Perform a complete technical and functional audit of the existing SQUEEK HOURS application.

IMPORTANT:

  • Do not rebuild the project from scratch.
  • Do not change the existing branding or remove working features.
  • Inspect the entire existing codebase before making changes.
  • Identify functional features, incomplete features, visual placeholders, and technical issues.

PRIORITY 1: SQUEEKCHAIN API

Investigate the blockchain integration and fix the current loading issue:

"Reading the chain…"

"Confirmed settlement has not loaded."

Verify the official API endpoints, response schemas, network connectivity, caching, and error handling.

Ensure that:

  • Real confirmed settlement data loads correctly.
  • Provisional measurements remain separate.
  • API failures are handled correctly.
  • Stale data is clearly identified.
  • No blockchain data is fabricated.

PRIORITY 2: FUNCTIONALITY

Test:

  • User authentication.
  • Focus sessions.
  • Session persistence.
  • Rooms.
  • Real-time participation.
  • XP calculations.
  • Leaderboards.
  • Expeditions.
  • User profiles.

Do not assume features work just because their interfaces exist.

PRIORITY 3: REPORT

Before making major architectural changes, provide a concise audit of:

  1. Current technology stack.
  2. Working features.
  3. Broken or incomplete features.
  4. Blockchain integration problems.
  5. Recommended fixes.

Implement safe, clearly scoped fixes and preserve the existing application.

The final result must be a genuinely functional product, not a mockup.

  2. Build websiteAgent #192641 files changed

Audited and repaired the existing app while preserving its branding and features.

    • Fixed confirmed chain loading, stale/error handling, session persistence and private-room access.
    • Delivered dist/, source, lockfile and documentation.
    • Passed 42 tests, Chromium interaction checks and 16/16 design checks. Safari remains unverified.

Shared accounts, rooms and leaderboards require the Python server. Static hosting provides clearly labeled device-only sessions and profiles.

See README, audit and validation results.

Saved the audit to .imd-findings.json. Application files remain unchanged.

The four findings include exact source citations, fixes and measured reproductions:

    • bug: Expedition freezes confirmed, stale and community progress until navigation.
    • bug: Created private rooms become undiscoverable after reload.
    • bug: A delayed room heartbeat undoes a newer room selection.
    • bug: Slow chain reads make local community progress and initial routing time out.

The stack remains plain JavaScript/CSS with Python HTTP, SQLite and cookie authentication. Typechecking, 42 unit/integration tests and all 10 available Chromium scenarios passed. Live settlement loaded round 431; both official schemas and conditional HTTP 304 responses passed validation. WebKit could not launch because system libraries were unavailable.

    • mediumbug: Expedition freezes confirmed, stale and community progress until navigationpublic/app.js:258

Now: Hamster progress is rendered only when loadExpedition runs. Subsequent successful core reads and freshness changes update Home and World but leave the open Expedition panel unchanged.

Change to: Repaint the existing expedition chain paragraph when a core read finishes or becomes stale; refresh the existing community totals while this view is active.

Why: Real confirmed settlement must load correctly and stale data must be clearly identified throughout the application.

      390×844, Chromium, static export.

Intercept the official core/status reads with the existing test fixtures and delay them by 1800 ms; open /#expeditions.

Wait until Home’s #chain-line contains Confirmed · round 800, then wait another 9 seconds.

Actual: #expedition still says Confirmed chain progress unavailable.

      Returning Home shows round 800.

Expected: the existing expedition paragraph updates when the valid read arrives, without navigating away and back.

These are synthetic test inputs, not claimed blockchain observations.

Also load a fresh round 800, open Expeditions, then abort subsequent API reads and advance the browser clock 16 seconds: Home marks its snapshot Stale while the Expedition paragraph has no stale label.

In server mode, open Expeditions after one completed 25-minute session; complete a second account’s 25-minute session and wait 9 seconds.

The open panel stays at 1 session / 25 minutes while GET /api/expedition returns 2 sessions / 50 minutes.

    • mediumbug: Created private rooms become undiscoverable after reloadserver.py:466

Now: The room directory returns only public rooms. Private room codes/invites and the current room live only in page memory, so an owner loses every in-app route back to their private room after reload unless they copied the codes elsewhere.

Change to: Include the signed-in user’s owned/joined private rooms in the existing directory with the current authorization checks, and allow the owner to retrieve their invite without exposing it to other users.

Why: Rooms and persisted private membership must remain usable after ordinary navigation/reloads.

      390×844, Chromium, Python server.

Create an account; open Rooms; create a private room named Review private room; confirm its panel and invite appear; reload.

Actual: #room-panel is hidden, #private-result and both invite fields are empty, and GET /api/rooms lists only the six public rooms.

GET /api/me also has no room reference.

The owner cannot find/rejoin/share that existing room through the UI.

Expected: the authenticated owner can find their existing private room after reloading without an externally saved room code.

    • mediumbug: A delayed room heartbeat undoes a newer room selectionpublic/app.js:211

Now: Heartbeat calls enter(roomSlug), and every join response assigns roomSlug after its request finishes. A delayed heartbeat for the previous room can finish after a user joins another room and move both presence and the panel back to the old room.

Change to: Serialize heartbeat joins with explicit join/leave actions, cancel or drain the old heartbeat before switching, and ignore responses from superseded room operations. Ensure the final server presence matches the latest user action.

Why: Real-time participation must not override the room the visitor deliberately selected.

      390×844, Chromium, Python server.

Sign in and join Global Focus.

Hold the next automatic POST /api/rooms/global-focus/join before it reaches the server.

While it is held, click Join Deep Work and wait for #room-name to read Deep Work.

Release the held heartbeat and wait 300 ms.

Measured actual: #room-name switches from Deep Work back to Global Focus; the delayed join also writes server presence to Global Focus.

Expected: the newer Deep Work selection remains selected and present.

The held request is an ordinary 4-second heartbeat, released within the 8-second request timeout.

    • mediumbug: Slow chain reads make local community progress and initial routing time outserver.py:424

Now: Every /api/expedition response waits for fetch_chain before reading local community statistics. Its upstream requests and the browser request both have eight-second timeouts; init also awaits this summary before selecting the requested hash route. A slow chain can therefore hide available local totals and leave /#profile displaying Home.

Change to: Return SQLite community statistics independently of external chain latency, use the existing cached chain snapshot for the optional hamster field, and initialize the selected route independently of summary refresh.

Why: API failures should degrade chain data without breaking unrelated functional features and navigation.

390×844, Chromium, Python server with an isolated database.

Simulate an upstream stall by setting app.fetch_chain = lambda: (time.sleep(8.2) or (None, 'API timeout')) in the test harness before starting its HTTP server; keep all account and SQLite handlers unchanged.

      Open /#profile.

At the frontend eight-second deadline, measured: #page-error says The shared service timed out; location.hash is #profile, #view-home is visible, #view-profile is hidden, and #today says Unavailable.

      A concurrent GET /api/me returns HTTP 200.

Expected: Profile opens and local community totals remain available while only chain progress is unavailable.

No production source was modified for this reproduction.
