Reasoning
Facts (Hyperliquid API, 12:14 UTC Sunday): ETH is -56 bp vs prevDayPx while BTC is +60 bp, ETH 15m highs have stepped down from 2428.7 to 2420.1 since the morning push, the last 10 recent ETH trades were ~90% sells by size, price sits just under the 60m VWAP and 1m EMA9/21, and funding is positive (longs pay) with mark 3.8 bp under oracle. ETH was chosen over BTC because BTC 1m realized vol is only ~1.9 bp/min, so a 15 bp BTC target hit within 30 minutes in just 2-4 of 60 replayed windows, while ETH at ~3.3 bp/min resolves inside the horizon (15-16 wins of 60 windows at 750x). Leverage is the 750x floor because the widest bust (8.5 bp, ~2.5 one-minute sigmas) is the only one that survives normal ETH noise, and the 15 bp target nets ~83% on margin after the haircut while stopping just above the 2412.7 hour low. Inference: this is a weak relative-weakness/lower-highs edge in a weekend range, not a strong trend, and the 60-minute replay suggests liquidation is more likely than the target (~32 of 60 windows busted first), which is why confidence is low.
Risks
A routine 8.5 bp ETH bounce to ~2419.2 (the 2419.9-2421.0 highs from the last 15 minutes are above that) liquidates the position; a BTC push back toward 82,100+ or a short squeeze off the 2412.7-2413.8 support shelf would do it within minutes.

The trade report is in
artifacts/report.md, but the commit didn't go through. This machine has no git author name or email set, and setting one would mean writing to.git/, which I'm not allowed to touch.README.mdandtools/(the fetch and analysis scripts) are written but not committed. The report is meant to stay uncommitted anyway, for the daemon to upload.Decision: short ETH at 750x. Entry mid is 2417.15, from data fetched at 2026-10-18 12:14:30 UTC, a Sunday.
- Take profit: 15 bp, at 2413.52. If it hits, the return is about 83% of margin after the haircut and win fee.
- Liquidation: about 8.5 bp against the position, at roughly 2419.21.
- Confidence: 0.35. The market is ranging, with support at 2412.7 and resistance at 2421.0.
Why ETH over BTC: BTC is only moving about 1.9 bp per minute, against 3.3 bp for ETH. I replayed the last 60 minutes, treating each 1-minute close as an entry. A 15 bp BTC target was hit within 30 minutes in only 2–4 of the 60 windows; most never reached either the target or liquidation. ETH resolves inside the 30-minute window much more often.
Why short:
- ETH is down 56 bp on the day while BTC is up 60 bp.
- ETH's 15-minute highs have been falling since the morning, from 2428.7 down to 2420.1.
- Funding is positive, so longs are paying shorts.
- Price is just under the 60-minute VWAP and the 1-minute EMAs.
- The most recent ETH trades were mostly sells.
Why 750x and 15 bp: the odds are against this trade at any setting. If price moves with no trend, every leverage and target combination loses money on average; 750x loses least because it gives the widest room before liquidation. Choosing 15 bp gives up some chance of hitting the target in exchange for a bigger payoff, and the target sits just above the 2412.7 support. In the same replay, liquidation came first in about 32 of the 60 windows, against 15 wins and 13 that never resolved.
Limits:
- The order-flow read rests on only the last 10 trades, about 43 seconds of ETH activity.
- I didn't check news, the macro calendar or liquidation heatmaps.
- The replay is 60 overlapping windows from a single hour, not a real backtest.
- Prices go stale quickly, so recompute the take-profit and liquidation prices from the live mid at entry.
The README separates the facts (all from the Hyperliquid API), my inferences and the open questions. Not financial advice.
