Build an upgraded version of Squeek Tales (living story game for Squeekchain on Sepolia).

Core idea: Every 10-minute settled Squeekchain round advances the story. Players can vote on the next story branch.

New requirement — On-chain voting:

  • Deploy a simple voting contract on Ethereum Sepolia that records votes (roundId, choice, voter address, timestamp).
  • When a player connects wallet (wagmi + viem) and votes, send a real transaction to the contract and show the tx hash + status in the UI.
  • After the round settles, read the official Squeekchain result (from API or SqueekCore events) to decide which story path actually happened.
  • Show current story chapter, cute hamster illustrations, live round status, and a simple leaderboard of voters.

Keep it fully playable, mobile-friendly, cute aesthetic, and deploy to *.imd.site.

Work

  1. Posted37 minto the first attempt
  2. Build websiteAgent #148682 files changed

Built the playable site, static export, and compiled voting contract. Build/typecheck, 8 tests, 17 interaction checks, and 16/16 design checks passed.

Sepolia voting still needs a funded deployer wallet. Public hosting and WebKit remain unverified. No deployment or live data was fabricated.

  3. Design criticAgent #3found 4 medium, 2 low

I reviewed the site and wrote 6 findings to .imd-findings.json: 0 high, 4 medium and 2 low. The site does what the brief asks and fakes nothing, but on phones it hides some vote and chapter details, and the copy needs work. I changed no tracked files.

    AreaThis review
Brief requirements14: 12 met, 0 missing, 0 faked, 1 after review, 1 needs the requester
    Broken features0
Product on the first screen at 390Yes. "Where should Pip go?" sits at 538px and its button at 733–781px, inside an 844px-tall screen
taste@1 checks passed16/16 with the live data; 15/16 with external sites blocked (glyphs: "Round —")
Copy findings4 (headline and slogans, a repeated "not deployed" line, two section headings, an em dash)
Share cardYes: title, favicon, og:title, og:image ./share.png, description

    Requirements

    • "Every 10-minute settled Squeekchain round advances the story": met. The chapter number is the last settled round (src/App.tsx:40); it showed Chapter 854 with the live data.
    • "Players can vote on the next story branch": met in the code (src/components/VotePanel.tsx). Voting is switched off until the contract is deployed, and the page says so.
    • "Deploy a simple voting contract on Ethereum Sepolia that records votes…": needs the requester, who must deploy it from a funded Sepolia wallet. The contract source is contracts/SqueekTalesVoting.sol and the deploy screen is src/components/Setup.tsx, but the contract address in public/config.json is still empty. The page says plainly that the contract is not deployed. I did not check the contract's code or its fields (round, choice, voter, timestamp).
    • "connect wallet (wagmi + viem)": met. The Connect button is in the header (src/components/Wallet.tsx).
    • "send a real transaction … show the tx hash + status": met in the code (VotePanel.tsx:61-64 and 85-86). I couldn't run it: there is no wallet here and no deployed contract.
    • "read the official Squeekchain result (from API or SqueekCore events)": met. The site reads api.squeekchain.com/v1/core and the chain's roundPage call (src/lib/hooks.ts).
    • "Show current story chapter": met (#chapter-heading).
    • "cute hamster illustrations": met (public/forest.svg, public/favicon.svg).
    • "live round status": met (round panel and countdown, App.tsx:75). On phones the vote card drops the round number (finding 2).
    • "simple leaderboard of voters": met. It reads from the contract (hooks.ts:71-78) and shows an honest empty state until the contract is deployed.
    • "fully playable": met. In Chromium, the local preview went from chapter 1 to 2, the "Preview this path" popup opened, and there were no script errors.
    • "mobile-friendly": met. No sideways scrolling at 320, 390 or 1440. Two phone-only cuts hide data (findings 1 and 2).
    • "cute aesthetic": met.
    • "deploy to *.imd.site": after review.

The idea: Pip the hamster's woodland storybook, which turns one page each time a Squeekchain round settles, carried by one illustrated forest scene beside the vote card.

    Findings

    1. Medium, fidelity: on phones, src/styles.css:312 hides the "View on-chain" link to the settlement that chose the story path.
    2. Medium, fidelity: on phones, src/styles.css:315 and 319 hide the vote card's round number and both path descriptions.
    3. Medium, taste: the headline "Little paws. Big adventures." is generic, and four slogans pile up around it (App.tsx:58). Suggested replacement: "One round. One new page." The finding has the full replacement copy.
    4. Medium, taste: the vote card says "not deployed" twice in a row; delete the disabled line (VotePanel.tsx:80).
    5. Low, taste: rename the round panel and leaderboard headings to "Round status" and "Top voters" (App.tsx:75 and 80).
    6. Low, taste: "Round —" uses an em dash while the round is still loading (VotePanel.tsx:69).

    How I checked, and what I couldn't

    • mediumfidelity: the 390 layout hides the 'View on-chain' link that proves which settled round chose the pathsrc/styles.css:312

Now: under the phone media query, .chapter-footer .text-link is display:none, so the 'View on-chain' link (App.tsx:71, explorerTx(latest.transactionHash)) for the settlement that decided the chapter is removed on phones; only 'Settled round 854 · 0 work units' remains.

Change to: delete line 312 so the link shows at every width; the footer already uses justify-content space-between, so the link sits right of 'Settled round N · W work units' (let .chapter-footer wrap if it does not fit at 320).

Why: the brief asks to 'read the official Squeekchain result ... to decide which story path actually happened' on a 'mobile-friendly' site; the link to the settlement transaction is how a visitor checks that, and a cut must not hide data people need.

Width 390 (Chromium, Playwright, dist/ served locally, live API reachable, settledThroughRound 854).

Load the page, wait for the chapter.

Measured: getComputedStyle(document.querySelector('.chapter-footer .text-link')).display === 'none' at 390; at 1440 the same link is visible.

The 390-full probe screenshot shows 'Settled round 854 · 0 work units' with no link beside it.

    • mediumfidelity: on phones the vote panel drops the round number and both path descriptionssrc/styles.css:319

Now: the phone media query sets .section-top {display:none} (line 315) and .choice-content > span {display:none} (line 319). At 390 the vote card loses 'Round 855' (the round the vote is for) and the descriptions under each choice ('Trade a seed for a pocket of starlight.', 'A warm pie is cooling by the river.'), so a phone visitor picks between two bare titles without knowing the round.

Change to: delete line 319 so the description shows under each title (cards grow about 20px each), and in place of hiding .section-top, keep it and hide only its left label: replace line 315 with .section-top .icon-label { display: none; } so 'Round 855' sits right-aligned above 'Where should Pip go?'.

Why: the brief asks for 'live round status' and a vote 'on the next story branch' that is 'mobile-friendly'; a cut never hides data or labels people need to make the choice.

      Width 390, Chromium.

Load the page with the live feed.

      Measured: getComputedStyle(document.querySelector('.section-top')).display === 'none'; each .choice-content > span is display:none.

Probe screenshot 390.png shows the card with only 'Visit the lantern stall' / 'Follow the berry scent'; 1440.png shows 'Round 855' and both descriptions in the same card.

    • mediumtaste: the hero headline is generic and four voice lines stack around itsrc/App.tsx:58

Now: the h1 'Little paws. Big adventures.' could belong to any pet product and never names the unfamiliar action (a Sepolia vote on the next branch). At 1440 the .intro-note beside it adds 'A little curiosity goes a long way. / Come see where the story takes us.', and the page also carries 'A small choice. A shared story.' and 'Made for little moments of wonder.': a stack of slogans.

Change to: headline 'One round. One new page.' (keep the green on 'One new page.'); line under it 'A hamster story that turns a page each time a Squeekchain round settles. Vote on Sepolia for where Pip goes next.'; delete the whole so the h1 block spans the row and the tabs move up.

Why: the hero is a pair, the headline belongs only to this product, and when the main action is unfamiliar or costs gas the hero states it; four or more slogans is a stack to cut.

      Width 1440, Chromium.

      Load the page.

      Probe 1440.png shows 'Little paws.

Big adventures.' with the intro-note slogans at the right; the probe 'slogans' check lists 'Little paws.

Big adventures.' and 'A small choice.

A shared story.' as two-beat lines; footer adds 'Made for little moments of wonder.'

At 390 the h1 is the first content and no line on the first screen says votes are on-chain.

    • mediumtaste: three stacked lines in the vote card all say voting is not deployedsrc/components/VotePanel.tsx:80

Now: with votingAddress null (public/config.json) the card shows a disabled button 'On-chain voting not yet deployed', then the note 'On-chain voting opens after the voting contract is deployed.', then 'Deployment details'. The first two lines repeat each other.

Change to: delete the .unavailable-vote button (line 80); the vote-note 'On-chain voting opens after the voting contract is deployed.' moves up about 36px under 'Preview this path', and 'Deployment details' stays as the link.

Why: a line that repeats another is cut; the honest not-deployed explanation stays once.

Width 390 and 1440, Chromium, dist/ as built (votingAddress null).

      Load the page.

Probe 390.png and 1440.png show 'On-chain voting not yet deployed' directly above 'On-chain voting opens after the voting contract is deployed.'

    • lowtaste: the round panel and leaderboard headings are voice lines, not the names of what they showsrc/App.tsx:75

Now: the live round status card is titled 'The wheel keeps turning' and the leaderboard 'The story shapers' (App.tsx:80); a reader scanning for the round clock or the voter ranking has to decode them.

Change to: 'Round status' for the live heading (keep 'Meanwhile, on Squeekchain' in preview or rename it 'Squeekchain round status') and 'Top voters' for the leaderboard h2, keeping the Radio and Trophy icons.

Why: the brief names these features 'live round status' and 'a simple leaderboard of voters'; data panels are headed by what they show.

Width 390, Chromium. Scroll below the vote card: probe 390-full.png shows 'The wheel keeps turning' over 'Current round 855 / Next round in 00:07' and 'The story shapers' over the voter empty state.

    • lowtaste: an em dash stands in for the round number while the feed loadssrc/components/VotePanel.tsx:69

Now: before the feed answers (or when it cannot be reached) the vote card reads 'Round —'; App.tsx:75 uses the same '—' and '—:—' in the round panel.

Change to: render nothing after 'Round' until the round is known, i.e. round > 0n ? Round ${round} : 'Reading round…', and 'Reading…' in place of '—' / '—:—' in the round panel.

Why: no em dashes in interface text; a state says only what the app knows.

Width 1440, Chromium, probe run with --offline (external API blocked). The probe 'glyphs' check fails with: em dash in aside.adventure-sidebar > section.vote-panel > div.section-top > span.small.muted "Round —".
