / "crawler" / "agents," / "drawn" / "on chain.") and the lead wraps into three short lines; the desktop first screen is dominated by a narrow stack of broken words beside an empty strip of web.

Change to: delete the max-width: 34ch line from .hero-copy (index.css:266). The headline then fills the grid column and wraps as "Spider-crawler agents," / "drawn on chain." (two or three lines at 48px); the lead keeps its own max-width: 44ch on .hero-copy p, so prose measure is unchanged. At 390 nothing moves, since the column is already narrower than 292px.

Why: the headline must stay the largest, tightest type on the page and read as one line of thought; a hyphenated word split across two lines on the first screen is the one place the brief's "more themed" hero is weakest.

Width 1440 (and any width from 720 up).

      Open dist/index.html, no interaction.

      Measured with Playwright Chromium: .hero-copy width 291.7px, h1 font-size 48px, h1 height / line-height = 5 lines.

Screenshot test/scratch/taste/shots/1440.png shows the five-line stack "Spider- / crawler / agents, / drawn / on chain." and the lead on three lines.

Expected: the headline on two or three lines across the ~550px column.

    • mediumaccessibility: Connect wallet fails silently when no browser wallet is present, and the only message is a hidden raw library errorweb/src/WalletButton.tsx:88

Now: with no wallet extension the header still shows an enabled "Connect wallet" button (wagmi lists its injected connector even when no provider exists). Pressing it does nothing visible; the connect error is rendered only in a visually-hidden live region, and its text is the raw wagmi message "Provider not found. Version: @wagmi/core@2.22.1". Sighted visitors get no feedback; screen-reader users hear a library version string.

Change to: render the error visibly with the site's own status component, in the panel's existing shape (<p className="status" role="alert">) under the header tools, and pass the error through describeError with one added mapping in web/src/errors.ts: /Provider not found/i -> "No browser wallet found. Install one, or open this page in your wallet's browser." Keep the wallet connector, the connectors list and the connect call as they are.

Why: the reference rule is that every state the main action reaches says what the app knows; a failed connect is the first state a wallet-less visitor hits, and the mint card's own hint ("Connect a wallet to mint.") sends them to this button.

      Width 390 (same at 1440).

Open dist/index.html in Chromium with no wallet extension (headless Playwright).

Click the header button labelled "Connect wallet".

Measured: .menu innerText becomes "Connect wallet\nProvider not found.

Version: @wagmi/core@2.22.1"; the added text is inside .visually-hidden, so the screenshot test/scratch/pw/chromium-390-wallet.png is identical to the page before the click.

Expected: a visible sentence next to the button saying no browser wallet was found and what to do.

    • lowtaste: the hero crawlers keep their dark-theme colours in the light theme and almost vanish on the light groundweb/src/WebCanvas.tsx:140

Now: each crawler on the hero web is drawn at a fixed 65% lightness. The strands and dots already switch through the --web-strand and --web-dots tokens, but the crawlers do not, so in the light theme a yellow or green crawler (hue 50 to 140 at 65% lightness) sits on #f4f5fa at roughly 1.3:1 to 1.6:1 and disappears; the one themed, moving element the brief asked for is only visible in dark.

Change to: read the lightness from a token the way the strand colour is read (strandColor() at WebCanvas.tsx:71): add --web-crawler-l: 65% to :root and --web-crawler-l: 42% to [data-theme='light'] in web/src/index.css next to --web-strand, and draw with hsl(${hue(c.id)},80%,var) using the read value. No new element, no new dependency; the same hue per ID is kept so the crawlers still match their IDs' art.

Why: the brief asks for a dark mode option and for the site to be themed around the project; the light theme is the option, and the crawlers are the theme, so they must survive the switch. Low because the canvas is decorative and aria-hidden.

      Width 390 or 1440.

Open dist/index.html, press the theme toggle once (stored choice becomes "light").

Screenshot test/scratch/pw/chromium-1440-light.png: the crawler at about x=748, y=245 is a faint yellow mark on the near-white ground; in test/scratch/pw/chromium-390-wallet.png the green crawler at x=97, y=303 is barely separable from the dotted ground.

Expected: crawlers as legible in light as the amber-brown strands are, as they are in the dark screenshot test/scratch/taste/shots/1440.png.
