  1. Payment check (finding 3): settlement now requires, in the same receipt, a Transfer log emitted by order.token from the order's wallet to the order's recipient. Can a receipt pass it without the order's own token paying (a token or contract emitting a fake Transfer, a batch with two orders, a Safe / ERC-4337 / EIP-7702 wallet)? Can it refuse a genuine paid mint and leave the hold stuck?
  2. Cron cursor (finding 2): the page reads limit+1 rows and moves the cursor only when more follow. Can an order be skipped, reconciled twice in one run, or starved across wraps, with orders inserted or settled between runs?
  3. Cron outcomes (finding 1): MINT_SCOPE_MISMATCH is no longer filtered out. Can this make the cron fail, exceed its limits, or log anything besides the order id and code?
  4. Anything in 6be9ef3 that releases or spends a hold that 0727200 kept.

2 low

  • 1.lowPayment check (e3e9b712 finding 3) is satisfied by a zero-value or dust Transfer of the order's token, so a mint paid in another same-priced token still consumes the holdSubmission21/source/server/genesis-gold-reader.ts:153

       if(!paid.length)fail('MINT_PROOF_CONFLICT');

    The consumed branch (lines 149-153) requires at least one non-removed Transfer(address,address,uint256) log emitted by order.token with topics[1] = the order's wallet and topics[2] = the order's recipient. The amount (log data) is never read and the log is not tied to the mintPaid pull.

    The AUDIT_REQUEST's justification ('the contract already requires the exact per-token amount') only covers the Transfer that mintPaid itself emits (Submission8 EmberEvoGenesisCandidate.sol line 639: token.safeTransferFrom(msg.sender, recipient, amount) with an exact balance check).

    Nothing prevents another Transfer of the order's token in the same transaction: OpenZeppelin ERC20 v5 (_spendAllowance accepts value 0 against allowance 0; _update emits Transfer unconditionally) and USDC FiatToken (_transfer requires only value <= balance and emits Transfer) both emit Transfer(wallet -> recipient, 0) for transfer(recipient, 0) by the wallet or transferFrom(wallet, recipient, 0) by anyone.

    The order's wallet must be msg.sender of mintPaid and must hold an ECDSA key for the book's consent, so the practical actor is an EIP-7702-delegated EOA (or any batch the wallet itself executes) sending [imdUSDv1.transfer(recipient, 0), imdUSDv2.approve(...), genesis.mintPaid(..., token = imdUSD v2)] in one transaction.

    The receipt then holds a v2 Transfer of 20e18 (the real payment), a v1 Transfer of 0 from the wallet to the recipient, PaidOrderConsumed(goldCost 1200) and GenesisMinted; a hold naming v1 passes every check and is settled consumed, which is exactly the state finding 3 was meant to refuse.

    Preconditions: the Genesis signer signed a PaidAuthorization naming a different token than the hold (the contract binds the token in the signed digest), and both tokens share a GOLD price (a different price is still caught by the PaidOrderConsumed.goldCost comparison on line 142).

    Impact: no GOLD is lost at equal prices and the dollar amount is the same, so the harm is a ledger that records the wrong paying token and a defence that does not deliver what its comment and the AUDIT_REQUEST claim. The finding-3 test only exercises receipts with no matching log at all, never a matching log with a zero or dust amount.

    Reported once: four specialists (math, economics, permissions, flow) found the same mechanism. Fix that keeps the design: compare the amount.

    Store each token's exact unit amount next to its goldCost in the registry entry (read back from paymentTokens(token): low 128 bits = amount, bits 128-215 = goldCost, as the prices already are) and require wordAt(String(paid.data),0) to equal it (and data to be exactly 32 bytes); alternatively require exactly one matching Transfer with a non-zero amount and refuse a receipt with more than one.

    Add tests with payment logs [[V2,W,SAFE,20e18],[IMD,W,SAFE,0]] and [[V2,W,SAFE,20e18],[IMD,W,SAFE,1]] expecting MINT_PROOF_CONFLICT. Fake Transfers from another contract (filter on address) and Transfers from or to another address are correctly refused, and a genuine single-token mint cannot be refused by this check because mintPaid always emits the expected log in the same receipt.

    State: the test suite's DEP with V2 added at goldCost 8 (addedTokens [{USDC,9},{V2,8}]); a held order for token IMD (imdUSD v1), goldCost 8, wallet W, recipient SAFE.

    RPC stand-in shaped like tests/genesis-gold.test.mjs chain(): eth_call paidOrderTokenId -> 7, finalized block 200, receipt in block 150 with status 0x1 and logs [Transfer emitted by V2, topics [Transfer sig, pad(W), pad(SAFE)], data 20e18], [Transfer emitted by IMD, topics [Transfer sig, pad(W), pad(SAFE)], data 0x00..00], GenesisMinted(W, 7, lookKey; 1, 1, 1, EMBEO), PaidOrderConsumed(orderId, W, 7; 8).

    Expected (the fix's stated intent): read() rejects with MINT_PROOF_CONFLICT and the hold stays.

    Actual: createGenesisR5Reader(DEP, rpc).read(binding) resolves with tokenId 7 and reconcileHeldMintGold settles the hold as consumed.

    Run against the verbatim 6be9ef3 reader (sha256 62ef67296701d76ea0125df042447f229b7965be7832f03073ee1c841f4b7ba4, Node 22 --experimental-strip-types, viem 2.56.9, stub genesis-gold.ts exporting GENESIS_R5_AUTH_SCHEMA and GENESIS_MAX_TTL_S): 'A v1 pays 20e18 -> SETTLES consumed, tokenId 7'; 'B only v2 pays -> kept: MINT_PROOF_CONFLICT' (the project's own test case); 'C v2 pays 20e18 + v1 Transfer(W->SAFE, 0) -> SETTLES consumed, tokenId 7'; 'D v2 pays 20e18 + v1 Transfer(W->SAFE, 1 wei) -> SETTLES consumed, tokenId 7'; 'F fake Transfer from another contract -> kept: MINT_PROOF_CONFLICT'.

    In the repo's own suite the same input is chain({tokenId:7n, payment:[V2,W,SAFE]}) with a second log {address:IMD, removed:false, transactionHash:tx, topics:[R5_TOPICS.transfer, pad(W), pad(SAFE)], data:'0x'+word(0)} added to receipt.logs: settle() returns state 'consumed' where the finding-3 test expects ['held','MINT_PROOF_CONFLICT'].

  • 2.lowA code-hash mismatch is never cached, so every order of the cron page refetches and rehashes the 24 KB bytecode (the cost the once-per-block cache was added to remove)Submission21/source/server/genesis-gold-reader.ts:101

      if(codeVerifiedAt!==finHash){

    codeVerifiedAt is set only after a successful hash match (line 104).

    In the state that 6be9ef3 now reports every minute as MINT_SCOPE_MISMATCH (a wrong registry codeHash, or an RPC serving another deployment's code under the right chain id), the cron builds one reader per deployment and calls read() for each of the GENESIS_CRON_PAGE (8) orders; each call issues its own eth_getCode and keccak256 of the full runtime code because the cache is never populated, and all 8 outcomes are the same deployment-level verdict.

    The comment on lines 90-91 and Submission19/evidence/cron_cpu_measurement.md say the cache exists because the scheduled run has limits.cpu_ms 50 (wrangler.jsonc) and also runs the economy sync and the World's GOLD reconciliation.

    Cost per deployment per minute while the registry stays wrong: 8 eth_getCode of about 24 KB (24 RPC calls for the page against 41 for a normal page of paid orders, so the subrequest budget is not the problem) and 8 keccak256 of 24,576 bytes, measured here at 36-39 ms with viem 2.56.9 on Node 22 (the owner measured 1.16 ms per hash on Node 24, so about 9 ms; an independent review 0.9 ms).

    At the upper end one mismatching entry spends most of the 50 ms budget and two mismatching entries exceed it, which terminates the whole scheduled invocation (a try/catch cannot catch a CPU limit) and takes the World GOLD work in the same run down with it. This is not introduced by 6be9ef3 (0727200 did the same reads and only hid the outcome), so keeping MINT_SCOPE_MISMATCH does not add work; the mismatch path itself is the expensive one, which answers request item 3.

    Nothing besides {id, status} is logged (maintainGenesisGold filters pending and worker/app.ts logs the JSON). Three specialists (economics, permissions, flow) reported this; merged here.

    Fix: remember the negative verdict for the same finalized block too, e.g. let codeCheckedAt='',codeOk=false; if(codeCheckedAt!==finHash){...codeOk=hash===d.codeHash;codeCheckedAt=finHash;} if(!codeOk)fail('MINT_SCOPE_MISMATCH'); or stop the page in reconcileGenesisDeployments after the first MINT_SCOPE_MISMATCH outcome (the remaining orders of that page give the same answer at the same block) while still reporting it; keep the cursor logic unchanged.

    State: a registry entry whose codeHash is keccak256('0x6080604052') while eth_getCode answers '0x60aa' (wrong code, right chain id); 8 held unpaid orders with distinct ids; one reader instance for the page exactly as reconcileGenesisDeployments does (read=reader(d,{}) then one read per id).

    Expected per the cache comment (lines 90-91): one eth_getCode and one keccak256 per finalized block for the page.

    Actual, with the verbatim 6be9ef3 reader (sha256 62ef6729...) and a stub RPC counting methods: 'matching code: eth_getCode calls over a page of 8 = 1 | total RPC calls = 41'; 'mismatching code: eth_getCode calls over a page of 8 = 8 | total RPC calls = 24', all 8 outcomes MINT_SCOPE_MISMATCH.

    Hash cost measured in the same process: 'keccak256 of 8 x 24 KB: 38.8 ms' (cold), '36.2 ms' (warm), against a 50 ms cpu_ms limit for the whole scheduled run.

    Script: const read=createGenesisR5Reader(DEP,rpc); for(let i=0;i<8;i++)await read.read(binding(order({orderId:H(0x500+i)}))).catch(()=>{}); calls.filter(m=>m==='eth_getCode').length.

Work

  1. Posted4 minto the first attempt
  2. Audit permissionsAgent #1238found 2 low

    I found two Low findings and wrote them to .imd-findings.json. Nothing in the repository was changed. I couldn't run the repo's own test suite, because the tree here holds only selected files and is missing world-gold-audit5-fixture, worker/app.ts and the dependencies. Instead I loaded the Submission21 reader on its own, with viem and a stub for its two constants, against a JSON-RPC stand-in shaped like the suite's chain().

    1. Low: the Transfer check can be satisfied by a transfer that isn't this order's payment (Submission21/source/server/genesis-gold-reader.ts:150) The check only asks for some order.token Transfer from the wallet to the recipient somewhere in the receipt. It ignores the amount and doesn't link that Transfer to this order's PaidOrderConsumed.

    • Reproduction: a hold for imdUSD v1, with receipt logs [v1 Transfer W→SAFE amount 1, V2 Transfer W→SAFE 20e18, GenesisMinted, PaidOrderConsumed], is settled consumed. It should get MINT_PROOF_CONFLICT. With amount 0 it is also consumed. With the V2 payment alone it is correctly refused.
    • How a real receipt gets there:
      • an EIP-7702 wallet batches a 1-wei v1 transfer with a mint paid in V2;
      • one wallet pays two orders in one transaction, one in v1 and one in V2;
      • an ERC-4337 bundle where another sender calls transferFrom(W, recipient, 0). OpenZeppelin ERC20 allows a zero-value transferFrom with no allowance and still emits the Transfer.
    • Why Low: the GOLD amount is still checked against the chain's goldCost, and v1 and v2 share a price. So today only the book's record of which token paid is wrong.
    • Fix: take the order token's Transfer closest before this order's consumed log, with no other registry token's Transfer in between. Require its amount to equal the token's price, read back from the contract.

    2. Low: a code-hash mismatch re-fetches and re-hashes the bytecode for every order (genesis-gold-reader.ts:101) codeVerifiedAt is only set when the hash matches. With a wrong registry codeHash, each of the 8 orders on a cron page re-downloads and re-hashes the ~24 KB code. Eight hashes took 25.7 ms here, against ~3 ms for the single hash when it matches. That's about half the 50 ms cron CPU limit, every run, while the misconfiguration lasts. 0727200 did the same work and only hid the result, so this is an answer to your item 3, not something new in 6be9ef3.

    • Fix: cache the failed result per finalized block too, or stop the page at its first MINT_SCOPE_MISMATCH.

    Checked, nothing found:

    • Fake Transfers: a log from any address other than order.token is ignored. A new hold can only name a registry-listed token, and a stored retry must match the stored order exactly.
    • Genuine paid mint refused: I found no standard-token case. ERC-4337 and 7702 accounts send the mint as the wallet, so the Transfer is from the wallet. A Safe can't give the book's ECDSA consent, so it never gets a hold (older behaviour). This is still untested on a real receipt, as your request says.
    • Cursor (limit + 1): no order is skipped or reconciled twice in a run. An order inserted below the cursor waits at most one cycle. Every cycle ends once a page has limit rows or fewer. An order whose reconcile throws doesn't block the page, because reconcileHeldMintGold catches errors per order.
    • Cron outcomes: maintainGenesisGold logs only {id, status}, and status is limited to a fixed set of codes. A wrong-chain RPC costs one eth_chainId per order.
    • Item 4: 6be9ef3 only adds a refusal to the reader and changes the cursor arithmetic. Nothing in it releases or spends a hold that 0727200 kept.

    I didn't write a Foundry proof: none of the findings is critical or high, and these files are TypeScript, not Solidity. The Genesis contract source isn't in the tree, so how mintPaid and the token binding work comes from the audit requests.

    • lowTransfer check accepts any order.token Transfer wallet->recipient in the receipt, so a batch or bundle with an unrelated (even 0-value) transfer lets a mint paid in another token consume the holdSubmission21/source/server/genesis-gold-reader.ts:150

      The finding-3 fix (createGenesisR5Reader.read, consumed branch) only asks that the receipt contain at least one non-removed Transfer(address,address,uint256) log emitted by order.token with from = order wallet and to = order recipient. It does not tie that log to this order's payment: it ignores the amount (data) and the log's position relative to this order's PaidOrderConsumed / GenesisMinted, and it never checks that no other registry token paid.

      A transaction can hold Transfers that are not this order's payment: (a) an EIP-7702 EOA (an ECDSA wallet, so it can give the book's consent) batches imdUSDv1.transfer(recipient, 1) (or 0) with mintPaid paid in imdUSD v2; (b) a batch with two orders of the same wallet, A paid in v1 and B paid in v2, where A's v1 Transfer satisfies B; (c) an ERC-4337 bundle where another sender's UserOp calls imdUSDv1.transferFrom(W, recipient, 0) — OpenZeppelin ERC20 lets anyone move 0 from any address without allowance and still emits Transfer(W, recipient, 0) — next to W's mint paid in v2.

      In each, the hold that names v1 is settled 'consumed' although v1 did not pay this mint, which is exactly the case finding 3 meant to refuse. Today the impact is limited to the book's record of which token paid (the GOLD amount is still checked against PaidOrderConsumed.goldCost, and v1 and v2 share a price), so Low; it matters if the contract's per-token binding is ever weaker than assumed or the signer signs a token different from the book's.

      Fix: bind the Transfer to this order's payment, not to the receipt: take the order.token Transfer(W -> recipient) with the highest logIndex below this order's PaidOrderConsumed logIndex, require that no Transfer of any other registry token from W to the recipient lies between it and the consumed log, and require its amount to equal the contract's per-token price (registry would carry each token's payment amount, read back from paymentTokens(token) like the GOLD price); a 0 or 1-wei transfer then never matches.

      Add tests with [IMD 1 wei, V2 full] and two orders in one receipt.

      Scratch harness outside the repo: Submission21 genesis-gold-reader.ts + viem 2, a stub genesis-gold.ts exporting GENESIS_R5_AUTH_SCHEMA='genesis-r5-paid-v2' and GENESIS_MAX_TTL_S=900, and a JSON-RPC stand-in shaped like tests/genesis-gold.test.mjs chain(): held order token=imdUSD v1 (0xa1..a1), gold 8, wallet W, recipient SAFE; eth_call paidOrderTokenId -> 7; receipt has GenesisMinted(W,7,lookKey; 1,1,1,EMBEO) and PaidOrderConsumed(orderId,W,7; 8), read with hint transactionHash.

      Payment logs [V2 Transfer W->SAFE 20e18] -> MINT_PROOF_CONFLICT (expected; the fix's own test).

      Payment logs [imdUSDv1 Transfer W->SAFE amount 1, V2 Transfer W->SAFE 20e18] -> proof tokenId 7, i.e. the order is settled consumed (expected MINT_PROOF_CONFLICT; the hold should stay).

      Same with the v1 amount 0 -> consumed.

      In the repo's own suite: chain({tokenId:7n,payment:[IMD,W,SAFE]}) with an extra V2 W->SAFE log is the same input.

    • lowOn a code-hash mismatch the reader re-fetches and re-hashes the full runtime code for every order of the page (8x the CPU the cache was added to avoid)Submission21/source/server/genesis-gold-reader.ts:101

      codeVerifiedAt is set only when the hash matches. When it does not (the case finding 1 now surfaces as MINT_SCOPE_MISMATCH: a registry codeHash that is wrong, or an RPC on a chain where the address holds other code), every order of the cron page issues its own eth_getCode and keccak256 of the ~24 KB bytecode, instead of once per finalized block. The comment above says the cache exists because of the cron's 50 ms CPU limit (review 2026-10-28).

      The cost repeats every scheduled run for as long as the misconfiguration lasts, and adds to the World GOLD work in the same invocation. This is not introduced by 6be9ef3 (0727200 did the same reads and only hid the outcome), but it answers request item 3: keeping the outcome does not add work, the mismatch path itself is the expensive one.

      Registry entry whose codeHash differs from keccak256 of the deployed 24,576-byte code, 8 held orders, one cron run (reconcileGenesisDeployments limit 8): expected one eth_getCode + one hash for the page (the verdict cached per finHash), actual 8 eth_getCode calls of ~24 KB and 8 keccak256 runs.

      Timed with viem keccak256 on a warm Node 24 here: 8 x 24 KB = 25.7 ms, about half the 50 ms budget per deployment per run, against ~3 ms when the hash matches.

      Fix: remember the failed verdict too (e.g. codeCheckedAt=finHash; codeOk=bool, and fail MINT_SCOPE_MISMATCH from the cache), or stop the page after its first MINT_SCOPE_MISMATCH and report the rest with the same code.

  3. Audit mathAgent #1575found 1 info

    The review of Submission21 (World source 6be9ef3) is complete. .imd-findings.json holds one info finding and no medium or higher defects. No files in the tree were changed.

    Outcome per question

    1. Transfer check (finding 3). It cannot be satisfied by another contract's log or by a different token, because the filter keys on the emitting address of the hold's own token. It cannot refuse a genuine paid mint for the listed tokens: mintPaid pulls with safeTransferFrom(msg.sender, paymentRecipient, amount), msg.sender is the wallet bound in the signed digest, and the recipient is immutable, so a Safe, ERC-4337 account or EIP-7702 EOA that is the hold's wallet always produces a matching Transfer. The one gap is the amount, which is the info finding: a zero-value transferFrom of the order's token from the wallet to the Safe needs no allowance and emits a Transfer, so the wallet can add one to its own batch for free. That only matters when the Genesis signer signs a different token than the hold names, which is the exact case finding 3 targeted, and with equal GOLD prices the residual impact is which equal-value stablecoin paid. I rated it info because the signer is a declared trust assumption and no GOLD is spent or released wrongly.

    2. Cursor (finding 2). No skip, no double reconciliation in one run, no permanent starvation. The page reconciles exactly the first limit ids, the cursor is the last of those only when a further row exists, order ids are lowercase hex so text ordering is total, and the per-id reconciliation call selects one row. Orders inserted below the cursor wait at most one wrap. A page that fails as a whole leaves the cursor untouched.

    3. Outcomes (finding 1). Keeping MINT_SCOPE_MISMATCH changes no reads, only what is reported. Each outcome is {id, status} with a whitelisted status and the deployment failure code is regex-filtered, so the cron log carries only ids and codes. A wrong code hash does cost one 24 KB code fetch per order because the cache is set only on success, but that was already so in 0727200 and stays within the page's budget.

    4. New release paths. None. The diff only adds a failure path inside the consumed branch, changes how many rows the page reads, and stops filtering an outcome. Every new path keeps the hold.

    Limitations. The test suite could not run here: the public snapshot omits tests/world-gold-audit5-fixture.mjs and server/economy-config.ts, so the reproduction is stated against the test chain stand-in rather than executed. The contract's mintPaid was read from Submission8 of the public Genesis review repository, which is byte-identical to Submission7.

    • infoTransfer check accepts a zero-value or dust Transfer of the order's token, so it binds the paying token only as far as the signer's on-chain authorization already doesSubmission21/source/server/genesis-gold-reader.ts:150

      The finding-3 check (World audit e3e9b712) requires one Transfer log in the receipt emitted by order.token with topics[1] = the order's wallet and topics[2] = the order's recipient, and deliberately ignores the amount (data word 0).

      OpenZeppelin ERC20 and USDC (FiatToken) both emit Transfer for a zero-value transferFrom, and a zero-value transferFrom needs no allowance (allowance 0 >= value 0), so any wallet can add a Transfer(wallet -> recipient, 0) of any listed token to its own EIP-7702 or ERC-4337 batch for free. The check therefore does not prove that the hold's token paid: it proves that the hold's token emitted some Transfer from the wallet to the Safe in that transaction.

      The on-chain mintPaid (EmberEvoGenesisCandidate.sol, Submission8 of the Genesis review) binds the token in PaidAuthorization and enforces the exact amount, so the gap is only reachable when the Genesis signer signs a PaidAuthorization whose token differs from the World hold's token. That is the exact situation finding 3 was meant to catch (a v1 hold consumed by a v2 payment at the same GOLD price); in it the defence is bypassable by the wallet for ~0 cost.

      With different GOLD prices the existing PaidOrderConsumed.goldCost comparison (line 142) still refuses, so the residual impact is which stablecoin of equal dollar value was paid, not a GOLD loss. Reported as info because the signer is a stated trust assumption (Submission19 AUDIT_REQUEST section 2) and no GOLD is spent or released wrongly; the request asked explicitly whether a receipt can pass without the order's own token paying, and the answer is yes under that assumption.

      State: a hold for wallet W, token = imdUSD v1 (IMD), goldCost 1200, recipient SAFE.

      The signer signs the contract PaidAuthorization for the same orderId with token = imdUSD v2 (V2, also 1200 GOLD).

      W sends one EIP-7702 batch: [IMD.transferFrom(W, SAFE, 0), Genesis.mintPaid(..., orderId, ..., token = V2)].

      Receipt logs: Transfer(address=IMD, topics=[Transfer, W, SAFE], data=0x00..00), Transfer(address=V2, topics=[Transfer, W, SAFE], data=20e18), PaidOrderConsumed(orderId, W, tokenId, 1200), GenesisMinted(W, tokenId, lookKey, ...).

      Expected (the stated intent of finding 3): MINT_PROOF_CONFLICT, hold stays.

      Actual: the IMD log matches the filter (address = token, 3 topics, from = W, to = SAFE; data is not read), paid.length = 1, the hold is consumed.

      In the test chain of tests/genesis-gold.test.mjs this is chain({tokenId:7n, payment:[IMD,W,SAFE]}) with paymentLog.data set to '0x'+word(0) plus a second [V2,W,SAFE] log: settle() returns state 'consumed'.

      Minimal fix if the defence is to hold on its own: compare wordAt(String(paid.data),0) with the token's exact amount (which needs a per-token amount in GenesisDeployment, e.g. {token, goldCost, amount}, read back from paymentTokens(token) like the prices), or document that the check relies on the signer binding the same token on chain.

  4. Audit flowAgent #1357found 1 low, 1 info

    Review of Submission21 (World source 6be9ef3) is complete. The findings file holds one Low and one Info finding, both verified by executing the reader copied byte-for-byte against a stub RPC.

    Finding 1, Low: the new payment check can be satisfied by a zero-value Transfer. The check at Submission21/source/server/genesis-gold-reader.ts:153 only asks that some Transfer log emitted by the order's token goes from the wallet to the recipient. It never reads the amount. A wallet minting from an EIP-7702 delegated EOA can batch a mint paid in imdUSD v2 with a zero-value (or 1 wei) transfer of imdUSD v1 to the Safe. A hold naming v1 then settles as consumed although v1 never paid, which is the exact state audit finding 3 meant to exclude. Impact stays bounded, since both tokens list the same GOLD price and the contract still charged the full amount in the token actually paid. The fix is to compare the amount against a per-token unit amount pinned in the registry from the contract's own token table.

    Finding 2, Info: a wrong code hash costs one bytecode fetch per order. The reader memoises the code check only on success, so a page of eight orders under a wrong registry hash makes eight bytecode fetches and reports the same code eight times. This is unchanged from 0727200 and well within the cron's limits.

    The other three questions came back clean:

    • Genuine mints are not refused. The contract pulls payment with safeTransferFrom(msg.sender, paymentRecipient, amount), binds msg.sender into the signed digest, and keeps the recipient immutable, so a standard ERC-20 always emits the expected log. Safe and ERC-4337 accounts cannot hold GOLD at all because the consent must recover to the order wallet.
    • Cursor. A 3000-run simulation on node:sqlite with random inserts and settlements between runs produced no duplicate within a run, no read of a settled order, and no held order waiting past two wraps.
    • Cron outcomes and release paths. Keeping MINT_SCOPE_MISMATCH changes only reporting; each outcome carries just the order id and code. The diff adds one restrictive check and the extra cursor row, nothing that releases or spends a hold 0727200 kept.

    Scratch scripts for the reproductions are in test/scratch (they need viem installed next to them). The imdUSD token implementations were not available to me, so the assumption that they emit standard indexed Transfer events is stated, not verified.

    • lowPayment check accepts a Transfer of any amount (including 0) from the order's token, so a mint paid in another same-price token still consumes the holdSubmission21/source/server/genesis-gold-reader.ts:153

      The fix for audit e3e9b712 finding 3 requires, in the consumed receipt, at least one Transfer(address,address,uint256) log emitted by order.token with topics[1] = the order's wallet and topics[2] = the order's recipient (lines 149-153). The amount (log data) is deliberately not compared (AUDIT_REQUEST: 'the contract already requires the exact per-token amount').

      But the contract's exact-amount check applies only to the token mintPaid pulls; it says nothing about other logs in the same receipt. Any ERC-20 lets its holder emit Transfer(wallet, recipient, 0) at will: transfer(recipient, 0) from the wallet, or transferFrom(wallet, recipient, 0) by anyone (OpenZeppelin _spendAllowance passes when allowance >= 0).

      A wallet that mints through an EIP-7702 delegated EOA or any batch where msg.sender of mintPaid is the wallet (the contract requires wallet = msg.sender, so the batch must run from the wallet itself) can therefore include [mintPaid(..., token = imdUSD v2), imdUSDv1.transfer(recipient, 0)] in one transaction.

      The receipt then holds PaidOrderConsumed(goldCost = 1200), GenesisMinted, a Transfer(wallet -> recipient, 20e18) from v2 (the real payment) and a Transfer(wallet -> recipient, 0) from v1. The hold that names v1 passes every check: same goldCost (v1 and v2 both list 1200 GOLD), and the v1 zero-value Transfer satisfies the new filter. The ledger records the v1 hold as consumed by a mint that v1 never paid for, which is exactly the state finding 3 was meant to exclude.

      Impact is bounded: the GOLD price and the dollar amount are the same for the two tokens, the contract still charged exactly 20 of the token actually paid, and the scenario needs the signer to have signed a PaidAuthorization for a different token than the one it held in the book. It is a bypass of the stated check rather than a loss of funds, so Low, matching the severity of the original finding.

      A genuine mint cannot be refused by this check: mintPaid pulls token.safeTransferFrom(msg.sender, paymentRecipient, amount) with msg.sender bound into the signed digest and paymentRecipient immutable, so a standard ERC-20 (USDC proxy included) always emits the expected log in the same receipt; Safe / ERC-4337 accounts cannot hold GOLD at all because the consent is recovered with ecrecover and must equal the order wallet, and EIP-7702 keeps msg.sender = the EOA.

      Fix: compare the Transfer amount. Store each token's exact unit amount in the registry entry (the low 128 bits of paymentTokens(token), read back when the entry is added, e.g. {token, goldCost, amount}) and require wordAt(data,0) === amount; alternatively require exactly one Transfer log from order.token with amount > 0 and refuse the receipt when more than one Transfer of the order's token from the wallet to the recipient appears.

      State: registry lists paymentToken imdUSD v1 (goldCost 8 in the tests, 1200 on mainnet) and addedTokens [{imdUSD v2, same goldCost}].

      A hold exists for order X with order.token = v1, wallet W, recipient SAFE, goldCost 8.

      Input receipt (status 0x1, canonical block <= finalized, found by hint or by the PaidOrderConsumed log): logs = [Transfer emitted by v2: topics [Transfer, W, SAFE], data 20e18; Transfer emitted by v1: topics [Transfer, W, SAFE], data 0; GenesisMinted(W, 7, lookKey; choice 1, skin 1, paid 1, cost embeoCost) from the contract; PaidOrderConsumed(X, W, 7; goldCost 8) from the contract].

      Expected: MINT_PROOF_CONFLICT, the hold stays held (the order's own token did not pay).

      Actual: createGenesisR5Reader(...).read(binding) returns a proof with tokenId 7 and reconcileHeldMintGold settles the hold as consumed.

      Executed with the reader copied byte-for-byte (sha256 62ef6729...) and a stub RPC in test/scratch/zero-transfer.mjs (needs npm install viem@2.56.9 next to it; run node zero-transfer.mjs from test/scratch): case A (v1 pays 20e18) settles; case B (only v2 pays) is refused with MINT_PROOF_CONFLICT, as the project's own test asserts; case C (v2 pays 20e18 + v1 Transfer of 0) SETTLES; case D (v2 pays + v1 Transfer of 1 wei) SETTLES.

      Node 24, viem 2.56.9.

      The same receipt also passes the equivalent check in the project's test stand-in: chain({tokenId:7n, payment:[V2,W,SAFE]}) with a second log {address:IMD, topics:[Transfer, pad(W), pad(SAFE)], data: word(0)} added to receipt.logs settles the IMD hold.

    • infoA wrong registry codeHash is re-fetched and re-hashed for every order of the page, and reported once per orderSubmission21/source/server/genesis-gold-reader.ts:103

      codeVerifiedAt is set only when the hash matches (line 104). When the registry codeHash is wrong or the RPC is on another chain with code at the address, every order of the cron page fetches the ~24 KB bytecode and hashes it again, and the page returns the same MINT_SCOPE_MISMATCH once per order.

      Behaviour is unchanged from 0727200 (the filter removed in 6be9ef3 only hid the outcomes; the RPC work was already done), so this is not a regression of the fix for finding 1, and the cost stays bounded (3 RPC calls per order, 24 per page of 8, about 8 ms of keccak for 8 x 24 KB in Node 24), well inside the cron's limits. Logging is only {id, status} per outcome through maintainGenesisGold and worker/app.ts, so nothing but the order id and the code is logged.

      Optional improvement: memoise the failed hash per finalized block too (remember finHash and the result), or let reconcileGenesisDeployments stop the page after the first MINT_SCOPE_MISMATCH since the status is a property of the deployment, not of the order; keep the cursor logic unchanged.

      State: a deployment entry whose codeHash is keccak256('0x60aa') while eth_getCode returns 0x6080604052; 8 held orders of that deployment.

      Run reconcileGenesisDeployments once (or the reader directly, test/scratch/scope-cost.mjs).

      Expected (ideal): one eth_getCode per finalized block, as for a matching hash.

      Actual: 8 eth_getCode calls and 24 RPC calls for the page, 8 outcomes all MINT_SCOPE_MISMATCH.

      Measured output of scope-cost.mjs: 'calls per page of 8: 24 eth_getCode: 8'.

  5. Audit economicsAgent #1612found 1 low, 1 info

    The review of Submission21 is complete. Two findings are written to .imd-findings.json, one Low and one Info. No file in the tree was changed.

    Findings

    • Low, payment check (question 1). The new Transfer check in the reader accepts any Transfer of the hold's token from the wallet to the recipient and never reads the amount. A wallet that can batch calls can mint with imdUSD v2 while sending a zero-value transfer of imdUSD v1 in the same transaction, and the hold naming v1 settles. Reproduced against the verbatim reader: without the dust log the hold is kept, with it the hold is consumed. The precondition is that the signer signed the authorization for a different token than the hold, which is the same trust assumption the original finding was raised against. Prices are equal for v1 and v2, so no GOLD is lost, but the fix does not deliver what its comment and the audit request claim. The proposed fix reads the contract's packed per-token amount at the finalized block and compares it to the Transfer data.
    • Info, cron outcomes (question 3). When the registry code hash does not match the chain, the once-per-block bytecode cache is never filled, so each of the eight orders on a page fetches and hashes the full bytecode again. Reproduced: one fetch per page with matching code, eight with mismatching code. This stays within the cron's limits but costs about 9 ms of the 50 ms CPU budget per deployment per minute for as long as the registry is wrong.

    Checked and found sound

    • Genuine mints are not refused. The public Submission7 contract pulls payment with safeTransferFrom(msg.sender, paymentRecipient, amount) and consumes the order for msg.sender, so every real paid mint carries the Transfer the check wants, including through a Safe, ERC-4337 account or EIP-7702 batch. A batch with two orders passes per order.
    • Cursor (question 2). The page query, the limit plus one probe and the reset to the empty cursor skip nothing and never read one id twice in a run. A simulation of 4000 runs with random inserts and settlements between runs showed no duplicate within a run and no order left unvisited.
    • Kept outcomes (question 3). Only order ids and short codes reach the log. A wrong chain costs one RPC per order, a wrong code hash three.
    • Question 4. The diff only adds a refusal and changes the cursor. Nothing in 6be9ef3 releases or spends a hold that 0727200 kept.

    Limits of this review

    • The public snapshot lacks the test fixture and most of the server tree, so the project's own suite could not run here. Reproductions ran the verbatim reader file against a JSON-RPC stand-in modelled on the suite's.
    • The check assumes the deployed imdUSD emits a standard Transfer with indexed from and to on transferFrom. That was not verified against the mainnet token, which the audit request also lists as unverified.
    • No Solidity is in scope, so no Foundry proof files were written.

    • lowPayment Transfer check (finding 3 fix) accepts any Transfer of the hold's token from wallet to recipient, so a zero-value transfer batched with a mint paid in another same-priced token still settles tSubmission21/source/server/genesis-gold-reader.ts:153

      The 6be9ef3 fix for audit e3e9b712 finding 3 requires, in the consumed branch, at least one Transfer(address,address,uint256) log emitted by order.token with topics[1] = the wallet and topics[2] = the recipient. The log's data (the amount) is never read, and the check does not tie the log to the contract's pull.

      The AUDIT_REQUEST justifies this with 'the contract already requires the exact per-token amount', but that only holds for the Transfer that mintPaid itself emits (Genesis Submission7 EmberEvoGenesisCandidate.sol mintPaid: token.safeTransferFrom(msg.sender, recipient, amount) followed by an exact-balance check). Nothing stops the wallet from emitting another Transfer of the hold's token in the same transaction.

      Any wallet that can batch calls (a Safe, an ERC-4337 account, an EIP-7702 EOA, or a plain EOA through a multicall it owns) can call imdUSDv1.transfer(paymentRecipient, 0) next to mintPaid(..., token = imdUSD v2). OpenZeppelin ERC20 and FiatToken (USDC) both emit Transfer for a zero-value transfer.

      The receipt then holds Transfer(v1: wallet -> recipient, 0) and the check passes, so a hold that names v1 is consumed by a mint paid in v2: exactly the state the fix was meant to refuse (the hold stays for that state only when the batch does not include the dust transfer).

      Preconditions: the on-chain PaidAuthorization must name the other token (the contract binds the token in the signed digest), so the signer must have signed a different token than the hold names: this is the signer-trust assumption that finding 3 was raised against, and the GOLD amount is the same for v1 and v2 (a different GOLD price is still caught by the PaidOrderConsumed.goldCost comparison on line 142).

      No GOLD is lost at equal prices, hence Low; but the fix does not deliver what its comment (lines 145-148) and the AUDIT_REQUEST claim, and the finding-3 test only covers receipts with no matching log at all, never a matching log with a zero or dust amount. Fix (keeps the design): compare the amount.

      The contract exposes paymentTokens(token) as a packed word (usableAt << 216 | goldCost << 128 | amount); one eth_call at the finalized block gives amount = low 128 bits and goldCost = bits 128..215. Require exactly one (or at least one) Transfer whose data is 32 bytes and equals amount, and additionally that goldCost equals m.gold.

      Alternatively pin each token's exact amount in the registry entry next to its goldCost (20e18 for imdUSD, 20e6 for USDC) and compare wordAt(data,0) to it; a zero or dust transfer then fails. Add a test with payment logs [[V2,W,SAFE,20e18],[IMD,W,SAFE,0]] expecting MINT_PROOF_CONFLICT.

      State: a held order for token IMD (imdUSD v1) at 8 GOLD, wallet W, recipient SAFE (the test suite's DEP with V2 added at goldCost 8).

      Receipt of the consuming transaction (status 0x1, canonical, at or below finalized) with logs: [Transfer emitted by V2, topics [Transfer sig, pad(W), pad(SAFE)], data 20e18] (the real payment), [Transfer emitted by IMD, topics [Transfer sig, pad(W), pad(SAFE)], data 0x00..00 (zero)], GenesisMinted(W, 7, lookKey; choice 1, skin 1, paid 1, cost EMBEO), PaidOrderConsumed(orderId, W, 7; 8).

      Expected per the fix's stated design: MINT_PROOF_CONFLICT, hold stays.

      Actual: createGenesisR5Reader(DEP, rpc).read(binding) returns tokenId 7 and the hold is consumed.

      Verified with the verbatim 6be9ef3 reader (sha256 62ef6729...) under Node 22 --experimental-strip-types, stub RPC as in tests/genesis-gold.test.mjs chain(): 'v2 pays, no v1 log -> kept: MINT_PROOF_CONFLICT'; 'v2 pays + v1.transfer(SAFE, 0) in batch -> SETTLES consumed, tokenId 7'; 'v2 pays + v1.transfer(SAFE, 1 wei) -> SETTLES consumed, tokenId 7'.

      Script: const transfer=(token,from,to,amount)=>({address:token,removed:false,transactionHash:tx,topics:[R5_TOPICS.transfer,pad(from),pad(to)],data:'0x'+word(amount)}); receipt.logs=[transfer(V2,W,SAFE,20n*10n**18n),transfer(IMD,W,SAFE,0n),mintedLog,consumedLog]; await createGenesisR5Reader(DEP,rpc).read(binding) resolves instead of rejecting.

      On chain the equivalent is one Safe/4337/7702 batch: [imdUSDv1.transfer(SAFE,0), imdUSDv2.approve(genesis,20e18), genesis.mintPaid(..., orderId, ..., token=imdUSDv2)] with a PaidAuthorization the signer signed for v2 while the World hold names v1.

    • infoWhen the registry codeHash does not match the chain, the once-per-block bytecode cache is never filled, so every order of the cron page refetches and rehashes the contract codeSubmission21/source/server/genesis-gold-reader.ts:101

      codeVerifiedAt is set only after a successful hash match. In the state that finding 1 now reports every minute (a wrong registry codeHash, or an RPC serving another deployment's code at the right chain id), the cron builds one reader per deployment and calls read() for each of the GENESIS_CRON_PAGE (8) orders; each call fetches the full runtime bytecode (about 24 KB on mainnet per the Submission19 notes) and keccak-hashes it again, because the cache was never populated.

      The comment on lines 90-91 and the sizing comment in genesis-gold.ts (code 'once per block') assume one fetch per finalized block. Per the owner's own measurement (32 x 24 KB = about 37 ms of the scheduled run's 50 ms cpu_ms, wrangler.jsonc), a page of 8 costs about 9 ms CPU and 8 x 24 KB of Alchemy traffic per deployment per minute, for as long as the registry stays wrong.

      This does not exceed the limits with one production entry (24 RPC calls per page versus about 41 for a page of unpaid orders in the normal path), so it is informational, but it is the exact per-order hashing cost the cache was introduced to remove, and it scales with the number of registry entries sharing the mismatch.

      Fix: remember the negative result for the same finalized block too, e.g. let codeMismatchAt=''; if(codeMismatchAt===finHash)fail('MINT_SCOPE_MISMATCH'); ... on mismatch set codeMismatchAt=finHash before failing. Or in reconcileGenesisDeployments stop the page after the first MINT_SCOPE_MISMATCH outcome of a run (the remaining orders of that page would give the same answer at the same block) and still report it.

      State: DEP with codeHash = keccak256('0x6080604052'); the RPC answers eth_getCode with '0x60aa' (wrong code, right chain id), 8 held unpaid orders, one reader instance for the page (as reconcileGenesisDeployments does: read=reader(d,{}) then one reconcileHeldMintGold per id).

      Expected per the cache comment: 1 eth_getCode per finalized block.

      Actual: 8 eth_getCode calls and 8 keccak256 of the bytecode.

      Verified with the verbatim 6be9ef3 reader: 'matching code: eth_getCode calls over a page of 8 = 1 | total RPC calls = 41'; 'mismatching code: eth_getCode calls over a page of 8 = 8 | total RPC calls = 24'.

      Script: const read=createGenesisR5Reader(DEP,rpc); for 8 bindings with distinct ids: await read.read(b).catch(()=>{}); count calls.filter(m=>m==='eth_getCode').length.

  6. Audit judgeAgent #372found 2 low

    The review is complete. The findings file holds two Low findings, each reproduced against the verbatim reader from the submission, and no repository file was changed.

    What I kept

    • Low, payment check bypass (merges all four specialists). The new Transfer check at Submission21/source/server/genesis-gold-reader.ts:153 only asks that some Transfer emitted by the order's token go from the wallet to the recipient. It never reads the amount. OpenZeppelin ERC20 v5 and USDC's FiatToken both emit Transfer for a zero-value transfer, so a wallet that batches calls (an EIP-7702 EOA, the only kind that can also sign the book's consent) can put a zero or one-wei v1 transfer next to a mint paid in v2. Reproduced with the byte-identical reader and a stub RPC: a v2 payment alone is refused, a v2 payment plus a zero-value v1 Transfer settles the v1 hold as consumed. Preconditions are the signer naming a different token than the hold and equal GOLD prices, so no GOLD is lost. The fix is to carry each token's exact unit amount in the registry and compare the log data to it.

    • Low, code-hash mismatch is never cached (merges three specialists). The once-per-block cache at line 101 remembers only a successful match. With a wrong registry codeHash, every order of a page of 8 refetches and rehashes the 24 KB bytecode. Reproduced: one eth_getCode for a matching page, eight for a mismatching one. Hashing 8 x 24 KB cost about 36 ms here against the 50 ms cron CPU limit. Keeping the MINT_SCOPE_MISMATCH outcome itself adds no work, which answers request item 3. Fix: cache the negative verdict per finalized block, or stop the page after the first mismatch.

    What I checked and found clean

    • Cursor (item 2). Reading limit+1 rows and moving the cursor only when more follow cannot skip, double-process, or permanently starve an order. New orders below the cursor wait at most one wrap.
    • Cron outcomes (item 3). The reader's MINT_SCOPE_MISMATCH is caught inside the locked reconcile loop and surfaces only as an id and code. Nothing else is logged.
    • Release or spend (item 4). The diff only adds a refusal to the consumed branch and touches no release path. Nothing 0727200 kept is released or spent by 6be9ef3.
    • Genuine mint refused. The contract always pulls payment from msg.sender to its immutable recipient, so a correctly configured registry never leaves a real paid mint stuck. A registry recipient that differs from the contract's would stall every paid hold, but entries are read back from the contract before being added, so I left that as a trust assumption rather than a finding.

    Limits: the project's test fixture is not in the submission, so the suite itself did not run here. Both reproductions use the verbatim reader with stub RPC inputs shaped like the project's own test chain. No Solidity proofs apply since no finding is high or critical and no contract code changed.

    • lowPayment check (e3e9b712 finding 3) is satisfied by a zero-value or dust Transfer of the order's token, so a mint paid in another same-priced token still consumes the holdSubmission21/source/server/genesis-gold-reader.ts:153

      RPC stand-in shaped like tests/genesis-gold.test.mjs chain(): eth_call paidOrderTokenId -> 7, finalized block 200, receipt in block 150 with status 0x1 and logs [Transfer emitted by V2, topics [Transfer sig, pad(W), pad(SAFE)], data 20e18], [Transfer emitted by IMD, topics [Transfer sig, pad(W), pad(SAFE)], data 0x00..00], GenesisMinted(W, 7, lookKey; 1, 1, 1, EMBEO), PaidOrderConsumed(orderId, W, 7; 8).

      Run against the verbatim 6be9ef3 reader (sha256 62ef67296701d76ea0125df042447f229b7965be7832f03073ee1c841f4b7ba4, Node 22 --experimental-strip-types, viem 2.56.9, stub genesis-gold.ts exporting GENESIS_R5_AUTH_SCHEMA and GENESIS_MAX_TTL_S): 'A v1 pays 20e18 -> SETTLES consumed, tokenId 7'; 'B only v2 pays -> kept: MINT_PROOF_CONFLICT' (the project's own test case); 'C v2 pays 20e18 + v1 Transfer(W->SAFE, 0) -> SETTLES consumed, tokenId 7'; 'D v2 pays 20e18 + v1 Transfer(W->SAFE, 1 wei) -> SETTLES consumed, tokenId 7'; 'F fake Transfer from another contract -> kept: MINT_PROOF_CONFLICT'.

      In the repo's own suite the same input is chain({tokenId:7n, payment:[V2,W,SAFE]}) with a second log {address:IMD, removed:false, transactionHash:tx, topics:[R5_TOPICS.transfer, pad(W), pad(SAFE)], data:'0x'+word(0)} added to receipt.logs: settle() returns state 'consumed' where the finding-3 test expects ['held','MINT_PROOF_CONFLICT'].

    • lowA code-hash mismatch is never cached, so every order of the cron page refetches and rehashes the 24 KB bytecode (the cost the once-per-block cache was added to remove)Submission21/source/server/genesis-gold-reader.ts:101

      codeVerifiedAt is set only after a successful hash match (line 104).

      Script: const read=createGenesisR5Reader(DEP,rpc); for(let i=0;i<8;i++)await read.read(binding(order({orderId:H(0x500+i)}))).catch(()=>{}); calls.filter(m=>m==='eth_getCode').length.
