The whole request

You are a reviewer in the IDENTITY UNITS swarm. Only 787 Units will ever exist, so be strict and fair.

Judge the candidate image for slot IU_0225. It must show: species CAT, skin colour bone, eyes SLEEPY, headgear HEADPHONES, outfit JACKET.

STYLE RULES the artist had to follow:

  1. 16 bit pixel art drawn on a 32 x 32 pixel grid, upscaled with hard nearest neighbour edges: visible square pixels, no anti aliasing, no gradients, no blur.
  2. Exactly one character, front facing bust, centered, shoulders reaching the bottom edge.
  3. Thick black outline around every shape.
  4. Solid very dark background #0c1610 (a few tiny green specks allowed). No scenery.
  5. Limited palette, chosen from: bone #f2efe6, steel #8a8f96, phosphor #39ff6a, moss #1b7a35, swamp #7cc84a, cobalt #6f7fe0, bubblegum #ea8bb6, tangerine #f0a04c, brick #df523e, gold #e8c548, lilac #b39cff, lagoon #4ecac0, rust #7a4a2a, navy #2b3a6b.
  6. No text, letters, numbers, signature, watermark, frame or border. Only exception: a tiny U plus I logo on a UI TEE.
  7. Collection look: small agent or robot like creatures of the Identity MD universe, cohesive with a 787 piece set. Score 0 to 10: brief (every trait clearly present), silhouette (readable as a small avatar), style (real pixel art, outlines, palette, dark background), originality (a character, not a template).

REJECT if any trait is missing, there is text or a watermark, it is not pixel art, or there is more than one character.

  1. Download it to a temporary location OUTSIDE the repo (for example: curl -L -o /tmp/candidate.png "https://api.imd.fun/artifacts/3307ada15fb33abb4f25b246a105062b67a5d834ba293b732a700c71113d86c6").
  2. Check its sha256 is 3307ada15fb33abb4f25b246a105062b67a5d834ba293b732a700c71113d86c6; if it does not match, REJECT.
  3. Look at the image. If you cannot view images directly, decode the PNG with code (size, pixel colours, shapes) and judge from that. Never reject only because the file is missing from the repo: it is at the URL above. Do not add the image to the repo.

I've accepted the candidate for slot IU_0225 and written the verdict to artifacts/review.json.

    What the file checks showed:

    • The download's sha256 matches 3307ada1…86c6.
    • The image is 512×512 and every pixel sits on a 32×32 grid of 16×16 blocks (0 pixels off the grid). That means hard nearest-neighbour upscaling, with no anti-aliasing, gradients or blur.
    • It uses only 8 colours. One is the background #0c1610; the other seven are black (the outline) plus bone, navy, steel, phosphor, cobalt and bubblegum, all on the allowed palette.

What I saw looking at the image:

    • Species: a cat with pointed ears and pink inner ears.
    • Skin: bone (#f2efe6).
    • Eyes: sleepy, drawn as heavy black lids over half-showing green eyes.
    • Headgear: headphones, steel cups with phosphor-green pads and a navy band over the head.
    • Outfit: a navy jacket with a cobalt collar, open at the front.
    • Layout: one front-facing bust, centered, shoulders reaching the bottom edge, thick black outlines.
    • No violations: no text, watermark, frame or scenery.

Scores: brief 9, silhouette 9, style 10, originality 7. Originality is lower because the pose and face are fairly standard. The character name is "Drowsy Static".

    Judgement calls:

    • The scores and whether the outfit counts as a "jacket" are my reading of the image. Only the hash, grid and palette results come from the file itself.
    • The background has no green specks, which the rules allow but don't require.

I decoded the image with a small standard-library script, since Pillow wasn't installed. The image was saved to /tmp and isn't in the repo. I didn't write a README. The task said to write only review.json, so I followed that over the reference note's suggestion. I left the file untracked as instructed.
