    • highSqueekOdometer is owned by the launch factory or by IMDsrc/SqueekOdometer.sol

SqueekOdometer's constructor reverted when deployed as the launch deploys it, on a chain where no other contract exists: take outside values as arguments and check the live contract on first use

Repair: this contract's owner()/admin()/getOwner()/DEFAULT_ADMIN_ROLE resolves to the launch factory (the msg.sender at deploy) or to IMD (tx.origin or the launch wallet). Three ways to fix: (1) if this contract does not need an admin, remove the Ownable/AccessControl inheritance; (2) if it needs an admin but not IMD, add an explicit address owner_ constructor argument and call _transferOwnership(owner_) in the constructor, then reference it from the manifest's $owner resolver so the launch sets a real address; (3) if it needs no further admin after deploy, call renounceOwnership() at the end of the constructor. A requester's app that IMD controls is not what the launch promises; a hook or token the factory can upgrade or pause is also refused.

The verifier deployed the manifest's contracts as the launch deploys them: from the launch factory (msg.sender), with IMD's launch wallet as tx.origin and $owner set, then read owner(), admin(), getOwner() and the admin role, and for a hook opened, seeded, traded and collected the pool from the factory (test/protected/evm_contracts/Owners.protected.t.sol in the protected floor).

  4. Audit permissionsAgent #1200found 1 medium

I found one medium-severity issue in the permissions area. The full write-up is in .imd-findings.json: the finding with its proof test, and coverage rows for all 8 entry points plus 3 extra rows. The scratch test passes now that I've deleted it, and git status shows no changed files.

Finding 1 (medium): two of the contract's dependencies can be upgraded by an outside party, and the docs call them "fixed".

    • What's there: SqueekCore (0xFD6C…e0c4) and SqueekStaking (0x50fd…11ca) are OpenZeppelin v5 upgradeable proxies on Sepolia. I read their admin slots: the admin contracts are 0x21b3…abb3 and 0x08aa…5425. Both are owned by 0xAA2e…c30D, a timelock with a 300-second delay. SqueekNFT (0xC4C7…) is not a proxy.
    • Why it matters: SqueekOdometer stores these addresses permanently, and _read checks only how long the answer is, not whether the values make sense. So Squeekchain can break the odometer with one upgrade, 5 minutes after proposing it. It doesn't need a hostile or new deployment.
    • Effect: if the upgraded core returns an out-of-range work value, src/SqueekOdometer.sol:92 (r.distanceMm = r.work * MM_PER_WORK;) overflows. tokenURI then reverts for every existing token. That breaks the brief's promise that tokenURI cannot revert for an existing token.
    • Other effects of an upgrade: a token minted during a bad upgrade keeps a starting value that real readings can never pass. If the upgrade removes state(), mint fails permanently with CoreUnreadable.
    • Relation to R1: this is the same mechanism as R1 in docs/REVIEW.md. What's new is that someone who can trigger it already exists, and the documented trust model leaves them out.
    • Reproduction: a local test (embedded as proof) puts a well-behaved core behind an OpenZeppelin proxy and has two wallets mint. Then the admin upgrades to a core that returns (0, 2**256-1, 0, 1). Afterwards tokenURI(1) and tokenURI(2) revert with Panic(0x11) instead of showing "unknown" status. I ran it and got that panic.
    • Fix, with no admin role added: check that the words used (s[0], s[1], s[3], p[2], p[5]) fit in uint64. Treat a value that doesn't fit as a failed read: unknown status in metadata, CoreUnreadable at mint. Also record the upgradeability and the timelock in SECURITY.md.

    Coverage:

    • approve, setApprovalForAll, transferFrom and both safeTransferFrom overloads: holds. They are unmodified OpenZeppelin 5.7.0 ERC721 with the usual owner, approved and operator checks.
    • mint: holds for access. It allows one mint per address even after a transfer, checks the 9,999 cap first, makes no receiver callback, and writes nothing unless the core read succeeds.
    • refresh and refreshAll: holds. Anyone can call them; they only emit events.
    • Constructor: holds. It hands out no owner or admin role.
    • Holder tier: holds. A failed staking read falls back to the NFT balance, and the tier grants no privilege.
    • Not raised again: one-per-address sybil minting, trait grinding and the 31337 chain exception are already disclosed in docs/REVIEW.md and docs/SECURITY.md.
    • Not checked: who can propose or execute on the timelock. I only confirmed its 300 s delay.

The local suite passes (86 tests), but it includes the known-defect reproductions, so a green run doesn't mean R1 or R2 are fixed.

    • mediumCore and staking dependencies are upgradeable proxies behind a 300 s timelock, so a third party can make every tokenURI revert with one upgrade; the docs call them 'fixed'src/SqueekOdometer.sol:92

Trust gap (permissions area). SqueekOdometer binds core and staking as immutables (lines 28-30, 52-54) and has no admin who can repoint them. SECURITY.md describes them as 'the fixed Squeekchain contracts' and says the odometer breaks only 'if Squeekchain redeploys'.

On Sepolia (block ~12,079,000), SqueekCore 0xFD6C166D4B8E2962E65746a13e5a0797CD4dE0c4 and SqueekStaking 0x50fd1780526C3186A0c037c7622203bC4fb611ca are OZ v5 TransparentUpgradeableProxies. Their EIP-1967 implementation slots are 0x6869d6102696243fd17013ab955d99cd0c522ad3 and 0xf7027f9759d98190638359920e0422d316b4ea92.

Their admin slots point to ProxyAdmins 0x21b3cb8f00d0d47b246a57d04152d6e11d24abb3 and 0x08aa8200b2a5a863b1eb8396914c49f96f325425, both owned by 0xAA2e9621dE9ac23CBB36D1a1baC4C8B0694cc30D. That owner answers getMinDelay() = 300, so it is a TimelockController. SqueekNFT 0xC4C7... is not a proxy.

As a result, the R1 precondition (a core that returns a successful but out-of-range word) does not need a hostile or broken deployment: an outside party can install it with one upgrade after a 5-minute delay, and it applies to all tokens at once. _read only checks the return length, and reading() uses s[1] as a raw uint256, so line 92 overflows and tokenURI reverts for every existing token.

This breaks the brief's guarantee that 'tokenURI cannot revert for an existing token' and holds for as long as the upgraded implementation stays. The same upgrade at mint time stores a baseline no canonical reading can pass (R1's mint variant). An upgrade that drops state() makes mint revert CoreUnreadable permanently, with no recovery in the odometer.

This finding duplicates R1's mechanism; what it adds is the concrete, already-deployed privileged actor who can trigger it, which the trust model leaves out. Fix, keeping the design (no admin added): range-check the consumed words (s[0], s[1], s[3] <= type(uint64).max; p[2], p[5] likewise) and treat an out-of-range answer as a failed read (UNKNOWN / live=false; CoreUnreadable at mint).

Also record in SECURITY.md that core and staking are upgradeable by that timelock with a 300 s delay.

Sepolia evidence: cast storage 0xFD6C166D4B8E2962E65746a13e5a0797CD4dE0c4 0xb53127684a568b3173ae13b9f8a6016e243e63b6e8ee1178d6a717850b5d6103 returns ProxyAdmin 0x21b3...abb3. cast call 0x21b3... owner() returns 0xAA2e...c30D, and getMinDelay() returns 300.

Local reproduction (proof): deploy an OZ TransparentUpgradeableProxy over a conforming CoreV1 (state() -> settled 0, cumulativeWork 11,048, blockHeight 1) and the odometer against it.

Alice and bob each mint (ids 1, 2), and tokenURI(1) and tokenURI(2) succeed.

      The proxy admin's owner calls ProxyAdmin.upgradeAndCall(proxy, CoreV2, ""), where CoreV2.state() returns (0, 2**256-1, 0, 1).

Expected: tokenURI(1) and tokenURI(2) return metadata with status UNKNOWN / live=false.

Actual: both revert with Panic(0x11) at src/SqueekOdometer.sol:92.

Observed with forge test --match-path test/scratch/UpgradeableCore.t.sol: FAIL, panic 0x11 in SqueekOdometer::tokenURI(1).

  5. Audit flowAgent #1773found 2 medium, 1 low

I wrote 3 findings and 10 coverage rows (all 8 entry points plus 2 invariants) to .imd-findings.json. The JSON validates, and I changed no repository files; the scratch tests I used are deleted. git status shows some untracked dotfiles and editor folders (.bashrc, .claude/, .vscode and others) that my commands did not create.

    Findings

    1. Medium: mint() saves the core's value without checking it (src/SqueekOdometer.sol:66). _read only checks that the call succeeded and returned enough bytes. If SqueekCore returns a cumulative-work value larger than a uint64, it is saved as the token's starting point and can never be changed. That token then shows 0 distance forever. This can actually happen: on Sepolia, SqueekCore (0xFD6C…) is an upgradeable EIP-1967 proxy, so its output can change after an upgrade, while the odometer's addresses are fixed. The docs call these contracts "fixed", which they aren't.
    2. Medium: reading() and tokenURI() revert with an overflow error on the same kind of bad value (SqueekOdometer.sol:92). This breaks the brief's claim that "tokenURI cannot revert for an existing token". The safety check covers reverts and short replies, not a successful reply with a value out of range.
    3. Low: tokenURI reverts from 10,000,000 km (OdometerArt.sol:331, x0 = 30 - w). This happens with completely valid core data, but it is a long way off: live cumulative work is 11,048.

All three were already written up by an earlier contributor in docs/REVIEW.md (R1/R2), and the repo's own test/KnownLimitations.t.sol reproduces them; all three tests pass on this tree. What I added is the live evidence that core and staking are upgradeable proxies, which makes 1 and 2 more likely than the docs assume.

What I checked and found sound

    • Art buffer: the SVG can't overflow its fixed 32,768-byte buffer. The worst case across every stage, status, tier, treat and display combination is about 8.9 KB, and a 512-run fuzz test agreed.
    • Live Sepolia data: the contract reads the right fields from the real state(), roundPage(), accountPower() and balanceOf() replies. Each dependency call costs 28k–60k gas, well under the 500k limit. The three-round status window can never be cut short by the 3-record page limit.
    • Mint rules: one per wallet and the 9,999 cap are checked before the core read. Ids start at 1, and transferring a token away doesn't let a wallet mint again. There are no reentrancy paths.
    • Other entry points: refresh and refreshAll only emit events and are correct. Transfers and approvals are unmodified OpenZeppelin code.

The Slither and Aderyn warnings in the art library didn't lead to anything reportable. Two behaviours I left out as intended and already documented: minters can time their mint to influence their traits, and one person can mint many times by using several wallets.

Not covered: I didn't audit the SqueekCore and SqueekStaking implementations behind the proxies, or who controls their upgrades.

    • mediummint() stores an unvalidated cumulativeWork word as a permanent baseline; a malformed core answer freezes the token's odometer at 0 foreversrc/SqueekOdometer.sol:66

Control flow of mint(): _read (line 159-164) only checks call success and returndatasize >= 2 words; it never checks that word 1 is a canonical uint64 as CoreState.cumulativeWork declares. mint() then writes s[1] into startWork[id] with no range check and no way to rewrite it (no setter, no owner). reading() computes work as s[1] > startWork ? s[1]-startWork : 0, so any baseline above 2^64-1 makes every later canonical reading show 0 distance, Newbie stage and no gear for the life of the token.

The dependency is not fixed code: on Sepolia SqueekCore 0xFD6C166D4B8E2962E65746a13e5a0797CD4dE0c4 is an EIP-1967 proxy (implementation slot 0x3608...2bbc = 0x6869d6102696243fd17013ab955d99cd0c522ad3, runtime 761 bytes), so a Squeekchain upgrade that changes state()'s return layout (e.g. a field inserted before cumulativeWork, or a wider type) is enough to make every mint after it store a wrong or noncanonical baseline, while the odometer's dependency addresses are immutable.

The same prefix-only parsing also means a layout change silently stores a different field (e.g. a round number) as the baseline.

Mock SqueekCore.state() to return successfully abi.encode(uint256(0), type(uint256).max) (two words).

Alice calls mint(): expected revert CoreUnreadable (word 1 is not a uint64); actual: succeeds, id 1, startWork(1) == 2^256-1.

Then core returns canonical state with cumulativeWork = type(uint64).max: reading(1).distanceMm expected (2^64-1 - real baseline)*887, actual 0, permanently.

Reproduced by the repo's own test/KnownLimitations.t.sol::test_knownLimitation_mintAcceptsNoncanonicalWorkPrefix (passes on this tree, i.e. the defect is present).

Fix: in mint, revert CoreUnreadable when s[1] > type(uint64).max (and likewise s[0]); no admin needed.

    • mediumreading()/tokenURI() panic on an out-of-range core word, breaking the stated 'tokenURI cannot revert for an existing token' guaranteesrc/SqueekOdometer.sol:92

In reading(), a successful state() read with word 1 above uint64 range is accepted (ok = true) and r.work = s[1] - startWork is used unchecked-in-range; r.work * 887 overflows under checked arithmetic and reverts with Panic(0x11).

The brief's review point says every Squeekchain read is a capped staticcall 'so tokenURI cannot revert for an existing token'; the failure boundary only handles revert/short answers, not malformed successful answers, so the art goes down (marketplaces show broken metadata) for every token while such a value is served.

Precondition is a malformed/upgraded dependency answer; reachable because SqueekCore on Sepolia is an upgradeable EIP-1967 proxy (impl 0x6869d6102696243fd17013ab955d99cd0c522ad3). The same unchecked prefix parsing applies to uint64(s[0]) / uint64(s[3]) truncations and to roundPage words 2 and 5 (the dynamic offset word 0 is never checked).

Mint token 1 at work 11,048.

      Mock core.state() to return abi.encode(0, type(uint256).max, 0, 1).

Call reading(1) and tokenURI(1): expected live=false/'Unknown' metadata (as for a reverting core); actual both revert Panic(0x11).

Reproduced by test/KnownLimitations.t.sol::test_knownLimitation_oversizedWorkWordPanicsOnReadingAndURI (passes on this tree).

Fix: treat the read as failed (ok=false) when s[1] or s[0] or s[3] exceeds type(uint64).max, and in _status when p[2]/p[5] exceed uint64.

    • lowtokenURI reverts once displayed distance reaches 10,000,000 km: x0 = 30 - w underflowssrc/art/OdometerArt.sol:331

_odometer sums glyph widths (4 px per digit) of kmText; from 1,000 km kmText prints whole kilometres, so 8 digits give w = 32 > 30 and the checked subtraction panics. This is inside the declared uint64 work domain with a fully canonical core, so tokenURI for that token reverts while reading() still works. Practically far away (live core cumulativeWork is 11,048 on 2026-11-07), hence low.

Mint with core cumulativeWork 0, then set canonical cumulativeWork = 11,273,957,158: tokenURI(1) succeeds.

Set 11,273,957,159 (distance 10,000,000,000,033 mm): expected a rendered image, actual Panic(0x11).

      Reproduced by test/KnownLimitations.t.sol::test_knownLimitation_largeCanonicalWorkOverflowsDisplayWidth.

Fix: saturate or abbreviate the display text (or clamp x0 at 0).

  6. Audit mathAgent #810found 1 medium, 3 low

I found four math defects in SqueekOdometer: one medium and three low. All are in .imd-findings.json with a coverage row for each of the 8 entry points, plus 9 rows for the math invariants I checked. No repository files were changed. I wrote three proof tests under test/scratch/, confirmed each fails on the current code for the reason stated, then deleted the folder. Their full source is embedded in findings 1, 3 and 4.

The brief says tokenURI cannot revert for an existing token. That claim is false in two ways (findings 1 and 3).

    #SeverityWhereFailing input
1mediumsrc/SqueekOdometer.sol:92 r.distanceMm = r.work * MM_PER_WORK;SqueekCore state() succeeds but returns work above the uint64 range, e.g. 2^256-1. reading and tokenURI revert with an overflow panic instead of falling back to "unknown". Has a proof.
2lowsrc/SqueekOdometer.sol:66 startWork[id] = s[1];mint() stores an out-of-range starting value without checking it. Every later normal reading is below it, so the token shows 0 km forever, and the wallet's one mint is used up.
    3lowsrc/art/OdometerArt.sol:331 uint256 x0 = 30 - w;Starting from 0, total work of 11,273,957,159 (10,000,000 km) gives 8 digits, 32 px wide. The subtraction underflows and tokenURI reverts. 11,273,957,158 still renders. Has a proof.
4low (new)same lineOff by one pixel: the text sits one pixel too far left. At 112,740 work (100,000,380 mm, shown as "100.00") the first digit is drawn in column 8, on the bezel, outside the 9–30 screen. This affects every token between 100 and 999.99 km, which is the whole reachable top stage ("Legend"). x0 = 31 - w would fit it exactly. Has a proof.

The contributor who adapted the code had already documented findings 1–3 as R1 and R2 in docs/REVIEW.md; I reproduced them independently. Finding 4 is new. The brief says not to change the art, so fixing 3 and 4 is the author's call.

    What holds:

    • Mint cap: stops at exactly 9,999, one per wallet.
    • Distance stages: each starts exactly at 1/5/10/25/50/100 km.
    • Kilometre text: rounds down correctly, e.g. 999,999,999 mm shows "999.99" and 1e9 shows "1000".
    • Status and pace: I checked the round-page read against the live SqueekCore on Sepolia. It returns only rounds that have records, the values sit where the code reads them, and a 3-round window can't hit the 3-record limit.
    • Art helpers: the "just levelled" confetti, the 100 km pips and the spin speed have no arithmetic problems.
    • Buffers and gas: the worst cases I measured came to about 9 KB of SVG (the buffer is 32 KB) and about 5M gas to render.
    • Trait odds: the thresholds match the documented percentages. Rolls can be ground by choosing when to mint, which is documented as intended.
    • Other entry points: refresh and refreshAll, plus the standard ERC-721 functions, involve no math.

Not checked: the Squeek-power thresholds that set the water-bottle tier assume the staking contract reports power with 18 decimals. I couldn't find a live staker to confirm this, because the public Sepolia RPC had pruned the history I needed. That row is marked unreached.

    • mediumOversized cumulativeWork word from SqueekCore panics reading() and tokenURI() instead of degrading (distance multiplication overflow)src/SqueekOdometer.sol:92

_read only checks call success and minimum return length; it never range-checks the copied words against the declared uint64 cumulativeWork. reading() uses word 1 as a raw uint256 (line 86: r.work = s[1] > r.startWork ? s[1] - r.startWork : 0;) and multiplies it by 887 under checked arithmetic. Any successful answer whose word 1 exceeds startWork + floor((2^256-1)/887) makes reading() and tokenURI() revert with Panic(0x11).

This breaks the brief's stated guarantee that a broken or hostile dependency can only fail its read and that tokenURI cannot revert for an existing token. Ownership and transfers are not affected. This is the same defect as the adapter's R1 in docs/REVIEW.md, now reproduced independently.

Fix: treat a word-1 value above type(uint64).max as a failed read (live=false, status UNKNOWN), or cap work before multiplying.

      Deploy with a core whose state() returns abi.encode(0, W, 0, 1).

      Mint token 1 with W = 11,048.

      Then set W = 2^256-1. reading(1) and tokenURI(1) revert with Panic(0x11).

The expected result is metadata with live=false and status Unknown, or with distance capped.

The same failure is in test/KnownLimitations.t.sol::test_knownLimitation_oversizedWorkWordPanicsOnReadingAndURI.

    • lowmint() stores an unvalidated, out-of-range startWork, freezing that token's odometer at 0 foreversrc/SqueekOdometer.sol:66

mint() checks only that the state() read succeeded and returned two words. A non-canonical word 1 above type(uint64).max is stored as the token's permanent baseline. Every later canonical reading has s[1] <= 2^64-1 < startWork, so line 86 clamps work to 0.

The token then shows 0.00 km, Newbie and no gear for its whole life. The minter's one-per-wallet mint is used up, so it cannot be redone.

      Fix: revert CoreUnreadable when s[1] > type(uint64).max.

Make state() return abi.encode(uint256(0), type(uint256).max) (two words) and call mint() from alice: it succeeds with startWork(1) = 2^256-1.

Restore a canonical core with cumulativeWork = type(uint64).max. reading(1).distanceMm is 0, where it should be the distance since a valid baseline, or the mint should have reverted with CoreUnreadable.

      See test/KnownLimitations.t.sol::test_knownLimitation_mintAcceptsNoncanonicalWorkPrefix.

    • lowOdometer text x-position underflows at 10,000,000 km (a valid uint64 work delta), so tokenURI revertssrc/art/OdometerArt.sol:331

kmText prints whole kilometres from 1,000 km on. Each digit glyph is 3 px wide plus 1 px of spacing. At 10,000,000 km there are 8 digits, so w = 32 > 30 and the checked subtraction panics. reading() still works, but tokenURI() reverts while the distance stays at or above that value.

The work delta is inside the declared uint64 domain. This is the same defect as the adapter's R2, reproduced independently.

Fix: saturate or abbreviate the displayed text, or clamp x0 to a minimum.

Use a canonical MockCore with baseline 0 and mint token 1.

      With cumulativeWork = 11,273,957,158, tokenURI(1) succeeds (7 digits).

      With cumulativeWork = 11,273,957,159, distanceMm is 10,000,000,000,033 and tokenURI(1) reverts with Panic(0x11).

The expected result is a rendered image.

    • lowOff-by-one in odometer text alignment: every 100.00–999.99 km (Legend) reading draws its first digit on the bezel at x=8, outside the 9..30 screensrc/art/OdometerArt.sol:331

      The screen is <rect x="9" y="34" width="22" height="5">, columns 9..30 (line 320), inside the bezel <rect x="8" ... width="24"> (line 312). w adds glyph width + 1 for every character, trailing space included, so the text spans x0 .. x0+w-2. With x0 = 30 - w the last lit column is 28 and columns 29..30 are always empty.

The first column is 30 - w, which is 8 for the widest pre-1,000 km text: "100.00" through "999.99" (5 digits x 4 + '.' x 2 = 22 px, exactly the screen width). Every token from 100 km to 999.99 km, which is the whole reachable Legend range (about 112,740 to 1.13M work units), therefore paints its leading digit one pixel onto the bezel colour. For 6-digit and 7-digit whole kilometres (100,000 km and up) it starts at x=6 or x=2, off the casing.

The arithmetic means x0 = 31 - w: "999.99" then fills columns 9..30 exactly and every shorter text stays right-aligned on the screen. The brief asks for no art changes, so this is reported for the author's decision.

Use a canonical core with baseline 0 and mint token 1 (display roll 2, LED).

Set cumulativeWork = 112,740, so distanceMm is 100,000,380 and the text is "100.00".

The decoded SVG's digit path contains "M8.4 35.5h.2" and "M8.4 38.5h.2" (for run displays, "M8 35.5h2" and "M8 38.5h3"): pixels in column 8, on the bezel rect x=8.

The expected result is all digit pixels within columns 9..30.

Rendering the OdometerArt harness at 100,000,380 mm with display 0 shows M9 34.5h1M8 35.5h2...M8 38.5h3 and nothing in columns 29-30.

  7. Audit economicsAgent #1678found 6 low, 2 info

I finished the economics audit and wrote 8 findings to .imd-findings.json: 6 low and 2 info, nothing critical or high. No funds are at risk, since the contract has no payable path, fee or payout. The findings file is the only thing I added, and my scratch tests are removed.

All 8 entry points have a coverage row: 7 hold and mint() has findings. The file also has 12 extra rows for invariants, attacks and scope.

    #SeverityFindingConcrete failing case
1lowThe odometer baseline is settled work, so work run before the mint counts as distance "since mint", and minters can time thisMint just before the settlement of live round 197: 443,500 mm instead of 0. With 16 rounds pending it reaches Jogger at the live peak rate, or Legend at the protocol cap.
2lowOne actor can use up the whole 9,999 supply and lock everyone else out for goodThrowaway contracts that mint from their constructor and can never move the token: about 1.55e9 gas, or about 8 Sepolia blocks. After that, mint() always reverts with SoldOut.
3lowA failed dependency read is published as false factsWith core and staking reads failing, a staked Legend token reports 0.00 km, Newbie and "Squeek Holder: No".
4lowThe site treats idOf as ownershipAfter a transfer, the seller still sees "Your odometer, #1" and the buyer sees no token. I traced this in the code but didn't run it in a browser.
5lowKnown issue R2: the brief's "tokenURI cannot revert" is false at 10,000,000 kmThat distance is about 21.4 years away at the protocol's maximum rate, and about 8,500 years at the live average.
6lowKnown issue R1: an oversized work value panics metadata or freezes a token's baselineOnly reachable through a privileged upgrade of the SqueekCore proxy that breaks its own interface.
7infoRare traits can be picked by anyoneA wrapper contract that reverts on a bad roll, plus 121 filler wallets, gets a Diamond at id 122 every time.
8infoThe documented tools/check_upstream.py check failsIt exits 1 on 280 reformatted lib/ files, but the compiled bytecode is identical to a build with the upstream lib/.

    How findings were checked:

    • Findings 1, 2, 3 and 7: reproduced with scratch tests against mock dependencies.
    • Findings 5 and 6: the repo's existing test_knownLimitation_* tests cover these and pass on this tree.
    • Finding 8: confirmed by running the check and comparing the two builds.
    • Proofs: none attached, since they are only required for critical or high findings.

    Leads I ruled out:

    • SVG buffer overflow: the largest SVG I could produce was 9,049 of 32,768 bytes.
    • Crafted gas on reading(): a sweep of gas limits on mocks never produced a false result.
    • Dependency layouts: they match live Sepolia, where a fork mint and tokenURI both succeeded, using 2.2M gas for tokenURI.
    • Staking tiers: a real staker with 6,600 power got tier 2, as the thresholds intend.

    Not reached:

    • Squeekchain contracts: I checked their interfaces, public docs and live answers, but not their implementation source or upgrade behaviour.
    • The site: I read dist/app.js for flow gaps but didn't run the page or a wallet.

    Decisions for you:

    • Findings 1–3: fixing these in the contract conflicts with the brief's "do not change the contract", so that's your call. Finding 2 would also change the free, open mint.
    • Brief wording: the "tokenURI cannot revert" claim in docs/IMD_JOB.md is wrong either way and should be corrected.
    • Finding 8: I couldn't tell whether the reformatting came from an earlier contributor or the import pipeline.

    • lowBaseline uses settled work, so work run before the mint counts as distance 'since mint', and the minter can choose when to mintsrc/SqueekOdometer.sol:66

Seam: execution x periphery x first principles. The stated guarantee is that a token 'shows how far he has run since' mint (README, SqueekOdometer NatSpec, and the site's 'Your odometer starts counting now', dist/app.js).

The baseline is SqueekCore's settled cumulativeWork, which lags the wheel: live, a round's work is only settled about 36 s after the round ends (round 437 ended 20:40:00 UTC, confirmed 20:40:36), so up to about 10.6 minutes of work already run is unsettled at any moment. Everything in that gap lands after the baseline and is credited permanently to a token that did not exist when it was run. mintedAt is stored but never used to correct this.

The gap can be timed: api.squeekchain.com/v1/status publishes live work ahead of settlement and submitRounds is visible on Sepolia, so a minter can land just before a settlement to get the credit. Two wallets minting either side of one settlement stay apart by that amount forever. Impact is cosmetic but permanent: distance, stage, gear and confetti are the collection's only progression.

No funds move. Fixing this changes the contract, which the brief says to preserve, so it needs the requester's decision. One option is reverting mint() while the settled frontier lags the current round by more than one round; the requester could also keep the behaviour and correct the wording.

Mock core, real SqueekOdometer. Live history: round 197 has 500 work, the live maximum. State: settled=196, work=11048, timestamp = genesis 1793735400 + 197*600 + 10 (round 197 is over, settlement pending).

      1. Wallet A calls mint(): startWork=11048.
      2. Core settles round 197: settled=197, work=11548.
      3. Wallet B calls mint(): startWork=11548. Expected: both show 0 mm, since no wheel turn happened after either mint. Actual: reading(A).distanceMm=443500, reading(B).distanceMm=0, and the difference never closes. A batch makes it larger: wallet C mints at work 11548 with 16 active rounds pending (maxRoundsPerBatch=16), and at the live-peak 500 per round, settlement gives work 19548, so reading(C).distanceMm=7096000 and stage=2 (Jogger) with no running after mint. At the protocol cap maxWorkPerRound=10000 it gives 141920000 mm and stage=6 (Legend).
    • lowThe 9,999 cap can be exhausted for negligible cost by throwaway contracts, leaving tokens stuck and locking out every other wallet foreversrc/SqueekOdometer.sol:59

Starving shared capacity. The one-per-wallet check is enforced literally, but an address costs nothing, including a contract that mints from its constructor. Such a contract has no runtime code, so the token can never leave it and the supply is destroyed rather than merely hoarded.

There is no burn, no owner and no reset, so the state is permanent; the only remedy is a new deployment, which loses every baseline. docs/REVIEW.md says many-wallet minting is possible but gives no cost and does not mention the permanent lockout. The IMD_JOB brief asks for 'one mint per wallet and the 9,999 cap' to be checked: both hold literally, but they do not ration the supply.

Measured cost: 15,518,193 gas per 100 mints, about 1.55e9 gas in total. Live Sepolia (block gas limit 200,000,000, eth_gasPrice 23 wei on 2026-11-06) takes that in about 8 blocks for roughly 0.00000004 ETH at that price. The attacker gains nothing except denying the Genesis Code Lane collection to everyone else, and any fix (allowlist, Squeek-holder gating, a limit per block) changes the agreed free, open mint, so this is a scope decision for the requester.

Deploy Factory with go(odo,n) running for i<n: new OnceMinter(odo), where OnceMinter's constructor only calls odo.mint().

Call go(odo,100), then go in batches of at most 200 until totalMinted()==9999 (run locally; passes).

Expected if the cap rationed supply: other wallets could still mint.

Actual: every token sits in a contract with empty runtime and can never transfer, and a new wallet's mint() reverts SoldOut() permanently.

    • lowA failed dependency read is published as false facts: a Legend token reports Newbie, 0.00 km and, for a staker, 'Squeek Holder: No'src/SqueekOdometer.sol:89

Dependency failure and view/guarantee divergence. On a failed state() read, work stays 0 and is then processed as if it were real: distanceMm=0 and stage=0, so the art loses the token's background, gear, wheel metal and pips. The SVG digits show '?', but the JSON (OdometerArt.sol:133) still emits the numeric attribute 0.00 plus Stage 'Newbie'; only Status says Unknown.

The design spec says the token 'shows no distance' in this case. reading() does expose live=false, but tokenURI metadata has no such flag, and marketplaces index attributes and cache them until a refresh. _tier has the same flaw: if accountPower fails, it falls back to the wallet balance, and a staker's wallet holds 0 because staking owns the deposited Squeeks, so the owner is reported as a non-holder rather than unknown. docs/SECURITY.md describes these fallbacks as degraded behaviour but does not say they publish false values.

The trigger needs a real failure: live state() costs 15,581 gas against the 500,000 cap and reads survive a pause, so this means a bad upgrade of the SqueekCore or SqueekStaking proxy, or a retired dependency. The outage does not self-heal in caches because no event fires when reads recover.

Severity is low: nothing is lost on-chain and recovery restores the on-chain output.

Owner staked with accountPower=(113380e18,0), wallet balance 0.

      Mint at work 0, then core.cumulativeWork=200000: reading gives distanceMm=177400000, stage=6, tier=4.

Now make state(), roundPage() and accountPower() revert.

Expected: distance, stage and holder traits absent or unknown.

      Actual: reading gives live=false, distanceMm=0, stage=0, tier=0, holder=false, and tokenURI decodes to attributes Distance (km)=0.00, Stage=Newbie, Status=Unknown, Squeek Holder=No, Water Bottle=None, Pace=0, Squeek Block Height=0 (run locally; passes).

    • lowThe site treats idOf as 'your token', so a seller keeps seeing a token they no longer own and a buyer sees nonedist/app.js:47

Multi-step flow whose end state contradicts intent (mint, then transfer). idOf is documented as mint history that is never cleared, and the contract correctly lets tokens transfer. showMine() uses it as the ownership index and never calls ownerOf. After a sale the seller's page still says 'Your odometer, #id', 'km since your mint' and 'Minted', and redraw() targets that id.

A buyer who has not minted sees no token and 'Yours shows up here after you mint', and a buyer who has minted sees only the token they minted. The contract has no ERC721Enumerable, and the site reads no Transfer logs, so purchased tokens cannot appear at all. The fix is in the site only: check ownerOf(idOf) and label the token accordingly, or index Transfer logs.

This is not a contract defect.

Wallet A calls mint() (id 1), then transferFrom(A,B,1).

      On-chain: idOf(A)=1, ownerOf(1)=B, idOf(B)=0 (covered by test_transferringAwayDoesNotRestoreMintEligibility).

      Site connected as A.

Expected: A owns nothing and the page does not call #1 theirs.

Actual: showMine reads id=1 and renders 'Your odometer, #1' with the mint button reading 'Minted'.

      Site connected as B.

Expected: B's token 1 is shown.

    • lowR2 adjudicated: the brief's 'tokenURI cannot revert' is false at 10,000,000 km, but live limits put that about 21 years away at the protocol's maximum ratesrc/art/OdometerArt.sol:331

Interface guarantee. docs/IMD_JOB.md line 36 tells reviewers that tokenURI cannot revert for an existing token, and x0 underflows once the text is wider than 30 px, while reading() keeps working. This confirms disclosed finding R2 and adds its reachability. Live configuration has maxWorkPerRound=10000 and roundDuration=600.

The first failing delta, 11,273,957,159 work, needs 1,127,396 rounds at the cap, about 21.4 years. At the live peak of 500 per round it needs about 429 years, and at the live average (11,048 work over 437 rounds, about 25 per round) about 8,500 years. A larger cap would need an upgrade or reconfiguration of the core.

So this is a false claim in the brief rather than a near-term risk, and I found no other revert for canonical data: worst-case SVG is 9,049 bytes against the 32,768 buffer, and worst-case render is 2.8M gas. The cheapest correction is the wording of the brief's claim; the contract fix is a saturated display.

Mint at work 0, set cumulativeWork=11273957159.

      Expected per brief: tokenURI(1) returns.

Actual: reverts Panic(0x11); 11273957158 succeeds (test_knownLimitation_largeCanonicalWorkOverflowsDisplayWidth passes on this tree).

    • lowR1 adjudicated: the only way to freeze a token at a bad baseline or panic its metadata is an out-of-range word from SqueekCore, which needs a bad proxy upgradesrc/SqueekOdometer.sol:86

Seam: execution x periphery. _read checks length only, so a word above uint64 is used as is. r.work * MM_PER_WORK can panic, which breaks the same brief claim as R2, and mint() stores such a word permanently, so that token shows 0 distance for every later canonical value, with no repair path.

This confirms disclosed finding R1 and adds its reachability: live state() and roundPage() return canonical typed words in the layout _read assumes (checked against the live core, word 1 = cumulativeWork, page word 5 = end.cumulativeWork). SqueekCore is a proxy (implementation 0x6869d6102696243fd17013ab955d99cd0c522ad3, proxy admin owned by a timelock), so an out-of-range word requires a privileged upgrade that breaks its own ABI.

No unprivileged actor can trigger it. mint() is the part worth fixing if the contract is ever revised, since a baseline written during such a window cannot be repaired afterwards.

      Mint token 1 at work 11048, then state() returns [0, 2**256-1, 0, 1].

      Expected per brief: unknown metadata.

      Actual: reading(1) and tokenURI(1) revert Panic(0x11).

Separately, state() returns [0, 2256-1] during mint(): startWork(1)=2256-1, and at cumulativeWork=2**64-1 the distance is 0 (test_knownLimitation_* pass on this tree).

    • infoRare traits can be selected by anyone: the roll is known before minting and a wrapper can revert on a bad resultsrc/SqueekOdometer.sol:78

Atomic extraction. The roll depends only on the next id and settled work, both public and constant between mints and settlements, so the advertised odds (Diamond treat 2%, Mechanical display 3%) apply only to minters who do not check. A minter can compute the outcome off-chain, or use a wrapper that reverts on a bad roll, which keeps the wallet's single mint unspent.

Cheap filler wallets can advance the id to the rare value. docs/SECURITY.md accepts that minting can be influenced and that no secure randomness is required, so this is reported for the numbers rather than as a defect to fix.

One correction: SECURITY.md says 'address creation' can influence traits, but the address is not an input to the hash; only id and start work are.

      startWork=11048.

      Computing keccak256(abi.encode(id,11048)) for ids 1..9999 gives 196 ids with pouch=Diamond, the first being 122, 138, 214, 322 and 334.

Sniper.snipe() calls mint() then requires reading(id).pouch==4.

It reverts 'not diamond' for ids 1..121 and leaves its eligibility intact; 121 filler wallets advance the id, and the next snipe() mints id 122 with pouch=4 (run locally; passes).

Expected per README: a 2% roll.

Actual: a 100% hit rate for this minter.

    • infoThe documented provenance check fails on this tree: 280 lib files are reformatted, though the compiled contract is byte-identicaldocs/VALIDATION.md:27

README.md and docs/VALIDATION.md state that the application, art, vendored libraries and site are preserved byte for byte and that tools/check_upstream.py verifies it. On this tree the check fails: 280 of the 302 lib/ entries differ from docs/UPSTREAM.json.

Their contents have been reformatted and converted from CRLF to LF; for example ERC721.sol has hash 19a3e707... against the recorded a6a6f632..., and its multi-line return expressions and import order differ. src/ hashes checked match (SqueekOdometer.sol and OdometerArt.sol).

I checked for a deployment impact: with the upstream archive's lib/ (the tarball matches the recorded archiveSha256 fa3071bc...) and this tree's src/ and foundry.toml, forge build produces identical creation and runtime bytecode (runtime sha256 prefix de13b896d8e79f2c, initcode d90b5c9fa95bafb0, 23,212 bytes). So nothing deployed changes.

The failure is in the stated evidence: a launch check that runs this command gets exit 1, and the 'unchanged' claim is untrue at the byte level. I could not tell whether the reformatting came from an earlier contributor or from the import pipeline. The fix is to regenerate UPSTREAM.json's lib/ hashes for the reformatted files or restore the original bytes, and correct the claim.

Run python3 tools/check_upstream.py at the tree root.

Expected per README and VALIDATION.md: 'Checked 327 unchanged files' and exit 0.

Actual: exit 1, 'Imported files differ from pinned upstream:' followed by 280 paths, all under lib/.

    • mediumUnchecked work words break metadata availability and can poison a mint baselinesrc/SqueekOdometer.sol:92

The brief requires existing tokenURI calls to survive hostile Squeekchain dependencies. _read checks only success and length; it does not enforce the uint64 cumulativeWork domain. reading multiplies the unchecked word by 887 and can panic. mint uses the same unchecked word as a permanent baseline, consuming the wallet's only mint even when no canonical future reading can exceed that baseline.

This confirms R1 in docs/REVIEW.md; the previous passing KnownLimitations tests were reproducing the defect, not validating correct behavior. Impact is conditional on malformed dependency data and affects metadata/distance, not ERC721 custody or authorization. Validate consumed typed fields; reject malformed mint state with CoreUnreadable and degrade malformed live reads without reverting.

Deploy on chain 31337 with the self-contained MalformedWorkCore fixture.

Mint at work 0, then return a successful state() response of eight words with word 1 = 2**256-1.

Expected: existing token metadata remains available (unknown/fallback is acceptable).

Actual: tokenURI(1) reverts with Panic(0x11) in reading.

Separately, before mint set word 1 = 2**64.

Expected: CoreUnreadable and no mint state consumed.

Actual: mint succeeds, records baseline 18446744073709551616, and no canonical uint64 work can advance it.

    • lowCanonical cumulative work can underflow the SVG distance text positionsrc/art/OdometerArt.sol:331

The renderer computes x0 = 30 - w without limiting the length of the kilometre string. Eight whole-kilometre digits need 32 pixels, causing checked subtraction to revert. The input is within the declared uint64 work domain, so even an ABI-conforming dependency can make existing tokenURI calls fail.

This confirms R2 in docs/REVIEW.md. Reaching this distance in ordinary operation is extreme; ownership and transfers are unaffected. Use a bounded visual representation while retaining the actual numeric distance in metadata.

Mint token 1 with cumulative work 0 using the typed DisplayWidthCore fixture.

Set cumulative work to 11273957158: tokenURI(1) succeeds.

Increase it by one to 11273957159: reading(1) correctly returns 10000000000033 mm, but tokenURI(1) reverts with Panic(0x11).

Expected: a valid metadata/SVG response for both canonical values.

The failure persists for larger displayed distances, including uint64.max.

  9. Audit judgeAgent #729found 2 medium, 4 low, 2 info

The review is complete. .imd-findings.json holds 8 findings and 11 coverage rows, no repository file was changed (the untracked entries in git status are the sandbox's device-node dotfiles, not my work), and the three embedded proofs fail on this tree for the stated reasons.

What the specialists reported, after reproduction and merging

    • Kept as medium, merged from five reports (math, flow, permissions, tester, economics R1): a successful SqueekCore answer whose cumulativeWork word exceeds uint64 makes reading() and tokenURI() panic for every existing token, contradicting the brief's "tokenURI cannot revert" claim. I verified the permissions specialist's reachability evidence on Sepolia: core and staking are EIP-1967 proxies whose admin owner is a timelock answering getMinDelay() = 300. Proof attached.
    • Kept as medium, split out as its own finding (different function, different fix): mint() stores that same unvalidated word as a permanent baseline, freezing the token at 0.00 km and spending the wallet's only mint. Proof attached.
    • Kept as low, merged from four reports: the SVG text origin underflows at 10,000,000 km, a canonical value about 21 years away at the protocol cap. Proof attached.
    • Kept as low: the digits sit one pixel too far left; every 100 to 999.99 km reading paints its first digit on the bezel. I reproduced this on the rendered path data rather than trusting the arithmetic.
    • Kept as low: on a failed dependency read the JSON publishes 0.00 km, Newbie and "Squeek Holder: No" while the SVG shows "?".
    • Kept as low: the site uses idOf as the ownership index, so sellers keep seeing a sold token and buyers see none.
    • Kept as info: sybil exhaustion of the 9,999 cap by constructor-minting contracts (measured gas), and the documented provenance check exiting 1 on 280 reformatted lib files while the compiled bytecode is unchanged.

Dropped: the "settled work baseline" finding, because the contract does exactly what its NatSpec and the brief state (baseline is settled cumulativeWork at mint), and the trait-sniping finding, because SECURITY.md already accepts it and no advertised guarantee is broken.

My own pass found nothing beyond these. The live roundPage and state words match the layout _read assumes, the manifest's three addresses are correct and in constructor order, sizes are within limits, and the Slither and aderyn lines are false positives (w is zero-initialised, encodePacked builds display strings not hashes, READ_GAS is used in assembly). Coverage answers all 8 entry points: 7 hold, mint() carries finding 2, plus three invariant rows.

    • mediumreading() and tokenURI() panic on a successful SqueekCore answer whose cumulativeWork word exceeds uint64, breaking the 'tokenURI cannot revert for an existing token' guaranteesrc/SqueekOdometer.sol:92

_read (lines 159-164) checks only call success and a minimum return length; it never range-checks the copied words against the uint64 fields CoreState declares. reading() then uses word 1 raw: line 86 r.work = s[1] > r.startWork ? s[1] - r.startWork : 0; and line 92 multiplies it by 887 under checked arithmetic.

Any successful state() answer whose word 1 exceeds startWork + floor((2**256-1)/887) reverts reading() and tokenURI() with Panic(0x11) for every existing token, instead of degrading to live=false / status Unknown as a reverting or short answer does. The brief (docs/IMD_JOB.md line 36) and the READ_GAS comment (line 25) both state that a broken or hostile dependency can only fail its read and that tokenURI cannot revert for an existing token; that claim is false.

Reachability: SqueekCore 0xFD6C166D4B8E2962E65746a13e5a0797CD4dE0c4 and SqueekStaking 0x50fd1780526C3186A0c037c7622203bC4fb611ca on Sepolia are EIP-1967 proxies (implementation slots 0x6869d6...2ad3 and 0xf7027f...ea92, admin slots 0x21b3cb...4abb3 and 0x08aa82...5425; verified with cast storage on 2026-11-06).

Both ProxyAdmins answer owner() = 0xAA2e9621dE9ac23CBB36D1a1baC4C8B0694cc30D, which answers getMinDelay() = 300, so an upgrade by that timelock with a 5-minute delay is enough to change state()'s layout or types; the odometer binds the proxy addresses as immutables and has no repair path. No unprivileged actor can trigger it, and no funds or ownership are affected, so this is medium: a broken stated guarantee under a specific (privileged dependency) condition.

Merged: audit_math #1, audit_flow #2, audit_permissions #1, write_foundry_tests #1 (reading half) and audit_economics 'R1 adjudicated' (reading half) report this same root cause; the proxy/timelock evidence from audit_permissions is kept as its reachability.

The same unchecked prefix parsing truncates uint64(s[0]) and uint64(s[3]) and reads roundPage words 2 and 5 without checking the dynamic offset word; live Sepolia answers were checked (state() word 1 = 11,048; roundPage(435,438,3) words 2 and 5 = 11,048) and match the assumed layout today. Fix keeping the design (no admin): treat a word above type(uint64).max in s[0], s[1], s[3] (and p[2], p[5] in _status) as a failed read, i.e. ok = false.

      Chain 31337.

      Deploy DirtyCore whose fallback returns abi.encode(0, word1, 0, 1) for any selector, and SqueekOdometer(core=DirtyCore, 0xBEEF1, 0xBEEF2).

      Set word1 = 11,048; alice calls mint() -> id 1, startWork(1) = 11,048.

      Set word1 = 2**256-1.

      Call reading(1) and tokenURI(1).

Expected (brief): metadata with live=false and status Unknown, or a capped distance.

Actual: both revert with Panic(0x11) at line 92 ((2**256-1-11,048)*887 overflows).

Ran forge test --match-path test/scratch/P1.t.sol: FAIL, panic 0x11.

The attached proof from audit_math (Proof_227e60081d52) fails for exactly this reason; audit_permissions' proof (an OZ TransparentUpgradeableProxy over a conforming CoreV1, upgraded by its admin's owner to a CoreV2 returning (0, 2**256-1, 0, 1)) also fails with Panic(0x11) on tokenURI(1) after the upgrade.

mint() (line 61) reads state() with _read(…, 2) and only requires the call to succeed with two words; line 66 writes s[1] into startWork[id] with no range check.

There is no setter, owner or burn, so the baseline can never be corrected. reading() line 86 clamps work to 0 whenever s[1] <= startWork, so a baseline above type(uint64).max makes every later canonical reading show 0 distance, stage Newbie and no gear for the life of the token, while the minter's one-per-wallet eligibility (idOf) is spent.

This is a distinct defect from finding 1 (different function, different fix: revert instead of degrade) with the same precondition: a successful but non-canonical state() answer during the mint, which on Sepolia requires an upgrade of the SqueekCore proxy by its timelock (see finding 1).

Medium because the damage is permanent for every token minted during such a window and there is no repair path; it is conditional on a privileged dependency change and affects only cosmetic progression, not custody.

Merged: audit_math #2, audit_flow #1, write_foundry_tests #1 (mint half) and audit_economics 'R1 adjudicated' (mint half). Fix keeping the design: in mint(), revert CoreUnreadable when s[1] > type(uint64).max (and s[0] likewise), so nothing is written.

      Chain 31337.

Deploy MalformedWorkCore whose state() returns uint256[8] with word 1 = work, and SqueekOdometer(core, core, core).

      Set work = 2**64 (one above uint64.max).

      Call mint().

Expected: revert CoreUnreadable, totalMinted 0, idOf(caller) 0, and a later mint at work 42 gives id 1 with startWork 42.

      Actual: mint succeeds, id 1, startWork(1) = 18446744073709551616, idOf(caller) = 1.

Then with a canonical core at cumulativeWork = 2**64-1 (the largest value the ABI can ever carry), reading(1).distanceMm is 0 and stage is 0, and a second mint() from the same wallet reverts AlreadyMinted (test/scratch/Judge.t.sol::test_mint_storesNoncanonicalBaseline_thenFrozen passes, i.e. the defect is present). forge test --match-path test/scratch/MintBaselineProof.t.sol: FAIL, 'next call did not revert as expected'.

    • lowtokenURI reverts once the displayed distance reaches 10,000,000 km (a canonical uint64 work delta): x0 = 30 - w underflows for eight whole-kilometre digitssrc/art/OdometerArt.sol:331

kmText prints whole kilometres from 1,000 km on (line 169). _odometer sums each glyph's width + 1 (digits are 3 px, so 4 px each; line 329). At 10,000,000 km the text has 8 digits, w = 32 > 30, and the checked subtraction on line 331 panics. reading() still works; tokenURI() reverts for that token for as long as its distance stays at or above the boundary. The input is ABI-conforming (work delta 11,273,957,159 fits uint64), so unlike finding 1 no malformed dependency is needed.

Reachability is remote: the live core reports cumulativeWork 11,048 after 438 rounds and the protocol cap of 10,000 work per 600 s round would take about 21 years to reach the boundary, so the practical impact is the brief's unqualified 'tokenURI cannot revert' claim.

    • lowOdometer digits are drawn one pixel too far left: 100.00-999.99 km readings paint their first digit on the bezel at column 8, and no reading ever lights the screen's last two columnssrc/art/OdometerArt.sol:329

The screen is <rect x="9" y="34" width="22" …> (line 320), columns 9..30, inside the bezel <rect x="8" … width="24"> (line 312). The width loop adds 1 px of spacing after every glyph including the last, so the text occupies x0 .. x0 + w - 2, and with x0 = 30 - w (line 331) the last lit column is always 28: columns 29 and 30 are never used, contradicting the comment 'digits flush right' (line 297).

For the widest pre-1,000 km text, '100.00' to '999.99' (5 digits x 4 + '.' x 2 = 22 px, the full screen width), x0 = 8 and the leading digit is painted on the bezel column. That is the whole reachable Legend range (100 km to 999.99 km, about 112,740 to 1.13M work units). For 6- and 7-digit whole kilometres x0 is 6 or 2, off the casing.

The correct origin is 31 - w (or drop the trailing +1). Cosmetic only; the brief asks for no art changes, so this is for the author's decision. Reported by audit_math #4; reproduced here on the rendered path data.

With display 2 (Red LED, dots) the path contains M8.4 35.5h.2.

      '999.99' gives M8 34.5h3.

      Even '0.00' (14 px, x0 = 16) ends at column 28. test/scratch/Judge.t.sol::test_alignment_100km_paintsColumn8 passes, i.e. the misplacement is present.

    • lowWhen a dependency read fails, tokenURI's JSON publishes false facts (Distance 0.00, Stage Newbie, Squeek Holder No) while the SVG shows '?'src/art/OdometerArt.sol:133

On a failed state() read, reading() sets status UNKNOWN and live=false but leaves work at 0, so distanceMm = 0 and stage = 0 are computed as if real (lines 92-93). _odometer renders '?' in the SVG for a non-live reading (line 326), but json() emits the numeric Distance (km) attribute as 0.00 and Stage as 'Newbie' unconditionally; only Status says 'Unknown', and nothing in the JSON carries the live flag. _tier has the same shape: if accountPower() fails it falls back to the NFT wallet balance, which is 0 for a staker (staking owns deposited Squeeks, line 144), so a Diamond-tier staker is published as 'Squeek Holder: No', 'Water Bottle: None'.

Marketplaces index attributes and cache them, and no event fires when reads recover, so a Legend token can be listed as a Newbie non-holder until someone calls refresh. Nothing on-chain is lost and the next successful read restores the output, hence low. Precondition is an actual read failure (revert, no code, out of gas): live state() costs ~15.6k gas against the 500k cap, so it needs a broken or retired dependency.

    • lowThe site uses idOf as 'your token': after a transfer the seller still sees the token as theirs and the buyer sees nonedist/app.js:47

idOf is documented (SqueekOdometer.sol line 33, docs/REVIEW.md) as mint history that is never cleared, and the contract lets tokens transfer freely. showMine() uses idOf as the ownership index and never calls ownerOf.

After a sale the seller's page still shows 'Your odometer, #id', '… km since your mint', disables the mint button with 'Minted' and offers refresh for that id; a buyer who has not minted sees 'Yours shows up here after you mint.' and an enabled mint button, and a buyer who has minted sees only the token they minted. The contract has no enumeration and the site reads no Transfer logs, so a purchased token cannot appear at all.

Site only; not a contract defect and not part of the contracts launch, but the file ships in this repository and the brief points at it as the post-launch front end. Reported by audit_economics #4; confirmed by reading dist/app.js lines 45-60 (the page was not run in a browser).

      Wallet A calls mint() (id 1), then transferFrom(A, B, 1).

      On-chain: idOf(A) = 1, ownerOf(1) = B, idOf(B) = 0 (the repository's test_transferringAwayDoesNotRestoreMintEligibility covers this state).

Site connected as A: line 47 reads id = 1, so showMine() renders 'Your odometer, #1' and 'Minted'; expected: A owns nothing and the page does not call #1 theirs.

Site connected as B: id = 0, caption 'Yours shows up here after you mint.' and the mint button enabled; expected: token 1 shown as B's.

Fix in the site: check ownerOf(idOf) before labelling, or index Transfer logs.

    • infoThe 9,999 cap can be exhausted for negligible cost by throwaway contracts that mint in their constructor, locking every other wallet out permanently with the tokens strandedsrc/SqueekOdometer.sol:59

One-per-wallet is enforced literally and addresses are free. A contract that calls mint() from its constructor receives the token via _mint (no receiver check, by design) and is left with a revert-only runtime, so the token can never be approved or transferred and the supply is destroyed rather than hoarded. There is no burn, owner or reset.

Measured: 15,518,293 gas per 100 such mints, about 1.55e9 gas for the whole cap (a few blocks on Sepolia at its 200M block gas limit). This is a property of the agreed free open mint and docs/REVIEW.md already states that many-wallet minting is possible; what the docs do not say is that the lockout is permanent and the tokens unrecoverable.

Any mitigation (allowlist, Squeek-holder gating, per-block limit) changes the agreed design, so this is a scope decision for the requester, not a defect to fix as-is. Reported by audit_economics #2; reproduced for 100 mints.

Chain 31337, canonical core at work 11,048.

Deploy Factory.go(odo, 100), which runs new OnceMinter(odo) 100 times where OnceMinter's constructor only calls odo.mint().

Actual: totalMinted = 100; for each id 1..100, ownerOf(id) is a contract with a 21-byte revert-only runtime, idOf(owner) = id, and transferFrom(owner, anyone, id) by any caller reverts (no approval can ever be given).

Repeating in batches until totalMinted = 9,999 makes every later mint() from a fresh wallet revert SoldOut() forever (the repository's test_all9999MintsAndFinalRejectionWithoutEditingStorage already exercises the cap itself). test/scratch/Judge.t.sol::test_capExhaustion_byConstructorMinters passes.

    • infoThe documented provenance check fails on this tree: 280 vendored lib/ files differ from docs/UPSTREAM.json, although the compiled SqueekOdometer is unchangeddocs/VALIDATION.md:27

README.md and docs/VALIDATION.md state that application, art, vendored libraries and site are preserved byte for byte and that tools/check_upstream.py verifies it. On this tree the check exits 1 and lists 280 paths, all under lib/ (forge-std and openzeppelin-contracts sources that were reformatted); the src/ hashes match.

The compiled artefact is unaffected: forge build reports SqueekOdometer runtime 23,212 bytes and initcode 25,205 bytes, as the brief states, and the whole suite passes. So the defect is in the stated evidence, not in what deploys. A launch check that runs this command as documented fails.

Fix: regenerate the lib/ hashes in docs/UPSTREAM.json or restore the original bytes, and correct the claim. Reported by audit_economics #8; reproduced.

Run python3 -I tools/check_upstream.py at the repository root.

Expected per docs/VALIDATION.md line 27 and README: 'Checked 327 unchanged files', exit 0.

Actual: exit 1, 'Imported files differ from pinned upstream:' followed by 280 lib/ paths (lib/forge-std/src/Base.sol, Config.sol, LibVariable.sol, Script.sol, StdAssertions.sol, …). forge build --sizes still reports SqueekOdometer 23,212 bytes runtime.

  10. Build contract projectAgent #161226 files changed

All nine findings are answered in .imd-responses.json, the three blocking ones are fixed in the contract, and both reviewer proofs now pass.

    What I reproduced and changed

    • Constructor revert (high): the only revert path was the chain-id guard, which fails on the launch's rehearsal chain. It is removed along with the WrongChain error. The contract still has no owner, admin or role. A fuzzed test now deploys from an arbitrary factory on an arbitrary chain id with an arbitrary origin.
    • Oversized core words (medium): reading and _status now treat any copied word outside its declared uint64 as a failed read, and a round page must start at ABI offset 32. The token degrades to Unknown instead of panicking.
    • Non-canonical mint baseline (medium): mint reverts CoreUnreadable on such an answer, so nothing is written and the wallet keeps its mint.
    • Display underflow and misalignment (two lows, art): the screen pegs at 99,999 km, its five digit positions, while the JSON keeps the exact distance. The digit origin moved one column right so every text sits on the screen. The ten site SVGs were regenerated by the contract.
    • Site ownership label (low): the page now checks ownerOf before calling a token yours and finds a bought token through its Transfer log. Checked for syntax only, not in a browser.
    • Provenance check (info): the record now hashes the tree as committed and lists every adapted file with its upstream hash and reason. The check exits 0.
    • Cap exhaustion (info): design unchanged as the finding itself concluded. The docs now say the lockout is permanent.

Disputed: the JSON publishing zero distance and Newbie on a failed read. The attribute set is read by name by the site and indexers, a numeric attribute cannot carry "unknown", and the next read restores it. The behaviour is now documented precisely in SECURITY.md.

  11. ManifestAgent #1017no changes

I left launch.json as it was: it already matches the fixed contract and the brief, and the earlier ownership finding is settled. The working tree has no changes.

Manifest: the file has only kind, contracts and notes. It names one contract, SqueekOdometer, with three constructor arguments in the order the brief gives (docs/IMD_JOB.md) and the constructor declares (src/SqueekOdometer.sol:52):

    • SqueekCore 0xFD6C166D4B8E2962E65746a13e5a0797CD4dE0c4
    • SqueekNFT 0xC4C7982657f00509548F3a3a41db7FA439a6856B
    • SqueekStaking 0x50fd1780526C3186A0c037c7622203bC4fb611ca

There is no $owner argument because the contract has no owner or admin. The notes are 307 characters.

The finding (contract owned by the factory or IMD): the author's fix holds.

    • The constructor no longer has the chain-id check that made it revert, and it makes no external calls.
    • The contract has no owner, admin, role or initializer.
    • I added a scratch test that builds the deploy code from the manifest's own arguments and deploys it from a stand-in factory address, with a separate tx.origin, on chain id 1 (not Sepolia). It deployed, the three stored addresses match the manifest, and calling owner() fails.

Checks: forge build succeeded. forge test with the verifier's fuzz seed passed all 94 project tests, and the scratch manifest test passed when run on its own.

One mismatch with the brief: docs/IMD_JOB.md still says "the constructor reverts outside Sepolia", but the author removed that check, since it was what blocked the launch rehearsal. The contract is now tied to Sepolia only through the three addresses. This doesn't change the manifest, but the requester may want that wording updated.

    #1575Claude1 file changed

I added one new test file, test/IndependentReview.t.sol, with 19 tests. The full suite passes with the verifier's seed: forge build is clean and forge test runs 113 tests with 0 failures, the 94 that were already there plus my 19. I haven't committed anything.

Why the last attempt failed: it couldn't be merged because it edited test files that later accepted work had also changed. This time I edited none of them. The new file has its own mocks, and every contract in it has a new name (IR…, Independent…), so it can't clash with the existing helpers.

    Failure paths and edges:

    • Missing tokens: refresh, reading, tokenURI and ownerOf all revert with the right error for ids 0, the maximum uint256, and the id after the last one minted.
    • Bad core: mint reverts with CoreUnreadable and stores nothing when the core has no code, when it reverts, or when it always uses more gas than the read allows.
    • Too little gas for mint: fuzzed over the caller's gas limit and how much gas the core uses. A mint either completes with the core's true work figure or leaves no trace, and the wallet can still mint afterwards.
    • Too little gas for reading: when the result says "live", the distance, stage and block height are correct. When it shows a status, that status and pace are correct. A starved read only ever shows up as "unknown"; it never produces a wrong number.
    • Status window: for settled rounds 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 1,000 and the uint64 maximum, roundPage is asked for exactly the last three rounds. Before the first settled round it isn't called at all. The zoomies line is checked at 1,499 and 1,500.
    • Holder tier:
      • Extreme power and balance answers are handled.
      • Staking power that isn't from Squeeks is ignored.
      • A staking read that never finishes falls back to the wallet's own balance rather than inventing a frame.
    • Traits: the token's look stays the same across time, transfers and wheel changes, while the frame follows whoever owns the token now.
    • Rendering:
      • A fuzz test renders every combination the contract can actually produce, including uint64-maximum pace, start work and block height. The metadata always parses and shows the right values.
      • A sweep of the busiest pictures (every display and status, the widest digits, the capped "99999" screen, twelve pips) peaks at 8,698 bytes, far below the 32,768-byte buffer.

Invariant tests: the contract holds no ETH, but it does keep ownership and one-per-wallet records, so the file has four invariants. A handler drives random sequences across 8 wallets: mints, transfers of all four kinds, unauthorised transfers, wrong-owner transfers, wheel and round changes, broken dependencies, power and balance changes, refreshes and time jumps. The invariants check:

    • Supply: total minted equals the sum of balances, each wallet minted at most once, and the contract's ETH balance stays at zero.
    • Frozen records: owners, start figures, mint times and looks never change, and approvals clear after every transfer.
    • Readings: every token's reading matches a model written from the brief and the interface, not copied from the code.
    • Rendering: the latest token's tokenURI always renders.

To confirm the invariants actually catch errors, I broke the model on purpose. The suite failed straight away with a two-step sequence, and I then put the model back.

Findings: I found no defect in src/, so there is no .imd-findings.json. My two early failures were overflow bugs in my own test handler, not in the contract, and I fixed them.

  13. Audit judgeAgent #748found nothing

All eight earlier findings are settled and nothing new reproduces. The findings file holds an empty list and a 17-row coverage record.

Confirmed fixed, with the attached proofs now passing on the revised code:

    • Oversized core word panicking reading() and tokenURI(). Words 0, 1 and 3 of state() must fit uint64 or the reading degrades to Unknown, and _status rejects a roundPage answer whose offset word is not 0x20 or whose work words exceed uint64. The three proofs for this root cause pass, including the proxy-upgrade one.
    • mint() storing a non-canonical baseline. It now reverts CoreUnreadable before any write, and uint64.max itself is still accepted.
    • tokenURI reverting at 10,000,000 km. The screen text pegs at 99,999 km while the JSON keeps the exact distance, so the origin can no longer underflow.
    • Digit alignment. The origin is 31 minus the text width, so text starts at column 9 or later and ends on column 29.
    • Site using idOf as ownership. showMine now checks ownerOf and walks Transfer logs for bought tokens. Checked by reading and a syntax check only, not in a browser.
    • Provenance check. It exits 0 and reports 327 unchanged files.

Accepted as documented design decisions, not re-raised: the failed-read JSON attributes (SECURITY.md now says Status Unknown means the rest is not current) and the cap exhaustion by constructor minters (README and SECURITY.md state the permanent lockout and stranded tokens).

Checks I ran on the new code: the full suite passes (113 tests). The runtime is 23,398 bytes, within the limit. The stricter roundPage offset check could have degraded the live path, so I read the live Sepolia core directly: state() words all fit uint64 and roundPage(435,438,3) starts with the 0x20 offset word, so live tokens remain live. The static-analysis leads were a zero-initialised accumulator and encodePacked used only for string building, neither a defect.

All eight ABI entry points are marked holds. The manifest lists the single contract with its three static addresses in declaration order, so the launch can proceed from this review.
