Agent #1866reviewedAgent #1154reviewedAgent #1294reviewedAgent #443reviewedAgent #401builtAgent #1566testedManifest needs your input: The actual positive uint64 launchNumber assigned to this Medici launch is missing. MediciHook requires it as its fourth constructor argument and passes it to MediciFeeRouter, which permanently stores it for LaunchFactory.positionOf and claimFees. The supplied guidance provides no launch-number placeholder; repository test fixtures are not deployment values. launch.json cannot be completed without inventing an ID. — What is the actual positive uint64 launchNumber assigned to this Medici launch by the launch coordinator?

Launch kind univ4_hook on Ethereum mainnet, paired with native ETH; token, hook, treasury and fee router deploy in the launch. No outside services or oracles. Nobody can change the rules after deployment: no owner, setters, minting, upgrades or pause. No website.

FACTORIES: LaunchFactory 0x12C63b581d07093F6126bc02263c58f7EadaA96F (hooks, Medici's own) and ProjectFactory 0xfF03410d0Fe5fa8f7F59F743de35E333D9857120 share one fee API and pay native ETH: treasury and router need receive(); send ETH with call, never transfer. INTAKE 0xa43e6F75ee006411F79Ac1C84120606C2330DE82 (IMD IntakeV2). IMD/ETH POOL: ETH, IMD, fee 10000, tickSpacing 200, no hook.

TOKEN. Token name: Medici. Token symbol: MEDICI. The standard launch token; poolBps 9000, no team allocation. Burn = send to 0x000000000000000000000000000000000000dEaD; treasury.totalBurned() counts its burns.

HOOK FEE: 2% of every buy and sell in ETH, on settled deltas, exact-in and exact-out: 1.5% to the treasury, 0.5% accrued for TEAM, paid out by claimTeam() (anyone). The treasury's own swaps pay none. First 15 min the buy fee decays 50% to 2%, surplus to the treasury. The hook keeps a TWAP accumulator.

FEE ROUTER: the paying wallet will setRequester(launchNumber, feeRouter) on LaunchFactory. harvest(), anyone: claimFees, withdraw both currencies; ETH to TEAM, MEDICI burned.

ROLES: TEAM and KEEPER, stored in the treasury; each can only hand itself over (setTeam, setKeeper).

TREASURY (holds ETH and IMD; anyone may send IMD):

  • 7-day epochs from pool open; currentEpoch() moves on once the previous end (with extension) passes; ended epochs stay status 0 until settle(epoch).
  • price(): ETH per MEDICI (1e18), 24h TWAP, or since open if younger.
  • propose(title, brief): title max 80 bytes; brief (JSON launch.open body, max 12,000 bytes) emitted in Proposed; store keccak256(brief) and the block. Burns MEDICI worth 0.002 ETH x 1.15^n at price() (n = proposals so far this epoch), clamped 1,000-2,000,000; counts as the proposer's vote. Max 20 per epoch, before the original 7-day end.
  • vote(epoch, id, amount): epoch == currentEpoch(); burns amount, recorded per voter.
  • A vote in the last hour extends the end to 10 min after it, max +24h.
  • flag(epoch, id, note): KEEPER; note max 120 bytes, informational.
  • settle(epoch): anyone, after the end. Most burned wins (tie: earlier); runner-up recorded. Winner's burns under 0.01 ETH at the epoch TWAP: no winner (status 4).
  • Bounty escrowed at settle: min(10% of free treasury ETH, 1 ETH, 50% of the winner's burns at the epoch TWAP), paid to the proposer at recordCommission; kept if the transfer fails.
  • commission(epoch, brief): keccak256(brief) == winner's briefHash; KEEPER at once, anyone 24h after the winner was set; one live request per epoch. If IMD < 0.5, first buys exactly 0.5 IMD in the IMD/ETH POOL for at most 0.03 ETH. Then approves exactly 0.5 IMD and calls INTAKE.requestWithFailure("launch.open@launch-1", brief, (this, onResult), onFailure, IMD, 0.5e18).
  • onResult(bytes32 requestId, bytes32 resultHash, string uri) stores them; onFailure(bytes32,uint8,bytes32,uint16,uint16,bytes) promotes the runner-up. Only from INTAKE for the live request, under 200k gas.
  • lapse(epoch): anyone, 14 days after the winner was set with no recorded launch: runner-up wins with a fresh 14 days; after a second lapse the bounty returns. skip(epoch, reason): KEEPER, before commission; runner-up now. A promoted runner-up's quorum and bounty use its own burns.
  • recordCommission(epoch, launchNumber, jobId): KEEPER, after commission; each launch once; positionOf(launchNumber).requester == treasury (either factory); treasury holds at least 5% of the launch token's supply (the pool currency other than ETH/IMD). Stores both, pays the bounty, reserves that balance as the backer share.
  • claimBacker(epoch): the winner's voters claim it pro rata to their burn for 90 days; then burnUnclaimed(epoch), anyone.
  • Buyback: at settle, 40% of the epoch's ETH income (not returned escrow) unlocks evenly over 24h; unspent carries over. buyback(), anyone: all unlocked ETH buys MEDICI here, burned; caller gets 0.5%; min-out from the TWAP.
  • keeperWithdraw(amount): KEEPER, max 0.01 ETH per epoch.
  • harvest(launchNumber), anyone, recorded launches: claimFees, withdraw; launch tokens above the unclaimed reserve burned; IMD kept for launches.

ADDRESSES: TEAM 0x01670a5CfAEEaEE388cD38085C4ADf1Bad45a1c2, KEEPER 0x16578E0dfAFa219f2B0f52095D8206b5c02F8250, IMD 0xD34a99Bc0f67aE1bbd63C660e6d0b0dd03E263B7.

INTERFACE (exact; a page and keeper use it). epoch, id, amount: uint256; launchNumber, blockNumber, times: uint64; title, note, reason, jobId: string; brief: bytes; briefHash: bytes32; proposer, voter, token: address. hook: treasury(), feeRouter(), teamOwed(), claimTeam(). Treasury views:

token(); price(); totalBurned(); currentEpoch(); epochEnd(e); proposeDeadline(e); proposeCost(); proposalCount(e); votesOf(e,id,voter); claimable(e,voter); totalBuybackBurned();

proposalOf(e,id) -> (proposer, title, briefHash, blockNumber, burned, flag);

epochResult(e) -> (uint8 status, winnerId, runnerUpId, bounty, launchNumber, deadline, jobId): 0 open, 1 awaiting launch, 2 launched, 3 lapsed, 4 no winner;

requestOf(e) -> (bytes32 requestId, openToAllAt), requestId 0 when none is live; backerShare(e) -> (token, amount, claimed, claimUntil); buybackChunk() -> (unlocked eth, tip).

Writes as named above. Event Proposed(epoch, id, proposer, title, brief), plus one event per action.

Requirements: Foundry fork tests for every rule (junk winners lose money; ETH from both factories; commission via the real INTAKE), plus an independent review.

  3. ManifestAgent #525needs input

    Failed in the task.

needs input: The actual positive uint64 launchNumber assigned to this Medici launch is missing.

  4. Audit permissionsAgent #443found 1 info

The review is complete and the findings file is written and validated.

Outcome. No defects found in the assigned area (Access Control, Trust Gap, Asymmetry). The findings file holds one informational note and a coverage record for all 31 listed entry points plus three invariants.

    What I checked

    • Permission map. Every role check and inline guard in the hook, treasury and fee router. TEAM and KEEPER each hand over only themselves. All hook callbacks are manager-only with an exact pool-id check. The treasury swap exemption keys on the PoolManager-authenticated sender, and the hook's own preview swap always reverts, so no fee-free path exists for anyone else.
    • Paired surfaces. Settle against promote, commission against skip and lapse, record against claim and burnUnclaimed, receive against buyback reserve, charge against claimTeam. Storage writes mirror on both sides. I probed the suspicious ones locally: team is paid in full after a claims-minting swap, a last-second vote still blocks settle until the extended end, proposals are closed during a prior epoch's extension, and a promoted runner-up gets fresh 24h keeper exclusivity.
    • Trust seams. The permissionless commission top-up has headroom between the real 0.5 IMD cost and the 0.03 ETH ceiling, but moving the pool enough to exploit it costs more in LP fees than the bounded gain, and my reproduction showed a negative attacker PnL. Buyback sandwiching is likewise unprofitable because the attacker's round trip pays about 6.5% in hook and LP fees against a 5% slippage window.
    • Live integration. The repository's seven mainnet fork tests pass against the pinned block, covering the real IntakeV2 success and failure callbacks, native ETH withdraws from both factories, the IMD pool purchase, and a full LaunchFactory launch of this hook.

Informational note reported. onResult caps the result URI at 96 bytes to fit the Intake's 200k gas stipend. A longer URI from the writer reverts and the result is dropped for that request. No funds move wrongly and KEEPER can still record, so it is a configuration constraint, not a fund-loss defect.

Not reached. Deep math review of the preview-and-settle fee paths and TWAP rounding was outside my area and I relied on the existing tests there. Scratch tests were removed. Nothing else in the tree was changed.

    • infoonResult refuses result URIs over 96 bytes, so an Intake completion with a longer URI is permanently dropped for that requestsrc/MediciTreasury.sol:363

Trust-gap note (access x external dependency), not a fund-loss defect. The treasury trusts only the fixed INTAKE address and the live request id (MediciTreasury._consume), which is correct. To stay under the Intake's 200,000-gas callback stipend the implementation caps the result URI at 96 bytes (MAX_URI_BYTES).

The Intake writer, not the treasury, chooses the URI. If the writer completes a request with a URI longer than 96 bytes, the callback reverts, the Intake marks the request completed with delivered=false, and the treasury never stores resultOf(epoch); the request stays live until recordCommission (which does not need the result) or lapse. No ETH or token moves wrongly: KEEPER can still record the launch, and the winner's status is unaffected.

Reported so the operator keeps the 96-byte limit in the completion writer's configuration; README already documents it. Verified the limit on the mainnet fork (block 26192838): the real IntakeV2 calls the stored selector from its own address with callbackGas 200000, and a 96-byte URI succeeds under vm.cool.

State: epoch 0 settled with a qualifying winner, KEEPER called commission(0, brief) and holds live request id R.

      Input: from Protocol.INTAKE call treasury.onResult(R, keccak256('x'), string(new bytes(97))) with 200,000 gas.

Expected by the Intake: result stored.

Actual: revert 'uri length'; requestOf(0) still returns R; resultOf(0) stays empty.

The retained test test/Treasury.t.sol test_maxResultURIUnder200kAndTooLongRefused shows the same boundary (97 bytes refused, 96 accepted).

  5. Audit flowAgent #1154found 1 high, 1 medium, 1 low, 1 info

Review complete. The findings file holds 4 findings and a 33-row coverage record, and no tracked file was changed.

    What I found

    • High, buyback lock (MediciTreasury.sol:519). The buyback always swaps the entire unlocked amount and demands 95% of the TWAP-implied output with no partial fill. The LP fee alone eats 1.25%, so roughly 0.15 to 0.35 ETH of price impact is the ceiling on the launch pool. Once the unlocked amount is above that, every call reverts with "slippage", unspent budget only grows, and 40% of all future income joins the locked amount. The self-contained proof under test/scratch fails on the current code for exactly that reason and passes with a partial-fill fix.
    • Medium, fee router launch number (MediciFeeRouter.sol:28). The router's only way to find its position is a launch number written as a constructor literal in launch.json, but the coordinator assigns that number at deployment and the manifest has no placeholder for it. A mismatch makes harvest() revert with "position" forever, with no recovery in the delivered contracts. Reproduced with the mock factory.
    • Low, result URI cap (MediciTreasury.sol:363). A URI over 96 bytes makes onResult revert, so such completions are never stored. Funds are unaffected.
    • Info, Promoted event (MediciTreasury.sol:397). The second lapse emits a promotion for a stale winner while the status is 3.

    What held

    • The hook's reverting-preview fee path, the token-specified fee path, the delta accounting against the vendored v4 Hooks library, the treasury exemption and the claim fallback all traced correctly.
    • The Intake and factory encodings match the published ABIs, and I ran the seven mainnet fork tests at the latest block myself. All passed, including the real Intake success and failure callbacks and native ETH from both factories.
    • Every treasury entry point was traced for state, access and failure paths. All 31 listed entry points have a coverage row, 3 as findings and the rest as holds.

    Not reached

    • Economic manipulation of the TWAP and the proposal-cost floor is outside my three guides and only noted as a residual risk.
    • The pinned fork block was unavailable from the public RPC, so the fork run used the latest block instead.

    • highbuyback() is all-or-nothing against a fixed 5% TWAP bound, so an unlocked budget the pool cannot absorb locks the buyback reserve permanentlysrc/MediciTreasury.sol:519

buyback() always swaps the entire unlocked amount (gross minus tip) as one exact-input swap and requires bought >= 95% of the quantity implied by the 24h TWAP; unlockCallback additionally reverts on any partial fill ("partial buyback").

The pool's LP fee alone costs 1.25%, so only ~3.75% of price impact is tolerated, which on the launch pool (about 9 ETH of ETH-side depth at the 10 ETH opening cap, 4 ETH in the project's own test pool) is reached by a single swap of roughly 0.15-0.35 ETH.

Unspent budget carries over and every later settle() adds to the same gross, so once the unlocked amount exceeds what the pool can absorb the call reverts with "slippage" on every subsequent attempt, forever: nothing can spend part of it, the amount only grows, and buybackReserved stays excluded from freeETH() so the ETH is dead to bounties, commissions and keeperWithdraw as well.

The trigger is ordinary: one 24h unlock window with no caller (the 0.5% tip of a sub-0.3 ETH budget is below mainnet gas, so bots rationally wait), or any epoch whose 40% share exceeds ~2% of pool depth.

Fix while preserving the spec (all unlocked ETH, TWAP min-out, 0.5% tip): swap with a sqrtPriceLimitX96 derived from the TWAP (e.g. 5% above it) instead of a min-out plus the partial-fill revert, spend only the ETH actually consumed, and leave the unspent remainder unlocked for the next call; alternatively cap each call's spend at the largest amount that the min-out check admits.

State: launch pool seeded full-range with liquidity 4e22 at sqrtPrice 1e4*2^96 (about 4 ETH of ETH-side depth, as in test/Base.t.sol).

      1. Send 2 ETH to the treasury in epoch 0 (buybackReserved = 0.8 ETH).

      2. warp to epochEnd(0); settle(0).

      3. warp +1 day; buybackChunk() reports 0.8 ETH unlocked.

      4. buyback() -> revert "slippage" (0.796 ETH into ~4 ETH depth yields ~17% less MEDICI than the TWAP implies).

      5. warp +30 days; buyback() -> revert "slippage" again; buybackReserved() still 0.8 ETH, freeETH() = 1.2 ETH.

Expected: the unlocked ETH is spent on MEDICI over one or more calls (spec: 'unspent carries over').

Actual: no call can ever spend any of it, and every future epoch's budget joins the locked amount.

    • mediumFee router is bound to a launch number baked into the hook's constructor; a number the coordinator assigns differently bricks harvest() permanentlysrc/MediciFeeRouter.sol:28

MediciHook's fourth constructor argument (uint64 launchNumber, src/MediciHook.sol:50,56) is forwarded to the immutable MediciFeeRouter and is the only way the router can find its position: harvest() takes no argument and queries positionOf(launchNumber).

The launch number is chosen by the launch coordinator when it calls LaunchFactory.launch(params) (params.launchNumber; the fork test picks 1_000_002 arbitrarily), but the manifest schema offers only the $poolManager/$token/$owner/$factory placeholders, so the fourth argument must be written as a literal in launch.json before the number exists.

There is no setter (by design) and no on-chain lookup from pool or hook to launch number, so a literal that differs from the assigned number makes every harvest() revert with "position" for the life of the contract: the paying wallet's setRequester(real number, feeRouter) succeeds, the LP fees accrue to the router as requester on the factory, and nothing can ever claim them through the router (the payer would have to re-point the requester to some other address, outside the delivered design).

The project's README acknowledges the number must be supplied before salt mining but nothing in the schema or deployer resolves it.

Fix without adding an owner: drop the constructor literal and let the router bind itself permissionlessly to a verifiable fact, e.g. harvest() iterating is impossible, but a one-shot bind(uint64 n) that requires positionOf(n).key.hooks == hook && key.currency1 == token (only this launch's pool carries this hook) and stores n; or make the hook record its launch number from the PoolKey/factory at beforeInitialize if the factory exposes it.

Deploy the hook with launchNumber 777 (as test/Base.t.sol does) while the factory position for this pool is registered under 778: MockFactory.setPosition(778, key(ETH, MEDICI, 12500, 60, hook), feeRouter) and leave 777 unset (real factory: positionOf(777) reverts NoPosition, which also propagates). feeRouter.harvest() -> revert "position" (or NoPosition) on every call, even though positionOf(778).requester == feeRouter and fees are owed.

Expected: harvest() claims and withdraws this launch's fees.

Actual: unreachable forever, no recovery path in the delivered contracts.

    • lowonResult rejects any result URI longer than 96 bytes, so Intake completions with ordinary https URIs are never storedsrc/MediciTreasury.sol:363

The URI the Intake writer delivers is not controlled by this contract.

A 97-byte or longer URI (an https URL with a job id easily exceeds 96 bytes) makes the 200k-gas callback revert, so the request's result hash and URI are never recorded in resultOf and the request stays live until lapse/record clears it. recordCommission does not depend on the result, so funds are not at risk, but the on-chain evidence the interface promises (onResult 'stores them') is lost for every such completion.

Storing only keccak256(uri) or truncating is a cheap alternative; the Intake stipend is fixed at 200,000 gas.

After commission(0, brief) returns requestId, call from Protocol.INTAKE with 200,000 gas: onResult(requestId, 0x07, <97-byte string>) -> revert "uri length"; requestOf(0) still returns requestId; resultOf(0) is empty. A 96-byte string succeeds.

On the second lapse/skip/failure (r.promoted already true, or no runner-up) status becomes 3 and no one is promoted, but the event still reports the previous winnerId as 'winner' with bounty 0 and deadline 0. Off-chain consumers of Promoted get a spurious promotion record; epochResult() is correct.

      propose(A) only, fund, settle(0) -> status 1, winner 1, runnerUp 0. warp 14 days; lapse(0): emits Promoted(0, 1, 0, 0) followed by Lapsed(0) although status is now 3 and nobody was promoted.

  6. Audit economicsAgent #1866found 1 medium, 2 low

The findings file is valid and git shows no tracked changes (only the required .imd-findings.json and my scratch tests, which are ignored). The review is complete.

    Review outcome

I audited the economics of the Medici launch (hook, treasury, fee router, token) against the Pashov Economic Security, Invariant and Flow Gap guides, traced all 31 listed entry points, and wrote .imd-findings.json with 3 findings and 37 coverage rows (one unreached: the fork tests, since no RPC is available here).

    Findings

    1. Medium. A launch that lands after the 14-day deadline can never be recorded for its epoch. recordCommission is refused from the deadline second, lapse is open to anyone at the same moment, and after that the launch's tokens and fee position have no path out through the original epoch. The only recovery is for the keeper to attribute the same launch to a later epoch's winner, which pays that epoch's proposer and voters instead of the ones whose burns produced the launch. My scratch test reproduces the full sequence on the mock setup.

    2. Low. Proposal lockout is cheap. Filling all 20 slots in one transaction costs a measured 19.0M MEDICI, about 0.19 ETH at the opening price (the 2M-MEDICI ceiling clamps the last three), after which nobody else can propose for the week. This is the parameterisation the brief specified, so I reported it as a design-level economic weakness with concrete numbers.

    3. Low. onResult rejects any Intake URI over 96 bytes. The treasury does not control the writer's URI; a longer one drops the result and leaves the request live until record or lapse. Funds are not at risk because recordCommission does not depend on onResult.

    Leads I tested and dropped

    • Both Intake callbacks fit the 200k stipend with fully cold storage, including runner-up promotion on onFailure.
    • Buyback sandwiching is unprofitable: the attacker's round trip costs over 6.5% in hook and LP fees against a 5% slippage tolerance, and the seeded liquidity makes price impact negligible.
    • The hook's fee accounting, treasury reserve invariants, and backer-share conservation all held under tracing and the existing fuzz suites, which I re-ran (54 tests pass).

Not reached The fork tests against the real factories, Intake and IMD pool could not run here. Factory withdraw and claimFees semantics were checked against the shipped ABI files only.

    • mediumA commissioned launch that lands after the 14-day deadline can never be recorded for its epoch; its backer share and bounty are either stranded or redirected to another epoch's voterssrc/MediciTreasury.sol:441

Flow gap (execution x periphery x first principles).

The treasury pays 0.5 IMD to the Intake and the launch pipeline (attestation, admission, deployment) runs off chain for an unbounded time. recordCommission() is the only path that ties a finished launch to the epoch that paid for it, and it is refused at or after r.deadline (line 441). lapse() at line 401 (require(epochs[e].status == 1 && block.timestamp >= epochs[e].deadline, "not lapsed")) is callable by anyone from the same second, and _promote() either moves the epoch to status 3 or installs the runner-up.

After that: recordCommission(e, launchNumber) for the original epoch reverts forever ("record state"); harvest(launchNumber) reverts ("unrecorded", line 565) so the launch's LP fee position, whose requester is the treasury, can never be claimed through the treasury; and the >=5% launch-token allocation sits in the treasury with no claimBacker/burnUnclaimed/harvest path.

The only way to ever move those tokens is for KEEPER to record the SAME launchNumber under a later epoch's winner (status 1, commissioned), which passes every check in _position()/recordCommission and pays that later epoch's proposer the bounty and that later epoch's voters the backer share. The voters who burned MEDICI for the proposal that actually produced the launch receive nothing, although their burns are irreversible.

The deadline runs from winnerSetAt, not from commission, so KEEPER commissioning on day 10 leaves four days for the whole launch pipeline. There is no deadline extension on onResult, no 'record a lapsed epoch's launch' path, and no sweep for unrecorded positions.

      Base.t.sol setUp (local mocks).

      1. alice proposes and votes 2,000,000 MEDICI on id 1; fund treasury 2 ETH; warp to epochEnd(0); settle(0) -> status 1, deadline = now + 14 days.

      2. KEEPER commission(0, BRIEF) -> live request; Intake delivers onResult (stored).

      3. Launch completes: MockFactory(LAUNCH_FACTORY).setPosition(42, PoolKey(ETH, LaunchToken, 12500, 60, 0), requester = treasury); treasury holds 100 of 1000 LaunchToken (10%).

      4. vm.warp(deadline).

KEEPER recordCommission(0, 42, "job") -> reverts "record state".

      Anyone calls lapse(0) -> status 3 (no runner-up). recordCommission(0, 42, ...) -> reverts "record state" forever; harvest(42) -> reverts "unrecorded"; claimable(0, alice) == 0 forever.

      1. Next epoch: bob proposes/votes, settle(1), commission(1); KEEPER recordCommission(1, 42, "reassigned") SUCCEEDS: bounty paid to bob, claimable(1, bob) > 0, claimable(0, alice) == 0.

Expected: the epoch whose proposal produced launch 42 records it (or at least its tokens and fee position remain recoverable for its voters); actual: that epoch is permanently closed one second after its deadline and the launch's value can only go to unrelated voters or stay stranded.

Full sequence is in the reviewer's scratch test test_probe_lapseStrandsCompletedLaunch (test/scratch/Probe.t.sol, passes on current code, demonstrating the behaviour).

    • lowAll 20 proposal slots of an epoch can be bought for about 0.2 ETH of MEDICI burns, locking every other proposer out for the weeksrc/MediciTreasury.sol:194

Economic security ('cheapest griefing vector that blocks other users'; 'legitimate features turned against the protocol'). proposeCost() is 0.002 ETH x 1.15^n at the 24h TWAP, clamped to [1,000; 2,000,000] MEDICI, and proposalCount[e] is capped at 20.

The nominal cost to occupy all 20 slots in one epoch is 0.002 x (1.15^20 - 1) / 0.15 = 0.2048 ETH worth of MEDICI; at the opening price (1e-8 ETH/MEDICI) the 2,000,000-MEDICI ceiling clamps the 18th-20th proposals, so the measured total is 19,014,995 MEDICI = 0.1902 ETH (reviewer probe test_probe_spamCost, test/scratch/Probe2.t.sol, price() = 10000017625 wei per MEDICI).

One actor can do this in a single transaction at the start of every epoch for ~0.19 ETH/week (less if MEDICI appreciates, because the 2M-MEDICI ceiling then clamps more slots), after which propose() reverts 'proposals closed' for everyone else, and the only candidates that can win the epoch are the spammer's.

KEEPER can skip the winner and the promoted runner-up, which ends the epoch at status 3, so the attacker gains nothing but the protocol's core mechanism (proposals -> commissioned launches) is suppressed for as long as the attacker pays. Because the burns raise MEDICI scarcity, a large MEDICI holder has a partial hedge against the cost.

This is the parameterisation the brief asked for (cost formula and cap), so it is reported as a design-level economic weakness with concrete numbers rather than a coding error; a stricter escalation (e.g. doubling) or counting only distinct proposers toward the cap would raise the cost materially.

      Base.t.sol setUp.

      For i in 0..19: vm.prank(alice); treasury.propose("spam", BRIEF).

Measured: alice burns 19,014,995.73 MEDICI in total (clamped by the 2M ceiling on the last three), worth 0.1902 ETH at price() = 10000017625.

Then vm.prank(bob); treasury.propose("legit", BRIEF) -> reverts 'proposals closed' until proposeDeadline(0) (existing test_proposalCapsLengthsAndOriginalDeadline already shows the lockout after 20 proposals).

Expected: a week-long lockout should cost more than a few tenths of an ETH; actual: ~0.2 ETH/week.

    • lowonResult drops any Intake result whose URI exceeds 96 bytes, leaving the request live with no stored result although the treasury does not control the writer's URIsrc/MediciTreasury.sol:363

Flow gap (periphery x first principles). The URI in onResult is produced by the IMD Intake writer, not by this project's operators, yet the treasury reverts the whole success callback when it is longer than 96 bytes.

The Intake delivers the callback once with a 200k stipend; a revert means resultOf(e) stays empty, requestOf(e) keeps reporting the request as live until recordCommission or lapse clears it, and the on-chain link between the request and the delivered launch (resultHash, uri) is lost. Nothing in the repository establishes the real writer's URI format or length (the fork test uses a 23-byte URI it chose itself).

Since recordCommission does not require onResult, funds are not lost, but the stated purpose of onResult (store requestId, resultHash, uri) is defeated for any deployment whose service returns a longer URI, and the limit is a hard constant with no fallback such as storing keccak256(uri) and emitting the full string.

      Base.t.sol setUp. _winner(); id = _commission(); vm.prank(Protocol.INTAKE); treasury.onResult(id, bytes32(uint256(1)), string(new bytes(97))) -> reverts 'uri length' (existing test_maxResultURIUnder200kAndTooLongRefused shows deliver() returning false for 97 bytes).

Afterwards requestOf(0).requestId == id (still live) and resultOf(0) is empty.

Expected: a successful Intake completion is recorded in some form regardless of URI length (e.g. hash stored, string emitted); actual: the completion is rejected and only the lapse/record paths clean up.

  7. Audit mathAgent #1294found 1 high

Review complete. The findings file is at .imd-findings.json with one substantiated finding, its Foundry proof, and a coverage row for all 31 listed entry points plus three invariants.

Finding (high): buyback() locks permanently once its budget outgrows pool depth. MediciTreasury.buyback() swaps every vested-but-unspent wei in one exact-input swap, requires full consumption, and demands at least 95% of the 24h-TWAP amount. The amount it must swap only grows: vesting continues, unspent carries over, and each settle adds a chunk. With the 1.25% LP fee, the bound breaks once the swap is above roughly 4% of the pool's ETH-side reserve, and a launch pool is seeded with tokens only, so that reserve starts near zero. After that every call reverts with "slippage" forever, and the ETH counted in buybackReserved is also excluded from freeETH(), so bounties, the IMD purchase and keeper withdrawals cannot use it either. The TWAP lag makes it worse: whenever spot is more than about 4% above the TWAP the call fails anyway while the budget keeps growing.

Reproduction in test/scratch/BuybackLock.t.sol: twelve epochs of 1 ETH income with no buyback calls, then buyback() against a pool holding about 4 ETH. It fails now with "slippage" and passes once buyback can spend a slice that clears the min-out.

Coverage of my area (math precision, boundary, numerical gap):

    • Hook fee algebra traced for all four swap shapes: the fee is consistently 2% (decayed on early buys) of the pool-side ETH delta, the preview amount equals the real swap amount, and partial-fill recomputation cannot undercut the quoted fill. Only sub-51-wei swaps round the fee to zero, which is dust.
    • TWAP accumulator bounds, tick flooring and the wei-per-1e18-MEDICI scale check out. The over-uint128 branch is only reachable where the price is already zero.
    • Treasury reserve accounting holds: the incremental 40% reservation in receive() equals the chunk pushed at settle, and balance never drops below escrow plus reserve.
    • Epoch boundaries, tie-breaking, quorum, bounty clamps, propose-cost clamps, extension cap and backer pro-rata rounding all behave as specified.
    • onResult's 96-byte URI cap measured at about 187.6k of the 200k gas stipend, so it is a deliberate constraint, not a defect. Noted in coverage.

Not reached: the mainnet fork suite and the real Intake and factory behavior were not exercised, only their ABIs and the project's mocks.

    • highbuyback() must swap all unlocked ETH at once under a 5% TWAP min-out; once the budget outgrows pool depth it reverts forever and the reserved ETH is lockedsrc/MediciTreasury.sol:519

buyback() computes gross = every vested-but-unspent wei across all chunks (buybackChunk), then swaps eth = gross - tip in ONE exact-input swap with minOut = 95% of eth/price() (line 512, SLIPPAGE_BPS = 500) and requires the full input to be consumed (unlockCallback: 'partial buyback'). The amount it must swap can only grow: vesting continues, unspent carries over, and every settle(e) pushes another 40% chunk. There is no way to spend a slice.

In a constant-product pool the output of an exact-input x against ETH-side reserve E is roughly x(1-f)/(E + x(1-f)) of the token reserve while the TWAP target is x/E, so with the 1.25% LP fee the 5% bound is breached once x is above roughly 3.8% of E. A launch pool is seeded with tokens only, so E at open is close to zero and grows only with buys; the test pool below is comparatively deep (about 4 ETH at the opening price) and still locks at under 0.2 ETH per call.

Fee income of 1.5% of volume easily produces a 0.4 ETH+ chunk per week, and the 0.5% tip (0.002 ETH on a 0.4 ETH chunk) does not pay mainnet gas for the call, so chunks are left to accumulate. The 24h TWAP lag makes it worse: whenever spot is more than about 4% above the TWAP the call reverts anyway, and the budget keeps growing meanwhile.

Once the bound is breached buyback() reverts with 'slippage' on every later call; the contract is immutable, so the ETH counted in buybackReserved is permanently stuck, and because freeETH() = balance - escrowTotal - buybackReserved it is also unavailable for bounties, the 0.03 ETH IMD purchase in commission() and keeperWithdraw().

Seam: boundary (all-or-nothing, monotone growth) x precision (fixed 5% bound vs. size-dependent price impact) x invariant (40% of income is bought back and burned).

Fix that keeps the stated rules: let buyback() spend the largest slice that clears the min-out (for example quote with the hook's preview path or halve the amount until the quote clears, leaving the rest unlocked for the next call), or bound each call to a fraction of the pool's ETH-side liquidity; keep spent/reserved accounting per slice.

State: pool at the opening price with 4e22 full-range liquidity (about 4 ETH / 400M MEDICI virtual reserves), as in test/Base.t.sol.

Steps: for e = 0..11 send 1 ETH of fee income to the treasury during epoch e, warp to epochEnd(e), settle(e).

Warp 2 days. buybackChunk() reports 4.8 ETH unlocked, buybackReserved = 4.8 ETH, freeETH() = 7.2 ETH.

Call buyback(): expected some MEDICI bought and burned; actual revert 'slippage' (the single 4.776 ETH swap would return about 45% of the TWAP amount, far below the 95% floor).

Every later call reverts the same way (a month later too), and no function can reduce the amount buyback() must swap.

The 4.8 ETH stays outside freeETH forever.

A single epoch with 5 ETH income (2 ETH chunk) locks the same way: buyback() reverts 'slippage' at +1 day and at +31 days, freeETH() stays at 3 of 5 ETH.

Run: forge test --match-path test/scratch/BuybackLock.t.sol (fails now with 'slippage').

    • mediumA valid Intake success URI longer than 96 bytes is discardedsrc/MediciTreasury.sol:363

The task requires onResult(requestId,resultHash, uri) to store all three fields for a live request under the 200,000-gas Intake stipend and specifies no URI-length restriction. The implementation unconditionally rejects any URI over MAX_URI_BYTES (96). A normal 97-byte HTTPS result URL therefore cannot be recorded even from the real configured Intake for the current live request.

The rejection happens before _consume, so resultOf stays empty and requestOf stays live despite successful work. Intake delivery is one-shot; keeper intervention/recording or the 14-day lapse path is then needed. The existing review describes 96 bytes as a workaround for callback storage gas, but that adds an unsupported interface restriction rather than fulfilling the callback requirement.

Supporting the required payload must also retain the gas bound; removing only the require is not enough if storage gas exceeds it.

Run the attached self-contained ResultUriProof test as test/scratch/ResultUriProof.t.sol with forge test --match-path test/scratch/ResultUriProof.t.sol -vvv.

It deploys the actual MediciTreasury and MediciToken, creates a quorate winner, commissions through a local canonical Intake fixture that pulls 0.5 IMD, then calls onResult from Protocol.INTAKE with the live id, a nonzero hash, and the 97-byte string https://example.org/results/ followed by 69 ASCII a characters, with exactly 200,000 gas and cold treasury storage.

Expected: call succeeds, resultOf contains all input fields, and the live request is consumed.

Actual: onResult reverts with Error("uri length") after approximately 29,747 gas and the test fails at assertTrue(ok).

Executed locally on the unchanged implementation; the failing assertion was observed.

The proof is not included as a failing default-suite test.

Additional mainnet-fork confirmation at block 26193041: real Intake.complete(status=0) with a 97-byte URI marks requests(id).completed=true while treasury.resultOf(0) stays empty.

A second completion with a shorter URI reverts AlreadyCompleted(id).

The investigation fails on the expected treasury result equality, confirming that the failed delivery cannot simply be retried.
