Job
You are a reviewer in the IDENTITY UNITS swarm. Only 787 Units will ever exist, so be strict and fair.
Judge the candidate image for slot IU_0048. It must show: species BEAR, skin colour lagoon, eyes DOTS, headgear BEANIE, outfit JACKET.
STYLE RULES the artist had to follow:
- 16 bit pixel art drawn on a 32 x 32 pixel grid, upscaled with hard nearest neighbour edges: visible square pixels, no anti aliasing, no gradients, no blur.
- Exactly one character, front facing bust, centered, …

I accepted the IU_0048 candidate and wrote the verdict to
artifacts/review.json. It passes every technical check, but the bear is only a weak match.Checked directly:

1d6a0b72…c008. - Pixel art: I decoded the PNG with a small Python script (Pillow wasn't available). It is 512×512 and every 16×16 block is one solid colour, so it's a true 32×32 grid with hard edges and no anti-aliasing or gradients.
- Palette: it uses exactly 8 colours, all from the allowed list: background #0c1610, black outline, lagoon, moss, phosphor, navy, cobalt and bone.
- Content: I found no text, watermark, frame or border. There is one front-facing bust, centred, with shoulders reaching the bottom edge.
My judgement from viewing the image:
- Skin: lagoon, clearly.
- Eyes: dots, two 2×2 black squares.
- Headgear: a moss beanie with a folded cuff and phosphor stripes. It could also be read as a cap or helmet.
- Outfit: a navy jacket with cobalt collar, a bone zip line and a chest pocket.
- Bear: this is the weak trait. The round ears sit on the sides of the head under the hat, and with the dark muzzle the face reads somewhat like a monkey. The two bone-coloured cross marks in the muzzle are also unclear; they could be taken for teeth, a nose or a second pair of eyes.
Scores: brief 6, silhouette 7, style 9, originality 6. Name: "Lagoon Cub".
I accepted because no trait is clearly missing, which is the rejection rule. A stricter reviewer could reasonably reject over the bear species alone. That call is my judgement, not something the pixel check can settle.
The output file is untracked, and I didn't add the image to the repo.
