Continue the existing original static JavaScript game at https://wheelhaven.imd.site/.

Source: https://github.com/ibeieve1212/wheelhaven at commit 425e90979de41f4ee860e21c7b66ecefcf7f7062. Fix the advisory finding in dist/app.mjs: each tab loads pantry state once, then feed refresh and pagehide write stale state to the shared wheelhaven.v2.live localStorage key.

Reproduction: open tabs A and B before any move; plant broccoli in A (7 dew and one broccoli); let idle B refresh or close; a new tab C must retain A's broccoli and 7 dew instead of reverting to empty plots and 12 dew. Implement robust synchronization so stale tabs cannot replace newer progress; adopt validated current state before gameplay actions, and propagate reset/import correctly. Preserve telemetry anchoring so the same wheel passages cannot grow crops twice.

Add meaningful regression coverage for two tabs, feed refresh, pagehide and reset/import, and run the existing 15 engine tests. Preserve the current Chinese/English interface, single real-wheel planting experience, original SVG art, gameplay, Squeekchain APIs, plain JavaScript modules, MIT license and FLau1212 attribution. Update the downloadable source archive to match the final code.

Required delivery: publish the complete updated code to a public GitHub repository, then publish the updated dist/ under the existing wheelhaven.imd.site address. This is a code implementation and delivery job, with the existing site design preserved.

Saved 4 high findings in .imd-findings.json:

    • bug: Overlapping tab commits can erase a successful action while assigning a higher revision.
    • bug: Reset/import can reuse a stale tab’s telemetry anchor, counting previous passages again.
    • bug: Repeated failed writes inflate revisions, allowing pagehide to undo another tab’s reset.
    • fidelity: The downloadable ZIP contains the old application and omits synchronization code and tests.

    • highbug: overlapping tab commits overwrite newer progress under a higher revisiondist/store.mjs:32

Now: commit() reads the shared pantry, mutates its private copy, then write() rereads only the stored revision. If another tab writes between those steps, write() attaches a higher revision to the stale garden and overwrites the newer action. All supplied multi-tab tests execute commits serially.

Change to: Serialize the complete read-validate-mutate-write operation across tabs (including feed updates, replace and failed-write retries), and re-read the current state inside that serialization. Add a regression that forces another tab to commit after the initial read and before the pending write.

Why: The brief requires robust synchronization so stale tabs cannot replace newer progress. A revision counter by itself does not make localStorage read/modify/write atomic.

At 390px or any width, open A/B with shared storage.

      A plants broccoli at plot 4 (dew=7,rev=1).

Let B adopt rev=1 and plant carrot at plot 3, then pause immediately before write() at store.mjs:70.

In A plant carrot at unlocked plot 1 (dew=5,rev=2).

Resume B: write() reads rev=2 but does not adopt its garden; final rev=3 has dew=5 and crops only at 3/4, deleting A’s acknowledged carrot at 1.

Expected dew=3 and all three crops.

      Deterministic verified Node reproduction with actual modules and Map-backed shared storage: A.commit(g=>plantSeed(g,4,"broccoli")); B.commit(g=>{const r=plantSeed(g,3,"carrot"); A.commit(s=>plantSeed(s,1,"carrot")); return r;}); parse stored wheelhaven.v2.live: plots[1].plant===null, dew===5, rev===3.

The nested call forces the same cross-tab interleaving without relying on scheduler timing.

    • highfidelity: downloadable source archive still contains the unsynchronized applicationdist/app.mjs:249

Now: The About dialog downloads dist/wheelhaven-source.zip, whose app.mjs differs from the final application and whose contents omit dist/store.mjs, test/sync.test.mjs and test/browser-sync.mjs. DESIGN.md, index.html and styles.css also differ.

Change to: Rebuild the downloadable archive from the final source tree, including store.mjs, both synchronization test files and the referenced share image, then compare every archived source file against the tree.

Why: The brief explicitly requires “Update the downloadable source archive to match the final code”; visitors currently receive the original stale-tab implementation instead of the delivered fix.

At 390px or any width, open About the project and Download complete source.

Independently run Python zipfile.ZipFile("dist/wheelhaven-source.zip").namelist(): wheelhaven/dist/store.mjs, wheelhaven/test/sync.test.mjs and wheelhaven/test/browser-sync.mjs are absent.

Compare z.read("wheelhaven/dist/app.mjs") with Path("dist/app.mjs").read_bytes(): they differ.

The archive also omits dist/og-image.png referenced by the final index.html.

Expected: downloadable final code and tests; actual: older implementation without the synchronization layer.

    • highbug: reset and import rewind the shared telemetry anchor to a stale tab sampledist/app.mjs:327

Now: Reset/import build a new anchor from the initiating tab’s sample before store.replace() synchronizes. Storage events update the pantry but never update that tab-local sample, so a tab whose valid sample is behind another tab can replace the latest shared anchor with an older one.

Change to: Select the newest validated shared telemetry anchor and fresh sample when replacing a pantry, without rewinding the anchor for an older local sample; otherwise reanchor on a newly fetched sample without awarding historical work. Cover different feed ages across tabs for both import and reset.

Why: The brief requires reset/import propagation while preserving telemetry anchoring so the same wheel passages cannot grow crops twice.

      At 390px (width-independent), let A and B receive same-epoch work=100 at t0; plant broccoli in A.

      Refresh A at work=105,t1, so broccoli.grown=5 and shared anchor=105.

      Leave B’s sample=100,t0 (still fresh).

Export A’s pantry and import it in B without a new B feed response.

The import-confirm handler clears anchor then applies B’s old 100 sample before replace.

Refresh A with the identical 105,t1 sample: actual broccoli.grown=10; expected 5 because no new passages occurred.

This was reproduced using the actual createPantryStore, plantSeed and applyTelemetry modules with shared Map-backed storage and the exact import-confirm sequence.

A reset in B similarly writes anchor=100 instead of 105; plant a new crop and refresh 105 to receive 5 pre-reset passages.

    • highbug: failed writes inflate the tab revision and let pagehide resurrect a reset pantrydist/store.mjs:84

Now: write() increments the in-memory rev even when setItem fails. Two failed writes make a tab’s unpersisted revision exceed a later successful reset/import in another tab. sync() ignores that actual stored replacement, and flush() treats its lower number as safe to overwrite.

Change to: Track the last successfully observed/persisted storage version separately from pending changes, and refuse to flush a pending snapshot whenever its persisted base has been replaced. Do not use revisions allocated by failed writes to decide whether a stored reset/import is older. Add regression coverage for two consecutive failures followed by another tab’s reset/import and pagehide.

Why: The brief explicitly requires stale pagehide writes to preserve newer progress and reset/import to propagate correctly. The single-failure test passes but the next failure restores discarded crops.

At 390px or any width, use two stores over shared Map-backed storage.

      A plants broccoli at plot 4: rev=1,dew=7.

      B.sync(); make only B’s storage.setItem throw QuotaExceededError.

      B commits carrots at plots 3 and 1: both saved=false, B.rev=3.

Restore B.setItem; A.replace(createGarden("live")) successfully writes a reset at rev=2,dew=12,no plants.

Call B.flush() to model the registered pagehide handler.

Actual: returns true and writes rev=4,dew=3,three crops, undoing the reset.

Expected: adopt rev=2 and write nothing.

Reproduced using unmodified dist/store.mjs and dist/game.mjs.

Calling B.sync() before flush also fails to adopt the reset because stored.rev < rev.

Three prior findings are fixed: overlapping commits, the stale source archive, and failed-write/pagehide resurrection.

High bug: reset/import can still count old wheel passages again. When the initiating tab’s feed is unavailable, replacement clears the shared anchor. A delayed older response can establish an older baseline, allowing replayed telemetry to grow imported broccoli from 5→10, or newly planted broccoli from 0→5. Confirmed through the UI at 390px with both coordination backends.

The exact source citation, fix and reproduction are recorded in .imd-findings.json.

    • highbug: reset and import discard the shared replay floor when the local feed is unavailabledist/store.mjs:47

Now: Replacement clears the anchor and returns before consulting current.anchor when the initiating tab has unavailable or expired telemetry. A delayed but still fresh older response then becomes the baseline, so another tab replaying its already-counted newer response grows the replacement crops again. The supplied fresh-local-sample regression passes, but the reported reset/import replay defect remains in this reachable state.

Change to: Retain the newest validated shared anchor as a replay floor while waiting for a replacement baseline; reject responses older than that floor and reanchor on the first eligible fresh response without awarding historical growth. Add reset and import regressions with an unavailable/expired local feed followed by an older valid response and replay of the shared newer sample.

Why: The brief requires reset/import propagation while preserving telemetry anchoring so the same wheel passages cannot grow crops twice.

      At 390x844 (width-independent), open A/B.

      Serve valid hardware samples in epoch review-wheel/e1: S100 has work=100 and observedAt=receivedAt=now-10s; S105 has work=105 and timestamps now-5s; staleAfterSeconds=120.

A receives S100 and plants broccoli at plot 4 (dew=7).

Let B's status request return HTTP 503 so its app sample becomes unavailable.

Start B's next refresh with an S100 response, holding that response in flight.

      Now refresh A with S105: shared anchor.work=105 and broccoli.grown=5.

In B, use Save > Import > confirm with A's current save, or Save > Reset > confirm and plant new broccoli in A.

These real UI actions save anchor=null.

      Release B's already-pending S100 response: shared anchor.work becomes 100.

Refresh A with the identical S105 response, with no new passages.

Actual import: broccoli.grown goes from 5 to 10; actual reset: new broccoli.grown goes from 0 to 5 (dew remains 7).

Expected: 5 after import and 0 after reset.

Reproduced through the actual application UI in Chromium for both Web Locks and IndexedDB coordination (disable navigator.locks before loading for the latter), for all four reset/import/backend combinations.

Holding B's earlier response proves this needs only ordinary response ordering, not an API counter regression.

Also reproduced with actual createPantryStore, parseTelemetry, applyTelemetry and plantSeed modules over shared Map-backed storage with a FIFO lock.

      All storage writes succeed.

  6. Build websiteAgent #4018 files changed

The replay defect is fixed: after a reset or import, a delayed feed response can no longer grow crops a second time. The code isn't committed or published. The changes are in the working tree, and I didn't push to GitHub or update wheelhaven.imd.site, because this environment has no publishing tool and hosting is handled by IMD's delivery stage.

Reproducing the finding: it reproduced in Chromium through the real UI, for all four reset/import and Web Locks/IndexedDB combinations. Import grew broccoli from 5 to 10, and reset's new broccoli went from 0 to 5, with dew still at 7.

Cause: when the tab doing the reset or import had no fresh feed, it saved anchor: null and kept no record of the newest shared sample. A delayed older response then became the new baseline, so replaying the newer sample counted those wheel passages again.

    The fix

    • dist/store.mjs: a reset or import that can't set an anchor now saves the newest shared sample as replayFloor, and later resets or imports keep it. A floor or anchor inside an imported file is ignored.
    • dist/game.mjs: applyTelemetry rejects anything older than the anchor or floor before changing any state. The first eligible response sets a new baseline with no growth and clears the floor. The floor also survives reloads and new tabs.

One fix beyond the finding: the same double-growth could happen with no reset at all. A delayed response from a previous device epoch rewound the anchor, and replaying that epoch's newer sample grew broccoli from 5 to 10. I reproduced this on the old engine in Node only, not through the UI. The age check now applies across epochs, so a genuinely new device could wait up to about 60 seconds if timestamps disagree.

    Checks after the final build

    CheckResult
npm test60/60, including the 15 original engine tests, unchanged; 13 of the 15 new tests failed before the fix
    Browser suite, Web Locks20/20
    Browser suite, IndexedDB20/20
    Typecheckpassed
    Design probe16/16
Live API checkpassed; run just before the final build, and neither the API code nor the page changed afterwards
Source ZIPrebuilt; a clean extract builds, passes 60/60 and regenerates an identical ZIP

The new browser checks run the reported sequence for reset and import, holding a real response in flight. After the replay, crops stay at 5 after import and 0 after reset, and three new passages then count once. I ran the browser and probe checks through a scratch setup using the Chromium already installed on this machine, not the browser build Playwright 1.61.1 expects.

    Remaining limitation

If a reset or import happens over an old save whose anchor has no date, the floor uses the browser's clock. A clock running behind the feed could accept a slightly older response, and one running ahead delays the new baseline. This is recorded in VALIDATION.md.

I also removed a line from VALIDATION.md that claimed an artifacts/validation.md copy, because that file doesn't exist. The finding is answered as fixed in .imd-responses.json.

I confirmed the fix holds by reading the code. I couldn't run anything this round: the Bash sandbox failed to start on every attempt ("Failed to create bridge sockets"), so I didn't run npm test, test/browser-sync.mjs or the taste probe. .imd-findings.json holds {"findings":[]}.

Last round's finding: fixed. That was the high bug where reset and import dropped the shared replay floor (dist/store.mjs:47). I traced my own reproduction through the new code:

    • The replacement keeps a floor. B resets or imports while its own feed is unavailable. anchorReplacement (dist/store.mjs:48-64) still stores no anchor, but it now saves the shared sample S105 as replayFloor (line 51) and returns at line 55.
    • The delayed old response is refused. B's held-back S100 response arrives. applyTelemetry (dist/game.mjs:168-172) compares it with the floor, sees it was received 5 s earlier, and returns outOfOrder. The saved anchor and the season round stay as they were.
    • A repeated S105 grows nothing. A refreshes with the same S105 response. It passes the floor check (same time, same count). There's no previous anchor, so game.mjs:177-179 re-anchors with a change of 0 and clears the floor. Imported broccoli stays at 5 and the new broccoli after a reset stays at 0.
    • The floor survives reloads. It is kept when a page reloads or a new tab opens (game.mjs:235-236), and a second reset or import passes it on (store.mjs:51).
    • The other paths are covered. A fresh, newer sample in the resetting tab is accepted against the floor and sets the starting point with no growth. A fresh but older one cannot rewind a newer shared anchor (store.mjs:56-61).
    • There's a regression test. test/sync.test.mjs:394-413 runs exactly this sequence for reset and import, with no, unavailable and expired local feeds. It checks that the old response is rejected without writing, that growth stays the same after the repeat, and that 3 new passages add exactly +3.

The author's stated limitation is real but small. With an old save whose anchor has no date, the floor takes the browser's clock. If that clock runs ahead of the feed, the first responses after a reset or import are refused until the feed's time passes it. Nothing grows twice; the cost is a short wait before growth resumes. VALIDATION.md records it, and I'm not raising it as a finding.

New findings: none. I found nothing new I could reproduce.

    Requirements
