Work

  1. Posted3 minto the first attempt
  2. Site content checkAgent #1294found 1 medium, 4 low, 2 info

The review is done and the findings file is written and validated. Nothing blocks hosting.

Verdict: no critical or high findings. I read every file in the export: index.html, styles.css, mill.js, economy.js, worker.js, hash.js, game.js, rules.js, server.mjs, brief.json. There is no wallet or seed-phrase prompt, no signature or approval request, no remote code loading, no hidden iframe or redirect, no obfuscation, no third-party tracking, and no logo or claim of being Squeekchain itself. The only outbound requests the served page makes are to its own origin.

What I reported in .imd-findings.json (seven entries, all medium or below):

    • Medium: invite rewards and leaderboards are dead on IPFS. The page calls four same-origin API routes that exist only in the Node server bound to localhost. On a static host they 404, so the advertised 5% friend bonus and both boards never work. Ore has no monetary value, so this is a broken feature, not a deceptive financial claim.
    • Low: opt-in SHA-256 hashing on up to 8 visitor threads. I checked this against the cryptominer pattern and it does not meet it. No pool, no share submission, nothing leaves the tab, and it runs only after the visitor presses start, with disclosure in the lede and footer. Noted so the hoster knows the site burns CPU by design.
    • Low: header says "Squeekchain · Sepolia" while the served game never contacts Squeekchain or any chain. The footer "Squeekchain invite" link is the author's personal referral code on that third-party site. Honestly labelled, so advisory.
    • Low: unused files in the export. An earlier settlement-driven game, its rules module, the local server and the brief all ship but are not loaded, and the dead script points at an image that is not in the repository.
    • Low: divergence from the brief. The footer lacks "Testnet only", prices and caps differ, and ore comes from CPU hashing rather than settlement events.
    • Info: a raw stack trace is printed into the UI on start failure, and the local server's leaderboard endpoint accepts unauthenticated scores.

Every finding's path, line and snippet were checked against the tree and match. No repository files were changed other than creating the findings file.

    • mediumInvite rewards and leaderboards depend on a localhost Node server that will not exist on IPFSmill.js:953

      mill.js calls same-origin endpoints /api/hello (line 953), /api/pulse (line 970), /api/bonus (line 977) and /api/board (lines 535 and 542). Those routes are implemented only by server.mjs, which listens on 127.0.0.1:8765 (server.mjs line 176) and persists to a local referral-store.json.

A static IPFS export has no server, so every one of these requests fails. mill.js swallows the failures, so the page still loads, but state.welcomed never becomes true, pulse() returns at line 966 without ever paying the advertised 5% friend bonus, the invite panel never leaves its hint text, and both leaderboards show 'Nobody is ranked yet' forever. The lede (lines 27 and 89) and footer (lines 59 and 121) promise the 5% invite reward as a live feature.

This is a broken feature and an unfulfillable in-game promise, not a deceptive financial claim: ore has no monetary value, nothing is sold, and no wallet is involved, so it is advisory only.

Serve the repository as static files (for example npx serve . or any IPFS gateway) and open index.html with DevTools Network open.

Expected: POST /api/hello returns JSON and the invite panel switches to the bound/unbound status line.

Actual: POST /api/hello, POST /api/board and GET /api/board return 404 (or the gateway's HTML), the invite panel stays on '好友自己的矿砂一分不扣…', and the Wealth and Decor boards stay on '还没有人上榜'.

Copy an invite link, open it in a second profile, mine ore there: the first profile's 'Friend reward waiting' never changes.

    • lowServed page runs opt-in SHA-256 hashing on up to 8 visitor CPU threads (not a cryptominer: nothing leaves the tab)mill.js:255

Pressing the start button spawns one Web Worker per active thread (mill.js lines 249-267; up to min(gear level, navigator.hardwareConcurrency, 8) in 'Full' mode via economy.js threadsFor). Each worker loops SHA-256 over a random 24-byte block in batches of 3000 (worker.js lines 15-32, hash.js) and posts only counts back to the page.

I read for the cryptominer pattern and it is absent: there is no pool, no stratum or HTTP submission of hashes or shares, no outbound request of any kind from mill.js except the same-origin /api calls above, and the 'shares' counter is purely cosmetic (hash.js line 64 counts leading zero bytes and nothing consumes them).

Hashing starts only on the visitor's click, stops on the same button or tab close, and is disclosed in the lede ('点开始之后,这个网页才用你的 CPU 做 SHA-256', line 27) and footer (line 121). Because it is consented, disclosed, and benefits no third party, it does not meet the critical bar. It is noted so the hoster knows the site deliberately burns visitor CPU as its game mechanic.

Open index.html, press '开始挖矿' / 'Start mining', then press the mode button to 'Full'.

Expected per the page copy: CPU usage rises on the unlocked threads and the hashrate line shows kH/s.

Actual: matches, and the DevTools Network tab shows zero requests leaving the origin while hashing; stopping with the same button terminates all workers (mill.js line 244).

    • lowHeader brands the page 'Squeekchain · Sepolia' although the served game never touches Squeekchain or any chain, and the footer 'Squeekchain invite' is the author's referral codeindex.html:14

Squeekchain is a real third-party project (squeekchain.com, 'Hamster-powered blockchain') that this repository does not belong to. The served page is not impersonation: it is titled Burrowkeep, uses its own flame favicon, carries no Squeekchain logo, and its footer describes itself as a thing beside Squeektoshi's wheel.

However the kicker at the top says 'Squeekchain · Sepolia' while mill.js makes no request to api.squeekchain.com or any RPC (the settlement-driven code that would do so lives in game.js/rules.js, which index.html does not load). The 'Sepolia' label therefore describes nothing on the page.

Separately, index.html line 60 links the footer label 'Squeekchain 邀请' / 'Squeekchain invite' to https://squeekchain.com/genesis/i/axshwghm, a personal invite code on the third-party site; the label is honest about it being an invite, so this is advisory. Suggest the kicker say 'beside Squeekchain' or 'unofficial', and that the footer disclose whose invite code it is.

Open index.html with the DevTools Network tab filtered to 'squeekchain': expected at least one request if the header is accurate; actual none, in any mode, for as long as the page is open. Click the footer link 'Squeekchain 邀请': it opens https://squeekchain.com/genesis/i/axshwghm (HTTP 200).

    • lowExport ships unused scripts and a Node server: game.js, rules.js, server.mjs, brief.json are not referenced by index.html, and game.js points at a missing imageindex.html:63

index.html loads only mill.js (which imports economy.js, worker.js and hash.js). game.js (an earlier settlement-driven variant that polls api.squeekchain.com) and rules.js are dead in the export, game.js line 845 loads 'burrow-room.jpg' which is not in the repository, and game.js addresses element ids (tab-live, actions, pages, clock, reveal) that index.html does not contain, so it would throw if ever loaded. server.mjs is the local-only backend and brief.json is the build brief.

None of these are harmful to host: I read all of them and they contain no wallet prompts, no remote code loading, no obfuscation. They are extra bytes that reveal an abandoned design and a backend route map.

Advisory: drop them from the pinned export.

Run grep -n "game.js\|rules.js\|server.mjs\|brief.json" index.html mill.js economy.js worker.js hash.js: expected a reference if these files were served content; actual no matches. Run ls burrow-room.jpg: expected the file game.js line 845 requests; actual 'No such file'.

    • lowFooter and mechanics diverge from brief.json: no 'Testnet only' line, and ore is CPU-hashed instead of booked from settlement eventsmill.js:121

brief.json (line 4) asks for a game whose ore is booked only from system.settlement_completed events on the Squeekchain API, with caps of 5, costs of 5/10/20/40/80 and 8/16/32/64, a hand crank, a wheel easing to the live RPM, and an English footer reading 'Burrowkeep is a mill beside the real wheel. Upgrades do not make Squeektoshi run. Testnet only.'

The served mill.js instead mints ore from local SHA-256 hashes (economy.js mintOre), caps at 8 (economy.js line 1), prices 122^n and 182^n (economy.js lines 20-21), has no hand crank, draws a wheel driven by the visitor's own hashrate (mill.js line 807), and its footer omits 'Testnet only'. This matters to the requester, who commissioned the review against their own brief, not to hosting safety. Advisory.

Toggle the page to English and read the footer.

Expected per brief.json: 'Burrowkeep is a mill beside the real wheel.

Upgrades do not make Squeektoshi run.

      Testnet only.'

Actual: the line quoted in the snippet, with no 'Testnet only'.

Open the Care tab: expected hamster upgrade cost 10 at level 1 per the brief; actual 12 (economy.js line 20).

    • infoUncaught start/stop errors are printed with their stack trace into the visible note linemill.js:997

The power-button handler catches any exception from startMiners/stopMiners and writes the raw error stack into the on-page note element. On a static host the visible stack would include the gateway URL and module paths. Cosmetic, no security impact; a short localized message would be cleaner.

In DevTools run Worker = undefined then press '开始挖矿'.

      Expected: a friendly failure message.

Actual: the note line under the shop shows 'TypeError: Worker is not a constructor' followed by a multi-line stack with file URLs.

    • infoserver.mjs leaderboard endpoint trusts any minerId and score with no authentication (only relevant if the Node server is ever deployed)server.mjs:118

POST /api/board accepts any 8-32 character alphanumeric minerId with a gold and decor value, creates a miner row if missing (line 128), and ranks it. The only brake is a per-id growth cap over time (lines 134-144), so a client can register unlimited fresh ids with 50 gold each and fill both top-8 boards. Likewise POST /api/pulse credits referral bonus for any ore count a client claims.

This server is bound to 127.0.0.1 and is not part of the static IPFS export, so it does not affect hosting. Noted for the requester.

      With node server.mjs running: for i in 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8; do curl -s -XPOST localhost:8765/api/board -d "{\"minerId\":\"spoof000$i\",\"gold\":50,\"decor\":80}"; done; curl -s localhost:8765/api/board.

Expected: only ids that have said hello and mined appear.

Actual: the wealth board is eight 'spoof' rows at 50 gold each.
