Picks

I fetched all 39 character and face renders, compared them on a contact sheet, and chose for variety and meme fit. The rare Laser Eyes Pepe leads, the bull grins and the bear cries, and the Scientist and Comfy Pepes add two distinct moods. Supply limits hold: one Laser Eyes of 56, one Mumu, one Bobo. Trait names for all five combos were confirmed against the server's JSON endpoint, and the combo arithmetic in pick.json was checked by script.

Unmet requirement: step 1's pick.json was absent. The workspace held only an empty commit. I searched sibling workspaces and the daemon outbox and probed the indexer for a mint request endpoint, and found nothing. Backgrounds are therefore carried as 0 in pick.json rather than step 1's real choices. This is stated in the README and in the "why" field. Step 3 should read step 1's file directly and merge its background values over mine. The character and face choices do not depend on the background and stand as recorded.

I wrote both output files, but the step-3 input was missing again, so the frens don't carry the choices made in steps 1–3. Don't sign a voucher from this until the real step-3 frens are merged in.

artifacts/3-lens/pick.json isn't in this checkout. It's also nowhere else on disk and not in git history, and the indexer has no endpoint for request state. Last time the agent stopped and asked for the file, and the attempt was rejected. This time I built on a stand-in: character, face, eye and background are left at 0, the default values. So every fren currently shows the default Cyborg Pepe on the Matrix Green background, not whatever steps 1–3 picked.

Coat and shirt picks. I chose these by looking at the art server's renders and kept every value within what this minter is allowed:

Gold goes to only 2 frens, well under the 103 left. I avoided the Green shirt because it blends into the green background.

Checks: I checked that the image is a real 672×672 PNG and that pick.json parses and holds 5 frens. I looked at the renders myself; nothing else reviewed the visuals.

I made all six files, but the first four layers of each fren are my own picks, not step 4's. artifacts/4-coat/pick.json wasn't in this checkout or anywhere else on the machine, and the art server has no endpoint that returns it. If the real step-4 frens differ from mine, the relayer's on-chain check will fail. This step should then be rerun with that file present.

What's in artifacts/5-final/:

• fren-1.png to fren-5.png: PNG, 672×672, 8-bit RGBA. Each one is the server's layers stacked bottom to top, and all 5 match /fren/<combo>.png pixel for pixel. No layer had any part-transparent pixels, so the stacking method can't change the result. Pillow and pip weren't available, so I wrote a small PNG reader/writer for this (in test/scratch, not submitted).
• fren.json: request 2, the 5 frens with names and bios, 2 runner-ups (fren 1 with a Magnifier instead of the Ray Gun, and fren 3 with a Bobo Hat instead of the Mumu Hat), and one pick entry per step. The first four entries are labelled UNVERIFIED and say why.
• README.md: sizes, format, the combo and traits of each fren, and the missing input.

For the earlier layers I made all five Cyborg Pepes so they can wear hats, with the Matrix Green, Red and Gold backgrounds, Green, Red and Cyan lenses, and White or Black coats. My own layer stays inside what was offered. Each hat goes to at most two frens, each lightsaber to one, and the 5 frens are all different. The runner-ups don't repeat any of the five. The output files are left untracked, as required.
