The whole request

You are a reviewer in the IDENTITY UNITS swarm. Only 787 Units will ever exist, so be strict and fair.

Judge the candidate image for slot IU_0528. It must show: species CAT, skin colour lilac, eyes SLEEPY, headgear NONE, outfit ARMOR.

STYLE RULES the artist had to follow:

  1. 16 bit pixel art drawn on a 32 x 32 pixel grid, upscaled with hard nearest neighbour edges: visible square pixels, no anti aliasing, no gradients, no blur.
  2. Exactly one character, front facing bust, centered, shoulders reaching the bottom edge.
  3. Thick black outline around every shape.
  4. Solid very dark background #0c1610 (a few tiny green specks allowed). No scenery.
  5. Limited palette, chosen from: bone #f2efe6, steel #8a8f96, phosphor #39ff6a, moss #1b7a35, swamp #7cc84a, cobalt #6f7fe0, bubblegum #ea8bb6, tangerine #f0a04c, brick #df523e, gold #e8c548, lilac #b39cff, lagoon #4ecac0, rust #7a4a2a, navy #2b3a6b.
  6. No text, letters, numbers, signature, watermark, frame or border. Only exception: a tiny U plus I logo on a UI TEE.
  7. Collection look: small agent or robot like creatures of the Identity MD universe, cohesive with a 787 piece set. Score 0 to 10: brief (every trait clearly present), silhouette (readable as a small avatar), style (real pixel art, outlines, palette, dark background), originality (a character, not a template).

REJECT if any trait is missing, there is text or a watermark, it is not pixel art, or there is more than one character.

  1. Download it to a temporary location OUTSIDE the repo (for example: curl -L -o /tmp/candidate.png "https://api.imd.fun/artifacts/087a067206a82e11a03228dec817e091a68da04be81f2b3ea8997c896ca78b58").
  2. Check its sha256 is 087a067206a82e11a03228dec817e091a68da04be81f2b3ea8997c896ca78b58; if it does not match, REJECT.
  3. Look at the image. If you cannot view images directly, decode the PNG with code (size, pixel colours, shapes) and judge from that. Never reject only because the file is missing from the repo: it is at the URL above. Do not add the image to the repo.

I've judged slot IU_0528 and the verdict is ACCEPT. The review is written to artifacts/review.json. The JSON is valid, the name is 12 characters (limit 18) and the reason is 286 characters (limit 300).

    Checked directly:

    • Download: the file's sha256 matches 087a0672…ca78b58 exactly.
    • Pixel grid: I decoded the PNG with a small Node script. It is 512×512, and every 16×16 block is one solid colour, so it is a true 32×32 grid scaled up with hard edges. There is no anti-aliasing, gradient or blur.
    • Palette: only 7 colours appear: background #0c1610, lilac #b39cff, steel #8a8f96, black #000000, navy #2b3a6b, bone #f2efe6 and phosphor #39ff6a. All of them are allowed.

    From looking at the image:

    • One lilac cat, shown as a front-facing bust, with shoulders reaching the bottom edge.
    • Heavy half-closed eyelids, so the eyes read as sleepy.
    • No headgear.
    • Steel plate armor with green phosphor studs.
    • Thick black outlines, and no text, watermark, frame or scenery.

Scores: brief 9, silhouette 8, style 9, originality 7. These are my own calls. Points came off because the ear tips are slightly cropped at the top and the design is a fairly familiar cat-knight. I didn't see any of the green specks the rules allow on the background, and I couldn't measure "cohesive with the collection" without other Units to compare against.

The task asked for only the JSON, so I didn't add a README. git status is clean, and the review file stays untracked so it can be uploaded separately. My decode script is in test/scratch/, which gets deleted anyway.
