Deliver a source-backed Squeek Pet Web release of the existing Squeekchain companion, including a public GitHub repository and commit, not only a hosted site. Continue the existing project and preserve its attribution. The previous release is already live at https://squeek-pet.imd.site and its original MIT source is https://github.com/zakehowell/squeek-pet.

Fix the four concrete low-severity findings from the previous site-content-check: resolve settings.html relative to the site's current directory so IPFS subpath hosting works; keep browser header, hint and Pat/Feed/Wake button text readable in dark system mode; update all browser chrome, button labels and accessible names when the language changes; and retain an explicit DEMO label throughout simulated offline segments.

Add focused regression tests and document the browser interactions, real Squeekchain data source, offline behavior, and limitations. Preserve the pixel art, existing desktop/Tauri behavior and browser Pat/Feed/Wake animations. Interactions are local presentation only: they must not alter observed wheel state, work, balances, or API snapshots.

No wallet connection, token, transactions, new backend, or secret is to be added to the product. If live API access is unavailable, keep the last known data/offline indication and state that live synchronization is unverified; never replace live data with undisclosed simulation. Run the tests, type checks and production export.

Publish the FULL source tree with README and regression tests to GitHub (github=true), and publish the updated static site under the existing project site name (ipfs=true). This is an engineering release, not a claim of official approval or a request to game badges.

  2. Refine projectAgent #102514 files changed

Fixed all four browser defects and added regression coverage and bilingual documentation. Preserved artwork, native settings behavior, and presentation-only animations.

Validation passed: 87 tests, type checks, production export, light/dark browser checks, and IPFS subpath navigation.

Live synchronization remains unverified: API returned HTTP 403. No GitHub commit or IPFS update was published; publishing tools were unavailable.

  3. Import siteAgent #29010 files changed

Settings resolves relative to the current URL, so it works under a subpath.

Build finished with npm ci, npm test (87 of 87 passed), and npm run typecheck (run as part of the build) all passing.

    • Package manager: npm, installed from package-lock.json with npm ci.
    • Build command: npm run build -- --base ./, which runs the type checks and then vite build.
    • Output: the build wrote straight to dist/. That holds index.html, settings.html and assets/, and the asset paths are relative (./assets/...).
    • Settings navigation: the built code opens settings with new URL("settings.html", window.location.href). That resolves against the current directory, so it should work under an IPFS subpath. I read this in the built output but did not load the page under a prefix.

I changed no source, tests, README or configuration, and .gitignore is untouched. The task rules limit me to dist/** and .gitignore. That means I did not do the four findings, the new regression tests or the documentation. I also did not publish to GitHub or IPFS. This run only built and exported the site as it stands.

The new build replaced the old hashed files in dist/. Git shows them as deleted and the new ones as untracked, so the export still needs committing.

  4. Site content checkAgent #1411found 1 low, 2 info

Nothing critical or high: the site is fine to host. All four earlier findings are fixed in the export, and I wrote three minor findings to .imd-findings.json.

One mistake on my side: a chained shell command broke partway and ran rm -rf dist inside the repo. I restored it right away with git checkout -- dist, and git status shows no changes, so the tree matches HEAD.

What I read: both hosted pages, dist/index.html and dist/settings.html, plus the three scripts and two stylesheets they load. I also read the source they're built from.

    • Network: the only thing the page fetches is a read-only GET https://api.squeekchain.com/v1/status, sent without cookies or login. The other addresses in the bundle are just links: Squeekchain docs, Blockscout and SqueekPulse.
    • Safety: no wallet code, signing, token logic, eval, iframes, redirects or downloaded code. The seed hits in the bundle are random seeds for drawing the pixel art.

Checks: in a separate temp copy, 87/87 tests pass and the type check is clean. A fresh build gives byte-identical JS and CSS to the committed dist/; only the HTML differs, as described in the first finding below.

    The four earlier findings:

    1. Settings link: fixed. The browser now opens settings.html relative to the current page (src/platform/desktop.ts:68), so it works under an IPFS subpath.
    2. Dark mode: fixed. The header, hint and Pat/Feed/Wake buttons now use fixed dark-ink colours on a light background (src/styles/pet.css), so they stay readable in dark system mode.
    3. Language change: fixed. Switching language updates the tab title, heading, subtitle, hint, button labels, tooltips and accessible names without a reload (src/pet/browser-chrome.ts, src/pet/play-dock.ts).
    4. DEMO label: fixed. Demo data shows the DEMO badge before the offline check runs (src/pet/present.ts:63), so it stays visible through the simulated offline stretch.

    Other checks:

    • Interactions: Pat, Feed and Wake only trigger animations. They don't change the observed wheel state, work, balances or API data; the most Wake does is ask for the next poll sooner.
    • Demo mode: it only starts with ?demo=1 or the toggle, never by itself after an API error.

    Findings:

    • Low, package.json:10: the standard npm run build writes /assets/... links, which break under /ipfs/<cid>/. The committed dist/ is correct because it was built with the --base=./ flag the README describes. But anyone who rebuilds with the plain script and publishes would bring the subpath bug back.
    • Info, live API sync is unverified: the API returned HTTP 403 from this machine, so I can't confirm live updates work. The site says so honestly: README line 79 marks live sync as unverified, and on failure the page keeps the last data and shows offline. It never swaps in demo data without saying so.
    • Info, README.md:157: the table still says 79 tests pass; there are now 87.

    • lowDefault production build emits root-absolute asset URLs; committed dist/ is not what `npm run build` producespackage.json:10

vite.config.ts sets no base, so the project's own build script writes /assets/... URLs into dist/index.html and dist/settings.html. Under an IPFS path gateway (/ipfs/<cid>/) those resolve to the gateway root, so the page loads no JS or CSS. The committed dist/ uses ./assets/... because it was built with the extra --base=./ flag that the README documents (README.md:87,91).

The hashed JS/CSS bundles are byte-identical either way; only the HTML differs. The served export is correct now, but anyone who runs the standard npm run build before publishing undoes the IPFS-subpath fix without noticing.

Low: the export as committed works, and nothing unsafe is served.

In a clean checkout: npm ci && npx vite build.

Then diff dist/index.html against the committed copy.

      Expected: identical.

Actual: line 18 is <script type="module" crossorigin src="/assets/pet-CUIAqW2_.js"></script> where the committed file has ./assets/pet-CUIAqW2_.js. dist/settings.html lines 7-9 differ the same way.

Serve that build under /ipfs/x/ and the pet page is blank (404 on /assets/pet-CUIAqW2_.js).

    • infoLive Squeekchain API synchronization unverified (HTTP 403)src/core/api.ts:4

Reported separately, as the assignment asks. The only network endpoint the pet page polls is a plain read-only GET of https://api.squeekchain.com/v1/status, sent with credentials omitted. A request to it from the review machine on 2026-11-01 returned HTTP 403, so live synchronization cannot be confirmed.

The site is honest about this. README.md:79 states that live sync is unverified. If a fetch fails, the pet keeps the last accepted snapshot and turns offline once it goes stale, and it never switches to demo data by itself: in src/main.ts:56-67 the poller only feeds the live machine, and demo mode only starts on ?demo=1 or the user's toggle.

Not a defect in the export.

curl -s -o /dev/null -w '%{http_code}' https://api.squeekchain.com/v1/status prints 403. Open dist/index.html without ?demo: the badge shows loading, then offline, never DEMO data presented as live.

    • infoREADME test-count table is stale (79 vs 87)README.md:157

The historical validation table says 79 tests pass. The current suite has 87, and they all pass (README.md:97 already says 87). This is documentation drift only.

npx vitest run prints 'Tests 87 passed (87)'. README.md:157 says 79.
