The whole request

Turn the live SCOOP site into a real newspaper front page and finish the polish. Contracts, routes, addresses, ABIs and the facts in issue #1 stay as they are; change only the web app, its styles, assets and build, then republish under the same site name.

Layout of the front page

  1. A 12-column grid from 1024px up, 32px gutters, 1px ink rules between columns. The lead (Story of the day) spans 8 columns: headline, an italic deck, two or three short paragraphs with a drop cap, byline "By the swarm". A right rail of 4 columns holds Swarm numbers as big mono figures in a hairline box, so the space beside the headline is never empty. Under the lead, one ink graphic in black and red drawn from the issue data, such as a bar chart of the movers. Below that, New launches, Biggest movers and Gone quiet in three columns. The methodology becomes a small "How this issue was reported" note at the bottom of the page.
  2. Add optional "deck" and "body" (array of paragraphs) to the issue format, document them in web/README.md, and fill them for issue #1 using only facts already in issue #1. Items without them still render.
  3. Phones: lead, numbers, graphic, then the rest. At 390x844 the issue headline starts within the first 420px.

Type and masthead 4. Self-host the fonts in the bundle, no outside requests: Playfair Display 900 for the nameplate and headlines, Source Serif 4 for text, IBM Plex Mono for figures. Nameplate size clamp(64px, 22vw, 168px). Under it a folio line, "Vol. I · No. {n} · {weekday, date} · Ethereum edition", and drop the duplicate issue dateline. 5. Nav is one row at every width: Front · Archive · Advertise · Trade. 6. Remove the 3px red box that wraps the whole page after a route change: #main:focus{outline:none}. Focus rings stay on links, buttons and inputs. 7. Wallet status shows only inside the Book and Trade cards, never on the front page, archive or issue pages.

The ad slot 8. It looks like print advertising: thin double-rule frame, small-caps "ADVERTISEMENT", placed under the lead. Empty, it is a house ad: "Your coin on tomorrow's front page. {price} SCOOP a day, next free day {date}. Book", linking to #/book. Booked, it shows the token's symbol, the headline in display type and only the link's domain, marked "External link, not checked by SCOOP". 9. From 00:00 UTC until that day's issue is filed, the front page says "Today's issue is at the press. Here is the latest one." instead of "No issue filed".

Book and trade 10. Book: price in SCOOP and in IMD at the pool price, a "Get SCOOP" link to #/trade, a live preview of the ad while the form is typed, and the calendar built from the contract's bookingWindow() and currentDay(), falling back to the clock. 11. Trade: grouped numbers (354,200 SCOOP per IMD, never 3.542e+5), pool reserves instead of the raw liquidity integer, no USD row, each address once on the page, and enough precision that selling 1 SCOOP never shows "0 IMD" or "Minimum 0 IMD". Re-quote every 20 seconds and again right before the swap. 12. Disabled buttons are grey ink outlines, never faded red. 13. Phones without a wallet: under "No wallet found" add buttons that open this site in MetaMask (https://metamask.app.link/dapp/scoop.sites.imd.fun), Coinbase Wallet (https://go.cb-w.com/dapp?cb_url=https%3A%2F%2Fscoop.sites.imd.fun) and Trust Wallet (https://link.trustwallet.com/open_url?coin_id=60&url=https%3A%2F%2Fscoop.sites.imd.fun).

Plumbing 14. RPC: multicall3 0xcA11bde05977b3631167028862bE2a173976CA11 in the chain definition, JSON-RPC batches of 3 or fewer, and https://rpc.flashbots.net and https://rpc.mevblocker.io as more fallbacks. 15. Errors never show raw library text: "Could not reach Ethereum right now. Try again." with a retry. Validate every issue and index file before rendering and wrap the app in an error boundary. 16. Share card text: "WRITTEN BY THE SWARM. ON CHAIN." instead of "INDEPENDENT. ON CHAIN.", keeping the absolute og and twitter tags. 17. Archive: number column "#", no JSON developer note. Footer: label 387e2fe "Contract source" and add the site source repo identity-md-launches/launch-1383-workflow-frontend-stage-context.

Check every page at 390, 500 and 1440px against points 1, 3, 6, 7 and 11, run the tests, and add tests for 9, 11, 13 and 15.

Saved two findings to .imd-findings.json. No website files changed.

    • Medium — bug: booking accepts links that the ad silently discards. At 390, 500 and 1440px, entering https:// or a credential-bearing URL produces no link error, omits the preview link, and still reaches the simulated wallet. Reuse the renderer’s safeHttps validation before approval so advertisers cannot pay for a destination the site refuses to display. Source: web/src/lib/validate.ts:22.
    • Low — taste: the editorial type hierarchy uses four weights. At 390 and 1440px, computed weights are 400, 600, 700 and 900. Reuse 600 for current 700-weight labels and bylines to meet the three-weight bar while preserving the requested fonts. Source: web/src/styles.css:103.

The following assessment applies to the revised export. Publication remains missing: the public site still serves the earlier bundle, with its headline at 625.5px. The documented publisher runs after acceptance.

    • mediumbug: booking accepts links that the ad silently discardsweb/src/lib/validate.ts:22

Now: linkError accepts any printable string beginning with https://, including https:// and https://user:password@example.org/promo. AdCreative uses safeHttps instead, so both accepted values disappear from the preview and published advertisement, without a field error, while booking can proceed to the wallet.

Change to: for each nonempty link, require the same safeHttps validation used by AdCreative, retaining the contract's length and ASCII limits. Show 'Enter a complete HTTPS URL without a username or password, or leave this blank.' and block submission before approval when validation fails.

Why: a paid advertisement must not accept a destination that its own renderer refuses to display; the live preview should explain an invalid link before the advertiser spends SCOOP.

At 390x844, 500x844 and 1440x900, open #/book with the existing browser-test.mjs setup(width,{wallet:true}) fixture, connect, select the first available date, enter 0x7094b1ba79e7eb3fab7caa8aa9b45976cd120807 as the token and 'A coin with a link' as the headline.

Enter 'https://' as Link and click Approve and book; repeat with 'https://user:password@example.org/promo'.

Expected: a link error and zero wallet requests for each invalid destination.

Actual at all three widths: .ad-preview a count is 0, #link-err count is 0, #link aria-invalid is 'false', and each click increments the fixture's window.__sent by 1 (the fixture rejects the approval; no transaction is broadcast).

Directly calling linkError with either string returns null, while safeHttps returns null for both and AdCreative renders no link.

    • lowtaste: the editorial type hierarchy uses four weightsweb/src/styles.css:103

Now: the front page uses weight 400 for prose, 600 for figures, 700 for bylines and item labels, and 900 for headings. The 600/700 distinction adds a second emphasis weight across an otherwise consistent three-family newspaper system.

Change to: reuse weight 600 for the current 700-weight text selectors, including .issue__byline, .swarm-stat__label, .item__token and .house-book; retain 400 for prose and the required 900 for display headings.

Why: this meets the taste@1 limit of three weights without changing the requested fonts, content or layout.

At 390x844 and 1440x900, open #/ and allow bundled fonts to load.

      Inspect computed font-weight for .issue__body p (400), .swarm-stat__figure (600), .issue__byline/.swarm-stat__label (700), and #issue-headline (900).

      Run IMD_PLAYWRIGHT=/path/to/playwright/index.mjs node .imd/reads/skills/design-critic/scripts/taste.mjs --out /tmp/scoop-taste: type-faces reports 'families (3): playfair display, source serif 4, ibm plex mono' and 'weights (4): 400, 600, 700, 900'.

Expected: at most three weights; actual: four.

The screenshots confirm these roles appear together in the same editorial layout.
