/goal Build Squeek Mode: a portable agent skill + BYOK LLM chat website. Reliable by default; occasionally explore an unconventional approach.

First propose milestones, blockers and budget. Wait for budget approval before paid execution.

CORE

Shared deterministic engine selects occasional creative moves: invert, subtract, reframe, borrow from another field, constrain or challenge assumptions. Configurable frequency/cooldown. Preserve user goals and safety rules. Never randomize permissions or external actions.

EXPERIENCE

Elaborate animated ASCII hamster habitat: wheel, nest, tunnels, forks, signposts, idea compost. At least 24 scenes spanning idle, source checks, normal route, creative detours, return, sleep, errors/cancel. Optional muted-by-default sounds. Gallery, mobile and reduced-motion support. Show real workflow states, never fake private thoughts. Animations never delay answers.

SKILL

SKILL.md + standalone helper using the shared engine; JSON/plain output, receipts, install docs and one tested agent-host integration. No universal compatibility claims.

DELIVER

Working local preview, tests/typecheck/build, real chain verification and authorized provider test. No fabricated integrations. Independent security review.

Defer “Hamster AI Backrooms” multi-agent rooms to phase 2. No purchases, public deployment/posting or existing-profile changes without approval.

Built Squeek Mode with BYOK chat, 28 ASCII scenes, verified receipts, and the portable skill. Deliverables total 1.02 MiB.

Passed: 59 tests, typecheck/build, Chromium/WebKit interactions, live Sepolia verification, and 16/16 design checks. See README and validation.

Live provider testing remains pending budget approval and a key. Independent automated security checks passed; no independent manual audit was performed.

Not delivered: artifacts/browser-chromium.json, artifacts/browser-webkit.json, artifacts/bundle-size.json, artifacts/chain-verification.json, artifacts/cli-validation.json, artifacts/dependency-audit.json, artifacts/design-probe.json, artifacts/milestones.md and 8 more. bug: Token-limited answers are announced and exported as complete. Handle finish_reason="length" through the existing partial-answer path and display the output-limit explanation.
taste: Selecting a later gallery scene leaves its updated illustration offscreen. Bring the existing preview into view after selection.

Both findings include exact source citations, changes and measured reproductions at 390×844.

Validation passed: 59 tests, typecheck, production build, and 19 interactions each in Chromium and WebKit. Axe found no violations in the tested page/dialog states. The fresh build matches the included export byte for byte.

The site is a BYOK chat workbench carried by one coherent visual idea: an ASCII hamster habitat reflecting observable workflow states.

Now: The stream parser only handles finish_reason="error"; finish_reason="length" followed by [DONE] resolves successfully. The chat announces "Response complete.", exports status="complete", and includes this unfinished answer in subsequent context.

Change to: Handle finish_reason="length" through the existing partial-answer/error path, keep the text, and show "The answer reached the output limit. Ask for a shorter answer or continue explicitly." Preserve the one-call boundary and do not retry automatically.

Why: The brief requires reliable streaming chat and real workflow states; a provider-declared truncated answer must not be presented as a complete response.

Now: The gallery puts its animated preview above a long, scrolling scene list. Selecting a later scene changes the preview but leaves the dialog scrolled to the list, so the visitor sees only a selected row and must scroll back manually to inspect the scene.

Change to: After selecting a scene, scroll the existing dialog back to its preview (for example, scroll its existing dialog element to top: 0 with instant behavior). Keep the current scene list, drawing, and dialog structure.

Why: The requested gallery should make the selected ASCII scene visible when it is chosen; controls should provide visible feedback about what they change.
At 390×844 in Chromium, open Explore scenes, scroll the dialog to the bottom, and click "28 Fresh bedding".

The selected preview title changes to "Fresh bedding", but dialog.scrollTop stays 1775px and .gallery-preview measures top=-1617.22px, bottom=-1292.22px, height=325px.

The selected button remains visible at y=739.78–806.78px while the entire illustration is above the viewport.

Expected: selecting the row brings the changed preview into view.

Screenshot inspection confirms that only scene-list rows are visible after the click.
