  7. Add multiple difficulty levels and replay functionality.
  8. Save player progress locally.

SQUEEKCHAIN INTEGRATION:

  • Follow official developer documentation at https://docs.squeekchain.com/developers/
  • Use real documented Squeekchain API endpoints where applicable.
  • Add wallet connection using supported official methods.
  • Make the gameplay off-chain and fast.
  • Use existing officially documented blockchain functionality for match records if available.
  • Never invent contract addresses, API responses or blockchain transactions.
  • Clearly identify features that require additional deployment.

QUALITY:

  • Fully playable without connecting a wallet.
  • No placeholder buttons.
  • No fake leaderboard data presented as real.
  • Test all gameplay interactions.

    • highbug: the mobile progress strip overlaps XP and winssrc/styles.css:1829

Now: The mobile progress strip keeps the emblem, level meter, and all three career statistics in one flex row. The level meter collapses to 34px at 320px, so its XP label spills over the wins number; this shared component appears on menu, selection, and battle screens.

Change to: In the existing max-width:760px rule, replace .level-progress flex:1 with flex:1 0 calc(100% - 54px), reserving the first row for the emblem and level meter and wrapping the career statistics beneath it. Keep the full XP and level labels readable.

Why: The brief requires professional responsive desktop/mobile design, and the review bar prohibits text over text at 320px.

Chromium, 320×844, fresh local storage: open the menu and scroll to the progress strip; repeat after Play now and after Enter the arena.

      The .level-progress box is x58–92 (34px wide), but “0 / 100 XP” renders at x99.81–165.22, y943.36–959.36.

The wins “0” renders at x126–140, y945.17–974.17: their glyph boxes intersect by 14×14.19px.

A screenshot shows the wins numeral printed over “100 XP”.

The same overlap occurs in selection and battle; the entry-page taste layout pass does not catch this text-node overflow.

    • mediumtaste: four slogan-style lines compete on the main menusrc/components/GameViews.tsx:109

Now: The menu repeats the two-beat slogan device in the headline, description, free-play note, and warrior-section description.

Change to: Keep “Small paws. Big battles.”; replace the description with “A turn-based hamster battle game.”, the play note with “Play free without a wallet.”, and the warrior description with “Choose a warrior to explore their abilities.” Preserve the existing compact spacing.

Why: The supplied copy checklist limits slogan stacks to three and asks for one plain descriptive sentence beneath the headline.

At 390×844, open the fresh menu and scroll to the warrior previews. taste@1 slogans fails with 4 two-beat lines: “Small paws.

Big battles.”, “A turn-based pixel brawler.

      Pick your hamster.

Make every turn count.”, “Free to play.

No wallet needed.”, and “Three tiny warriors.

No wrong choices.” The screenshot confirms the first three together above the fighters and the fourth directly below the arena.

    • mediumbug: battle results claim a successful save when storage is blockedsrc/components/GameViews.tsx:493

Now: Every completed battle displays “Saved in this browser” even after saveProgress returns false. The alert correctly says saving failed, but dismissing it also changes the desktop indicator from “Session only” to “Local progress” without any successful write.

Change to: Keep persistence status separate from the dismissible warning. Pass the actual save result into BattleView; show “Saved in this browser” only after success and “Session only · Progress could not be saved” on failure. Dismissing the notice must leave the session-only indicator intact.

Why: Success and failure states must say only what the application knows; players need accurate information about the brief’s locally saved progress.

      Chromium, 390×844, fresh context: use page.addInitScript(() => { Math.random = () => 0.5; Storage.prototype.setItem = function () { throw new DOMException("blocked", "SecurityError"); }; }); then load the site.

Choose Play now → Enter the arena and use Attack, Attack, Special to win the Rookie battle.

The result says “+60 XP / Saved in this browser” while the alert says “Progress cannot be saved in this browser.

Keep this tab open to continue this session.” localStorage.getItem("battle-hamster:progress:v1") is null, so reloading restores 0 XP and 0 wins.

At 1440×1000 with the same blocked storage, click Enable sound: the header says “Session only”; click Dismiss save notice and it incorrectly changes to “Local progress”.

Expected: session-only wording remains until a write actually succeeds.

    • mediumaccessibility: closing the first wallet dialog loses the trigger focussrc/components/WalletLauncher.tsx:71

Now: The first Connect interaction replaces the focused launcher with the lazy wallet component. Modal captures BODY as the previous active element, so Escape closes the dialog without returning focus to the current Connect wallet button. Later opens restore focus correctly.

Change to: Give the rendered wallet header button a ref and use it as the wallet dialog’s explicit focus-restoration target after closing, including the initial lazy-load path. Keep the existing lazy loading and connector behavior.

Why: A keyboard user closing a modal should return to its invoking control; the review checklist explicitly requires native focus behavior across the main interaction states.

Chromium, 390×844, fresh browser context without wagmi.store or a wallet extension: focus Connect wallet with the keyboard, press Enter, wait for the Connect a wallet dialog, then press Escape. document.activeElement.tagName is BODY and its aria-label is null; the next Tab lands on Play in the game navigation.

Expected: document.activeElement is the current header button with aria-label="Connect wallet".

Open and close the same dialog a second time: focus correctly returns to that button, isolating the defect to the initial lazy-load replacement.

All four previous findings are fixed:

    • Mobile progress overlap: Chromium and WebKit show a 250px-wide XP meter at 320px, with career statistics below it on menu, selection, and battle screens.
    • Competing slogans: The menu now has one slogan and plain descriptive copy; taste@1 passes.
    • False save confirmation: Blocked storage produces “Session only · Progress could not be saved.” Dismissing the warning preserves “Session only” at 390px and 1440px.
    • Wallet focus restoration: Closing the first lazy-loaded wallet dialog returns focus to the current Connect wallet button in both browsers.
