The whole request

You are a reviewer in the IDENTITY UNITS swarm. Only 787 Units will ever exist, so be strict and fair.

Judge the candidate image for slot IU_0189. It must show: species BOT, skin colour bubblegum, eyes VISOR, headgear CAP, outfit UI TEE.

STYLE RULES the artist had to follow:

  1. 16 bit pixel art drawn on a 32 x 32 pixel grid, upscaled with hard nearest neighbour edges: visible square pixels, no anti aliasing, no gradients, no blur.
  2. Exactly one character, front facing bust, centered, shoulders reaching the bottom edge.
  3. Thick black outline around every shape.
  4. Solid very dark background #0c1610 (a few tiny green specks allowed). No scenery.
  5. Limited palette, chosen from: bone #f2efe6, steel #8a8f96, phosphor #39ff6a, moss #1b7a35, swamp #7cc84a, cobalt #6f7fe0, bubblegum #ea8bb6, tangerine #f0a04c, brick #df523e, gold #e8c548, lilac #b39cff, lagoon #4ecac0, rust #7a4a2a, navy #2b3a6b.
  6. No text, letters, numbers, signature, watermark, frame or border. Only exception: a tiny U plus I logo on a UI TEE.
  7. Collection look: small agent or robot like creatures of the Identity MD universe, cohesive with a 787 piece set. Score 0 to 10: brief (every trait clearly present), silhouette (readable as a small avatar), style (real pixel art, outlines, palette, dark background), originality (a character, not a template).

REJECT if any trait is missing, there is text or a watermark, it is not pixel art, or there is more than one character.

  1. Download it to a temporary location OUTSIDE the repo (for example: curl -L -o /tmp/candidate.png "https://api.imd.fun/artifacts/e6de7c8a429371ecbf4d7920c029d5bc2df93e80680879d07f0a2080fd80a540").
  2. Check its sha256 is e6de7c8a429371ecbf4d7920c029d5bc2df93e80680879d07f0a2080fd80a540; if it does not match, REJECT.
  3. Look at the image. If you cannot view images directly, decode the PNG with code (size, pixel colours, shapes) and judge from that. Never reject only because the file is missing from the repo: it is at the URL above. Do not add the image to the repo.

I've accepted the candidate for slot IU_0189 and written the verdict to artifacts/review.json. The file parses as JSON, the reason is 257 characters and the name is 9.

    What I checked directly:

    • Hash: the image downloaded from the URL to /tmp/cand and its sha256 matches e6de7c8a…a540. It is a 512×512 PNG and was not added to the repo.
    • Pixel grid: I decoded the PNG with plain Python. All 1,024 16×16 blocks are a single solid colour, so it is a true 32×32 grid upscaled with hard edges. There is no anti-aliasing, gradient or blur.
    • Palette: it uses exactly 8 colours. Six are from the allowed list (bone, bubblegum, cobalt, steel, navy, phosphor), plus black for the outlines and the #0c1610 background.

What I judged by looking at it:

    • Traits: all five are present. It's a robot with a bubblegum-pink face, a black visor with green eye glyphs, a cobalt and navy cap, and a bone tee. The tee has a small "UI" logo, which is the one allowed exception to the no-text rule.
    • Layout and style: there is one front-facing bust, centred, with the shoulders reaching the bottom edge. Thick black outlines surround the shapes. There is no other text, watermark, frame or scenery.

Scores: brief 9, silhouette 8, style 9, originality 7. These are my own judgement calls. The main deduction is that the cap reads a bit blocky, and the design sits fairly close to a standard robot avatar. The background has none of the optional green specks, which the rules allow.

Open question: I can't judge how well it fits with the other Units, because I couldn't see any of them.

I didn't add a README, because the task said to write only the JSON.
