BLACKOUT site: art, landing and polish upgrade. Update the existing site in place and keep the same label blackout-mine-the-city-pray-the (public domain: playblackout.xyz). Do not change game logic or numbers.

Project X: https://x.com/IMDBlackout

Keep the 16-bit pixel style and palette (navy/purple base, neon cyan #39E6FF, yellow #FFE600, magenta #FF3DF2, CRT scanlines).

  1. LANDING HERO: replace the hero city with a richer living skyline.
  • Remove all text labels on buildings (CRYPTO, MINE, PACK, GPU, MINING).
  • 3 parallax layers: far silhouettes, mid buildings with detailed lit windows, near rooftops with antennas, AC units and small glowing mining rigs.
  • The 8 district landmarks in the skyline, a central grid control tower with a slow red eye (the swarm dispatcher).
  • Loop: windows flicker; every 8-12 s a blackout wave rolls across one district (windows go dark block by block, sparks at a substation), then power returns; occasional lightning that hits a substation with a white flash; light rain, drifting smoke, small drones.
  • Logo with an electric flicker on load.
  1. LANDING BELOW THE HERO (now almost empty): add sections
  • How it works: 4 steps with pixel illustrations (open a pack, build a room, survive the grid, claim).
  • Hardware showcase: scrolling row of all 12 items with rarity glow.
  • The grid: 3 event cards (outage, server fire, green wave) with dispatcher letters.
  • Run by the swarm: short text about the IMD swarm operating the city, with the hooded dispatcher character.
  • Launch: anti-sniper buy tax starts at 90% and drops to normal over 30 minutes, all of it goes to the reward pool; max buy 0.5 ETH per swap for the first hour; packs open 1 hour after the token. Button "Follow @IMDBlackout for launch time".
  • FAQ (5 short questions) and the footer.
  1. ITEM SPRITES: redraw all 12 items as detailed 64x64 pixel sprites with unique silhouettes: GPU (dual fans, heatsink), ASIC (boxy miner, LEDs), FPGA (green board, big chip, gold traces), Power Supply (cables, fan grille), Battery (cell pack, charge bars), Solar Panel (tilted cells), Fan (blades, frame), Liquid Cooling (radiator, tubes, reservoir), Router (antennas, signal), Motherboard (slots, capacitors, socket), Server Rack (stacked units, lights), Surge Protector (sockets, shield bolt). Rarity: Common plain; Rare cyan trim glow; Epic magenta trim and sparks; Legendary gold animated shimmer; Mythic red/black electric aura. Damage shows cracks/smoke. Same sprites everywhere.

  2. DISTRICTS: 8 distinct districts with name, accent color, landmark and idle animation on the CITY map and cards: Neon Row (signs, holograms, magenta), Copper Yard (factories, smokestacks, orange), Stack Heights (glass towers, cyan), Old Circuit (brick, tangled wires, amber), Ghost Quarter (abandoned, flickering, pale green), Relay Point (radio towers, dishes, blue), Dockside (cranes, containers, water, teal), Solar Hill (solar roofs, wind turbine, yellow). Event visuals per district (dark windows, fire glow, sparks, green light, cut cable). Highlight the player's district.

  3. GAME PAGES LAYOUT: content now starts too low because every tab stacks top bar + sync line + warning + onboarding card.

  • Onboarding becomes small floating coach marks pointing at the real button, not a big card.
  • Warnings become one compact dismissible strip; worn-hardware warning only below 50% durability.
  • Top bar stays sticky and compact on scroll. The page title and main content visible without scrolling on a laptop.
  • Larger, higher-contrast body text (min 14px, readable gray), clearer section spacing.
  1. MOTION AND FEEL:
  • First visit per session: 1 s boot screen ("GRID ONLINE", scanline sweep), skippable.
  • Tab switch: quick CRT flicker/glitch transition.
  • Pixel buttons with hover glow and press-down effect.
  • Claim: number count-up and a small token burst; level up: flash and badge.
  • Pack opening: shake, seal break, light burst, cards flip one by one, rarity glow, full-screen flash for Legendary/Mythic.
  • Optional 8-bit sounds (pack, reveal, claim, events), off by default with a toggle.
  • Respect prefers-reduced-motion.
  1. SHARE AND PREVIEWS:
  • After an Epic+ reveal: "Share on X" opens a post intent: "I just pulled a [Legendary GPU] in the BLACKOUT demo. Mine the city: playblackout.xyz @IMDBlackout", plus a downloadable pixel card image.
  • Open Graph and Twitter card meta (large image) on every page with a 1200x630 city preview; favicon and app icon from the logo.
  1. Performance: sprite sheets, no layout shift, fast on mobile.

Saved 3 medium findings to .imd-findings.json. Application files are unchanged.

    • bug: The pack coach covers the price and currency selector. Reposition it away from payment controls.
    • accessibility: Keyboard focus disappears beneath mobile navigation. Adding 78px bottom scroll padding resolved both measured occurrences.
    • taste: Five distinct slogan stacks repeat across the landing. Replace three with direct explanatory copy.

Each finding includes exact source lines, replacement guidance, viewport dimensions, steps, and measured evidence.

Pack opening, reveals, sharing, downloads, and claiming passed in Chromium and WebKit at 320, 390, and 1440px. Warning thresholds, district effects, insufficient-funds recovery, and reduced motion also passed. No critical or high implementation defect was substantiated.

    • mediumbug: the pack coach mark covers the price and payment controlssrc/main.ts:202

Now: The first pack coach is placed immediately above Open demo pack whenever there is insufficient space below it, covering the live price and payment selector on phones and laptops.

Change to: Choose a placement that does not intersect .live-price or .currency-picker; on narrow screens reduce the coach to its title and dismiss control over the pack illustration, with its pointer still aimed at #open-pack. Preserve the price, currency labels and open button in view.

Why: The brief asks for compact coach marks pointing at real controls, while the review bar requires controls and the explanation of an unfamiliar paid action to remain visible.

At 390×844 in Chromium, clear localStorage and sessionStorage, open #/packs, and leave the first guide open. #coach-mark occupies x=33..305, y=526.53..665.31; .live-price occupies y=500.36..577.14 and .currency-picker y=589.14..663.53.

Both radio centers (104,641.53) and (176,641.53) hit coach descendants through document.elementFromPoint rather than their inputs.

The 0.00999 ETH amount and payment choices are obscured.

At 1440×844 the coach likewise covers y=632.92..775.70 while the entire payment selector is at y=691.53..765.92.

Dismissing the guide exposes the controls.

Expected: the guide points at Open demo pack without obscuring its price or payment choice.

    • mediumaccessibility: keyboard focus disappears beneath the mobile tab barsrc/style.css:775

Now: The scroll container reserves space for the sticky header but none for the fixed mobile navigation. Keyboard focus can land entirely behind the bottom tabs.

Change to: In the max-width:600px rules, reserve the tab bar height with html { scroll-padding-bottom: calc(78px + env(safe-area-inset-bottom)); }, and verify tabbing and focused controls scroll above the bar. Keep the current top padding and navigation.

Why: A keyboard user must be able to see the focused control; the review explicitly checks fixed controls covering text and usable mobile layouts.

At 390×844 in Chromium, open a fresh #/farm and dismiss the guide.

Use Skip to content (or focus #main), then press Tab eight times while Claim is disabled. document.activeElement becomes #combos-0-summary.

Its rectangle is x=29..361, y=787.92..834.31, entirely beneath nav.game-nav at y≈782..844; elementFromPoint at its center returns the Season tab.

The same traversal later hides the footer BLACKOUT link at y=817.23..843.63.

Expected: each focused control and its focus indication are visible above the fixed tabs without manually scrolling.

A browser-only check adding the proposed scroll-padding-bottom eliminates both hidden control stops; no repository CSS was changed.

    • mediumtaste: repeated slogan stacks dilute the landing explanationsrc/landing.ts:7

Now: Five distinct multi-beat promotional blocks repeat the hero’s cadence through the city caption, steps, hardware, swarm and final call to action; the probe reports seven because two enclosing containers are counted twice.

Change to: Replace the steps heading with "Build your mining farm." and its supporting line with "Open packs, fill rooms and claim what they mine." Replace the hardware subtitle with "Collect 12 hardware types across five rarities." Delete .swarm-lead so the factual IMD paragraph moves directly beneath "Run by the swarm." Keep the hero tagline, city caption and final call to action.

Why: The review copy bar permits at most three slogan blocks and asks section headings to explain the product; these changes preserve the pixel voice while giving each section a distinct job.

At 390×844 or 1440×900, open the landing and scroll through the full page.

The five distinct blocks are "Eight districts.

      One unreliable grid.", "Small room.

Big mining energy.", "Twelve item types.

      Five rarities.

Countless builds.", "The city is alive.

Its operators aren’t human.", and "One city.

      Eight districts.

      Your next move."

Running taste.mjs against dist yields slogans.passed=false and "7 two-beat lines; a stack is four or more".

Expected: retain at most three distinct slogan blocks and use explanatory headings/supporting copy for the remaining sections.
