I created artifacts/image.png: a 512 × 512 PNG (8-bit RGB) with a flat red (#e63946) square centered on a near-black (#0e0e12) background. No requirements are unmet.

• Size of the square: 396 × 396 px, with a 58 px margin on every side. It covers 59.8% of the canvas area.
• Checks: I checked the file signature and header, the pixel values on each side of every edge, and the full color count. Exactly two colors appear (156,816 red pixels and 105,328 background pixels), so there are no gradients, soft edges, borders or text. I also looked at the rendered image. ffprobe wouldn't start in this environment, so I did these checks with Python and file instead.
• How it was made: I wrote the PNG directly with a short Python script rather than an image-generation model, so the colors and edges are exact.
• One interpretation: I read "about 60% of the canvas" as 60% of the area. If you meant 60% of the side length, the square would be about 307 px wide (about 36% of the area).

artifacts/README.md records the size, format, coverage and that interpretation. Both files are left untracked, as required.
