Adversarial review of the Regen rail contracts in github.com/ToknWrks/imdo at the given commit (branch regen-rail, PR #1): src/regen/ and its tests. Foundry; Solidity 0.8.26, evm_version cancun, via_ir, optimizer_runs 44444444, bytecode_hash = "none"; vendored lib/ (OpenZeppelin, forge-std, Uniswap v4). The rest of the tree (IMDO token, hook, treasury, staking, claim, RegenDrop) was reviewed by IMD swarm job 37ac5d94-da10-4a27-84d9-246c17a2c3f7 and is NOT in scope except where src/regen/ touches it (ImdoTreasury.payOffsets and offsetsSafe).

Purpose: a permissionless, ownerless rail on Base that turns ETH fees from any registered project into retired Regen City Forest credits on Klima's Retirement Aggregator, with the project as beneficiary. Nothing has an owner, pause, setter or withdrawal. Deployment target: Base mainnet (chain 8453) for RegenRegistry, RegenRouter, UniswapV3Venue, RegenReceiverFactory; Ethereum mainnet for OffsetsForwarder. Nothing is deployed yet.

Contracts (src/regen/):

  1. RegenRegistry. register(string name, string regenAddress, address beneficiary) returns uint256 id (1-based). Name: 1..64 bytes printable ASCII 0x20..0x7E, no '|', no leading/trailing space, unique. regenAddress: 44 chars, "regen1" + 38 bech32 chars. Errors ZeroAddress, BadName, NameTaken(id), BadRegenAddress, UnknownProject(id). Event ProjectRegistered. project(id), exists(id), validName(bytes), validRegenAddress(bytes) pure. No update, no delete.
  2. RegenRouter. constructor(Config c) with struct Config { RegenRegistry registry; IKlimaRetirementAggregator aggregator; IERC20 usdc; address classVault; address creditA; address creditB; address creditC; IEthToTokenSwap venue; IPriceFeed ethUsd; uint256 maxFeedAge; uint256 minBatch; uint256 maxBatch; uint256 bountyBps; uint256 minOutBps; } (all addresses non-zero; minBatch > 0, maxBatch >= minBatch, bountyBps < 10000, 0 < minOutBps <= 10000, maxFeedAge > 0, feed decimals == 8). Intended values: minBatch 0.001 ether, maxBatch 0.05 ether, minOutBps 9700, bountyBps small (tens of bps), maxFeedAge about 1 hour. deposit(uint256 projectId) payable credits balanceOf[projectId][msg.sender]; plain receive() reverts DirectEthRefused. process(uint256 projectId, address depositor) nonReentrant: ethIn = min(balance, maxBatch), revert BelowMinBatch under minBatch; Chainlink ETH/USD read (stale or non-positive => emit Skipped("feedStale"), return); first credit token of creditA/B/C the aggregator can price (none => emit Skipped("classEmpty"), return); debit balance; bounty = ethIn * bountyBps / 10000; swap ethIn - bounty via venue.swapEthToToken(usdc, minUsdcOut(ethIn - bounty, price), router) and revert SwapShort if under minOutBps of the oracle value; quote tonnes for ALL USDC held (previous dust included), floor to 1e12 steps, revert NothingRetired on 0; forceApprove, aggregator.retireCreditViaKlima(credit, 0, 0, tonnes, usdc, classVault, held, 0, RetireDetails{retiringAddress: router, retiringEntityString: "Regen Retirement Router", beneficiaryAddress: p.beneficiary, beneficiaryString: p.name, retirementMessage: message(projectId, p, depositor), rest empty}); approve back to 0; retiredOf[projectId] and totalRetired += tonnes; emit Processed(projectId, depositor, caller, creditToken, ethIn, bounty, usdcBought, usdcSpent, tonnes); pay the bounty to msg.sender by call; a failed bounty call re-credits the depositor's balance and emits BountyForfeited. message() builds retirement grammar v1 (frozen with Regen 2026-10-07): the project's name, regen address and "src:8453:". Errors: ZeroAddress, UnknownProject, ZeroDeposit, BadParameter, BelowMinBatch, SwapShort, NothingRetired, DirectEthRefused.
  3. UniswapV3Venue. constructor(ISwapRouter02 router, address weth, uint24 fee). swapEthToToken(address token, uint256 minOut, address to) payable: SwapRouter02.exactInputSingle with msg.value, WETH->token at the fixed fee tier, recipient to; reverts WrongToken for anything but the configured token path. Stateless.
  4. RegenReceiver + RegenReceiverFactory. One receiver per project at a CREATE2 address predictable before deployment (salt = projectId, fixed init code): predict(projectId), deploy(projectId) (AlreadyDeployed, UnknownProject). Receiver: receive() accepts anything (the OP Stack bridge finalisation call must succeed on minimal gas); forward() permissionless, sends the whole balance to router.deposit{value}(projectId), NothingToForward on 0; event Forwarded(projectId, amount).
  5. OffsetsForwarder (Ethereum). constructor(IOffsetsSource treasury, IL1StandardBridge bridge, address receiverOnBase, uint32 minGasLimit). forward() permissionless: calls treasury.payOffsets() (the ImdoTreasury pays only its immutable offsetsSafe, which is this contract), then bridges its entire ETH balance with bridge.depositETHTo(receiverOnBase, minGasLimit, "") (L1StandardBridge 0x3154Cf16ccdb4C6d922629664174b904d80F2C35). receive() accepts. NothingToForward on 0. No other function.

Review questions (each needs a concrete answer):

  • Can ETH ever leave RegenRouter other than as a retirement input, the caller's bounty, or stay as USDC dust for the next batch? Can anyone extract USDC or credits? Reentrancy through the venue, the aggregator, a credit token, or the bounty call?
  • Griefing: can process() be made to revert forever for a project (feed, aggregator quote, tonnes rounding, dust accumulation, a depositor that is a contract)? Can the bounty be farmed with tiny deposits? Is minBatch/maxBatch sizing sound against a 0.05 ETH batch on Base liquidity?
  • Oracle floor: is minUsdcOut(ethIn, price) correct in decimals (USDC 6, feed 8, ETH 18)? Can a sandwich on the V3 pool pass the 97% floor and what is the maximum extractable per batch? Stale-feed handling: maxFeedAge, negative or zero answers, round completeness.
  • Aggregator integration: are the quoteRetireCreditForInputTokenInViaKlima and retireCreditViaKlima argument orders and semantics right for Klima's Base aggregator 0xdA0A793D7C32AB80bcdab7F8c725c96DB22464f4 with classVault 0xf4699531e0a5F6e9351a36De3753Deaad329Bf45 and credit tokens 0xE6628083Ab9A9Ab235e80f63e7ecd810B54A71B8, 0x3D1bf942619cB9FC71543721Ef3D5496FAf283B8, 0xb77A0be47A686c525a38fbb10c0D424929471d7D? What happens if the aggregator spends less than held, or more tonnes than quoted, or if a credit token is paused or delisted mid-call?
  • Registry: can a name collide by case or whitespace, can a malicious name or regen address break the retirement message or any off-chain reader (the message is read by Regen's indexer); is the bech32 charset check sufficient and does a wrong checksum matter here?
  • Receivers and bridge: CREATE2 prediction correctness across projects; can a receiver's ETH be redirected; can ETH bridged to a not-yet-deployed receiver be lost; L1StandardBridge gas limit and failure modes; can OffsetsForwarder strand ETH; reentrancy from payOffsets.
  • Cross-contract: ImdoTreasury pays offsetsSafe by pull. Confirm the forwarder works as that seat, and that nothing in the treasury can brick forward().

Rules: read-only review; do not modify src/, script/, foundry.toml, lib/ or test/ outside test/scratch/. Scratch tests may be added under test/scratch/ only. Every finding needs a severity, exact file:line, a concrete reproduction and, where possible, a Foundry proof that fails on this code. Run forge test (163 tests; test/fork/RegenRouterBaseFork.t.sol forks Base at block 52335751 via https://base.gateway.tenderly.co and may be skipped if no RPC) and forge fmt --check, and report the result. Do not claim an audit; this is a review by the IMD swarm. Wording in any report: "regenerative contribution" and "retired credits", never "carbon offset" or "net zero".

  • 1.highprocess() has no price floor on the USDC -> kVCM leg: the caller can sandwich the Aerodrome pool in one transaction and keep most of each batch's retired creditssrc/regen/RegenRouter.sol:175

                aggregator.quoteRetireCreditForInputTokenInViaKlima(credit, 0, held, address(usdc), classVault, 0);

    Merged from audit_economics, audit_permissions and audit_flow (one mechanism). The router floors only the first leg (ETH -> USDC against Chainlink, minOutBps). The second leg is unguarded: line 175 asks the aggregator how many tonnes held USDC buys and line 179 retires exactly that with maxInputTokenIn = held, so the retirement can never fail on price and any kVCM price is accepted.

    Klima's RetireFacet prices USDC -> kVCM off the spot reserves of a single Aerodrome volatile pool (0x5C0D76fab1822bDeb47308eD6028231761ED723E, 30 bps). Verified on a Base fork at block 52335751: the pool held 538,950 kVCM against 15,453 USDC (~$15k depth), and live at block 52487147 it held 521,302 kVCM / 15,768 USDC.

    Because process() is permissionless and pays the caller, the keeper is the attacker and no mempool ordering is needed: buy kVCM, call process() for every pending (project, depositor) slice, sell back, all in one transaction. Fork measurements with bountyBps 50, one 0.05 ETH batch: honest 6.1965 t; front-run 2,000 USDC -> attacker +15.80 USDC, 4.865 t; 5,000 -> +27.52, 3.549 t; 8,000 -> +31.20, 2.702 t; 12,000 -> +29.48, 1.975 t; 16,000 -> +23.64, 1.506 t.

    With 0.25 ETH pending (five slices) and a 15,768 USDC front-run: attacker +404.37 USDC plus the bounty, 7.516 t retired instead of ~31 t. The NatSpec at lines 29-32 ('a sandwich ... can never take more than (10000 - minOutBps) of a batch') is false for this leg; no ETH or USDC is taken from the router, but most of each batch's regenerative contribution is diverted to whoever processes it, for every batch, forever.

    Fix (preserving the ownerless design): bound tonnes per USDC against a reference the caller cannot move in the same block, e.g. an immutable minTonnesPerUsdc / maxUsdcPerTonne checked as tonnes * 1e6 / held >= floor, or the Aerodrome pool's time-weighted quote (Pool.quote(USDC, held, granularity)) scaled by minOutBps; emit Skipped('priceOff') or revert when violated so the ETH waits.

    A proof is attached: test/scratch/RegenCreditLegSandwich.t.sol mirrors the live pool with Klima's two Aerodrome formulas and fails on this code (attacker 15,000 -> 15,416.19 USDC, 7.785 t retired against 30.557 t fair); it passes once a second-leg floor makes the manipulated batches revert or skip.

    Fork Base at block 52335751 (test/scratch/JudgeFork.t.sol, FOUNDRY_PROFILE=fork): registry with project 1, router with the real aggregator 0xdA0A793D..., USDC, class vault 0xf4699531..., credits C02-004/003/006, UniswapV3Venue fee 500, Chainlink feed, minBatch 0.001 ETH, maxBatch 0.05 ETH, bountyBps 50, minOutBps 9700.

    Depositor deposits 0.05 ETH for project 1.

    Attacker (holding 8,000 USDC): transfer 8,000 USDC to the Aerodrome pool and swap for kVCM; call router.process(1, depositor); sell all kVCM back.

    Expected: the caller cannot profit beyond the bounty and the batch retires ~6.20 t.

    Actual: attacker USDC +31,197,266 (+31.20 USDC), retiredOf(1) = 2.702229 t.

    Offline: forge test --match-path test/scratch/RegenCreditLegSandwich.t.sol fails with 'process() caller profited from sandwiching the USDC -> kVCM leg: 15416186879 > 15000000000'.

  • 2.mediumCredit liveness is probed with 1 USDC but the batch is quoted with `held`: a credit that can absorb $1 but not the batch leaves one project's USDC to be retired under the next project, or reverts eversrc/regen/RegenRouter.sol:261

                    order[i], 0, 1e6, address(usdc), classVault, 0

    Merged from audit_math (leftover attribution, medium) and audit_economics (sub-step remainder, low): same root cause and same fix. _firstLiveCredit() (lines 257-273) selects the first credit whose one-dollar quote is non-zero; process() then quotes ALL USDC held (line 175), floors to TONNE_STEP (line 176), reverts NothingRetired on zero (line 177) and retires with maxInputTokenIn = held.

    The contract's model (lines 33-35, test_dustCarriesToTheNextBatch) is that the leftover is under one tonne step (~20 micro-USDC). That only holds when the chosen credit can absorb the whole batch. The A/B/C fall-through exists precisely for a credit running dry, and in that state the two quotes disagree.

    (a) If the aggregator caps the quote to the remaining supply (the semantics the project's own MockAggregator in test/unit/RegenRouter.t.sol lines 135-136 models), the retirement spends only part of held and the rest, up to a full batch (~$125 at maxBatch), stays in the router with no per-project attribution; the next process() for ANY project (anyone can register one and deposit minBatch) falls through to the next credit and retires the leftover with that project's beneficiary, name and regen address in RetireDetails and in the retirement message that Regen indexes.

    Attribution with the project as beneficiary is the stated purpose of the rail. (b) If the remaining supply is non-zero but under 1e-6 t, the probe passes, the floored batch quote is 0 and every process() for every project reverts NothingRetired until some third party changes that credit's remainder on Klima. (c) If the live aggregator instead reverts the held quote (line 175 is outside try/catch), the same halt occurs.

    The live quote at block 52487147 caps at the pool (1e12 USDC -> 784.75 t) so the supply-cap branch could not be exercised on the fork; the code-level mismatch is independent of which branch the diamond takes.

    Fix: run the real held quote per credit in fixed order inside try/catch and take the first whose floored tonnes is non-zero AND whose tokenAmount (second return) covers held minus one step; otherwise emit Skipped('classEmpty'). Alternatively compare spent against held after the retirement and either fall through in the same call or keep a per-project USDC carry so leftover is only retired for the project that paid for it.

    Supply-capping aggregator (same semantics as test/unit/RegenRouter.t.sol MockAggregator), 22 USDC/t, creditA 0.1 t left ($2.20), creditB/C stocked; bountyBps 50, minBatch 0.001 ETH, maxBatch 0.05 ETH.

    Project 1 (beneficiary victimSafe) deposits 0.02 ETH; process(1, depositor) swaps 0.0199 ETH -> 49.75 USDC, probe passes on creditA, quote is capped to 0.1 t, retirement pulls 2.20 USDC, 47.55 USDC stays.

    Attacker registers project 2 (beneficiary attacker), deposits 0.001 ETH, calls process(2, attacker): held = 50.0375 USDC, creditB retires 2.274431 t with beneficiaryAddress = attacker.

    Expected: project 2's retirement is paid only by its own 2.4875 USDC.

    Actual: the aggregator pulls 50,037,482 micro-USDC for the attacker's project; retiredOf(2) = 2.274431e18, retiredOf(1) = 0.1e18. forge test --match-path test/scratch/RegenRouterLeftoverAttribution.t.sol fails with '50037482 > 2487501'.

    Branch (b): setCredit(creditA, 5e11), setCredit(creditB, 1000e18), setCredit(creditC, 1000e18), deposit 0.05 ETH, process(1, depositor): expected creditB retires 5.6 t; actual revert NothingRetired() for every caller (test/scratch/RegenProbeMismatch.t.sol, the specialist proof, fails with NothingRetired()).

  • 3.mediumretireCreditViaKlima is not guarded: when the probed credit reverts on retirement (paused, delisted, or 1 wei of it sitting on the diamond) process() reverts for every project with no fall-through to src/regen/RegenRouter.sol:179

            aggregator.retireCreditViaKlima(

    Merged from audit_permissions (medium) and audit_flow (low). _firstLiveCredit() decides from a view quote wrapped in try/catch, but the retirement itself is a bare external call. Any state where the quote succeeds and the retire reverts stops process() for all projects and depositors; the three credit addresses and their order are immutable, so nothing on the router side can route around it, and the ETH stays in balanceOf until the state clears on Klima's side.

    Two such states are confirmed: (1) a credit whose retire path is paused or delisted while its quote path still prices it (mock); (2) on the live diamond, LibRetire.swapCallerTokenForCarbon ends with a strict balanceOf(address(this)) != amount check, so any pre-existing balance of the chosen credit on the aggregator makes every USDC retirement of that credit revert InvalidAmountReceived() (selector 0xc20c3993).

    Verified on a Base fork at block 52335751: after transferring 1 wei of C02-004 from the class vault to the aggregator, router.process(1, pot) reverts 0xc20c3993. The credit token is a plain transferable ERC20 (the vault's transfer succeeded), but at that block its entire supply (2,089.27 t) sits in the class vault, so the donation path needs an outside party that can obtain credit tokens without retiring them; the pause/delist path needs Klima action.

    Only Klima's owner can sweep such dust (approveToken). No funds are lost, but the rail is offline for the duration and the Offsets leg keeps bridging into it.

    Fix: wrap the retirement in try/catch and on failure try the next credit in order (re-quoting for it), or emit Skipped and leave the batch untouched (the ETH must then be re-credited since line 169 has already debited it, and the USDC bought must stay for the next batch), mirroring the feedStale/classEmpty paths. The attached proof fails on this code with 'Paused' and passes once the router falls through or skips.

    Mock aggregator that quotes every credit at 22 USDC/t but whose retireCreditViaKlima reverts 'Paused' for creditA and succeeds for creditB/C; register project 1, deposit 0.05 ETH, call process(1, depositor).

    Expected: the batch retires through creditB, or Skipped with the ETH kept.

    Actual: revert 'Paused'; no project can be processed until the aggregator changes. forge test --match-path test/scratch/RegenRetireNoFallthrough.t.sol fails with 'Paused'.

    Live shape: FOUNDRY_PROFILE=fork, Base block 52335751, deposit 0.05 ETH for project 1, vm.prank(classVault) C02-004.transfer(aggregator, 1), then process(1, pot) reverts with 0xc20c3993 = InvalidAmountReceived() (test/scratch/JudgeFork.t.sol::test_oneWeiDonationHaltsRetire).

  • 4.lowFlooring to TONNE_STEP leaves no slack for the aggregator's round-up: some batch sizes revert SlippageExceeded by one micro-USDC and cannot be processed until the pools movesrc/regen/RegenRouter.sol:176

            tonnes = tonnes / TONNE_STEP * TONNE_STEP;

    From audit_permissions, reproduced exactly. The router quotes tonnes for exactly held, floors to 1e12 and retires with maxInputTokenIn = held.

    The live aggregator computes the USDC it needs for the floored tonnes with a round-up, so when the flooring removes almost nothing the requirement exceeds held by one micro-USDC and retireCreditViaKlima reverts SlippageExceeded(required, held). ethIn is fixed at min(balance, maxBatch), so for a given pool state the revert is deterministic for that depositor's balance; the batch waits until the WETH/USDC or USDC/kVCM pool moves enough to change held, and a keeper that sent the transaction pays ~4M gas for nothing.

    The specialist's sweep of 40 sizes hit it once. No ETH is lost.

    Fix: quote for held minus a small margin (e.g. 1e3) while still passing held as maxInputTokenIn, or after flooring check quoteRetireCreditViaKlima(credit, 0, tonnes, usdc, classVault, 0).retirementPrice <= held and subtract one more TONNE_STEP if not.

    FOUNDRY_PROFILE=fork, Base block 52335751, router with bountyBps 50, minOutBps 9700, maxBatch 0.05 ETH, UniswapV3Venue fee 500: deposit 16076923077018104 wei for project 1 and call process(1, depositor).

    Expected: a retirement of the floored tonnes with up to ~20 micro-USDC of dust.

    Actual: revert 0x71c4efed SlippageExceeded(40534313, 40534312) from the aggregator (test/scratch/JudgeFork.t.sol::test_roundingSlippageExceeded logs the raw revert bytes).

  • 5.lowRemainders below minBatch, including a forfeited bounty, are stranded per (project, depositor) with no way to retire themsrc/regen/RegenRouter.sol:155

            if (balance < minBatch) revert BelowMinBatch(balance, minBatch);

    From audit_math, reproduced. process() takes min(balance, maxBatch) and refuses any balance under minBatch; there is no withdrawal, no merge across depositors and no sub-minimum path, so whenever balance mod maxBatch lands in (0, minBatch) the last slice is stuck until the SAME depositor deposits again for the SAME project.

    A bridge receiver tops itself up, but a one-off direct depositor (a Safe, which the contract's own doc names as a use case) loses up to minBatch (~$2.5 at 0.001 ETH) for good. The bounty-forfeit path (line 210) makes a new stranded bucket on its own: a keeper contract that cannot take ETH re-credits bountyBps of the batch (0.00025 ETH at 50 bps) into the depositor's balance, which is itself below minBatch.

    Design intent ('dust is not worth the gas') is documented, but the forfeited bounty being unreachable is not. Options that keep the design: let process() accept a sub-minBatch balance when the caller waives the bounty, or let a depositor fold its remainder into another depositor's balance for the same project, or at least document the loss bound.

    minBatch 0.001 ETH, maxBatch 0.05 ETH, bountyBps 50 (test/scratch/JudgeUnit.t.sol::test_remainderStuck).

    Depositor deposits 0.0505 ETH for project 1; an EOA keeper calls process(1, depositor): ethIn = 0.05, balance = 0.0005 ETH; process(1, depositor) now reverts BelowMinBatch(500000000000000, 1000000000000000).

    Depositor tops up to 0.05 ETH; a contract without receive() calls process(): bounty 0.00025 ETH is forfeited into balanceOf[1][depositor]; process() reverts BelowMinBatch(250000000000000, 1000000000000000).

    Expected: every deposited wei is eventually retirable.

  • 6.lowRegistry uniqueness is byte-exact: case, interior-space and look-alike variants of a registered name are accepted with other beneficiaries, defeating the stated reason for unique namessrc/regen/RegenRegistry.sol:43

            bytes32 h = keccak256(bytes(name));

    Merged from four specialists (economics info, math low, permissions low, flow low). The contract's own rationale (lines 12-13) is that a second 'IMDO' would carry a different beneficiary and confuse every reader of the retirement log.

    The check hashes the raw bytes, so 'imdo', 'IM DO', 'IMD0', 'IMDO x' (double inner space) and 'IMDO (official)' all register permissionlessly with any beneficiary and regen address, and each appears as beneficiaryString and as the name: field of the retirement message in Klima's events and Regen's index.

    Grammar v1 itself cannot be broken (no '|', no control characters, no leading/trailing space; ':' inside a name does not split the ' | '-separated fields). test_nameIsUniqueCaseSensitive asserts the current behaviour, so this is a limitation to decide on rather than an accident; on-chain readers can key on id or beneficiary.

    Fix if wanted: hash a normalised key (lowercase ASCII, collapsed runs of spaces) in idByName while storing the display name as given; grammar v1 is unchanged.

    register('IMDO', R, A) -> 1; register('imdo', R, B) -> 2; register('IM DO', R, C) -> 3; register('IMD0', R, D) -> 4; register('IMDO x', R, D) -> 5; only register('IMDO', R, E) reverts NameTaken(1) (test/scratch/JudgeUnit.t.sol::test_registryLookalikes). Expected per lines 12-13: the variants collide with id 1.

  • 7.lowRegen address checksum is not verified and a registration is permanent: a mistyped address burns the project's unique name and every retirement for that id carries an address nobody controlssrc/regen/RegenRegistry.sol:82

                if (!_bech32Char(s[i])) return false;

    From audit_flow, reproduced. Only the length, the 'regen1' prefix and the bech32 charset are checked; the six-character bech32 checksum is not. Any 38 charset characters pass.

    Because there is no update or delete and names are unique, a typo takes the name permanently: deposits and process() work from the moment register() returns (nothing on chain is provisional, contrary to the comment at lines 72-73), so retirements are written with a regen: field no Regen indexer will accept and the credits cannot be mirrored to the intended account.

    The grammar is not at risk and the credits are only landed by Regen after its own verification, so this is an operational trap rather than a fund-safety defect.

    Fix: verify the bech32 checksum on chain (polymod over the 5-bit data, ~40 iterations, a few thousand gas) so BadRegenAddress rejects it; or allow the registrant a one-time correction before the first retirement; at minimum document that the address must be checksum-verified off chain before the registration transaction is sent.

    register('Typo', 'regen183ht37fsp2fhnq3gneyjycp08c3ju4xnvxnvaq', 0x5) (last character of the valid test address changed, checksum invalid).

    Expected: BadRegenAddress.

    Actual: returns id 2 and 'Typo' is taken forever (test/scratch/JudgeUnit.t.sol::test_registryBadChecksumAccepted).

  • 8.lowReceiver addresses are predictable for ids that do not exist yet and ids are sequential and permissionless: a forwarder fixed to predict(id) before the project's register() lands can be captured by whsrc/regen/RegenReceiver.sol:54

        function predict(uint256 projectId) public view returns (address) {

    Merged from audit_flow (receiver front-run) and audit_permissions (name squatting): one deploy-order hazard. predict(id) is valid before the id exists (by design, so OffsetsForwarder.receiverOnBase can be fixed first), deploy() only requires that SOME project holds the id, register() is permissionless and ids are sequential, and OffsetsForwarder.receiverOnBase and ImdoTreasury.offsetsSafe are immutable.

    If the forwarder is constructed on Ethereum (or the treasury funded) before IMDO's register() lands on Base, anyone who registers first takes that id with their own name, regen address and beneficiary; every ETH leg bridged thereafter is retired under that identity and nothing can redirect it. The same first-come rule lets a watcher take the name 'IMDO' with their own beneficiary if the registry is deployed in one transaction and the project registered in a later one.

    The CREATE2 prediction itself is correct (salt = id, init code = creationCode ++ abi.encode(router, id), asserted in deploy()). The tree has no written deployment order for the rail (docs cover the IMDO launch only) and the forwarder constructor cannot check Base state.

    Fix: register the project and deploy its receiver on Base first, record the id, and only then construct the forwarder; register the first projects in the registry's deployment transaction; or derive the receiver salt from keccak256(name, beneficiary) so a predicted address cannot be claimed by a different registration.

    test/scratch/JudgeUnit.t.sol::test_receiverIdFrontRun: factory.predict(2) is taken as the forwarder target while only project 1 exists; a squatter calls registry.register('Squat', R, squatter) and gets id 2; factory.deploy(2) succeeds; 0.05 ETH 'bridged' to the predicted address is forwarded and process(2, receiver) retires it with beneficiary = squatter, retiredOf(2) > 5.6 t. Expected: the leg is retired for the intended project.

  • 9.lowOffsetsForwarder and ImdoTreasury point at each other through immutables with no code check: the shipped scripts seat a Safe as offsetsSafe, and a mispredicted treasury address makes forward() revert src/regen/OffsetsForwarder.sol:48

            try treasury.payOffsets() {} catch {}

    Merged from audit_economics, audit_permissions and audit_flow. ImdoTreasury.payOffsets() pays only its immutable offsetsSafe (src/ImdoTreasury.sol:235-240); OffsetsForwarder's treasury is immutable and non-zero-checked (line 35).

    Whichever is deployed second must be given a predicted address of the first. script/DeployImdo.s.sol:93-110 passes c.offsetsSafe straight from config with no forwarder step, script/rehearse-mainnet.sh:8 sets OFFSETS to a Safe (0xb41E9b47..., the same address as REGEN) and docs/DEPLOYMENT.md:12 still calls offsetsSafe a Safe.

    As rehearsed, the forwarder is not the seat: payOffsets() reverts Unauthorized inside the try/catch and forward() reverts NothingToForward while the 25% Offsets leg accrues to the Safe. Separately, payOffsets() has no return value, so Solidity 0.8.26 performs the extcodesize check in the caller before the call; try/catch does not cover it.

    A forwarder built against an address with no code (a nonce shift in the multi-transaction broadcast that docs/DEPLOYMENT.md already warns about) reverts on every forward() and whatever ETH it holds can never be bridged, contrary to the 'nothing can be stranded' comment at lines 20-22. Nothing in the treasury can brick a correctly seated forwarder: payOffsets is nonReentrant, pays by a plain call the empty receive() accepts, and a reverting pull is swallowed.

    Fix: require treasury_.code.length != 0 and bridge_.code.length != 0 in the constructor; in the deploy script predict the forwarder address ahead of the treasury (as DeployImdo already does for expectedClaim) and assert treasury.offsetsSafe() == address(forwarder) and forwarder.treasury() == treasury after deployment; or make the pull a low-level call so a codeless target cannot block bridging.

    (1) new OffsetsForwarder(IOffsetsSource(0xBEEF), bridge, receiver, 100000) with 0xBEEF having no code; vm.deal(forwarder, 1 ether); forwarder.forward().

    Expected per the @dev comment: bridges 1 ETH.

    Actual: reverts before the try/catch, bridge received 0 (test/scratch/JudgeUnit.t.sol::test_codelessTreasuryStrandsForwarder).

    (2) Deploy per script/DeployImdo.s.sol with offsetsSafe = S (a Safe), then deploy OffsetsForwarder(treasury, bridge, receiver, gas); fund the treasury and call treasury.process() so offsetsOwed > 0; forwarder.forward(): payOffsets reverts Unauthorized (caught), balance 0, revert NothingToForward; offsetsOwed stays claimable only by S (same shape as test/unit/RegenReceiver.t.sol test_onlyTheForwarderCanPullTheLeg with the roles swapped).

  • 10.lowOffsetsForwarder accepts any minGasLimit: a value above the OP Stack resource limit makes forward() revert on every call and permanently strands the treasury's Offsets leg; zero makes every relay needsrc/regen/OffsetsForwarder.sol:41

            minGasLimit = minGasLimit_;

    Merged from audit_economics (info), audit_math (low) and audit_permissions (info). minGasLimit is a uint32 immutable with no bounds. It flows to L1StandardBridge.depositETHTo -> L1CrossDomainMessenger.sendMessage, whose baseGas() adds overhead and multiplies by 64/63 before OptimismPortal.depositTransaction meters it against the resource config (maxResourceLimit 20,000,000).

    Verified on an Ethereum mainnet fork against the real bridge 0x3154Cf16ccdb4C6d922629664174b904d80F2C35: a forwarder built with type(uint32).max reverts on forward() with 1 ETH held, while 100,000 bridges it. Because ImdoTreasury.offsetsSafe is immutable and payOffsets() pays only that address, a forwarder deployed with an unusable value has no second chance: the whole Offsets leg (25% of every processed fee) is unpullable on either side.

    At the other end, 0 is accepted and bridges on L1, but every L2 finalisation then fails its gas check and sits in L2CrossDomainMessenger.failedMessages until someone replays it with more gas (the ETH is not lost; the receiver's empty receive() needs on the order of 50-60k gas including finalizeBridgeETH).

    Fix: bound the constructor argument, e.g. 50_000 <= minGasLimit_ <= 1_000_000, and document the replay procedure.

    FOUNDRY_PROFILE=fork, Ethereum mainnet fork (test/scratch/JudgeBridgeFork.t.sol): new OffsetsForwarder(src, 0x3154Cf16..., 0xBEEF, type(uint32).max); vm.deal(f, 1 ether); f.forward() reverts (test_hugeMinGasLimitRevertsForever); the same with 100_000 bridges the ETH and leaves balance 0; with 0 the constructor and forward() also succeed (test_zeroMinGasLimitAccepted). Expected: the constructor rejects a limit that cannot execute finalizeBridgeETH or cannot be deposited at all.

  • 11.infoFeed handling: a future updatedAt makes process() revert with a checked-arithmetic panic instead of Skipped; min/maxAnswer clamp, round completeness and the Base sequencer uptime feed are not considersrc/regen/RegenRouter.sol:243

            if (answer <= 0 || updatedAt == 0 || block.timestamp - updatedAt > maxFeedAge) return 0;

    Merged from audit_math and audit_permissions. Decimals are right (ethIn 1e18 x price 1e8 / 1e20 -> USDC 1e6; the fork fill lands 0.07% under Chainlink) and negative, zero and stale answers skip as documented.

    Gaps, all liveness-only: (1) updatedAt > block.timestamp underflows and process() reverts Panic(0x11) rather than emitting Skipped('feedStale'); Chainlink's proxy takes updatedAt from the update block so this needs a replaced or misbehaving feed; (2) the aggregator's minAnswer/maxAnswer clamp is not handled: if ETH trades below minAnswer the floor demands more USDC than any pool pays and process() reverts SwapShort until the market recovers (ETH stays credited); (3) roundId/answeredInRound are not compared and the L2 Sequencer Uptime Feed is not consulted, so after a sequencer outage shorter than maxFeedAge the last pre-outage answer is accepted.

    The 97% floor and the 0.05 ETH cap bound the value at stake.

    Fix: updatedAt > block.timestamp || block.timestamp - updatedAt > maxFeedAge and, optionally, the uptime feed.

    MockFeed.set(2500e8, block.timestamp + 1); depositor has 0.01 ETH credited; router.process(1, depositor).

    Expected: Skipped(1, depositor, 'feedStale') and return.

    Actual: revert with arithmetic underflow (panic 0x11) (test/scratch/JudgeUnit.t.sol::test_futureUpdatedAtPanics).

  • 12.infoUniswapV3Venue does not pin the output token: WrongToken only rejects WETH, unlike the stated 'anything but the configured token path'src/regen/UniswapV3Venue.sol:41

            if (token == weth) revert WrongToken();

    Merged from audit_economics and audit_math. The venue has no configured output token; it swaps WETH into whatever token the caller names at the fixed fee tier. The router always passes its immutable USDC and checks its own USDC balance delta, and the venue holds nothing and delivers to to, so no funds are at risk; anyone may use it as a generic WETH -> X swapper at their own cost.

    Reported so the documented guarantee matches the code: either amend the spec or add a token immutable and compare against it.

    venue.swapEthToToken{value: 1 wei}(someOtherToken, 0, to) does not revert WrongToken; it attempts a WETH -> someOtherToken swap at the configured fee (test/scratch/JudgeUnit.t.sol::test_venueNotPinned: only the WETH call reverts WrongToken). Expected per the task description: WrongToken for anything but the configured token.

  • 13.infoBounty does not cover process() gas at the lower end of the batch range; the bounty cannot be farmed, and the thin pool is Aerodrome's, not Uniswap'ssrc/regen/RegenRouter.sol:170

            uint256 bounty = ethIn * bountyBps / BPS;

    From audit_permissions, confirmed. A real process() on the Base fork costs ~3.99M gas (gas report: 3,987,207 and 3,991,086 for the two fork runs; two aggregator quotes, the V3 swap and the Klima diamond retirement).

    With minBatch 0.001 ETH and bountyBps in the tens, the bounty is 0.00001 to 0.00005 ETH; at a Base base fee of 0.01 to 0.05 gwei the call costs 0.00004 to 0.0002 ETH, so batches below roughly 0.01 to 0.05 ETH are not worth a third-party keeper's gas and a sub-maxBatch remainder can wait until the project processes it itself.

    Conversely the bounty cannot be farmed: a 0.001 ETH deposit yields at most a few ten-thousandths of itself while the rest is retired, so a farmer always loses. Sizing against the WETH/USDC 0.05% V3 pool is sound (millions of USDC of depth; a 0.05 ETH batch moves it far less than the 3% floor); the ~15k USDC Aerodrome USDC/kVCM pool is the thin one (see the high finding).

    FOUNDRY_PROFILE=fork forge test --gas-report on test/fork/RegenRouterBaseFork.t.sol: process(1, ...)

    3,987,207 gas for a 0.01 ETH batch.

    Bounty at 50 bps on minBatch = 0.000005 ETH; gas at 0.02 gwei = 0.00008 ETH.

    Expected per the design ('the caller earns bountyBps of the batch'): a positive keeper margin.

    Actual: negative at minBatch.

  • 14.infoTrust assumption: the Klima aggregator, class vault, credit tokens and Aerodrome pool are immutable dependencies with no exit; a Klima migration ends the rail while the treasury keeps bridging into itsrc/regen/RegenRouter.sol:119

            aggregator = c.aggregator;

    From audit_economics; reported as the brief asks, not as a code defect. The aggregator is an EIP-2535 diamond whose owner can replace facets, change the USDC/kVCM/pool configuration or delist credits; the credit tokens are registry tokens under Klima's control. The router hardcodes all of them.

    If all three credits stop quoting, process() emits Skipped('classEmpty') forever and balanceOf keeps the ETH with no withdrawal, while OffsetsForwarder keeps bridging the treasury's 25% leg into the dead router because ImdoTreasury.offsetsSafe is immutable too. Each process() also hands the diamond an allowance of exactly held and trusts its retire path, so a malicious facet upgrade could take one batch plus dust per call without retiring.

    The project should document that a Klima migration permanently ends the rail and decide the Ethereum-side policy in advance (a forwarder whose receiver can be re-pointed by a timelocked role, or accepting that the Offsets accrual would then have to stop).

    Mock the aggregator to revert every quote (test/unit/RegenRouter.t.sol test_emptyClassSkipsAndKeepsTheEth with all three credits unsupported): deposit 0.05 ETH, process(): Skipped('classEmpty'), balance unchanged; no function returns the ETH to the depositor or the project. Expected by design; listed so the dependency is explicit.

    • High, RegenRouter.sol:174. The USDC to kVCM leg inside the retirement has no price floor. The aggregator quotes and swaps at live spot on the Aerodrome USDC/kVCM pool, which held only about 15k USDC at the fork block, and the router accepts any non-zero tonne count. Whoever calls process() can wrap it in a buy and sell of that pool in one transaction. On the real fork an 8,000 USDC front-run nets the caller about 31 USDC on a 126 USDC batch and the project is credited 2.70 t instead of 6.20 t. The 97% floor only covers the ETH to USDC leg, so the documented "never more than 3%" ceiling is wrong for this leg. The proof test is a non-fork CPMM replica that fails today.
    • Medium, RegenRouter.sol:179. Credit order is immutable and only the quote is wrapped in try/catch. If a live-quoted credit reverts on retirement, every project's process() reverts and credits B and C are never tried. No ETH is lost but the rail stops until Klima changes state.
    • Low, RegenRegistry.sol:43 and :36. Uniqueness is byte-exact, so "imdo" and "IM DO" register alongside "IMDO" with other beneficiaries, and names can be squatted before the project registers. A mistyped regen address can never be corrected.
    • Low, OffsetsForwarder.sol:35. The forwarder and the treasury reference each other through immutables, so the seat only works with address precomputation. The rehearsal script currently seats a Safe, under which forward() reverts NothingToForward. Nothing in the treasury can brick a correctly seated forwarder.
    • Low, RegenRouter.sol:176. The aggregator rounds its USDC requirement up and the 1e-6 t floor sometimes leaves no slack. One of forty batch sizes on the fork reverts SlippageExceeded by one micro-USDC, deterministically for that state.
    • Info. Unvalidated minGasLimit (relay fails but is replayable, so nothing is lost), a future updatedAt reverts instead of skipping, and process() costs about 4M gas so the bounty does not cover a keeper at minBatch.

    Answers to the review questions not covered above

    • ETH leaves the router only through the venue swap, the bounty, or re-credit on bounty failure. Reentrancy via venue, aggregator, token, or bounty call is blocked by nonReentrant, and deposit during a callback is harmless.
    • Argument order and semantics for the Base aggregator are confirmed by the fork trace: retirement pulled 50,172,042 of 50,172,058 USDC held, emitted the beneficiary and message byte for byte, and dust stayed. A 100k USDC donation to the router did not revert, so that griefing lead is closed.
    • A sandwich on the V3 WETH/USDC pool is bounded by the 3% floor at about 0.0015 ETH per batch, and moving that pool 3% costs far more than that, so it is unprofitable.
    • Decimal handling in minUsdcOut is correct. The honest V3 fill was 0.07% under Chainlink.
    • CREATE2 prediction matches deployment across projects, bridged ETH to an undeployed receiver is recoverable, and a receiver cannot redirect funds.

    • highUSDC->kVCM leg inside the retirement has no price floor: the process() caller can sandwich the Aerodrome pool around its own call and skim about a quarter of every batchsrc/regen/RegenRouter.sol:174

      The router protects only the first leg (ETH -> USDC) with the Chainlink floor minUsdcOut (97%). The second leg is unprotected: quoteRetireCreditForInputTokenInViaKlima and retireCreditViaKlima both price USDC -> kVCM with a live getAmountOut on the Aerodrome volatile pool USDC/kVCM (0x5C0D76fab1822bDeb47308eD6028231761ED723E, fee 30 bps; at Base block 52335751 it held 538,950 kVCM / 15,453 USDC, a ~$15k pool), then retire credits at the Klima internal kVCM/tonne price.

      The router asks for whatever held buys at that spot and only requires tonnes != 0 after flooring to 1e-6 t, so any pool state is accepted. The docs claim "it can never take more than (10000 - minOutBps) of a batch"; that is false for this leg. Because process() is permissionless and the caller is the natural MEV actor, the keeper can bundle buy-kVCM / process / sell-kVCM in a single transaction (no mempool ordering needed on Base).

      Fork measurement (block 52335751, 0.05 ETH batch, bountyBps 50): honest batch retires 6.1965 t; with an 8,000 USDC front-run the caller nets +31.20 USDC (on a 125.7 USDC batch) and the project is credited 2.70 t, i.e. 56% of the batch value is lost and ~25% goes to the caller. Profit is positive for front-runs from 500 USDC (+4.79) up to 16,000 USDC (+23.6).

      The ETH is not stolen from the contract, but the regenerative contribution each batch buys is systematically diverted to whoever processes it.

      Fix: enforce a floor on the second leg the way the first leg is floored, e.g. require tonnes >= expectedTonnes * minOutBps / BPS where expectedTonnes is derived from a reference the caller cannot move in one block (Aerodrome pool quote(USDC, held, granularity) TWAP fed into getRetirementQuoteForKvcmIn, or a kVCM/USD reference), and revert (keep the ETH) when the live quote is below it.

      Alternatively settle the retirement in kVCM bought through a venue with its own oracle floor.

      Fork Base at 52335751 (test/scratch/Probe.fork.t.sol, test_sandwichSearch): deposit 0.05 ETH for project 1; attacker transfers 8,000 USDC to the Aerodrome pool and swaps for kVCM; keeper calls router.process(1, pot); attacker sells the kVCM back.

      Expected: the caller cannot profit from moving the retirement price, and the batch retires about 6.20 t.

      Actual: attacker USDC +31.20, project credited 2.700308 t.

      Non-fork proof: test/scratch/RegenRouterKvcmLegSandwich.t.sol reproduces the same pool with a CPMM mock (reserves copied from the fork, 702 kVCM/t) and asserts the caller ends with no more USDC than it started with; on this code it fails with 8,039.51 USDC > 8,000 USDC and 2.70 t retired instead of 6.20 t.

    • mediumFixed credit order with no fallback when a live-quoted credit reverts on retirement: one failing credit token halts process() for every projectsrc/regen/RegenRouter.sol:179

      _firstLiveCredit() picks the first of creditA/B/C whose one-dollar quote returns non-zero tonnes, wrapped in try/catch.

      The retirement itself is not guarded: if retireCreditViaKlima reverts for that credit (paused or delisted token, class vault short of that credit while the quote path still prices it, the liquid-supply rate limiter that the quote only reports via UpdateLiquidSupplyRateLimiterParams but the retire path enforces, or a quote/retire divergence inside the diamond), process() reverts and the other two credits are never attempted.

      Since the three addresses and their order are immutable and there is no owner, the entire router (all projects, all depositors) is stuck until Klima changes the state of that one token. No ETH is lost (balances stay credited), but the rail stops.

      Fix: on a retire revert for the chosen credit, fall through to the next credit (try/catch around the retirement, or iterate candidates until one retires), and emit Skipped when none does so the ETH stays.

      test/scratch/NoFallback.t.sol: mock aggregator whose quote prices creditA at 22 USDC/t but whose retireCreditViaKlima reverts "Paused" for creditA and succeeds for creditB/C.

      Register projects 1 and 2, deposit 0.05 ETH each, call process(1, depositor) and process(2, depositor).

      Expected: the batch retires via creditB (or is Skipped and the ETH stays).

      Actual: both calls revert "Paused"; agg.retired() == 0; nothing can be processed for any project until the aggregator changes.

    • lowName uniqueness is byte-exact: case and inner-whitespace look-alikes of a registered name are accepted with a different beneficiarysrc/regen/RegenRegistry.sol:43

      The registry comments say a second "IMDO" would "confuse every reader of the retirement log", and uniqueness is the reason the name is validated at all. The check is a hash of the exact bytes, so "imdo", "Imdo", "IMDO " is rejected (trailing space) but "IM DO", "IMDO.", "IMDO (official)" and double inner spaces "IM DO" all register as new projects with any beneficiary.

      The retirement message and beneficiaryString written to Klima then carry a name an indexer or human reads as the same project while the beneficiary differs.

      Fix: normalise before hashing (lowercase, collapse runs of spaces) or restrict the charset so no visually equivalent variant exists; keep the stored name as entered.

      reg.register("IMDO", REGEN, safeA) returns 1; reg.register("imdo", REGEN, attacker) returns 2 (the repo test test_nameIsUniqueCaseSensitive asserts exactly this); reg.register("IM DO", REGEN, attacker) returns 3.

      Expected per the stated goal: NameTaken(1).

      Actual: three projects whose retirement messages read "name:IMDO", "name:imdo", "name:IM DO" with different beneficiaries.

    • lowRegistration is first-come with no reservation: the IMDO name can be squatted before the project registers, and a wrong regen address can never be correctedsrc/regen/RegenRegistry.sol:36

      Anyone may register any name with any beneficiary and any charset-valid regen address, and there is no update or delete.

      Two consequences: (1) if the registry is deployed in one transaction and "IMDO" registered in a later one, a watcher can take "IMDO" with their own beneficiary and the real project must use another name for the life of the registry; (2) a project that registers with a mistyped regen address (the bech32 checksum is not verified on chain, by design) can never fix it, its name is burned, and every retirement for that id names an address nobody controls.

      Mitigation within the design: register the first projects in the same transaction as the registry deployment (deploy script), and document that the regen address must be checksum-verified off chain before the registration transaction is sent.

      Deploy RegenRegistry; before the project calls register("IMDO", ...), another account calls register("IMDO", "regen1qpzry9x8gf2tvdw0s3jn54khce6mua7lqpzry9", attacker).

      Expected: the project owns the name "IMDO".

      Actual: the project gets NameTaken(1) and id 1 with beneficiary=attacker is permanent.

      Likewise register("IMDO", , safe) succeeds and cannot be changed.

    • lowOffsetsForwarder and ImdoTreasury reference each other through immutables: the forwarder cannot take the offsetsSafe seat unless its address is precomputed, and the rehearsal script seats a Safe instesrc/regen/OffsetsForwarder.sol:35

      ImdoTreasury.payOffsets() pays only offsetsSafe, an immutable set in the treasury constructor, and the forwarder requires a non-zero treasury in its own constructor.

      Whichever is deployed second must be given the address of the one deployed first, so the forwarder can only be the seat if the treasury is constructed with the forwarder address precomputed (CREATE nonce or CREATE2), or the forwarder is deployed first against a precomputed treasury address. script/rehearse-mainnet.sh sets OFFSETS=0xb41E9b47...

      (a Safe, the same address as REGEN) and script/DeployImdo.s.sol passes it straight into the treasury, so as rehearsed the forwarder is not the offsetsSafe and forward() would do nothing for the treasury leg: payOffsets() reverts Unauthorized inside the try/catch, the balance is 0, and the call reverts NothingToForward.

      Nothing in the treasury can brick a correctly seated forwarder: payOffsets is nonReentrant, pays by a plain call that the empty receive() accepts, and a reverting pull is swallowed.

      Fix: in the deploy script compute the forwarder address ahead of the treasury (as DeployImdo already does for expectedClaim) and assert treasury.offsetsSafe() == address(forwarder) after deployment; or relax the forwarder constructor to accept a precomputed treasury address and assert the pairing in a post-deploy check.

      Deploy ImdoTreasury with offsetsSafe = S (a Safe).

      Deploy OffsetsForwarder(treasury, bridge, receiver, 100000); its address F != S.

      Fund the treasury so offsetsOwed > 0.

      Call F.forward().

      Expected: the offsets leg is pulled and bridged.

      Actual: treasury.payOffsets() reverts Unauthorized (caught), address(F).balance == 0, forward() reverts NothingToForward; the offsets leg stays claimable only by S.

    • lowFlooring to 1e-6 t does not always leave slack for the aggregator rounding its USDC requirement up: some batches revert SlippageExceeded by one micro-USDCsrc/regen/RegenRouter.sol:176

      The router quotes tonnes for exactly held USDC, floors to a 1e12 step and then retires with maxInputTokenIn = held. The real aggregator computes the USDC it needs for the floored tonnes with a round-up (the fork quote for held = 50,172,058 already reports retirementPrice 50,172,059).

      The flooring removes between 0 and one 1e-6 t step, worth about 20 micro-USDC at the fork price, so when the removed fraction is small the requirement exceeds held by 1 micro-USDC and retireCreditViaKlima reverts SlippageExceeded(required, held). A sweep of 40 batch sizes on Base 52335751 hit this once (2.5%).

      The revert is deterministic for a given pool state and depositor balance (ethIn is fixed at min(balance, maxBatch)), so the batch cannot be processed until the WETH/USDC or USDC/kVCM pool moves enough to change held; a keeper that already paid for the simulation or sent the transaction loses roughly 4M gas. No ETH is lost.

      Fix: leave explicit slack, e.g. quote for held minus a small margin, or after flooring check quoteRetireCreditViaKlima(credit, 0, tonnes, usdc, classVault, 0).retirementPrice <= held and otherwise subtract one more TONNE_STEP; or pass maxInputTokenIn = held while quoting for held - 1e3.

      Fork Base at 52335751 with the fork test configuration (bountyBps 50, minOutBps 9700, maxBatch 0.05 ether, venue fee 500): deposit 16076923077018104 wei for project 1 and call process(1, depositor).

      Expected: a retirement of the floored tonnes with up to 20 micro-USDC left as dust.

      Actual: revert SlippageExceeded(40534313, 40534312) (selector 0x71c4efed) from the aggregator, because the floored tonnes cost one micro-USDC more than the 40,534,312 USDC-wei held. test/scratch/Probe.fork.t.sol RoundingSweep.test_sweepBatchSizes logs the failing amount.

    • infominGasLimit is not validated: a zero or tiny value makes every bridged leg fail its first L2 relay and depend on a manual replaysrc/regen/OffsetsForwarder.sol:41

      The constructor accepts any uint32 including 0. With the OP Stack bridge the ETH is not lost: a relay that runs out of gas is recorded in L2CrossDomainMessenger.failedMessages and anyone can call relayMessage again with more gas. But the value is immutable, so a too-small value means every single forward() needs a manual replay on Base before the receiver sees the ETH. finalizeBridgeETH plus the receiver's empty receive() needs on the order of 50-60k gas on L2.

      Fix: require minGasLimit_ >= a floor (e.g. 100_000, the value the unit tests use) in the constructor, and document the replay procedure.

      new OffsetsForwarder(treasury, L1StandardBridge, receiver, 0) deploys.

      Each forward() emits the deposit with _minGasLimit = 0; on Base the sequencer relay of finalizeBridgeETH fails for lack of gas and the ETH sits in the L2 messenger until someone replays the message.

      Expected: the constructor rejects a limit that cannot execute finalizeBridgeETH.

    • infoOracle staleness check reverts instead of skipping on a future updatedAt and ignores round completeness and the Base sequencer uptime feedsrc/regen/RegenRouter.sol:243

      Decimals (ETH 1e18 x feed 1e8 / 1e20 -> USDC 1e6) and the negative/zero/age handling are correct, and the fork run shows the honest V3 fill 0.07% under Chainlink.

      Three small gaps: (1) if updatedAt > block.timestamp the subtraction underflows and process() reverts rather than emitting Skipped("feedStale"); (2) answeredInRound/roundId are not compared, which Chainlink no longer requires on OCR feeds but costs nothing; (3) Chainlink recommends consulting the L2 Sequencer Uptime Feed on Base; after a sequencer outage shorter than maxFeedAge the last pre-outage answer is accepted.

      None of these moves value given the 97% floor and the 0.05 ETH cap; recorded for completeness.

      MockFeed.set(2500e8, block.timestamp + 1); router.process(1, depositor).

      Expected: Skipped("feedStale") and the ETH stays.

      Actual: the call reverts with an arithmetic underflow (panic 0x11).

      A feed that returns updatedAt in the future is not a realistic Chainlink state, so this is informational.

    • infoBounty does not cover process() gas at the lower end of the batch range, so small balances rely on the project processing itselfsrc/regen/RegenRouter.sol:170

      A real process() on the Base fork costs about 4.0M gas (quote x2, V3 swap, aggregator retirement through the Klima diamond). With minBatch 0.001 ETH and bountyBps in the tens, the bounty is 0.00001 to 0.00005 ETH; at a Base base fee of 0.01 to 0.05 gwei the call costs 0.00004 to 0.0002 ETH, so batches below roughly 0.01 to 0.05 ETH are not worth a third-party keeper's gas and a depositor remainder under maxBatch can wait indefinitely.

      Conversely the bounty cannot be farmed: a 0.001 ETH deposit yields a bounty of at most a few ten-thousandths of the deposit while 99%+ of it is retired, so the farmer always loses. Sizing against liquidity is fine: the WETH/USDC 0.05% V3 pool held 3.2M USDC at the fork block and a 0.05 ETH batch moves it by far less than the 3% floor; the Aerodrome USDC/kVCM pool at ~15k USDC is the thin one (see the high finding).

      Fork Base 52335751, deposit 0.001 ETH, process(): gas used ~4.0M (see the fork test gas report: process(1, ...)

      3,987,207 gas).

      Bounty at 50 bps = 0.000005 ETH; gas at 0.02 gwei = 0.00008 ETH.

      Expected per the design ("the caller earns bountyBps of the batch"): a positive keeper margin.

      Actual: negative at minBatch; only batches near maxBatch pay a keeper.

    The suite count is 161, not 163, because the default profile excludes the two fork tests. Since the RPC was blocked, the Klima aggregator's live behaviour (argument semantics, capping versus reverting on short supply, rate limiter) could not be confirmed on chain. The interface argument order matches the vendored interface declaration, and the project's own fork test asserts the emitted RetireDetails, but I could not re-run it.

    Findings

    • Medium, RegenRouter.sol:173. The credit-token liveness probe quotes one dollar, but the batch retires all USDC held. When the chosen token can absorb at least $1 but less than the batch (a token running dry, or the aggregator's forward-balance / rate limit), the retirement spends only part of held and up to a full batch of USDC stays in the router unattributed. The next process for any project retires it under that project's beneficiary and regen address. An attacker with a 0.001 ETH deposit on their own project captured about 50 USDC of project 1's contribution in the proof. If the real aggregator reverts instead of capping, the same mismatch makes every process revert until the token's supply changes. Fix: fall through to the next credit token or revert when the quote cannot absorb held, or keep a per-project USDC carry.
    • Low, RegenRouter.sol:155. Remainders below minBatch are stranded per (project, depositor) forever unless the same address deposits again. A forfeited bounty (keeper contract without receive) is re-credited into the same stranded remainder. Verified with concrete amounts.
    • Low, RegenRegistry.sol:43. Name uniqueness is byte-exact. "imdo", "Imdo", "I M D O" and "IMDO (official)" all register alongside "IMDO" with different beneficiaries, defeating the contract's stated reason for uniqueness. Only trailing or leading spaces are rejected.
    • Low, OffsetsForwarder.sol:41. minGasLimit is unbounded. A value above about 19.5M gas makes the L1 portal reject every deposit, so forward() reverts forever and the treasury's immutable Offsets leg can never be pulled. A value of 0 forces a manual replay on Base for every finalisation. Not reproducible locally beyond the constructor accepting both extremes.
    • Info, RegenRouter.sol:243. A feed updatedAt in the future reverts with an arithmetic panic rather than emitting Skipped. The Chainlink min/max answer clamp is also unhandled, which would turn into SwapShort reverts during an extreme move. Liveness only.
    • Info, UniswapV3Venue.sol:41. The venue only rejects WETH as output; it does not pin the configured token the spec describes. No fund impact since the venue holds nothing.

    Review questions with no defect found

    • ETH exits. ETH leaves the router only through the immutable venue swap and the bounty call. Router ETH balance equals the sum of balances (the fuzz test and my reading agree). Forced ETH via same-transaction selfdestruct would only strand a donation. USDC can only be pulled by the aggregator up to held; credits never touch the router. The aggregator is an upgradeable diamond controlled by Klima, which is a trust assumption worth documenting.
    • Reentrancy. process is non-reentrant and all state writes precede the bounty call. Reentering deposit from the venue, aggregator or bounty receiver only adds balance, and the forfeit path uses an increment rather than a cached write, so no stale overwrite is poss

    • mediumUSDC left over from one project's batch is retired under the next processed project: the $1 liveness probe does not match the batch sizesrc/regen/RegenRouter.sol:173

      _firstLiveCredit() (RegenRouter.sol:257-273) selects the first credit token the aggregator will quote a non-zero tonne for at 1e6 USDC (one dollar). process() then quotes tonnes for ALL USDC held (line 175), floors to TONNE_STEP and retires with maxInputTokenIn = held. The contract's model (comment at lines 33-35, test test_dustCarriesToTheNextBatch) is that the leftover USDC is under one tonne step (about 22 micro-USDC at $22/t).

      That only holds when the chosen credit token can absorb the whole batch.

      When the token can absorb at least $1 but less than held (a credit token running dry, which the A/B/C fall-through explicitly anticipates, or a daily forward-balance / liquid-supply rate limit, which the aggregator's DiscountedForwardBalanceContext.amountUsedForSwapQuote and UpdateLiquidSupplyRateLimiterParams return values indicate it applies), the aggregator quotes a capped tonne amount, the retirement spends only part of held, and the remainder, up to the full batch (~$125 at maxBatch 0.05 ETH), stays in the router with no per-project attribution.

      The next process() call for ANY project (the attacker can register one and deposit minBatch = 0.001 ETH) selects the next credit token and retires the leftover plus its own ~$2.5 with the attacker's beneficiary, name and regen address in the RetireDetails and the retirement message; retiredOf[attackerProject] and the Regen indexer credit it to the attacker.

      Project 1's ETH was debited and its Processed event reports usdcSpent far below usdcBought, but its contribution is permanently misattributed. Attribution with the project as beneficiary is the stated purpose of the rail.

      If instead the real aggregator reverts the quote for an amount above the available supply (the quote at line 175 is not in try/catch), every process() for every project reverts until that token's supply changes externally, a liveness failure of the whole router caused by the same probe/batch mismatch.

      Fix (preserving design): use the quote's second return (tokenAmount actually usable) or compare spent against held after the retirement, and when the chosen token cannot absorb (held - epsilon), fall through to the next credit token in the same call, or revert the batch (ETH stays credited); alternatively keep a per-project USDC carry so leftover can only be retired for the project that paid for it.

      Severity is medium rather than high because no ETH or USDC leaves the system and the precondition is a supply/rate cap on the aggregator side, which cannot be verified offline (Base RPC blocked in this run).

      State: creditA has 0.1 t left ($2.20 at $22/t), creditB/creditC have supply; the aggregator caps a quote to the available supply (same semantics as the project's own MockAggregator in test/unit/RegenRouter.t.sol lines 135-136).

      Project 1 (beneficiary victimSafe) deposits 0.02 ETH; process(1, depositor) with bountyBps 50 swaps 0.0199 ETH -> 49.75 USDC, probe passes on creditA ($1 < $2.20), quote(49.75 USDC) is capped to 0.1 t, retirement pulls 2.20 USDC, 47.55 USDC remains in the router.

      Attacker registers project 2 (beneficiary attacker), deposits 0.001 ETH, calls process(2, attacker): probe now falls to creditB, held = 47.55 + 2.4875 = 50.0375 USDC, retires 2.274431 t with beneficiaryAddress = attacker.

      Expected: project 2's retirement is paid only by project 2's 2.4875 USDC (<= 2487501 micro-USDC).

      Actual: aggregator pulls 50,037,482 micro-USDC for the attacker's project; retiredOf[2] = 2.274431e18 while retiredOf[1] = 0.1e18.

      Foundry: test/scratch/RegenRouterLeftoverAttribution.t.sol fails with '50037482 > 2487501'.

    • lowRemainders below minBatch, including forfeited bounties, are stranded per (project, depositor) with no way outsrc/regen/RegenRouter.sol:155

      process() takes min(balance, maxBatch) and refuses any balance under minBatch, and nothing else can move a balance: there is no withdrawal, no merge across depositors, and no way to process a sub-minimum remainder. Whenever balance mod maxBatch lands in (0, minBatch), the last slice is stuck until the SAME depositor address deposits again for the SAME project.

      A bridge receiver tops itself up, but a direct depositor (a Safe making a one-off contribution, which the contract's own doc comment names as a use case) loses up to minBatch - 1 wei (about $2.5 at the intended 0.001 ETH) permanently.

      The bounty-forfeit path (line 210) makes it worse: a keeper contract that cannot take ETH re-credits bountyBps of the batch (0.00025 ETH at 50 bps and maxBatch 0.05) into the depositor's balance, which is itself below minBatch and therefore stranded.

      Seam: boundary (minBatch) x invariant (every deposited wei is eventually retired). Fix options that preserve the design: allow a balance below minBatch to be processed when it is a remainder (e.g. let process() accept balance < minBatch if the caller waives the bounty, or let a depositor-signed call fold the remainder into another depositor's balance for the same project), or at least document the loss bound.

      minBatch 0.001 ether, maxBatch 0.05 ether, bountyBps 50.

      Depositor deposits 0.0505 ETH for project 1; an EOA keeper calls process(1, depositor): ethIn = 0.05, remainder 0.0005 ETH.

      Expected: the remainder is eventually retirable.

      Actual: process(1, depositor) reverts BelowMinBatch(0.0005 ether, 0.001 ether) forever unless the same depositor deposits again.

      Second case: depositor tops up to 0.05 ETH, a contract without receive() calls process(): bounty 0.00025 ETH is forfeited back into balanceOf[1][depositor]; process() then reverts BelowMinBatch(0.00025 ether, 0.001 ether).

      Verified in test/scratch/RegenMathChecks.t.sol::test_remainderBelowMinBatchIsStuck (passes, i.e. the behaviour is as described).

    • lowRegistry uniqueness is byte-exact: case and interior-space variants of a taken name register, defeating the stated purpose of the uniqueness rulesrc/regen/RegenRegistry.sol:43

      The registry's own doc comment (lines 12-13) says names are unique so that 'a second IMDO would carry a different beneficiary and confuse every reader of the retirement log'. Uniqueness is enforced on keccak256 of the raw bytes, so 'imdo', 'Imdo', 'I M D O', 'IMDO (official)' and 'IMD0' are all distinct names and each can be registered by anyone with their own beneficiary and regen address.

      Since registration is permissionless and irreversible, a squatter can pre-register the obvious variants of a project's name before the project does, or register look-alikes after, and every retirement record for those projects carries a beneficiaryString and a message name field that a human reader of the Klima/Regen retirement log will take for the original.

      The on-chain fields that disambiguate (project id, beneficiary address) are present, so this is a reader-confusion issue, not a fund-safety one.

      Fix: compare a normalised key (lowercase ASCII, collapse runs of spaces) in idByName while storing the display name as given; this keeps grammar v1 unchanged.

      register('IMDO', regen, safe) returns 1.

      Then register('imdo', regen, x), register('Imdo', regen, y), register('I M D O', regen, z), register('IMDO (official)', regen, w) all succeed (count = 5), while only 'IMDO ' (trailing space) is rejected with BadName.

      Expected per the contract's own rationale: the variants collide with id 1 (NameTaken(1)).

      Actual: five projects named IMDO-alikes with five beneficiaries.

      Verified in test/scratch/RegenMathChecks.t.sol::test_nameCaseAndSpacingVariantsAreNotCollisions.

    • lowOffsetsForwarder accepts any minGasLimit; a value above the OP Stack resource limit makes forward() revert forever and strands the treasury's Offsets legsrc/regen/OffsetsForwarder.sol:41

      minGasLimit is a uint32 immutable with no bounds check. It is passed to L1StandardBridge.depositETHTo -> L1CrossDomainMessenger.sendMessage, whose baseGas() adds overhead and multiplies by 64/63 before OptimismPortal.depositTransaction meters it against the Superchain resource config (maxResourceLimit = 20,000,000 gas). Any minGasLimit above roughly 19.5M (uint32 allows up to 4,294,967,295) makes every depositETHTo revert on L1, so forward() reverts on every call.

      Because ImdoTreasury.offsetsSafe is immutable and payOffsets() pays only that address, the whole Offsets leg (25% of every processed fee, per launch.json) becomes unpullable with no recovery path on either side. At the other end, minGasLimit = 0 (also accepted) makes every L2 finalisation fail its gas check and require a manual, permissionless relayMessage replay on Base before the receiver gets the ETH, which contradicts the 'nothing can be stranded' comment.

      A one-line constructor bound (e.g. 50_000 <= minGasLimit_ <= 1_000_000) removes a deployment foot-gun on a contract that has no second chance. Not reproducible locally beyond the constructor accepting the values: the OP Stack contracts are not vendored and the network is blocked in this run.

      new OffsetsForwarder(treasury, L1StandardBridge, receiver, type(uint32).max) and new OffsetsForwarder(treasury, L1StandardBridge, receiver, 0) both deploy (test/scratch/RegenMathChecks.t.sol::test_forwarderAcceptsAnyMinGasLimit). On Ethereum mainnet, forward() on the first instance calls depositETHTo(receiver, 4294967295, '') -> messenger baseGas ~4.36e9 > 20,000,000 -> OptimismPortal reverts 'ResourceMetering: cannot buy more gas than available gas limit' on every call; expected: ETH bridged; actual: forward() can never succeed and the treasury's offsetsOwed can never be paid out.

    • infoA feed updatedAt in the future makes process() revert with a checked-arithmetic panic instead of emitting Skippedsrc/regen/RegenRouter.sol:243

      _ethUsd() is documented to return 0 'when stale or nonsense' so that process() skips rather than reverts. If updatedAt > block.timestamp the subtraction underflows and process() reverts with Panic(0x11). Chainlink's ETH/USD proxy on Base takes updatedAt from the update transaction's block timestamp, so this needs a misbehaving or replaced feed; the consequence is a revert instead of a skip (no funds move either way).

      Also not handled: the Chainlink aggregator's minAnswer/maxAnswer clamp. If ETH trades below minAnswer the feed reports minAnswer, minUsdcOut demands more USDC than any pool pays, and process() reverts SwapShort (not Skipped) until the market recovers; ETH stays credited. Both are liveness-only.

      Fix: updatedAt > block.timestamp || block.timestamp - updatedAt > maxFeedAge.

      Feed returns (1, 2500e8, t+1, t+1, 1) with block.timestamp = t; depositor has 0.01 ETH credited.

      Expected: Skipped(1, depositor, 'feedStale') and return.

      Actual: process(1, depositor) reverts (arithmetic underflow). test/scratch/RegenMathChecks.t.sol::test_futureUpdatedAtRevertsInsteadOfSkipping.

    • infoUniswapV3Venue does not pin the output token; WrongToken only rejects WETH, unlike the specsrc/regen/UniswapV3Venue.sol:41

      The brief says the venue 'reverts WrongToken for anything but the configured token path'. The contract has no configured output token: it swaps WETH to any token through the fee tier given at construction and only refuses token == weth. The router always passes its immutable usdc, and the venue holds nothing and delivers to to, so there is no fund impact; anyone can use the venue as a generic WETH->X swapper, which is harmless.

      Either the spec or the constructor (add a token immutable and check it) should be aligned. Noted so the documented guarantee matches the code.

      venue.swapEthToToken{value: 1 ether}(anyErc20WithAWethPoolAtFee, 0, to) succeeds for any token that is not WETH; only swapEthToToken(weth, ...) reverts WrongToken. Expected per spec: revert for every token other than the configured one.

  4. Audit economicsAgent #1484found 1 high, 2 low, 4 info

    Review complete. The findings are in .imd-findings.json (seven entries, one high with a Foundry proof), and the tree is untouched apart from that file and scratch tests. Git status shows no tracked changes.

    Headline finding (high). The retirement leg inside process() has no price floor. The router guards ETH→USDC to 97% of Chainlink, but then spends all held USDC for whatever tonnes the aggregator quotes. Klima's RetireFacet source, pulled from Sourcify, prices kVCM off the spot reserves of one Aerodrome volatile pool in both the quote and the retire. Since process is permissionless, the attacker is the keeper. In one transaction it pumps that pool, processes every pending batch, collects the bounty, and unwinds.

    Measurement (Base fork, block 52486903)Value
    Aerodrome USDC/kVCM pool depth15,768 USDC / 521,302 kVCM, 30 bps fee
    Fair tonnes for five 0.05 ETH batches28.50 t
    Tonnes retired under the sandwich7.29 t
    Attacker USDC profit, one transaction+402 USDC plus the bounty

    A single maxBatch batch is already profitable at this pool depth. The NatSpec claim that nothing can take more than 3% of a batch is false for this leg. The proof under test/scratch/RegenKvcmSandwich.t.sol is fork-free, mirrors the live pool shape, and fails on the current code. Suggested fix: an immutable tonnes-per-dollar floor checked before retiring, with a Skipped event instead of spending.

    Other findings.

    • Low: the liveness probe quotes 1 USDC while the batch quotes all held USDC. A credit left with a sub-microtonne remainder makes every process revert NothingRetired with no fall-through. Scratch test fails on this code.
    • Low: OffsetsForwarder and ImdoTreasury reference each other through immutables, and the deploy script takes offsetsSafe as a plain input. Nothing today produces a forwarder seated as offsetsSafe without hand-predicted addresses.
    • Info: immutable Klima dependency with no exit, venue does not pin its output token, registry names are unique only byte-for-byte, forwarder gas limit unbounded.

    Answers to the review questions where no defect was found. ETH cannot leave the router except as swap input, bounty, or re-credited balance. Reentrancy is blocked by nonReentrant and the bounty is paid last. The oracle floor decimals are correct. Stale, zero, and negative feed answers skip safely. Aggregator argument order and semantics match Klima's source, and the retire path pulls only the USDC it needs. The grammar cannot be broken by any registrable name. CREATE2 prediction is correct and receivers cannot be redirected. The OP Stack bridge accepts contract callers and failed relays are replayable, so bridged ETH is not lost. The forwarder works as the offsetsSafe seat and payOffsets cannot re-enter or brick it.

    Checks run. forge test: 161 offline tests pass. forge fmt --check passes. The Tenderly RPC returned 429, so I ran a copy of the two fork tests against Base's public RPC at the pinned block and both pass.

    • highprocess() has no floor on the USDC->kVCM->credit leg: the Aerodrome kVCM pool can be sandwiched in one transaction and most of a batch extractedsrc/regen/RegenRouter.sol:174

      The router protects only the first leg (ETH->USDC is held to 97% of Chainlink). The second leg is unprotected: it asks the aggregator how many tonnes held USDC buys, then retires exactly that with maxInputTokenIn = held.

      Klima's RetireFacet (Sourcify exact match for the Base diamond 0xdA0A79.., facet 0xcc4f3a..) prices kVCM off the SPOT reserves of one Aerodrome volatile pool: the quote uses LibAerodrome.getAmountOut(usdc) and the retire uses LibAerodrome.getAmountIn(kvcmNeeded), both reading pool.getReserves() in the same block. Nothing in the router compares tonnes-per-dollar to any reference, so whatever the pool says at that instant is accepted and ALL held USDC is spent.

      Because process is permissionless the attacker is the keeper: in one transaction it (1) buys kVCM in the Aerodrome pool 0x5C0D76fab1822bDeb47308eD6028231761ED723E, (2) calls process for every (project, depositor) with a balance, repeatedly until each is under minBatch, collecting the bounty, (3) sells the kVCM back. The router's USDC enters the pool at the inflated price and is recovered by the attacker's unwind.

      Live Base state read 2026-10-12: the pool holds 521,302 kVCM against 15,768 USDC at a 30 bps fee, i.e. about $15.8k of depth, and credit C02-004 quotes ~$21.3/t (0.0469 t per USDC).

      Pumping with one pool's worth of USDC (~$15.8k, price x4) costs ~$95 in pool fees round-trip and takes 75% of every batch processed in that state; a single maxBatch of 0.05 ETH ($126) is already profitable, and accumulated pending balances (the treasury's offsets leg bridges continuously, nobody is obliged to process promptly) make it strictly better.

      The NatSpec claim at lines 29-32 that an attacker 'can never take more than (10000 - minOutBps) of a batch' is therefore false: the ceiling only bounds the first leg. The proof mirrors the live pool shape with a Klima-faithful mock (same two Aerodrome formulas, 30 bps, 704 kVCM/t): with 0.25 ETH pending in five batches, the attacker turns 15,768 USDC into 16,188.56 USDC (+$420.56) plus the bounty, and the router retires 7.170 t instead of 28.095 t.

      Fix (minimal, preserves the ownerless design): give the router an immutable reference for the second leg and refuse/skip when it is violated, e.g. an immutable maxUsdcPerTonne (or minTonnesPerUsdc) checked as tonnes * 1e6 / held >= floor, or compute the pool's implied kVCM price from aggregator.quoteRetireCreditViaKlima(credit,0,1e18,usdc,...) versus an immutable ceiling, emitting Skipped('priceOff') so the ETH waits rather than being spent.

      A TWAP of the Aerodrome pool would also work but is more code.

      Confirmed against the real aggregator on a Base fork at block 52486903 (public RPC, test/scratch/RegenSandwichFork.t.sol, run with FOUNDRY_PROFILE=fork): pool 521,302.45 kVCM / 15,768.41 USDC; fair outcome for five 0.05 ETH batches 28.495153 t; under the one-transaction sandwich the router retired 7.292194 t and the attacker's USDC went 15,768.411269 -> 16,170.695732 (+402.28 USDC) plus 0.0005 ETH bounty, with 51 micro-USDC left in the router.

      State: Aerodrome USDC/kVCM pool 521,302 kVCM / 15,768 USDC (live Base 2026-10-12), fee 30 bps, credit price ~704 kVCM per tonne, router minBatch 0.001 ETH, maxBatch 0.05 ETH, bountyBps 20, minOutBps 9700, Chainlink 2500e8.

      Depositor deposits 0.25 ETH for project 1.

      Attacker contract, in ONE transaction: swap 15,768 USDC -> kVCM in the pool; call router.process(1, depositor) five times (each takes 0.05 ETH, swaps 0.0499 ETH -> 124.75 USDC at the honest oracle rate, then retires at the manipulated kVCM price); swap all kVCM back to USDC.

      Expected: the router retires ~28.09 t for ~$623 of USDC (fair quote in the same block) and no third party can profit from calling process beyond the bounty.

      Actual: router.retiredOf(1) = 7.170459 t (25.5% of fair); attacker USDC 15,768.000000 -> 16,188.559301 (+420.56 USDC profit) plus 0.0005 ETH bounty; all 623.75 USDC left the router.

      Run: forge test --match-path test/scratch/RegenKvcmSandwich.t.sol -vv (fails on this code with 'attacker profited from the router's unprotected kVCM leg: 16188559301 > 15768000000').

    • low_firstLiveCredit probes with 1 USDC but the batch is quoted with `held`: a credit left with a sub-TONNE_STEP remainder makes every process() revert NothingRetired instead of falling through to the nexsrc/regen/RegenRouter.sol:261

      The liveness probe asks whether one dollar buys a non-zero tonne from each credit, then the real quote for held is taken outside any try/catch and floored to TONNE_STEP (1e12) with a hard revert on zero (lines 174-177).

      The two can disagree: if the chosen credit's remaining liquid supply is non-zero but below 1e-6 t (quotes cap at remaining supply; the live Klima quote caps rather than reverts, e.g. 1e12 USDC quotes 784.75 t), the probe returns tonnes != 0, the batch quote returns < 1e12, the floor makes it 0 and process reverts NothingRetired for every project and depositor, although credits B and C are fully stocked.

      The same shape applies to any state where the 1 USDC quote succeeds and the held quote reverts. Nobody can clear it from the router side: the ETH stays in balanceOf until some third party changes credit A's remainder on Klima. Today credit C02-004 has ~6,164 t liquid, so reaching the state requires an external retirer to take the class down to a micro-tonne remainder; realistic only near sell-out or as a deliberate (expensive) grief, hence low.

      Fix: run the real held quote per credit in fixed order inside try/catch and take the first whose floored tonnes is non-zero (or probe with minUsdcOut(ethIn - bounty, price) instead of 1e6), and emit Skipped('classEmpty') rather than reverting when none qualifies.

      Using the supply-capping aggregator model from test/unit/RegenRouter.t.sol: setCredit(creditA, 5e11), setCredit(creditB, 1000e18), setCredit(creditC, 1000e18); deposit 0.05 ETH for project 1; call process(1, depositor).

      Expected: credit A is treated as exhausted and 5.6 t of credit B are retired.

      Actual: revert NothingRetired(); repeats for every caller, project and depositor while A's remainder stays below 1e12.

      Run: forge test --match-path test/scratch/RegenProbeMismatch.t.sol (fails with NothingRetired()).

    • lowOffsetsForwarder and ImdoTreasury reference each other through immutables; the deploy script takes offsetsSafe as a plain input, so there is no supported path that produces a forwarder seated as offsesrc/regen/OffsetsForwarder.sol:38

      OffsetsForwarder's constructor needs the treasury address (immutable, non-zero checked) and ImdoTreasury's constructor needs offsetsSafe (immutable, non-zero checked, src/ImdoTreasury.sol:138).

      Neither has a setter, so the pair can only be wired by predicting one address before the other exists. script/DeployImdo.s.sol (lines 93-110) deploys the treasury with c.offsetsSafe passed in from config and has no step that deploys an OffsetsForwarder or predicts its address; docs/DEPLOYMENT.md still describes offsetsSafe as 'Safe responsible for ecological-credit retirement'.

      If the treasury is deployed with a Safe (or any address other than the forwarder), payOffsets() reverts Unauthorized for the forwarder forever (the try/catch at line 48 swallows it), the treasury's 25% offsets leg accrues to a seat the rail never occupies, and forward() only ever bridges ETH sent to it directly. Conversely a forwarder built against a wrong treasury address that is an EOA reverts on the extcodesize check before the try/catch and strands any ETH it holds.

      The receiverOnBase argument has the same deploy-order dependency across chains: it must be RegenReceiverFactory.predict(id) from the factory actually deployed on Base; a wrong value sends every bridged wei to an address nobody controls.

      None of this is checkable on chain; it needs a scripted, nonce-predicted deployment and a documented order (Base: registry, router, venue, factory, register project, predict receiver; Ethereum: predict treasury address, deploy forwarder with it, deploy treasury with the forwarder as offsetsSafe) plus a post-deploy assertion that treasury.offsetsSafe() == forwarder and forwarder.treasury() == treasury.

      Deploy per the existing script with offsetsSafe = any Safe S, then deploy OffsetsForwarder(treasury, bridge, receiver, gas).

      Fund the treasury and call treasury.process() so offsetsOwed > 0.

      Call forwarder.forward(): expected the owed ETH is pulled and bridged; actual payOffsets reverts Unauthorized inside the try/catch and forward() reverts NothingToForward (if the forwarder holds nothing) while offsetsOwed stays with S.

      Equivalent to test/unit/RegenReceiver.t.sol test_onlyTheForwarderCanPullTheLeg with the roles swapped.

    • infoImmutable Klima dependency with no exit: if the aggregator, class vault, credit tokens or the Aerodrome pool are retired or reconfigured by Klima, every ETH already deposited and every future offsets src/regen/RegenRouter.sol:119

      Trust assumption, reported as the brief asks. The aggregator is an EIP-2535 diamond whose owner can replace facets, change C.usdc/C.kvcm/C.usdcKvcmPool via ConfigurationFacet, or delist credits; the credit tokens are ECO-registry tokens (LibEcoCarbon.isValid consults Klima's configured registry). The router hardcodes all of them.

      If all three credits stop quoting, process() emits Skipped('classEmpty') forever and balanceOf keeps the ETH with no withdrawal, and the OffsetsForwarder keeps bridging the treasury's 25% leg into that dead router because the treasury's offsetsSafe is immutable too.

      Separately, each process() hands the diamond a USDC allowance of exactly held and trusts its retire path; a malicious facet upgrade could take held without retiring, so the maximum exposure per call is one batch plus dust.

      Not a code defect given the stated ownerless design, but the project should document that a Klima migration permanently ends the rail and plan the Ethereum-side treasury accordingly (e.g. a forwarder whose receiver can be re-pointed by a timelocked role, or accepting that offsets ETH would then have to stop accruing).

      Mock the aggregator to revert on every quote (equivalent to test/unit/RegenRouter.t.sol test_emptyClassSkipsAndKeepsTheEth with all three credits unsupported): deposit 0.05 ETH, call process(): Skipped('classEmpty'), balance unchanged, no function exists that returns the ETH to the depositor or the project. Expected by design; listed so the dependency is explicit.

    • infoUniswapV3Venue does not pin the output token: the spec's 'reverts WrongToken for anything but the configured token path' is only 'anything but WETH'src/regen/UniswapV3Venue.sol:41

      The venue has no configured token; it swaps WETH into whatever token the caller names at the fixed fee tier. The router always passes its immutable USDC and checks the USDC balance delta itself, so no funds are at risk, and any third party calling the venue spends only their own ETH.

      Reported because the brief describes a token-pinned venue and because a future caller of the same venue (another router) could be pointed at a non-existent WETH/token pool at this fee tier, where SwapRouter02 reverts rather than delivering. If pinning is intended, store token at construction and compare against it.

      venue.swapEthToToken{value: 1 wei}(someOtherToken, 0, to) does not revert WrongToken; it attempts a WETH->someOtherToken swap at the configured fee. Expected per the task description: WrongToken.

    • infoRegistry names are unique only byte-for-byte: 'IMDO', 'imdo', 'IMD0' and 'IM DO' are four distinct projects with four beneficiariessrc/regen/RegenRegistry.sol:67

      validName rejects control characters, non-ASCII, '|', and leading/trailing spaces, so the retirement message grammar cannot be broken (no field separator can be injected, and ':' inside a name does not split the ' | ' separated fields). The checksum of the regen address is not verified, which is fine for the grammar since credits can only be landed by Regen after their own verification.

      What remains is impersonation of a project name towards readers of the retirement log: case variants, O/0 and l/I swaps, and interior double spaces all register. test/unit/RegenRegistry.t.sol test_nameIsUniqueCaseSensitive shows this is intended, so this is a documented limitation rather than a defect; if off-chain readers key on the name, they should key on the id or beneficiary instead, or the registry could fold case and collapse spaces before hashing.

      register('IMDO', R, A) -> 1; register('imdo', R, B) -> 2; register('IMD0', R, C) -> 3; register('IM DO', R, D) -> 4. All succeed; a retirement for project 2 reads 'name:imdo' with beneficiary B.

    • infoOffsetsForwarder does not bound minGasLimit; the receiver and gas value cannot be validated on chain and are the only two ways bridged ETH can be delayed or lostsrc/regen/OffsetsForwarder.sol:41

      Bridge semantics checked against the OP Stack contracts: depositETHTo is not onlyEOA (depositETH is), so a contract caller is fine; a receiver address with no code receives plain ETH; a failed L2 relay is recorded in failedMessages and anyone may replay it with more gas, so a low minGasLimit delays but does not lose ETH; the empty RegenReceiver.receive() needs far less than any sensible value.

      A very large value (above the portal's resource limit, ~20M) would make depositETHTo revert and strand the forwarder's balance, so a sanity bound (e.g. 50_000..1_000_000) in the constructor is cheap insurance. ETH cannot be stranded otherwise: forward() is permissionless, bridges the whole balance, and payOffsets is wrapped in try/catch; the treasury's _pay to the forwarder's empty receive() cannot re-enter.

      new OffsetsForwarder(treasury, bridge, receiver, type(uint32).max) deploys; forward() would then revert in OptimismPortal.depositTransaction for exceeding the resource gas limit, leaving any ETH pulled from the treasury in the forwarder with no other exit. Expected: constructor rejects an unusable gas limit.

    Findings

    • High. No floor on the USDC to credit leg (src/regen/RegenRouter.sol:175). The router protects only ETH to USDC with Chainlink. Tonnes are whatever Klima quotes at the Aerodrome USDC/kVCM spot price in the same transaction, and the retire is given exactly those tonnes with the full USDC as the cap, so it never fails on price. That pool holds about 15.8k USDC at 30 bps. Since process() is permissionless and pays the caller, the attacker is the keeper: buy kVCM, process, sell back in one transaction. Fork measurement: honest batch 6.22 t, sandwiched 0.92 t, attacker ends in profit plus the bounty. Proof fails on this code and passes with any floor that reverts or skips. Suggested fix: bound tonnes per dollar against the Aerodrome time-weighted quote or an oracle.
    • Low. Retire can revert where the liveness quote succeeds (RegenRouter.sol:179). Klima's facet requires its credit balance to equal the retired amount, so 1 wei of the first credit token sent to the diamond blocks every process() call with no fallthrough to the next credit. Confirmed on fork with InvalidAmountReceived. ETH is safe; the rail is offline until Klima sweeps the dust.
    • Low. OffsetsForwarder strands ETH if treasury has no code (OffsetsForwarder.sol:48). The extcodesize check reverts outside the try/catch. Treasury and forwarder reference each other immutably, so one is deployed against a predicted address; a mismatch also locks the treasury's Offsets leg forever. Constructor only rejects zero.
    • Low. Name uniqueness is byte-exact (RegenRegistry.sol:43). "imdo" and "Regen City" register as new projects with other beneficiaries.
    • Low. Bech32 checksum not verified, registrations permanent (RegenRegistry.sol:74). A typo'd regen address registers and burns the unique name.
    • Low. Predictable receiver for an unregistered id (RegenReceiver.sol:54). If the L1 forwarder is fixed before the project's register() lands, a front-runner takes the id and all bridged ETH is retired under their identity. No rail deployment order is documented.

    Questions answered without a finding

    • ETH leaves the router only through the venue swap and the bounty; USDC and credits cannot be extracted. Reentrancy via venue, aggregator, credit token or bounty call is blocked by nonReentrant, and deposit() reentry is harmless.
    • minUsdcOut decimals are correct. Stale, zero and negative answers skip cleanly. Round completeness and the Base sequencer uptime feed are not checked, which is acceptable with a one-hour maxFeedAge.
    • V3 sandwich extraction is capped at 3% of a 0.05 ETH batch, roughly $3.75, and moving the 0.05% WETH/USDC pool that far costs far more. Batch sizing is sound for that leg.
    • Aggregator argument order and semantics match the Sourcify source of the live RetireFacet. Spending less than held leaves dust for the next batch. More tonnes than quoted is impossible. A quote for 1,000,000 USDC returns normally, so USDC donations cannot brick processing.
    • Bounty farming is unprofitable since the bounty comes from the farmer's own deposit. A contract depositor cannot grief, as nothing calls the depositor.
    • CREATE2 prediction is correct and ETH sent to an undeployed receiver survives deployment. depositETHTo has no EOA restriction, and a failed L2 relay is replayable. The forwarder works as offsetsSafe: payOffsets only reverts with reasons the forwarder catches.

    • highprocess() has no floor on the USDC -> credit leg: a one-transaction kVCM sandwich takes most of each batch's retirementsrc/regen/RegenRouter.sol:175

      The router guards only the ETH -> USDC leg (Chainlink floor, minOutBps). The second leg trusts the aggregator's spot quote in the same transaction: tonnes are whatever quoteRetireCreditForInputTokenInViaKlima returns for held, then retireCreditViaKlima is given those tonnes with maxInputTokenIn = held, so the retire can never fail on price and the router accepts any kVCM price.

      Klima's RetireFacet (Sourcify source of 0xcc4f3a842de8e31e71d40ccb5d3ac4cd03eaabd9) converts USDC to kVCM through the Aerodrome volatile pool 0x5C0D76fab1822bDeb47308eD6028231761ED723E (LibAerodrome.getAmountOut / getAmountIn at spot). That pool held about 521,302 kVCM against 15,768 USDC (fee 30 bps) on 2026-10-11, so a 0.05 ETH batch (~125 USDC) is almost 1% of the pool.

      Because process() is permissionless and the caller earns the bounty, the attacker is the keeper: in one transaction (no mempool needed; capital can be flash-loaned) it buys kVCM, calls process(), and sells the kVCM back. The project receives ~15% of the tonnes the batch should have retired and the attacker keeps the difference minus fees.

      Fork measurement at Base block 52335751 (test/scratch/SandwichFork.t.sol): honest batch 6.221 t; sandwiched with 25,000 USDC front-run: 0.915 t retired, attacker USDC 25,000 -> 25,004.00 plus the bounty. Model with the live reserves at the optimal size (~25.8k USDC) gives ~48 USDC profit per 125 USDC batch. The docs' claim that "a sandwich ... can never take more than (10000 - minOutBps) of a batch" holds only for the first leg.

      Every batch can be hit this way, so effectively the whole rail's output is exposed; the loss is to the project's retired credits, not to ETH balances.

      Fix: bound tonnes per dollar against a reference that the attacker cannot move in the same block, e.g. the Aerodrome pool's time-weighted quote (Pool.quote(tokenIn, amountIn, granularity)) or a kVCM/USD oracle, requiring tonnes >= quoteAtReference(held) * minOutBps / BPS, and emit Skipped / revert when it fails; or quote with a fixed-size probe and require the per-dollar rate for held to be within a tolerance of the previous block's rate.

      Base state as at block 52335751 (or the mock in the proof: pool 15,768 USDC / 521,302 kVCM, 30 bps, 700 kVCM per tonne).

      1. depositor deposits 0.05 ETH for project 1.

      2. Attacker contract, holding 25,000 USDC: swap 25,000 USDC -> kVCM on the Aerodrome pool; call router.process(1, depositor); swap all kVCM -> USDC.

      Expected (router's stated invariant): the retirement is held to a fair rate or the batch is skipped.

      Actual: process() succeeds, retiredOf(1) = 0.878 t in the mock (0.915 t on the fork) against 5.834 t (6.221 t) unmanipulated, attacker ends with 25,047.86 USDC (25,004.00 on the fork) plus the 0.00005 ETH bounty.

      Run: forge test --match-path test/scratch/RouterCreditLegNoFloor.t.sol (fails on this code); FOUNDRY_PROFILE=fork forge test --match-path test/scratch/SandwichFork.t.sol for the live numbers.

    • lowLiveness probe is a quote but the retire can still revert: 1 wei of the first credit on the Klima diamond blocks process() with no fallthroughsrc/regen/RegenRouter.sol:179

      _firstLiveCredit() (line 257) picks the first credit whose $1 quote is non-zero and the retire call is not guarded, so any condition under which the quote succeeds but the retire reverts stops process() for every project and depositor until the condition clears, instead of falling through to creditB/creditC or emitting Skipped.

      One such condition is cheap and external: LibRetire.swapCallerTokenForCarbon ends with if (IERC20(creditToken).balanceOf(address(this)) != amount) revert InvalidAmountReceived();, so any pre-existing balance of that credit token on the diamond (a holder transferring 1 wei of C02-004 0xE6628083... to 0xdA0A793D...) makes every USDC retirement of that credit revert.

      Confirmed on a Base fork at block 52335751 (test/scratch/DonationFork.t.sol): after deal(C004, AGG, 1), router.process(1, pot) reverts InvalidAmountReceived(). ETH is not lost (balances untouched) and Klima's owner can sweep the dust (approveToken), but the rail is offline for the duration and nothing in the router can route around it. The same shape applies to a credit paused or delisted between the quote and the retire path.

      Fix: wrap the retire in try/catch and on failure either try the next credit token in order or emit Skipped and leave the batch (ETH, USDC) untouched, mirroring the feedStale/classEmpty paths.

      Fork Base at 52335751, deploy registry+router as in test/fork/RegenRouterBaseFork.t.sol, deposit 0.05 ETH for project 1, then deal(0xE6628083Ab9A9Ab235e80f63e7ecd810B54A71B8, 0xdA0A793D7C32AB80bcdab7F8c725c96DB22464f4, 1).

      Expected: process() retires via C02-003/C02-006 or emits Skipped.

      Actual: process() reverts InvalidAmountReceived() (Klima error 0xf4844814) for every caller.

      FOUNDRY_PROFILE=fork forge test --match-path test/scratch/DonationFork.t.sol -vvvv shows the trace.

    • lowOffsetsForwarder.forward() reverts, stranding its ETH, when `treasury` has no code; the constructor does not check and the treasury/forwarder addresses are mutually immutablesrc/regen/OffsetsForwarder.sol:48

      payOffsets() returns nothing, so Solidity 0.8.26 performs the extcodesize check before the call and that check reverts in the caller, outside the try/catch. If treasury points at an address without code, forward() always reverts and whatever ETH the forwarder holds (sent directly, or bridged-back dust) can never be bridged, contradicting the contract's own comment that nothing can be stranded.

      This matters because ImdoTreasury.offsetsSafe and OffsetsForwarder.treasury are both immutable constructor arguments that reference each other: one of the two must be deployed against a predicted address. The constructor at line 35 only rejects address(0); it accepts a mispredicted treasury address (e.g. a nonce shift in the multi-transaction DeployImdo broadcast that docs/DEPLOYMENT.md already warns about).

      In that case the treasury's Offsets leg is also unreachable forever: payOffsets() is callable only by offsetsSafe (this forwarder), and forward() cannot execute.

      Fix: require treasury_.code.length != 0 and bridge_.code.length != 0 in the constructor (and deploy the forwarder after the treasury, giving the treasury the forwarder's CREATE2-predicted address), or make the pull a low-level call so the extcodesize check cannot block bridging.

      new OffsetsForwarder(IOffsetsSource(address(0xBEEF)), bridge, receiver, 100000) with 0xBEEF having no code; vm.deal(forwarder, 1 ether); forwarder.forward().

      Expected per the @dev comment: bridges 1 ETH.

      Actual: reverts (extcodesize check), bridge receives 0; test/scratch/Leads.t.sol::test_forwarderWithCodelessTreasuryStrandsEth fails with 0 != 1000000000000000000.

    • lowName uniqueness is byte-exact: case and interior-whitespace look-alikes register as separate projects with other beneficiariessrc/regen/RegenRegistry.sol:43

      The contract's stated reason for unique names is that "a second 'IMDO' would carry a different beneficiary and confuse every reader of the retirement log". The check hashes the raw bytes, so "imdo", "Imdo", "IMDO" and "Regen City" (two spaces) versus "Regen City" are all distinct, each with its own beneficiary and regen address, and all appear as beneficiaryString and name: in Klima's AggregatorRetired events and in the Regen-indexed message.

      Anyone can register them permissionlessly, so an impersonating project can be made to look like an existing one in every off-chain reader that is case- or whitespace-insensitive.

      Fix: normalise before hashing (lower-case ASCII, collapse runs of spaces) and reject names whose normalised form is taken, keeping the display name as registered.

      register("IMDO", regenAddr, 0x1) -> 1; register("imdo", regenAddr, 0x2) -> 2 (expected NameTaken(1)); register("Regen City", ...) -> 3; register("Regen City", ..., 0x3) -> 4 (expected NameTaken(3)). test/scratch/Leads.t.sol::test_registryAllowsCaseAndChecksumVariants logs ids 2 and 4.

    • lowRegen address checksum is not verified, and a registration is permanent: a typo burns the project's unique name foreversrc/regen/RegenRegistry.sol:74

      Only the length, the "regen1" prefix and the bech32 charset are checked; the 6-character bech32 checksum is not. Any 38 charset characters pass, so a mistyped or fabricated regen address registers.

      Because there is no update or delete and names are unique, the project's name is then taken permanently by an entry whose regen field no Regen indexer will accept; the project must re-register under another name, and every retirement processed for the broken id carries an unusable regen: field (credits cannot be mirrored to the intended account).

      The comment defers to Regen verifying before "registration is final", but nothing on chain is provisional: deposits and process() work from the moment register() returns.

      Fix: verify the bech32 checksum on chain (polymod over the 5-bit data; ~40 iterations, a few thousand gas) so BadRegenAddress rejects it, or allow the registrant a one-time correction before the first retirement.

      register("Typo", "regen183ht37fsp2fhnq3gneyjycp08c3ju4xnvxnvaq", 0x4) (last character of a valid address changed, checksum invalid).

      Expected: BadRegenAddress.

      Actual: succeeds, id 5 in test/scratch/Leads.t.sol::test_registryAllowsCaseAndChecksumVariants; the name "Typo" is now unavailable and every retirement for id 5 carries the invalid address.

    • lowReceiver addresses are predictable for unregistered ids: an L1 forwarder fixed before the project's register() lets a front-runner capture the whole bridged legsrc/regen/RegenReceiver.sol:54

      Project ids are sequential and register() is permissionless. predict(id) is valid before the id exists (by design, so OffsetsForwarder.receiverOnBase can be fixed first), and deploy() only requires that some project holds the id, not the intended one. OffsetsForwarder.receiverOnBase and ImdoTreasury.offsetsSafe are immutable.

      If the forwarder is deployed on Ethereum (or the treasury funded) before IMDO's register() lands on Base, anyone who registers first takes id 1 with their own name, regen address and beneficiary; every ETH leg bridged thereafter is retired under the attacker's identity and beneficiary, and nothing can redirect it. The tree has no written deployment order for the rail (docs cover only the IMDO launch), and the forwarder constructor cannot check Base state.

      Fix: register the project and deploy its receiver on Base first, record the id, and only then construct the forwarder; or derive the receiver salt from keccak256(name, beneficiary) rather than the sequential id so a predicted address cannot be claimed by a different registration.

      Order: (1) OffsetsForwarder deployed on Ethereum with receiverOnBase = factory.predict(1); (2) attacker calls registry.register("X", regenAddr, attacker) on Base before IMDO's register() -> id 1 is the attacker's; (3) factory.deploy(1) succeeds for the attacker's project; (4) forward() on Ethereum bridges the Offsets leg to predict(1); receiver.forward() credits balanceOf[1][receiver]; process(1, receiver) retires with beneficiary = attacker, name = "X".

      Expected: the leg is retired for IMDO.

      Actual: permanently retired under the attacker's project; the immutable forwarder cannot be repointed.

    Test and format results

    • forge test (default profile, fork tests excluded by config): 161 passed, 0 failed. The task's count of 163 includes the 2 Base fork tests, which also passed when run under the fork profile against the Tenderly RPC.
    • forge fmt --check: clean.
    • The three attached proofs all fail on the current code for the stated reason. Nothing outside test/scratch/ and the findings file was touched, and both are gitignored.

    Kept findings, after reproduction and merging

    • High, RegenRouter.sol:175. No floor on the USDC to kVCM leg. Merged from three specialists. Confirmed on a Base fork at block 52335751 against the real Klima aggregator and Aerodrome pool: an 8k USDC front-run nets the caller about 31 USDC per 0.05 ETH batch and the project is credited 2.70 t instead of 6.20 t. Self-contained proof attached.
    • Medium, RegenRouter.sol:261. The 1 USDC liveness probe disagrees with the batch quote for held. Merged the leftover misattribution and the NothingRetired halt into one finding. Specialist proof fails as claimed and is attached. The supply-cap branch could not be exercised on the live diamond, which I state in the finding.
    • Medium, RegenRouter.sol:179. Retirement is unguarded, so one reverting credit halts every project with no fall-through. Confirmed with a paused mock and on the fork, where 1 wei of C02-004 on the aggregator makes process revert with InvalidAmountReceived. Noted that the credit's whole supply sits in the class vault, which limits who can trigger the donation path. Proof attached.
    • Low (7). One-micro-USDC SlippageExceeded at a specific batch size, reproduced exactly on the fork. Sub-minBatch remainders and forfeited bounties stranded. Byte-exact name uniqueness (four specialists merged). Unverified regen checksum with permanent registration. Receiver id front-run merged with name squatting as one deploy-order hazard. Forwarder and treasury mutual immutables merged with the codeless-treasury strand and the scripts seating a Safe. Unbounded minGasLimit, confirmed on an Ethereum mainnet fork where the maximum value reverts at the real bridge.
    • Info (4). Future updatedAt panics instead of skipping, venue token not pinned, bounty below gas at small batches with the 4M gas figure from the fork, and the immutable Klima dependency as a trust assumption.

    Dropped or demoted

    • The sub-step NothingRetired claim was folded into the probe-mismatch finding rather than kept separately.
    • The UniswapV3Venue and minGasLimit items each appeared two or three times and were merged once.
    • No specialist claim failed to reproduce outright, but the fork-only numbers were re-measured rather than taken on trust.

    • highprocess() has no price floor on the USDC -> kVCM leg: the caller can sandwich the Aerodrome pool in one transaction and keep most of each batch's retired creditssrc/regen/RegenRouter.sol:175

    • mediumCredit liveness is probed with 1 USDC but the batch is quoted with `held`: a credit that can absorb $1 but not the batch leaves one project's USDC to be retired under the next project, or reverts eversrc/regen/RegenRouter.sol:261

    • mediumretireCreditViaKlima is not guarded: when the probed credit reverts on retirement (paused, delisted, or 1 wei of it sitting on the diamond) process() reverts for every project with no fall-through to src/regen/RegenRouter.sol:179

      Live shape: FOUNDRY_PROFILE=fork, Base block 52335751, deposit 0.05 ETH for project 1, vm.prank(classVault) C02-004.transfer(aggregator, 1), then process(1, pot) reverts with 0xc20c3993 = InvalidAmountReceived() (test/scratch/JudgeFork.t.sol::test_oneWeiDonationHaltsRetire).

    • lowFlooring to TONNE_STEP leaves no slack for the aggregator's round-up: some batch sizes revert SlippageExceeded by one micro-USDC and cannot be processed until the pools movesrc/regen/RegenRouter.sol:176

    • lowRemainders below minBatch, including a forfeited bounty, are stranded per (project, depositor) with no way to retire themsrc/regen/RegenRouter.sol:155

Options that keep the design: let process() accept a sub-minBatch balance when the caller waives the bounty, or let a depositor fold its remainder into another depositor's balance for the same project, or at least document the loss bound.

      minBatch 0.001 ETH, maxBatch 0.05 ETH, bountyBps 50 (test/scratch/JudgeUnit.t.sol::test_remainderStuck).

      Depositor deposits 0.0505 ETH for project 1; an EOA keeper calls process(1, depositor): ethIn = 0.05, balance = 0.0005 ETH; process(1, depositor) now reverts BelowMinBatch(500000000000000, 1000000000000000).

      Depositor tops up to 0.05 ETH; a contract without receive() calls process(): bounty 0.00025 ETH is forfeited into balanceOf[1][depositor]; process() reverts BelowMinBatch(250000000000000, 1000000000000000).

      Expected: every deposited wei is eventually retirable.

    • lowRegistry uniqueness is byte-exact: case, interior-space and look-alike variants of a registered name are accepted with other beneficiaries, defeating the stated reason for unique namessrc/regen/RegenRegistry.sol:43

      Fix if wanted: hash a normalised key (lowercase ASCII, collapsed runs of spaces) in idByName while storing the display name as given; grammar v1 is unchanged.

      register('IMDO', R, A) -> 1; register('imdo', R, B) -> 2; register('IM DO', R, C) -> 3; register('IMD0', R, D) -> 4; register('IMDO x', R, D) -> 5; only register('IMDO', R, E) reverts NameTaken(1) (test/scratch/JudgeUnit.t.sol::test_registryLookalikes). Expected per lines 12-13: the variants collide with id 1.

    • lowRegen address checksum is not verified and a registration is permanent: a mistyped address burns the project's unique name and every retirement for that id carries an address nobody controlssrc/regen/RegenRegistry.sol:82

    • lowReceiver addresses are predictable for ids that do not exist yet and ids are sequential and permissionless: a forwarder fixed to predict(id) before the project's register() lands can be captured by whsrc/regen/RegenReceiver.sol:54

    • lowOffsetsForwarder and ImdoTreasury point at each other through immutables with no code check: the shipped scripts seat a Safe as offsetsSafe, and a mispredicted treasury address makes forward() revert src/regen/OffsetsForwarder.sol:48

      (1) new OffsetsForwarder(IOffsetsSource(0xBEEF), bridge, receiver, 100000) with 0xBEEF having no code; vm.deal(forwarder, 1 ether); forwarder.forward().

      Expected per the @dev comment: bridges 1 ETH.

      Actual: reverts before the try/catch, bridge received 0 (test/scratch/JudgeUnit.t.sol::test_codelessTreasuryStrandsForwarder).

      (2) Deploy per script/DeployImdo.s.sol with offsetsSafe = S (a Safe), then deploy OffsetsForwarder(treasury, bridge, receiver, gas); fund the treasury and call treasury.process() so offsetsOwed > 0; forwarder.forward(): payOffsets reverts Unauthorized (caught), balance 0, revert NothingToForward; offsetsOwed stays claimable only by S (same shape as test/unit/RegenReceiver.t.sol test_onlyTheForwarderCanPullTheLeg with the roles swapped).

    • lowOffsetsForwarder accepts any minGasLimit: a value above the OP Stack resource limit makes forward() revert on every call and permanently strands the treasury's Offsets leg; zero makes every relay needsrc/regen/OffsetsForwarder.sol:41

    • infoFeed handling: a future updatedAt makes process() revert with a checked-arithmetic panic instead of Skipped; min/maxAnswer clamp, round completeness and the Base sequencer uptime feed are not considersrc/regen/RegenRouter.sol:243

    • infoUniswapV3Venue does not pin the output token: WrongToken only rejects WETH, unlike the stated 'anything but the configured token path'src/regen/UniswapV3Venue.sol:41

    • infoBounty does not cover process() gas at the lower end of the batch range; the bounty cannot be farmed, and the thin pool is Aerodrome's, not Uniswap'ssrc/regen/RegenRouter.sol:170

      FOUNDRY_PROFILE=fork forge test --gas-report on test/fork/RegenRouterBaseFork.t.sol: process(1, ...)

    • infoTrust assumption: the Klima aggregator, class vault, credit tokens and Aerodrome pool are immutable dependencies with no exit; a Klima migration ends the rail while the treasury keeps bridging into itsrc/regen/RegenRouter.sol:119
