Build SqueekQuest – SqueekChain Interactive Game

Act as a senior Web3 full-stack development team.

Build a complete, functional web game called SqueekQuest, powered by real SqueekChain blockchain data.

Official resources:

1. Product concept

Create an interactive hamster adventure game where players complete missions based on real SqueekChain blockchain events.

The game should be fun, visually appealing, mobile-friendly and useful to the SqueekChain community.

2. Core features

  1. Interactive hamster game with movement, missions and rewards.
  2. Live blockchain missions based on verified SqueekChain events.
  3. Player XP, levels, achievements and leaderboard.
  4. Daily challenges and progress tracking.
  5. Live SqueekChain statistics dashboard.
  6. Block explorer showing real blockchain data.
  7. Responsive design for desktop and mobile.

3. Blockchain integration

Use the official SqueekChain API.

Retrieve and validate available data:

  • Network status
  • Squeek blocks
  • Blockchain events
  • Hamster measurement statistics
  • SQK economy information
  • Squeek NFT information

All blockchain-related missions must use verifiable data.

Never fabricate blockchain events, token balances, rewards or transactions.

4. Technical requirements

  • Next.js
  • TypeScript
  • Tailwind CSS
  • Clean and maintainable architecture
  • GitHub public repository
  • Public website deployment

Do not require users to provide private keys or seed phrases.

Do not implement real-money gambling or unverified token rewards.

5. Design

Create a distinctive hamster-themed visual identity.

Use:

  • Modern Web3 gaming interface
  • Attractive animations
  • Dark and light modes
  • Mobile-first responsive layout
  • Clear game instructions
  • Professional dashboard

6. Quality assurance

  • Test every major feature.
  • Test API integration with real responses.
  • Handle unavailable API data gracefully.
  • Fix build and TypeScript errors.
  • Verify mobile responsiveness.
  • Ensure the public website works without developer access.

7. Deliverables

Provide:

  1. Complete source code.
  2. Public GitHub repository.
  3. Working deployed website.
  4. README and installation instructions.
  5. Screenshots of working features.
  6. Test results.
  7. List of SqueekChain integrations.
  8. Explanation of how the project contributes to the ecosystem.

8. Important instructions

Build a real product, not a static mockup.

Prioritize working features over unnecessary complexity.

Do not claim any feature is complete unless it has been implemented and tested.

Before making any additional paid requests, explain the issue and proposed changes.

The final product must be original and suitable for submission to the SqueekChain Genesis Buildooooor program.

  3. Design criticAgent #192found 2 medium, 2 low

I found no high-severity problems. The game and its main button are on the first screen at 390 wide, the design probe passed all 16 checks, and the live API data loaded correctly. I wrote four findings (two medium, two low) to .imd-findings.json and changed no repository files.

    AreaCount
    Brief requirements31 total: 26 met, 0 missing, 0 faked, 5 after review
    Broken features0
Product on first screen at 390yes (map and "Start adventure" button)
    taste@1 checks passed16 / 16
    Copy findings3 (1 bug, 2 taste)
Share cardyes (title, favicon, og:title, og:image, description)

How I checked it. The probe's browser had no network proxy, so it showed "Chain data unavailable". I reran the site in Chromium through the proxy. All seven API reads returned 200, and the Adventure, Quests, Explorer, Leaderboard and Signal station views showed real Sepolia records. WebKit was not tested: no WebKit browser is installed on this machine (the builder's notes say the same).

    Requirements

    • Interactive hamster game with movement, missions and rewards: met. src/components/game-map.tsx has click-to-move, arrow keys/WASD and on-screen direction buttons; seeds; stations.
    • Live missions based on verified SqueekChain events: met. Each station shows real API records, which are checked for confirmation status.
    • Player XP, levels, achievements, leaderboard: met. Levels come from XP in src/lib/game.ts and there are 5 achievements. The leaderboard is kept on this device only, and the page says so plainly (index.tsx:1052).
    • Daily challenges and progress tracking: met ("A balanced little day"; quests reset at 00:00 UTC).
    • Live statistics dashboard: met (the "Meanwhile, on SqueekChain" panel and the Explorer Overview tab).
    • Block explorer with real data: met (Blocks and Events tabs).
    • Responsive desktop and mobile layout: met (no horizontal scroll at 320, 390 or 1440).
    • Official API used: met (src/lib/api.ts, https://api.squeekchain.com/v1).
    • Network status, Squeek blocks, events, hamster statistics, SQK economy, NFT information: met. These use /status, /core and /measurement/blocks, /events, /measurement/stats, /economy/state, and /squeeks/{id}.
    • Ethereum Sepolia: met (chain 11155111 is checked).
    • No fabricated events, balances, rewards or transactions: met. Missing data shows as "No data", and XP is clearly labelled as local points.
    • Next.js, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS: met. Tailwind is a thin layer: its base reset plus one utility class (sr-only), and the @theme colours are never used.
    • Clean architecture: met (separate API, hooks, game and components files).
    • No private keys or seed phrases: met (read-only; no wallet).
    • No gambling or unverified token rewards: met.
    • Distinctive hamster visual identity: met (illustrated valley and hamster).
    • Modern Web3 gaming interface: met.
    • Animations: met. There is movement and transitions; nothing loops forever.
    • Dark and light modes: met (toggle in the header). Low finding: the site ignores the visitor's system setting.
    • Mobile-first layout: met.
    • Clear game instructions: met (help dialog and the line under the game). Medium finding: that line reads "Click the map to move ." on phones.
    • Professional dashboard: met. Medium finding: its headings are slogans.
    • Handle unavailable API gracefully: met ("Chain data unavailable", retry, game still playable).
    • Test features, API, mobile; fix build errors: met (artifacts/validation.md, tests/).
    • Complete source and README with install steps: met.
    • Screenshots: met (artifacts/screenshots/).
    • Test results: met (artifacts/validation.md).
    • List of SqueekChain integrations: met (README.md and artifacts/INTEGRATIONS.md).
    • How the project helps the ecosystem: met (README section).
    • Public GitHub repository, deployed site, public site working without developer access, original work fit for the Genesis programme: after review (the last one is not something

    • mediumbug: the move instruction under the game reads "Click the map to move ." on phonessrc/components/game-map.tsx:321

Now: the instruction is "Click the map to move" followed by a trailing space, a hidden desktop-only WASD span, and a separate "." text node, so at phone widths the first screen shows "Click the map to move ." with a stray space, and says Click on a touch device.

Change to: put the full stop inside the sentence and give phones their own wording: render "Tap the map or use the arrows to move." below 768px and "Click the map or use W A S D to move." on desktop (move the period into each variant and drop the {' '} before the desktop-only span).

Why: this line sits on the first screen next to the main action, and the brief asks for "Clear game instructions" and a "Mobile-first responsive layout".

      Width 390, Chromium, touch emulation.

Open dist/index.html over a static server, Adventure view, do nothing.

Measured: document.querySelector('.game-instructions p').innerText === "Click the map to move ."

(screenshot 390 shows the stray space before the period at y about 723).

Expected: "Tap the map or use the arrows to move."

    • mediumtaste: the Explorer dashboard uses slogans for every heading instead of naming what each section showssrc/components/chain-views.tsx:461

Now: the Explorer view is a data dashboard but its page heading is "Curiosity, meet the chain." (src/pages/index.tsx:295) and its tab sections open with "One hamster. A whole network."

(chain-views.tsx:358), "Work, settled on-chain." (461), "Little actions. Real records."

(540), "A peek at the SQK economy." (659) and "Meet the Squeeks." (730).

      One pattern, six slogans.

Change to: page heading "SqueekChain Sepolia explorer" with the sub line "Blocks, events, economy and Squeeks from the official API."; section headings "Wheel and network status" (358), "Settled Squeek blocks" (461), "Recent safe events" (540), "SQK economy" (659), "Look up a Squeek NFT" (730). Keep the existing one-sentence lines under each heading.

Why: the brief asks for a "Professional dashboard" and a "Block explorer"; dashboards are read to get a task done, so headings name the content in plain words and carry no voice line.

      Width 390, Chromium.

Open the site, tap the Explorer tab, then each sub-tab (Overview, Blocks, Events, Economy, Squeeks).

Observed h1 "Curiosity, meet the chain." and h2 on Overview "One hamster.

      A whole network."

(screenshot Explorer-390); grep of chain-views.tsx lines 358, 461, 540, 659, 730 shows the other four two-beat slogans, one per tab.

    • lowfidelity: dark mode ignores the visitor's system setting; a phone in dark mode opens in lightsrc/lib/game.ts:86

Now: the default save hard-codes theme 'light', so a first-time visitor whose device is set to dark mode gets the light page until they find the moon button.

Change to: when there is no stored save, initialise theme from window.matchMedia('(prefers-color-scheme: dark)').matches ? 'dark' : 'light' (keep 'light' as the server-render fallback and keep the toggle and stored choice as they are).

Why: the brief asks for "Dark and light modes" with a "Mobile-first" layout; most phones set this preference system-wide.

Width 390, Chromium with colorScheme 'dark' emulated, fresh profile (empty localStorage).

      Load the site.

Measured: getComputedStyle(document.body).backgroundColor === 'rgb(247, 248, 242)' (the light --page token) and the header shows the moon (Switch to dark mode) button.

Expected: the dark theme on first load.

    • lowtaste: the first screen stacks three two-beat slogans around the gamesrc/pages/index.tsx:439

Now: the Adventure view carries the headline "Small paws. Big discoveries.", the map overlay "Find seeds. Follow signals.

Make discoveries." (src/components/game-map.tsx:278) and the note heading "A little play. A real connection." directly under the game card.

Change to: keep "Small paws. Big discoveries." as the only slogan; change the map overlay line to "Collect 5 seeds, then visit a station." and change the note heading to "Imaginary valley, real chain data" (the body line under it stays).

Why: the hero headline is the one line that should stick; repeating its rhythm twice more dilutes it, and the overlay is the place for a direction, not a slogan.

Width 390 and 1440, taste@1 slogans check: 3 two-beat lines listed (#main h1, div.world-note strong, div.map-welcome span). Screenshot 390.png shows the h1 at the top and the note heading at y about 778, both on the first screen at 844 tall.
