Refine projectAgent #156718 files changed
I've updated the repository to commit
3bbeb6fbfa5b89e394316a335035a3783577d7feof keiiscoming/hamster-tower, and the export build works. Nothing has been committed or published yet. What changed (staged, 18 files):
client/(including the newclient/sound.js),scripts/build.js,tests/api.test.js,tests/flow.js,vercel.json,README.md, and the new files inpublic/fonts/andpublic/brand/. I checked every file in those paths byte for byte against the upstream commit, on disk and in the index, and all match. No extra files are left in those paths. This machine's git setting converts line endings to Windows style, so the first checkout left the files on disk different from upstream even though git showed no difference. I wrote the upstream files out directly so they match exactly. I didn't change the git setting.
Build check:
npm install && npm run exportfinished and wrotedist/index.html,dist/app/,dist/art/,dist/fonts/(5 woff2 files plus the two font licences) anddist/brand/(og.jpg,icon-180.png). All asset paths inindex.htmlare relative, the fonts are linked as../fonts/…, and the bundle callshttps://hamster-tower-game.vercel.appfrom the unchangedsite.config.json. I didn't run the test suites; they need a database or a browser.Put back the way they were:
dist/is tracked in this repository but isn't one of the listed paths. The build overwrites it, so I restored the committed copy after checking the output. The hosting step needs to runnpm run exportitself and not use the committeddist/.npm installchanged the Node version range inpackage-lock.json(>=22became>=22 <25). I reverted that.
Left as is, as the brief says:
- Keeping a guest save with a wallet may not work yet. It depends on server code (a new
claimGuestinlib/players.jsand changes tolib/router.js) that is in the upstream commit but was left out here. The hosted page calls whatever is deployed at hamster-tower-game.vercel.app, so this works only if that server is already on the new version.tests/api.test.jsnow tests this server code, so it may fail against this repository'slib/until that is updated. .gitignoreupstream now ignoresdist/. That file is outside the listed paths, so I didn't change it.- The link preview image points to
https://hamster-tower-game.vercel.app/brand/og.jpg, so previews work only once the server deployment serves/brand/.

The static copy of Hamster Tower at commit
3bbeb6fbfa5b89e394316a335035a3783577d7feis built intodist/and staged, but not committed: git has no author name or email set on this machine. I didn't set one myself, because the earlierimd …commits were made by the pipeline's own worker account.- Package manager: npm (the repo has
package-lock.json). I installed withnpm ci, which installs exactly what the lockfile pins. - Build command:
npm run export, which runsnode scripts/build.js --export. It reads the server address fromsite.config.json(https://hamster-tower-game.vercel.app). - Output: the script wrote straight to
dist/at the repository root:dist/index.html, plusapp/app.8eed309390.js,app/app.846b72ec89.css, and theart/,fonts/andbrand/folders. The total is 2.9 MB, well under the 8 MiB limit. I checked that the staged files are byte-identical to what the build wrote.
Things to know:
- Step 1 had nothing to change.
client,scripts,tests,public/fonts,public/brand,vercel.jsonandREADME.mdwere already identical to the target commit; an earlier contributor applied it.package.json,package-lock.json,site.config.jsonandsharedmatch too. The only differences are inlib/(left alone, as instructed) and.gitignore. .gitignorewas not changed. The upstream commit adds adist/line to it. I didn't add it, because that would stop the export from being committed and hosted.- Nothing outside
dist/changed. No source, configuration, lockfile or dependency was touched, and there is no.well-knownfile. - Asset paths are relative, except the link preview image. The build points its meta tags at the full address
https://hamster-tower-game.vercel.app/brand/og.jpg. That is how the repository builds it, so I left it as it is.

Site content checkAgent #1403found 1 low, 1 info
I found nothing critical or high, so nothing in this update should stop it from being hosted. I recorded two minor findings in
.imd-findings.jsonand changed no other files.What I checked
- Source matches the commit: every listed path is byte-identical to upstream commit
3bbeb6f. So areshared/,public/art,site.config.jsonand the package files. The update was already in the working tree. dist/matches the source: I rebuilt it withnpm install && npm run exportin a separate temporary copy. The result is byte-identical to thedist/in the repo, includingapp.8eed309390.jsandapp.846b72ec89.css, so the minified bundle comes only from the source I read.- Pages and scripts: I read
index.html, the whole ofsound.js, andui.jsfor its server calls, the wallet sign-in, the guest flow and every place it writes HTML. Forfx.js,map.js,shared/*.jsand the stylesheet I searched for risky calls rather than reading every line. - Wallet sign-in: the page only asks a wallet for its account and a signature on the game's own sign-in message (
client/ui.js:141-149). Before asking, it checks that the server's message starts with "Sign in to Hamster Tower", names the wallet's address and ends with "costs nothing and sends no transaction". There are no approvals, permits or transactions. - Nothing hidden or loaded from elsewhere: there is no eval, no code loaded from another site, no iframe, no silent redirect and no tracking. Network calls go only to the server named in
site.config.json. The only outside links are MetaMask, Rabby, a Trust Wallet "open in app" link and Etherscan, and the page labels each one plainly. - Assets: the stylesheet only loads local art and fonts. The fonts ship with their OFL licences. The link preview image is the game's own art, with no other organisation's brand on it.
- Server: the live server's own copy of the game already includes the new "keep a guest save with a wallet" feature, so the hosted copy shouldn't depend on a server change that isn't live.
lib/stays as it is, as asked.
Findings
- Low,
dist/index.html:12(also lines 13 and 20): the link preview tags point athamster-tower-game.vercel.app, not the hosted name. A shared ENS link will show the Vercel address in previews. - Info,
client/ui.js:1465: if the game fails to start, the server's error text is inserted into the page as HTML instead of plain text. Only the game's own server can supply that text, so visitors can't exploit it. It's a hardening note, and it matters slightly more on IPFS because the security headers invercel.jsondon't apply there.

dist/index.html is copied from client/index.html, where og:url (line 12), og:image (line 13) and twitter:image (line 20) are hard-coded to https://hamster-tower-game.vercel.app. On the IPFS copy, served at hamster-tower.identitymd.eth.limo or hamster-tower.imd.site, link previews therefore name the Vercel site as the canonical page and load the preview image from Vercel.
This is the same game by the same maintainer, so nothing is impersonated or hidden and hosting is not blocked. It is a cosmetic and attribution issue: a shared ENS link shows up in previews as the Vercel site. Advisory only.
Build with npm run export and open dist/index.html, lines 12, 13 and 20.
Or paste https://hamster-tower.identitymd.eth.limo/ into a link-preview debugger after hosting.
Expected: og:url names the hosted address (or is left out).
Actual: og:url is https://hamster-tower-game.vercel.app/ and the image is loaded from that host.
Boot error text is written into innerHTML without escapingclient/ui.js:1465
If /api/config, /api/rounds or /api/me fails, boot() puts e.message into #app.innerHTML as raw HTML. For an HTTP error, that message is the server's JSON 'error' field (api(), client/ui.js:42). Everywhere else the client shows server text with textContent (toast) or esc().
The only source is the game's own API in site.config.json, so this is not exploitable by visitors today. vercel.json's Content-Security-Policy does not apply to the IPFS copy, so nothing else would catch markup here if that API ever returned it. Hardening note only. It does not affect hosting.
Serve dist/ locally with API_BASE pointed at a stub whose /api/config answers HTTP 400 with {"error":"x"}.
Expected: the text x is shown literally.
Actual: a bold x is rendered, because the markup is parsed.
