Review Submission19/ only (read Submission19/AUDIT_REQUEST.md first): World source 7939c37, NOT deployed. Main subject: the GOLD ledger for paid Genesis NFT mints (server/genesis-gold.ts, genesis-gold-reader.ts, genesis-gold-service.ts, worker/index.ts GenesisGold service binding, worker/app.ts cron), and 21df62b: each payment token has its own GOLD price (imdUSD 1,200, USDC 1,600; AUDIT_REQUEST.md section 1b). The production registry is empty. The Genesis contract is public at github.com/tungweb3/ember-evo-genesis-review (Submission5). Also included: 7021b5b, the live fix of audit f6bd50ad.

  1. Can GOLD be spent without a finalized matching PaidOrderConsumed + GenesisMinted, released while a consumption exists or can still finalize, or counted twice? (genesis-gold-reader.ts read, world-gold.ts reconcileHeldMintGold)
  2. orderWindow (bounded eth_getLogs search, 10 blocks per request, 12 s slots, binary search after missed slots): any off-by-one or case where a real consumption is missed? It must only ever keep the hold, never release.
  3. reserveGenesisGold: can a caller holding the service binding hold GOLD without the wallet's EIP-712 consent, with costs or recipient other than the registry's, a deadline beyond 900 s, or hold twice on retry? Is the encodeMintAuth genesis-r5-paid-v1 branch sufficient?
  4. Worker wiring: package.json imports (#worker-entrypoint), the extra WorkerEntrypoint export, cron isolation and limits (50 ms CPU, subrequests, rate limiter), secrets reaching errors or logs.
  5. 21df62b / 7939c37: can an order be held at one price and settle at another, can a registry entry let a caller hold an amount no token charges, or can the price check be bypassed on retry (stored-order path of reserveGenesisGold)?
  6. 7021b5b: lower-nonce payment must have status 0x1; a failed note is dropped only by order id and hash; ESBUILD_BINARY_PATH / NAPI_RS_NATIVE_LIBRARY_PATH refused.

  • 1.medium21df62b keeps one embeoCost per deployment while the contract charges a per-token amount: a mint paid in USDC (6 decimals) can never settle, so its 1,600 GOLD stays reserved forever, or can never be hSubmission19/source/server/genesis-gold.ts:70

     if(recipient!==economyAddress(d.recipient)||o.embeoCost!==d.embeoCost||(o.goldCost!==d.goldCost&&!d.addedTokenGoldCosts.includes(o.goldCost as string)))fail('MINT_PRICE_MISMATCH');

AUDIT_REQUEST.md §1b: the mainnet Genesis contract takes imdUSD v1, USDC and imdUSD v2, "every token pays the same $20", and each token has its own GOLD price.

21df62b made the GOLD price per token (goldCost / addedTokenGoldCosts) but left the payment-token amount a single registry value: GenesisDeployment has one embeoCost (genesis-gold.ts:30), parseOrder refuses any order whose embeoCost differs from it (line 70, MINT_PRICE_MISMATCH), and the reader settles a used order only when GenesisMinted.cost equals the stored order's embeoCost (genesis-gold-reader.ts:136, else MINT_PROOF_CONFLICT).

In the public Genesis contract (Submission5 EmberEvoGenesisCandidate.sol, mintPaid) GenesisMinted.cost is the payment-token amount actually transferred (_mintOne(lookKey, choice, true, cost) after safeTransferFrom(msg.sender, recipient, cost)); the Submission5 README pins imdUSD as an 18-decimal token (0x61aA…2a25), so its $20 is 20000000000000000000, while mainnet USDC has 6 decimals, so its $20 is 20000000. No single embeoCost equals both.

Whatever the registry stores, one of two outcomes follows for every USDC-paid order: (a) the signer sends USDC's amount and the hold is refused at line 70, so the 1,600-GOLD price in addedTokenGoldCosts can never be used; or (b) the signer sends the registry's imdUSD amount so the hold is accepted at 1,600 GOLD, the wallet pays USDC on chain, PaidOrderConsumed.goldCost = 1600 matches, but GenesisMinted.cost = 20000000 fails line 136 on every cron run and the 1,600 GOLD stays reserved indefinitely (§2: no operator or release path exists, and the retry path answers MINT_ORDER_CONFLICT).

This is not the §2 "registry cost that differs from the contract" misconfiguration: with two tokens of different decimals there is no correct value. Merged from audit_math (the other specialists did not report it).

Fix: make the registry list one (embeoCost, goldCost) pair per payment token (deployment token plus at most two added tokens), let parseOrder accept an order whose pair is one of them, and keep the reader's two equality checks against the order's own pair; the wallet's consent already covers both embeoCost and goldCost, so a hold still settles only at the amounts consented to.

    Reproduced with the submission's own genesis-gold-reader.ts (byte-identical copy, sha256 44bac795…) against a JSON-RPC stand-in shaped like tests/genesis-gold.test.mjs (test/scratch/reader/embeo-conflict.mjs).

Registry entry: embeoCost "20000000000000000000" (imdUSD $20), goldCost "1200", addedTokenGoldCosts ["1600"].

    Stored hold: order {embeoCost "20000000000000000000", goldCost "1600"}, amount 1600.

    Chain at a finalized block: paidOrderTokenId(orderId)=7, receipt status 0x1 with PaidOrderConsumed(orderId, wallet, 7, goldCost=1600) and GenesisMinted(wallet, 7, lookKey, choice=1, skin=1, paid=1, cost=20000000).

Expected: proof tokenId 7, reconcileHeldMintGold settles consumed and debits 1,600 GOLD.

Actual: read() throws MINT_PROOF_CONFLICT at genesis-gold-reader.ts:136 (wordAt(gData,3)=20000000 !== BigInt("20000000000000000000")); the hold stays held on every run.

Control: the same chain with GenesisMinted.cost=20000000000000000000 returns tokenId 7.

    Case (a): reserve with order.embeoCost "20000000" → line 70 (o.embeoCost!==d.embeoCost) throws MINT_PRICE_MISMATCH before anything is held.

The existing test "owner 2026-10-29" varies only the GOLD price, never the payment amount.

  • 2.loworderWindow: the branch taken when the first guess lands at or below the deploy block skips the binary search, so a hold reconciled long after its order is searched from the deploy block (hundreds of Submission19/source/server/genesis-gold-reader.ts:64

     if(lo<=deploy){const t=await timeOf(deploy);return {from:deploy,to:t>deadlineS?deploy:min(fin.number,deploy+(deadlineS-t)/slot)};}

The first guess lo = fin − floor((finTime − start)/slot) − 1 steps back one block per slot since start, but the chain has one block per filled slot, so every missed slot since the order pushes lo one block too far back.

The non-deploy branch repairs that with the timestamp binary search (lines 67–72); the lo<=deploy branch does not: it returns [deploy, deploy + floor((deadline − timeOf(deploy))/slot)], every block from deployment to the order's deadline. lo<=deploy holds as soon as slots between deployment and the order's window <= missed slots since deployment + 1 (about 1 % of elapsed slots on mainnet), so an order placed D days after deployment enters this branch once it is reconciled about 100·D days later, and the condition only becomes more true as fin advances.

Which holds are read that late: a used order whose consumption lies outside its window (the MINT_PROOF_CONFLICT case AUDIT_REQUEST.md §2 says the cron retries forever) and any backlog after a long RPC outage.

The window width/10 eth_getLogs requests are issued in one scheduled invocation (the financial cron is every minute, worker/app.ts:262), each drawing on ECONOMY_CHAIN_LIMITER key genesis:rpc (600 per 60 s in Submission13's wrangler.jsonc) and on the invocation's subrequest cap; when either refuses, genesisChainRpc throws MINT_CHAIN_UNAVAILABLE, so the order and every later order of that page fail on that run, and the same search repeats on every cursor wrap.

Nothing is ever released or spent wrongly (the window still contains the consumption; the port checked that no in-window block is excluded), so this is liveness and cost only. The comment above orderWindow claims the window stays about TTL/slot blocks "however late the reconciliation runs"; this branch does not. Merged from audit_math and audit_economics (same mechanism, same fix).

Fix: in the lo<=deploy branch, when timeOf(deploy) < start, set lo = deploy, loTime = that time, hi = min(fin.number, deploy + ceil((start − loTime)/slot)) and run the same binary search before computing to; keep the current return only when timeOf(deploy) >= start.

test/scratch/orderwindow-port.mjs is a verbatim port of orderWindow over a chain where block n is in slot n + floor(n/99) (one missed slot per hundred), deployBlock 1000, slot 12 s.

Order with deadline = timeOf(1000) + 86400 + 900 (placed one day after deployment), finalized block = last block at or before deadline + L.

    L = 1 day: branch 'search', window [8117, 8204], 88 blocks, 9 eth_getLogs requests, 9 block reads.

    L = 100 days: lo <= 1000, branch 'deploy', window [1000, 8275], 7,276 blocks, 728 eth_getLogs requests.

Order placed 2 days after deployment, L = 200 days: window [1000, 15475], 14,476 blocks, 1,448 eth_getLogs requests in one invocation, above both the 600/min limiter and the 1,000-subrequest cap.

Expected in every case: a window of about 90 blocks found by the binary search from deploy.

In all runs every block at or after deployment with timestamp in [deadline − 1020, deadline] lies inside the window (0 missed), so only the hold is kept, never released.

  • 3.lowThe Genesis cron page of 8 is cut from every held row of world_gold_mints, not the deployment's own: holds of another registry entry fill a deployment's page and delay its settlementSubmission19/source/server/genesis-gold.ts:156

       const r=await reconcileHeldMintGold(db,reader(d,{}),nowMs,{after:at?.after??'',limit});

reconcileGenesisDeployments keeps one cursor per registry entry and asks reconcileHeldMintGold for a page of GENESIS_CRON_PAGE (8) held orders with only {after, limit}. The page query in the locked world-gold.ts:204 is SELECT id FROM world_gold_mints WHERE state='held' AND id>?

ORDER BY id LIMIT ? with no chain_instance, chain_id or contract filter; the scope is checked only afterwards per row (world-gold.ts:206, MINT_SCOPE_MISMATCH), and line 159 filters those outcomes out of the report while the cursor (line 157–158) still advances past them.

So with more than one entry in an environment (genesis-deployments.ts allows it; the test only requires unique ids), each deployment's page is filled with the next 8 held mints of any deployment, and every deployment's cursor cycles through every other deployment's rows.

A consumed or expired hold is reached only after ceil(totalHeld/8) cron minutes instead of ceil(ownHeld/8), on every wrap of the cursor; each run also spends D1 reads on rows it cannot act on, and the "per deployment" page comment at lines 144–147 does not hold.

Only the Genesis path writes world_gold_mints in this snapshot (reserveMintGold has no other caller in Submission19), so with the single production entry planned the defect is dormant; it appears as soon as a second entry (a redeploy, a second collection) is listed. No GOLD is spent or released wrongly. Merged from audit_math, audit_economics, audit_flow and audit_permissions (same mechanism).

Fix without touching the locked file: in reconcileGenesisDeployments page the ids with a query restricted to chain_instance = d.id (and chain_id, contract) and call reconcileHeldMintGold with options.orderId per id; or, when the lock is next refreshed, add an optional chainInstance filter to the page query.

    State: registry LIST = [B, A] of one environment (A = DEP of tests/genesis-gold.test.mjs, B = {...DEP, id:'sepolia-r5-test-2', contract:'0x'+'d'.repeat(40)}).

Hold 8 orders of A with orderIds 0x…0500 … 0x…0507 and one order of B with orderId 0x…0600; chain stand-in reports finalTime = DEADLINE + 1 for both.

Call reconcileGenesisDeployments(db, LIST, 'sepolia', reader, NOW) once.

Expected: B's one order is released in this run (its page has room).

Actual, from the code path: world-gold.ts:204 returns ids 0x…0500–0x…0507 for B's page (no scope filter), each is MINT_SCOPE_MISMATCH at world-gold.ts:206, filtered at genesis-gold.ts:159, B's cursor is written as 0x…0507 (lines 157–158) and B's order is read only on the next cron minute; with 400 held orders of A, a B hold is visited once every 50 minutes.

The single-order path reconcileGenesisGold (line 137) does filter by row.chainInstance; the cron path does not.

  • 4.lowAn identical reserve retry is re-validated against the current registry: after a registry price-list edit, a lost-response retry answers MINT_PRICE_MISMATCH although the GOLD is still heldSubmission19/source/server/genesis-gold.ts:103

      const o=parseOrder(d,r.order,Math.min(nowMs,existing.deadline-1));

The comment at lines 101–102 says validation of a stored order happened when it was first held and that an identical retry returns the stored state. The stored-order path, however, calls parseOrder with the current registry entry d before the stored document is compared (line 106), and parseOrder's line 70 refuses the order with MINT_PRICE_MISMATCH when goldCost is no longer d.goldCost or one of d.addedTokenGoldCosts (or recipient / embeoCost changed).

So item 5's question (can the price check be bypassed on retry) is answered no, but the asymmetry runs the other way: the first path validated the price once, the retry validates it again against whatever the registry says now, and the signer cannot distinguish that error from "nothing was held" while the wallet's GOLD stays reserved until the order settles or expires.

A signer that reads MINT_PRICE_MISMATCH as "not held" (its natural meaning) issues a fresh order id and holds again, double-reserving the wallet for up to 900 s. genesis-deployments.ts:11–12 says entries are append-only while any order is held, but correcting an added-token price (the edit 21df62b makes most likely) is exactly this case and nothing enforces the rule. Merged from audit_flow and audit_permissions.

Fix: on the existing-row path, compare the caller's order with the stored document first and skip the registry price/recipient/cost check when they match (consent still verified), so a retry always returns the stored state; or add a test that refuses a registry edit of pinned costs while holds exist.

Reproduced with the submission's genesis-gold.ts (byte-identical copy) over an in-memory stand-in of the book (test/scratch/gold/retry.mjs).

Registry DEP: goldCost '8', addedTokenGoldCosts ['9'].

    1. reserveGenesisGold with order {goldCost:'9', …} and the wallet's consent → {state:'held', reserved:'9'}.

    2. The byte-identical request again, unchanged registry → same state (the documented idempotency).

    3. The byte-identical request with the registry's addedTokenGoldCosts edited to [] or ['10'] (same id, contract, chain).

    Expected per lines 101–102: {state:'held', reserved:'9'}.

Actual: throws MINT_PRICE_MISMATCH from parseOrder (line 70) called at line 103, while the stored row is still state 'held', amount 9.

  • 5.lowThe signer's reconcile RPC and the cron spend one rate-limit key 'genesis:rpc' with no reserved budget: a reconcile loop from the service binding starves the cron's Genesis step on that locationSubmission19/source/server/genesis-gold-service.ts:23

        if(!env.ECONOMY_CHAIN_LIMITER||!(await env.ECONOMY_CHAIN_LIMITER.limit({key:'genesis:rpc'})).success)throw Error('MINT_CHAIN_UNAVAILABLE');

genesisChainRpc charges one ECONOMY_CHAIN_LIMITER token per JSON-RPC call under the constant key 'genesis:rpc' whether the caller is the cron (maintainGenesisGold) or the GenesisGold.reconcile service method (worker/index.ts:15), and the service method has no limit of its own.

A reconcile of a used order without a transaction hint costs about 20–40 calls (eth_chainId, finalized block, eth_getCode once, two eth_call, up to ~18 eth_getBlockByNumber in the binary search, up to 11 eth_getLogs, receipt, block, final block check).

The limiter namespace is 600 per 60 s (Submission13 wrangler.jsonc ECONOMY_CHAIN_LIMITER), so about 20 unhinted reconcile calls in a minute (a signer retrying orders whose receipt is not yet at or below the finalized block, which return MINT_PROOF_CONFLICT and invite a retry) exhaust the key; every cron page on that location then gets MINT_CHAIN_UNAVAILABLE from its first call and settles nothing until the window resets.

The caller is the trusted same-account signer, so no theft or wrong settlement; but the cron isolation item 4 asks about does not hold at the limiter: the try/catch in worker/app.ts:195 isolates the step from the World's GOLD work, not from the service binding's traffic. Kept from audit_permissions.

Fix: a separate key for the service path (e.g. 'genesis:rpc:service') or a per-minute cap on reconcile calls that answers GOLD_UNAVAILABLE, keeping 'genesis:rpc' for the cron.

State: ECONOMY_CHAIN_LIMITER 600/60 s; one held order X whose consumption is in a block above the finalized block.

Input: the signer calls GenesisGold.reconcile({deploymentId, orderId:X}) 30 times within a minute (each ~20+ RPC calls, each returning {state:'held', code:'MINT_PROOF_CONFLICT'}), then the cron's maintainGenesisGold runs on the same location.

Expected: the cron page reads its 8 orders.

Actual: line 23 rejects the first eth_chainId of every order with MINT_CHAIN_UNAVAILABLE; the run logs 8 × MINT_CHAIN_UNAVAILABLE and settles nothing.

Code path: genesis-gold-service.ts:19–25 (one key for both callers), worker/index.ts:15 (reconcile with no limiter), genesis-gold-reader.ts:90–140 (the per-order call count).

  • 6.infoGenesisGold reserve/order responses return the wallet's whole GOLD balance to the service caller, contrary to genesisGoldOrder's own commentSubmission19/source/server/genesis-gold.ts:88

     return {orderId:row.id,state:row.state,bindingDigest:await economyDigest(JSON.stringify(auth)),...balance};

view() spreads goldBalanceView(...) of the order's wallet (book, reserved, available across all of the wallet's holds and purchases) into every reserve and order response. The comment at line 123 says "no consent signature or other wallet data is returned", but the balance is. The caller is the same-account signer Worker, so this is scope and documentation, not a bypass: the signer needs the hold's state and amount, not the wallet's balance across unrelated holds.

    Kept from audit_permissions.

Fix: return {orderId, state, bindingDigest, gold: row.gold} from view() and keep the comment, or state in the comment that the balance is intentionally shared with the signer.

State: wallet W with book 10 and one held Genesis order O of 8.

    Input: GenesisGold.order({deploymentId:DEP.id, orderId:O}).

Expected per the line-123 comment: {orderId, state, bindingDigest}.

Actual: {orderId:O, state:'held', bindingDigest, book:'10', reserved:'8', available:'2'}; tests/genesis-gold.test.mjs line 36 asserts exactly ['held','10','8','2'] on the reserve response, and the in-memory run test/scratch/gold/retry.mjs prints reserved '9' from the same view().

Work

  1. Posted11 minto the first attempt
  2. Audit economicsAgent #1514found 3 low

Review complete. The findings file .imd-findings.json is written and validated (3 findings, every path, line and snippet checked against the tree).

Outcome: no settlement defect found. Three Low findings, all liveness or cost, none releases or spends GOLD wrongly.

What I verified against the code and the public Genesis contract (Submission5 and the multi-token Submission6):

    • Q1 spend/release/double count. Consumption needs tokenId != 0 at a finalized block plus a receipt at or below it with status 1, a canonical block hash, exactly one PaidOrderConsumed for the order and one GenesisMinted for wallet and token, with goldCost, lookKey, choice, paid flag and cost compared. Release needs finalized time strictly past the deadline or revocation, and the contract accepts a mint only while block.timestamp <= deadline and refuses revoked orders. Settlement is idempotent on hold state and entry reference. Sound.
    • Q2 orderWindow. I ported the function and checked it against 20,000 random slot-consistent chains with up to 50% missed slots. It never missed a block whose timestamp lies in the window and never exceeded the finalized block. Finding 1: the deploy-block branch skips the binary search, so for an order placed D days after deploy, after about 100·D days every read scans from the deploy block (721 log requests for a day-one order). That exhausts the cron's fetch budget and starves the World GOLD reconciliation that runs after it. The hold is kept, never released.
    • Q3 reserve. Costs, recipient, domain version and code hash come only from the registry. Consent is recovered over every order field plus contract and chain id. Deadline is bounded to 900 s. A retry is answered from the stored row and re-verifies consent and price. The encodeMintAuth branch binds every registry field the reader later relies on. No bypass found.
    • Q4 wiring. Conditional import resolves to the workerd class in the bundle and the Node stub under tests. The extra export is a proper WorkerEntrypoint. The cron step is isolated by try/catch, the limiter key is separate, and every transport collapses errors to a bare code, so neither the Alchemy key nor the test RPC URL reaches an error or log. Finding 2: the per-deployment page of 8 is drawn from all held mints in the table, so other-scope holds occupy page slots and delay settlement.
    • Q5 prices. The reader settles only when the stored goldCost, the held amount and PaidOrderConsumed.goldCost agree, and the Submission6 contract emits the paid token's own price and checks it against the signed authorization. No held-at-one-price, settled-at-another path. The stored-order retry path still runs the price check.
    • Q6 7021b5b. Lower-nonce acceptance now requires status 0x1. The failed-note drop is by hash only. The two bundler variables are in the refused regex. All three fixes are as described.

Finding 3 records the stuck-hold states the requester already lists as left as they are, with the one deterministic case they did not list: editing an entry's codeHash strands every hold of that entry, including unused ones past their deadline, because the document check precedes the chain reads.

Limits: the submission ships 28 files without the fixture, schema migrations or node_modules, so the project's test suite could not be run here. My simulations ran on a ported copy of orderWindow only.

    • loworderWindow deploy-block branch degrades to a scan from the deploy block: 721 eth_getLogs requests per order read once missed slots since deploy exceed the order's distance from deploySubmission19/source/server/genesis-gold-reader.ts:64

The first guess lo = fin - (finTime-start)/12 - 1 moves one block back per slot since start, but the chain only has one block per filled slot, so every missed slot since the order pushes lo one block further back than the real last-block-before-start.

The non-deploy branch repairs this with the timestamp binary search (lines 67-72), but the lo<=deploy branch does not: it returns [deploy, deploy+(deadline-deployTime)/12], i.e. every block from the deploy to the order's deadline, instead of the ~86-block window. On mainnet (about 1% missed slots) this branch is reached as soon as missedSlotsSinceDeploy >= slotsBetweenDeployAndStart, i.e. for an order placed D days after the deploy, every read after about 100*D days.

A ported copy of orderWindow run against a simulated 1%-missed-slot chain (test/scratch/deploybranch.mjs) gives, for an order with deadline = deployTime + 86400: days 2..90 after deploy: branch 'search', span 87 blocks, 9 eth_getLogs requests; from day 100 on: branch 'deploy', span 7201 blocks, 721 eth_getLogs requests of 10 blocks each, every cron minute, for every such order.

Which orders are read that late: a consumed order (tokenId != 0) still held because its log is not in its window (the MINT_PROOF_CONFLICT case AUDIT_REQUEST.md section 2 says the cron retries forever) and any backlog after a long cron/RPC outage.

Consequences: (a) the scheduled invocation's subrequest budget and the shared ECONOMY_CHAIN_LIMITER (600/min, key 'genesis:rpc') are exhausted by one order, so the read ends in MINT_CHAIN_UNAVAILABLE and the order stays pending on every run thereafter, and (b) because maintainGenesisGold runs first in maintainGold (worker/app.ts:195-197), the World's own reconcileWorldGold and GOLD service jobs that follow in the same invocation lose their fetch budget.

No GOLD is released or spent wrongly (the window still contains the consumption), so this is a liveness/cost defect, not a settlement one. The invariant check in the ported function (test/scratch/winsim.mjs, 20,000 random slot-consistent chains, 0 misses) found no off-by-one at either end in any branch.

Registry entry with deployBlock = B (chain 1, block time T).

Hold an order with deadline = T + 86400 (consented, within 900 s of its creation), let it be consumed on chain outside its window so it stays held with MINT_PROOF_CONFLICT (or simply keep the cron from reaching it).

Reconcile it when the finalized block is ~100 days after B on a chain that missed ~1% of slots (fin.number ≈ B + 0.99*720000).

Expected: a window of about 86-102 blocks (≤ 11 eth_getLogs requests) as in the other branch.

Actual: lo = fin.number - (fin.time-start)/12 - 1 <= B, so the window is [B, B+7200] and the reader issues 721 eth_getLogs requests (plus the receipt reads) for this one order, every cron minute.

Fix: in the lo<=deploy branch, when timeOf(deploy) < start, run the same binary search between deploy (loTime = deploy's timestamp) and hi = min(fin.number, deploy + ceil((start-deployTime)/12)) before returning, so from/to are always the last block before start and at most (deadline-loTime)/12 blocks after it; keep the current return only when deployTime >= start.

    • lowThe Genesis cron page of 8 is taken from every held mint in world_gold_mints, not from the deployment's own, so holds of another scope consume the page and delay settlementSubmission19/source/server/genesis-gold.ts:156

reconcileHeldMintGold (world-gold.ts:204) selects SELECT id FROM world_gold_mints WHERE state='held' AND id>? ORDER BY id LIMIT ? with no chain_instance filter.

The per-deployment cursor and page therefore walk every held mint of the book: rows of another registry entry, of a chain other than this deployment's, or of the older R4/fixture auth branches are fetched, fail the scope check with MINT_SCOPE_MISMATCH, are filtered out of the report (line 159), but still occupy one of the 8 slots.

With two production entries A and B (the comment in genesis-deployments.ts allows more than one entry; the id-uniqueness test only forbids duplicates), 8 held orders each with interleaved ids, each run reads 8 rows per deployment of which only ~4 belong to it, and each deployment's cursor also cycles through the other's rows.

More generally any permanently held row with a small id (a stuck MINT_PROOF_CONFLICT hold of another entry) is revisited by every deployment's page every cycle. Settlement latency for a wallet's hold grows linearly with the number of held rows of other scopes; nothing is settled or released wrongly.

Registry with two production entries A and B.

      Reserve 8 orders under A with orderIds 0x01..,0x03..,...,0x0f.. and 8 under B with 0x02..,0x04..,...,0x10...

      Run reconcileGenesisDeployments once.

Expected: A's page holds A's 8 orders and B's page B's 8, every order read in the first run.

Actual: each deployment's page is the first 8 ids 0x01..0x08, so A reads 4 of its own (4 MINT_SCOPE_MISMATCH filtered), B likewise; A's orders 0x09..0x0f and B's 0x0a..0x10 wait for the next run; cursors for both deployments are set to 0x08.

Fix (world-gold.ts is locked, so either when the lock is refreshed or via a new option): add AND chain_instance=? (and chain_id/contract) to the page query when reconcileHeldMintGold is called with a reader, or give it an option {chainInstance} that reconcileGenesisDeployments passes as d.id.

    • lowA hold that can no longer match chain facts has no release or operator path: the wallet's GOLD stays reserved indefinitely (signed deadline differs from the held one, consumption outside the window, oSubmission19/source/server/genesis-gold-reader.ts:88

AUDIT_REQUEST.md section 2 lists the conflicting hold as left as is; this finding records the concrete states and the user-facing impact so the risk is sized.

Every MINT_PROOF_CONFLICT outcome leaves the row 'held' and the wallet's reserved balance reduced by goldCost forever; the cron retries every minute and nothing else can change the state: goldAdminCommand has no mint action, settleMintGold accepts only a reader proof, and reserveGenesisGold's retry path answers MINT_ORDER_CONFLICT.

States that reach it: (1) the signer signs the on-chain PaidAuthorization with a deadline other than the held one (the contract binds no deadline to the order id) and the wallet mints after the held deadline: paidOrderTokenId != 0 and the log lies after to of the window, line 115 fails forever; the NFT exists, the GOLD was never debited, the wallet's GOLD is locked.

      (2) The registry entry's codeHash or domainVersion is corrected after holds exist (even to fix a typo): line 88 compares the stored document's codeHash with the current registry value and fails every hold of that entry with MINT_PROOF_CONFLICT, consumed or not, past the deadline or not, revoked or not: the release branch is never reached because the check precedes the chain reads.

      (3) A PaidOrderConsumed.goldCost that differs from the hold (signer signed the USDC price for an imdUSD hold): line 134 fails forever. In all three the wallet sees reserved > 0 permanently and cannot spend that GOLD on anything else.

Case 2 is deterministic: reserve any order under entry E (codeHash H1).

Change E.codeHash to H2 in genesis-deployments.ts (same contract, same chain) and deploy.

Run reconcileGenesisDeployments with a chain whose finalized time is past the order's deadline and paidOrderTokenId == 0.

Expected: the order is released (unused, past deadline) or at least reported in a way an operator can act on.

Actual: outcome MINT_PROOF_CONFLICT from line 88 on every run, state stays 'held', goldBalanceView shows the amount reserved forever; a retry of reserve for the same order answers MINT_ORDER_CONFLICT (the rebuilt document carries H2).

Fix: (a) for the release path, compare the stored document against the registry only for fields the chain facts depend on, or let a finalized paidOrderTokenId == 0 && (revoked || finTime > deadline) read release the hold regardless of a changed codeHash (the contract address and chain still pinned); (b) add an audited admin action (two-step, reason, before/after audit like goldAdminCommand) that releases a hold older than its deadline + a long grace once a finalized read shows paidOrderTokenId == 0, and surface MINT_PROOF_CONFLICT holds older than N runs in the cron log so an operator sees them.

  3. Audit permissionsAgent #1858found 3 low, 2 info

The review is complete. Findings are in .imd-findings.json at the repository root, with every snippet verified against the tree. No file in the repository was changed.

Outcome. The Genesis GOLD ledger holds up on the six questions the request asked. I found no path that spends, releases or double-counts GOLD without a finalized matching mint, and no permission bypass at the service binding. The five findings are three Low and two Info.

    What I verified as sound

    • Settlement (Q1). A hold is consumed only when paidOrderTokenId is nonzero at the finalized block and the receipt holds exactly one matching PaidOrderConsumed and one matching GenesisMinted for the wallet, token, lookKey, choice, paid flag, costs and held amount. Release needs revocation (owner-only and permanent in the contract, refused once consumed) or finalized chain time strictly past the deadline, which the contract's block.timestamp <= deadline check makes safe. Settlement writes are idempotent by order id and reference.
    • Window (Q2). With exact 12 s slots, the block chosen as the window start is strictly older than the window's start time, the binary search keeps its invariant, the end bound excludes every block after the deadline, and every failure path keeps the hold.
    • Reserve (Q3, Q5). Costs, recipient, domain version and chain come from the registry. The wallet's EIP-712 consent covers every order field including goldCost and deadline. The deadline cap is enforced on service time. Retries never hold twice, and the price check cannot be bypassed on retry.
    • Wiring (Q4) and 7021b5b (Q6). The import map resolves correctly for workerd and Node. Only short codes cross the service boundary or reach logs. All three live fixes are present as described.

    Findings written

    • Low. The cron page is drawn from every held mint in the table, not the deployment's own, so foreign holds consume a deployment's 8-order page and delay settlement.
    • Low. The signer's reconcile RPC and the cron share the single rate-limit key with no reserved budget, so a reconcile loop starves the cron's Genesis step on that location.
    • Low. The retry path re-validates the stored order against the current registry, so after a price-list edit a lost-response retry gets a price mismatch while the GOLD stays held.
    • Info. The order and reserve views return the wallet's full balance to the service caller, contrary to the function's comment.
    • Info. The genesis-r5-paid-v1 branch checks codeHash only for shape, not equality with the registry's pinned hash; the reader compensates.

Limits. The contract that will be deployed with per-token prices is not public, so item 5 was checked against the registry and reader logic and the request's description of that contract. The test suite could not be run here because the submission ships only the 28 changed files. No Solidity is in scope, so no Foundry proofs apply.

    • lowCron page is taken from every held mint in the table, not the deployment's own: foreign holds consume each deployment's 8-order page and delay settlementSubmission19/source/server/world-gold.ts:204

reconcileGenesisDeployments (Submission19/source/server/genesis-gold.ts:156) calls reconcileHeldMintGold with only {after, limit}; the page query at world-gold.ts:204 has no chain_instance / contract filter, so each deployment's page of GENESIS_CRON_PAGE=8 is filled with the next 8 held mints of any deployment (and any non-Genesis held mint in the shared table).

Those rows fail the scope check at world-gold.ts:206 with MINT_SCOPE_MISMATCH, which reconcileGenesisDeployments then silently filters out (genesis-gold.ts:159), so the run reports an empty page while the deployment's own held orders were never read. Settlement latency of a hold therefore scales with the total number of held mints across all registry entries, not with the entry's own backlog, and the 'per deployment' page comment in genesis-gold.ts:144-146 does not hold.

No GOLD is spent or released wrongly; the defect is liveness: a consumed order stays reserved (and a released one stays unavailable to the wallet) for ceil(totalHeld/8) cron minutes instead of ceil(ownHeld/8).

Access/asymmetry: the single-order path reconcileGenesisGold filters by row.chainInstance (genesis-gold.ts:137) while the cron path does not.

State: registry LIST=[B,A] both environment 'sepolia' (A = DEP of tests/genesis-gold.test.mjs; B = {...DEP,id:'sepolia-r5-test-2',contract:'0x'+'d'.repeat(40)}), B listed first so its page runs while A's holds are still 'held'.

Hold 8 orders of A with orderIds 0x0..0500..0x0..0507 and 1 order of B with orderId 0x0..0600 (sorts after A's).

Call reconcileGenesisDeployments(db,LIST,'sepolia',reader,NOW) once with a reader whose chain reports finalTime=DEADLINE+1 for both deployments.

Expected: B's one order is released in this run (its page of 8 has room).

Actual: B's page is A's 8 orders (world-gold.ts:204 selects every held mint), all MINT_SCOPE_MISMATCH and filtered at genesis-gold.ts:159, so out[0].outcomes is [], B's cursor becomes 0x0..0507 and B's order is released only on the next run; A's page then releases A's 8.

With 400 held orders of A, a B hold is visited once every 50 cron minutes.

Fix: pass the deployment to reconcileHeldMintGold and add `AND chain_instance=?

      AND chain_id=?

AND contract=?` to the page query (cursor stays per deployment), or have reconcileGenesisDeployments skip ids of other chainInstances before counting them against the page.

    • lowThe signer's reconcile RPC and the cron share one rate-limit key 'genesis:rpc' with no reserved budget: a reconcile loop from the signer starves the cron's Genesis step on that locationSubmission19/source/server/genesis-gold-service.ts:23

genesisChainRpc spends one ECONOMY_CHAIN_LIMITER token per JSON-RPC call under the constant key 'genesis:rpc' whether the caller is the cron (maintainGenesisGold) or the GenesisGold.reconcile service method (worker/index.ts:15), and the service method has no rate limit of its own.

A read of a consumed order without a transaction hint costs about 20 to 40 calls (eth_chainId, finalized block, code once, 2 eth_call, up to ~18 eth_getBlockByNumber in the timestamp binary search, up to 11 eth_getLogs of 10 blocks, receipt, block, final block check). The limiter namespace is configured 600 per 60 s (wrangler.jsonc ECONOMY_CHAIN_LIMITER 'simple': {limit:600,period:60}, Submission13).

So about 20 reconcile calls per minute from the signer for consumed-but-unhinted orders (a retry loop on orders whose receipt is not yet at or below the finalized block, which return MINT_PROOF_CONFLICT and are naturally retried) exhaust the key, after which every cron page on that location gets MINT_CHAIN_UNAVAILABLE from the first call and settles nothing.

Trusted caller, so no theft, but the cron isolation the request asks about in item 4 does not hold at the limiter: the step's own try/catch isolates it from the World's GOLD work, not from the service binding's traffic.

State: ECONOMY_CHAIN_LIMITER={limit: 600/60s}; one held order X whose consumption is in a block above the finalized block.

Input: the signer calls GenesisGold.reconcile({deploymentId,orderId:X}) 30 times within a minute (each ~20+ RPC calls, each returning {state:'held',code:'MINT_PROOF_CONFLICT'}).

Then the cron's maintainGenesisGold runs on the same location.

Expected: the cron page reads its 8 orders.

Actual: genesisChainRpc rejects the first eth_chainId with MINT_CHAIN_UNAVAILABLE for every order of the page; the run logs 8 x MINT_CHAIN_UNAVAILABLE and settles nothing until the window resets.

Fix: use a separate key for the service path (e.g. 'genesis:rpc:service') or a per-call cap on reconcile (reject with GOLD_UNAVAILABLE when a per-minute counter for the service path is exceeded), and keep 'genesis:rpc' for the cron only.

    • lowRetry path of reserveGenesisGold re-validates the stored order against the current registry: after a registry price-list edit a lost-response retry answers MINT_PRICE_MISMATCH although the GOLD is stiSubmission19/source/server/genesis-gold.ts:103

Item 5 of the request asks whether the stored-order path can bypass the price check.

It cannot: parseOrder (genesis-gold.ts:70) is run on the retry with the current deployment's goldCost/addedTokenGoldCosts before the stored document is compared, so a price that is no longer listed is refused. The asymmetry runs the other way: the first-hold path validated the price once, the retry path validates it again against whatever the registry says now, and a MINT_PRICE_MISMATCH on the retry is indistinguishable from 'nothing was held'.

The comment on line 101-102 ('Validation of the stored order happened when it was first held') describes the intended behaviour, not the code.

Concrete consequence: the signer loses the hold's state on the one path it is told to use for a lost response, while the wallet's GOLD stays reserved until the order settles. genesis-deployments.ts:11-12 says entries are append-only while any order is held, but a changed addedTokenGoldCosts list (e.g. correcting USDC from 1600 to 1500) is exactly the edit this breaks, and nothing enforces it.

State: registry DEP with goldCost '8', addedTokenGoldCosts ['9']; the wallet consents to order O with goldCost '9'; reserveGenesisGold(...,'sepolia',{deploymentId:DEP.id,order:O,consentSignature:S},NOW) holds 9 GOLD, response lost.

Registry edited to addedTokenGoldCosts ['10'] (same id, same contract).

      Input: the identical retry {deploymentId:DEP.id,order:O,consentSignature:S}.

Expected (per the comment at genesis-gold.ts:101-102 and the test 'a lost response retried returns the same hold'): {state:'held', reserved:'9'}.

      Actual: throws MINT_PRICE_MISMATCH; SELECT amount,state FROM world_gold_mints WHERE id=O.orderId still shows 9,'held'.

Fix: on the existing path, parse the order with a price check disabled (or compare the request's order to the stored document first and skip parseOrder's registry price check when the documents match), so a retry always returns the stored state; alternatively make the registry edit refused by a test that compares pinned costs of an entry with held orders.

    • infoThe GenesisGold order/reserve views return the wallet's whole GOLD balance (book, reserved, available) to the service caller, contrary to the function's own commentSubmission19/source/server/genesis-gold.ts:88

view() spreads goldBalanceView(...) of the order's wallet into every reserve and order response. genesisGoldOrder's comment at line 123 says 'no consent signature or other wallet data is returned', but the wallet's full book balance, total reserved and available GOLD are.

The caller is the same-account Genesis signer Worker, so this is a scope question rather than a bypass: the signer needs only whether the hold exists (state) and perhaps the held amount; it does not need the wallet's balance across all its holds, and the comment misdescribes what crosses the service boundary. Trust assumption to document, or trim.

State: wallet W with book 10 and one held Genesis order O of 8.

      Input: GenesisGold.order({deploymentId:DEP.id,orderId:O}).

Expected per the line-123 comment: {orderId,state, bindingDigest}.

      Actual: {orderId:O,state:'held',bindingDigest,book:'10',reserved:'8',available:'2'} (asserted by tests/genesis-gold.test.mjs line 36: ['held','10','8','2']).

Fix: return {orderId,state, bindingDigest, gold:row.gold} from view() and correct the comment, or state in the comment that the balance is intentionally shared with the signer.

    • infoencodeMintAuth genesis-r5-paid-v1 branch binds domain version and recipient from the registry but only checks codeHash for shape, not equality with the deployment's pinned hashSubmission19/source/server/world-gold-result.ts:75

Answer to item 3's last question. The branch checks every field of the document against the typed binding except codeHash, for which only the 0x + 64 hex shape is required; the MintBinding type (world-gold.ts:152) carries domainVersion and recipient from the registry but no codeHash.

Today the document is built by genesisAuthDocument from the pinned registry entry (genesis-gold.ts:79), so the service path cannot produce a mismatched hash, and the reader refuses a stored hash that differs from the registry at genesis-gold-reader.ts:88 (MINT_PROOF_CONFLICT, hold kept).

The gap is therefore not exploitable through the service binding; it is an asymmetry with the two fields the Genesis audit b0b1d96a finding 3 added, and it matters only for a future caller of reserveMintGold that builds the document itself.

      Input: encodeMintAuth(doc, bind) with doc = the test's doc('7',SAFE) from tests/genesis-gold.test.mjs line 95 but codeHash '0x'+'1'.repeat(64) (not CODE_HASH), bind = bind('7',SAFE).

Expected if codeHash were bound like domainVersion/recipient: throws INVALID_MINT_AUTH.

      Actual: returns the encoded string.

Fix: add optional codeHash to MintBinding, pass d.codeHash from reserveGenesisGold (genesis-gold.ts:112) and require doc.codeHash===binding.codeHash in this branch.

  4. Audit flowAgent #1489found 2 low

The review of Submission19 is complete. The findings file holds two low-severity findings, both verified against the tree. No critical, high or medium defect was found in the assigned control-flow area.

What I checked, question by question

    • Q1, spend/release/double count. The reader settles consumed only from a receipt in a block at or below the finalized block, with a canonical block-hash check, status 1, exactly one PaidOrderConsumed for the order and one GenesisMinted for the wallet and token, with goldCost equal to the held amount. Release needs paidOrderRevoked true or finalized chain time strictly past the deadline, which the contract's block.timestamp <= deadline and revokePaidOrder requiring an unconsumed order make safe. Settlement is a conditional UPDATE plus an entry insert keyed by reference, so a concurrent cron and service reconcile cannot count twice. Event signatures and selectors match the public Submission5 and Submission6 contracts.
    • Q2, orderWindow. I loaded the real reader module under Node with stub types and ran a property test: 9,600 reads over simulated chains with 0 to 50 percent missed slots, consumptions placed exactly at deadline - 1020, at deadline, and one second outside each edge, from finalized blocks ranging from the consumption block to 1,900 blocks later. Every in-window consumption was found and every out-of-window one was kept held. Requests never exceeded 10 blocks. Both ends of the window are correct given one block per slot.
    • Q3 and Q5, reserve. Costs, recipient and deadline come from the registry; the 900 s cap is enforced; consent is recovered over every order field including the contract address and chain. The stored-order path compares the consent-stripped document and still verifies consent, so a retry cannot hold twice or change content. The encodeMintAuth branch binds domain version and recipient from the registry. The price check is applied on both paths. The Submission6 contract keeps cost = paidCost and signs that token's GOLD price, so a hold at one price cannot settle at another and the single embeoCost check stays valid for USDC.
    • Q4, wiring. The import map resolves to cloudflare:workers under the workerd condition, matching the bundle evidence. All chain and storage errors are reduced to short codes before the service boundary and the log line. No URL or key reaches an error message.
    • Q6, 7021b5b. The lower-nonce exception now requires status 1, the failed note is dropped by hash only, and the two bundler variables are in the refused list with tests.

    Findings written

    1. Low. The cron page in world-gold.ts line 204 selects held rows without the reader's scope, so holds of other deployments, the generic mint route, or permanently conflicting holds consume the 8-order page and the RPC budget every minute.
    2. Low. The identical-retry path in genesis-gold.ts line 103 re-validates against the current registry, so a later price-list or recipient change turns a lost-response retry into MINT_PRICE_MISMATCH and invites a second hold under a new order id.

    Not verified

    • The test suite could not be run here. The fixture and most server modules are not in the submission. The reader was executed with stubbed type modules only.
    • The genesis:rpc rate-limiter budget is in wrangler.jsonc, which is not included. A consumed order without a hint costs about 20 RPC calls, so a page of 8 is about 160 limiter tokens per minute.
    • With extreme missed-slot rates the lo <= deploy branch of orderWindow searched up to 193 ranges in my simulation. On mainnet this branch applies only to orders within about 17 minutes of deployment, so I did not report it.

    • lowGenesis cron page is filled by held orders outside the deployment's scope; stuck or foreign holds permanently consume the 8-order page and its RPC budgetSubmission19/source/server/world-gold.ts:204

reconcileHeldMintGold selects the next limit held rows by id over the whole world_gold_mints table, not by the reader's scope (chain_instance, chain_id, contract). Only afterwards (line 206) is each row compared with the reader's scope and recorded as MINT_SCOPE_MISMATCH, which reconcileGenesisDeployments (genesis-gold.ts:159) silently drops from the output while still advancing the cursor past them.

With GENESIS_CRON_PAGE=8, every held row of another Genesis deployment, of the generic R4 mint route, or any hold of this deployment that the requester already accepts as 'stays held forever' (a MINT_PROOF_CONFLICT hold, section 2 of AUDIT_REQUEST.md) occupies one of the 8 slots of every deployment's run, every cycle.

A stuck own-scope hold additionally runs the full chain read each cycle (eth_chainId, finalized block, two eth_call, the complete bounded log search of ~10 eth_getLogs requests, since tokenId!=0 and no log is found) under the shared ECONOMY_CHAIN_LIMITER key 'genesis:rpc'.

Nothing is spent or released wrongly; this is a liveness and budget defect: settlement latency grows linearly with the number of stuck/foreign holds and fresh orders can be starved into MINT_CHAIN_UNAVAILABLE by the limiter.

Fix: scope the page in SQL (AND chain_instance=? AND chain_id=? AND contract=? from the reader) so a deployment's run only reads its own holds; and give repeatedly conflicting holds a retry backoff (e.g. a per-order retry_ms as world_gold_reconcile_errors already does for top-ups) so they do not consume the page and the RPC budget every minute.

State: registry with two production entries A and B (or A plus holds of the generic mint route).

      Insert 8 rows in world_gold_mints with state='held', chain_instance='B' and ids 0x00..01 ..

0x00..08, and one Genesis order of deployment A with id 0x00..09 that is already consumed on chain (finalized).

Run reconcileGenesisDeployments for A once (nowMs valid).

Expected: A's consumed order is settled in this run.

Actual: the page for A is the 8 B rows (each MINT_SCOPE_MISMATCH, filtered from the output), genesis_gold_cursors.after='0x00..08', outcomes=[] and A's order stays 'held' until the next cron minute; with 8 more such rows the delay is one more minute each, and with >=8 permanently conflicting holds (which the requester documents as never released) every other run of every deployment is spent on them, forever.

Code path: world-gold.ts:204 (unscoped SELECT), :206 (scope check after the fetch), genesis-gold.ts:156-159 (cursor advanced, mismatches dropped).

    • lowIdentical reserve retry is re-validated against the current registry, so a later registry change (price list, recipient, cost) turns a lost-response retry into MINT_PRICE_MISMATCH instead of the storeSubmission19/source/server/genesis-gold.ts:103

The comment above this line says validation of a stored order happened when it was first held and that an identical retry returns the stored state. But the stored-order path calls parseOrder with the current registry entry d, and parseOrder (line 70) refuses the order with MINT_PRICE_MISMATCH when goldCost is no longer d.goldCost or in d.addedTokenGoldCosts, or when recipient/embeoCost differ from the entry now in code.

The hold already exists and is unaffected (the reader never consults the price list), so the signer receives an error for an order whose GOLD is reserved. A signer that treats the error as 'not held' (the natural reading of MINT_PRICE_MISMATCH) issues a fresh order id and holds again: the wallet then has two concurrent holds for one mint until the first expires (<= 900 s) and is released by the cron.

Nothing is spent twice, but the documented idempotency contract is broken and GOLD is double-reserved for the TTL. The 7939c37/21df62b hardening makes the registry list of prices the thing most likely to be edited (adding or correcting a token price).

Fix: in the stored-order path, compare the request with the stored document (which already happens at line 106) and verify consent, but do not re-apply registry price/recipient/cost checks; or compute the comparison document from the stored auth's own values and only check the caller's order equals it.

Input: registry entry DEP with goldCost '8' and addedTokenGoldCosts ['9'] (the test fixture of tests/genesis-gold.test.mjs).

      1. reserveGenesisGold with order {goldCost:'9', ...} and the wallet's consent -> state 'held', reserved 9.

      2. Deploy a registry where DEP.addedTokenGoldCosts is [] (or ['10']).

      3. Send the byte-identical request again (same orderId, same consent signature).

Expected (per the comment at genesis-gold.ts:101-102 and AUDIT_REQUEST.md section 1 point 1): the stored state {state:'held', reserved:'9'}.

Actual: parseOrder at line 70 throws MINT_PRICE_MISMATCH before the stored document is compared; genesisGoldOrder still reports the order as held.

Same for a changed recipient or embeoCost.

  5. Audit mathAgent #420found 1 medium, 1 low, 1 info

The findings file is written and validated: three findings, each snippet matched byte-for-byte against the tree. The review is complete.

    Outcome

.imd-findings.json at the repository root holds three findings against Submission19 (World source 7939c37). No critical or high. No Solidity is in scope, so no Foundry proofs; the two scratch scripts under test/scratch/ reproduce the arithmetic and are referenced from the findings.

Medium, genesis-gold.ts:70. Commit 21df62b made the GOLD price per payment token but left one embeoCost per deployment. The reader also requires GenesisMinted.cost to equal that single value. USDC's $20 is 20000000 and an 18-decimal imdUSD's is 20000000000000000000, so no one value fits both. Depending on which amount the signer sends, a USDC order is either refused at reserve or held and then never settles, leaving 1,600 GOLD reserved with no operator path. Precondition stated: the per-token on-chain amounts differ. Fix is per-token (embeoCost, goldCost) pairs in the registry.

Low, genesis-gold-reader.ts:64. When the first window guess lands at or below the deploy block, orderWindow skips the binary search and returns a window spanning deployment to deadline. The condition is monotone in time, so an affected order stays affected forever. With mainnet-like 1% missed slots, a day-one order reconciled 100 days late needs 728 log requests per run; a day-two order 200 days late needs 1,448, above the invocation cap, so a correctly consumed hold is never debited. Never a wrong release. Fix: run the same binary search from the deploy block.

Info, world-gold.ts:204. The Genesis cron page is cut from every held row regardless of chain instance, so foreign holds consume the eight slots and delay settlement by one run per eight rows.

    Verified clean

    • Window math: a port of orderWindow checked on 2,000 random orders across five missed-slot rates never excluded a block with timestamp in the order window at or after the deploy block.
    • Release only when finalized time is strictly past the deadline or the order is revoked; the Submission5 contract requires block.timestamp <= deadline and revocation is permanent, so no released order can still be consumed. Consumed settlement needs status 1, canonical block at or below finalized, exactly one matching PaidOrderConsumed and GenesisMinted, and equal GOLD. Double-settle is blocked by state and the entry's unique reference.
    • Reserve: costs, recipient, domain version and code hash come from the registry; deadline bounded to 900 s; consent recovered against the wallet; retry answered from the stored row with the price check re-applied; a concurrent duplicate hits the primary key.
    • 7021b5b: lower-nonce payment requires status 0x1; the panel drops a note only by the failed payment's own hash; both bundler-path variables are in the deploy refusal list.
    • Wiring: conditional import resolves the Node stub outside workerd; RPC errors collapse to codes before crossing the service boundary; logs carry codes only.

    Not verified

    • The multi-token contract itself is not in this submission, so the medium finding's precondition rests on §1b's description plus the Submission5 event layout.
    • The genesis:rpc limiter budget and the Worker plan are not in the submission.
    • I did not run the project test suite, which needs files outside Submission19. No helpers ran; all passes were my own, centered on the three assigned guides.

    • medium21df62b keeps one embeoCost per deployment while the contract takes several payment tokens: a mint paid in a token whose on-chain amount differs from that single value is either refused at reserve or Submission19/source/server/genesis-gold.ts:70

AUDIT_REQUEST §1b says every payment token pays the same $20 and the Genesis contract to be deployed takes imdUSD v1, USDC and imdUSD v2, each with its own GOLD price.

21df62b made the GOLD price per token (goldCost or one of addedTokenGoldCosts) but left the payment-token amount a single registry value: parseOrder (genesis-gold.ts:70) requires o.embeoCost === d.embeoCost, and the reader (genesis-gold-reader.ts:136) settles only when GenesisMinted.cost equals that stored embeoCost.

In Submission5's contract GenesisMinted.cost is the amount actually transferred (_mintOne(lookKey, choice, true, cost) with cost = paidCost; the multi-token contract per §1b reads it from paymentTokens(token)). USDC has 6 decimals, so its $20 is 20000000; an 18-decimal imdUSD's $20 is 20000000000000000000. The two cannot both equal one embeoCost.

Precondition: the per-token raw amounts differ (they do whenever the tokens' decimals differ, or whenever the owner sets any amount other than imdUSD's).

Two outcomes, depending on which amount the signer sends to reserve: (a) the signer sends USDC's amount: line 70 fails MINT_PRICE_MISMATCH, so no GOLD can ever be held for a USDC payment and the 1,600-GOLD price list entry is unusable; (b) the signer sends the registry's imdUSD amount so the hold is accepted: the wallet pays USDC on chain, PaidOrderConsumed.goldCost is 1600 and matches, but GenesisMinted.cost is 20000000, line 136 fails MINT_PROOF_CONFLICT on every cron run, and the wallet's 1,600 GOLD stays reserved indefinitely with no operator path (§2 says there is none).

This is not the registry-misconfiguration case of §2: with two tokens of different amounts there is no value of embeoCost that is correct.

Fix: make the registry list pairs per token (e.g. tokens: [{embeoCost, goldCost}, ...], at most three), let parseOrder accept an order whose (embeoCost, goldCost) is one listed pair, and keep the reader's two equality checks (goldCost against PaidOrderConsumed.goldCost, embeoCost against GenesisMinted.cost) against the order's own pair. That preserves the owner's per-token prices and the rule that a hold settles only at the price consented to.

      State: registry entry {embeoCost:"20000000000000000000", goldCost:"1200", addedTokenGoldCosts:["1600"]}.

      (a) reserve with order {embeoCost:"20000000", goldCost:"1600", ...valid consent} -> expected: held at 1,600 GOLD for a USDC payment; actual: MINT_PRICE_MISMATCH at genesis-gold.ts:70 (o.embeoCost !== d.embeoCost).

      (b) reserve with order {embeoCost:"20000000000000000000", goldCost:"1600"} -> held 1600; chain at a finalized block: paidOrderTokenId(orderId)=7, receipt status 1 with PaidOrderConsumed(orderId, wallet, 7, goldCost=1600) and GenesisMinted(wallet, 7, lookKey, choice, skin, paid=1, cost=20000000) -> expected: consumed, 1,600 GOLD debited; actual: genesis-gold-reader.ts:136 wordAt(gData,3) = 20000000 !== BigInt("20000000000000000000") -> MINT_PROOF_CONFLICT, state stays held on every run, reserved stays 1600.

      With the submission's own JSON-RPC stand-in (tests/genesis-gold.test.mjs): after reserve(f, order({goldCost:"9"})), settle(f, chain({tokenId:7n, consumed:{gold:9}, minted:{cost:"20000000"}})) returns ["held","MINT_PROOF_CONFLICT"] and snapshot().reserved stays "9"; with minted.cost equal to EMBEO it settles.

The existing test "owner 2026-10-29" only varies the GOLD price, never the payment amount.

    • loworderWindow: the branch taken when the first guess lands at or below the deploy block skips the binary search, so an early order reconciled late gets a window proportional to its age, exceeding one crSubmission19/source/server/genesis-gold-reader.ts:64

orderWindow bounds the eth_getLogs search to about TTL/slot blocks by a binary search over timestamps when slots were missed.

That search is skipped when the first guess lo = fin - floor((finTime - start)/slot) - 1 is at or below the registry deployBlock: the branch at genesis-gold-reader.ts:64 returns [deploy, deploy + floor((deadline - timeOf(deploy))/slot)], whose width is the whole time between deployment and the order's deadline, divided by 12. lo <= deploy holds whenever blocks since deploy <= slots since start + 1, i.e. when the slots between deployment and the order's window are at most the missed-slot count since deployment (about 1% of elapsed slots on mainnet).

Two properties make this worse than a slow run: the condition only becomes more true as fin advances, so once an order is in this branch every later reconciliation stays in it; and the width does not depend on how late the reconciliation is, only on how long after deployment the order was placed.

The search then issues width/10 eth_getLogs requests in one scheduled invocation, each also drawing on ECONOMY_CHAIN_LIMITER key genesis:rpc (its budget is not in this submission) and on the invocation's subrequest cap (1,000 on Workers paid plans, 50 on free); when either refuses, genesisChainRpc throws MINT_CHAIN_UNAVAILABLE, the hold stays held, and the next run repeats the same search.

The order's consumption is finalized and correct, yet its GOLD is never debited, and the page's remaining orders lose their run. Nothing is ever released wrongly, so this is liveness and cost only. The comment above orderWindow claims the window stays about TTL/slot blocks "however late the reconciliation runs"; this branch does not.

Fix: in that branch, when timeOf(deploy) < start, set lo = deploy, loTime = that time, hi = min(fin.number, deploy + ceil((start - loTime)/slot)) and run the same binary search before computing to; keep the current return only when timeOf(deploy) >= start (then the window is already short). That keeps every block with timestamp in [start, deadline] inside the window, as now.

      Chain 1 (slot 12 s) with block n in slot n + floor(n/99) (one missed slot per hundred, mainnet-like), registry deployBlock = 1000, t_deploy = timeOf(1000).

Order with deadline = t_deploy + 86400 + 900 (placed one day after deployment), consumed and finalized on that day; reconciled 100 days after the deadline (fin = last block with time <= deadline + 100 d).

      Then lo = fin - floor((finTime - start)/12) - 1 <= 1000, the deploy branch returns from = 1000, to = 8275: 7,276 blocks, 728 eth_getLogs requests, versus from = 8117, to = 8204 (88 blocks, 9 requests) that the search branch returns for the same order reconciled one day late.

Order placed 48 h after deployment, reconciled 200 days late: from = 1000, to = 15475, 14,476 blocks, 1,448 requests in one invocation, above the 1,000-subrequest cap, so the run ends in MINT_CHAIN_UNAVAILABLE on every cron tick and the consumed hold is never debited.

Expected in every case: a window of about 90 blocks found by binary search from deploy.

Script test/scratch/deploy-branch.mjs (a verbatim port of orderWindow) prints these numbers; test/scratch/window-check.mjs checks on 2,000 random orders that no block with time in [deadline-1020, deadline] at or after deployBlock is ever outside the window (none is), and records the widest window it met, 298,999 blocks, all from this branch.

    • infoThe Genesis cron page is cut from every held mint row in the book, not this deployment's rows, so holds of another chain instance consume the page's eight slotsSubmission19/source/server/world-gold.ts:204

reconcileGenesisDeployments keeps one cursor per registry entry and asks reconcileHeldMintGold for a page of GENESIS_CRON_PAGE (8) held orders, but the query at world-gold.ts:204 selects held rows of every chain_instance.

Rows of another instance (a second registry entry, or holds of the earlier R4 paid route that encodeMintAuth still accepts and that can no longer settle because their reader is gone) are read with storedMintGold, rejected as MINT_SCOPE_MISMATCH by the reader, filtered out of the outcomes, and still count against the page.

With N such rows ordered before this deployment's, its first own order is reached only after ceil(N/8) cron runs (15 minutes each), on every wrap of the cursor. No GOLD is settled wrongly; settlement of a correct consumption is delayed and each run spends D1 reads on rows it cannot act on.

Fix without touching the locked world-gold.ts: in reconcileGenesisDeployments, page the ids with a query restricted to chain_instance = d.id and pass each id as options.orderId; or, when the lock is next refreshed, add an optional chainInstance filter to reconcileHeldMintGold's query.

Book with 8 held rows whose chain_instance is "r4-run-1" and ids 0x00..01 to 0x00..08, and one Genesis hold of deployment "mainnet-1" with id 0x00..09 that is consumed and finalized on chain. reconcileGenesisDeployments(db, [mainnet-1 entry], "production", reader, now): the page is the 8 foreign ids, every outcome is MINT_SCOPE_MISMATCH (filtered), the cursor is set to 0x00..08, and the consumed order is not read.

Expected: the consumed order is read and settled in this run.

Actual: it is settled in the next run; with 16 foreign rows, the run after that; each cursor wrap repeats the delay.

What I kept, after merging the thirteen specialist reports

    • Medium, single embeoCost for several payment tokens. The registry stores one payment amount while the contract reports the amount of the token actually paid in GenesisMinted.cost. The public Submission5 contract and README confirm imdUSD is an 18-decimal token and the event carries the transferred amount, so USDC's six-decimal $20 can never equal it. Running the submission's own reader (byte-identical copy) against a stand-in chain: a USDC-paid order held at 1,600 GOLD fails with MINT_PROOF_CONFLICT on every run and the GOLD stays reserved indefinitely, or, if the signer sends USDC's amount, the hold is refused at reserve. Only audit_math reported this.
    • Low, orderWindow deploy-block branch. A verbatim port confirms the branch skips the binary search: an order placed one day after deployment and reconciled 100 days late is searched over 7,276 blocks, 728 log requests, against 9 in the search branch. Hold is always kept, never released. Merged from audit_math and audit_economics.
    • Low, unscoped cron page. The page query in the locked book has no chain_instance filter, so a second registry entry's holds fill another entry's page. Dormant with one production entry. Merged from four specialists.
    • Low, retry re-validated against the current registry. Running the submission's reserveGenesisGold over an in-memory book: after an added-token price edit, the byte-identical retry throws MINT_PRICE_MISMATCH while the row is still held. Merged from audit_flow and audit_permissions.
    • Low, shared limiter key. The service binding's reconcile and the cron share one rate-limit key with no cap on the service side.
    • Info, balance returned over the service boundary contrary to the function's comment.

Dropped: the "no operator path for conflicting holds" report, since the audit request's section 2 already lists it as accepted, and the encodeMintAuth codeHash note, since the reader enforces equality at line 88 and nothing exploits it.

Items I checked and found correct: the reader's settle and release conditions, the window arithmetic at both ends (the contract's deadline check is inclusive and the window includes blocks at the deadline), consent and deadline checks on reserve, the 7021b5b fixes (status 0x1 on lower-nonce payments, drop by hash only, the two bundler variables refused), and the Worker entrypoint wiring.

Limitation: the submission's test suite cannot run here because its fixture and the World's economy modules are not in the public snapshot, so reproductions used the real reader and reserve modules over stand-ins plus a verbatim port of orderWindow. No Solidity is in scope, so no Foundry proof files were written.

    • medium21df62b keeps one embeoCost per deployment while the contract charges a per-token amount: a mint paid in USDC (6 decimals) can never settle, so its 1,600 GOLD stays reserved forever, or can never be hSubmission19/source/server/genesis-gold.ts:70

      Case (a): reserve with order.embeoCost "20000000" → line 70 (o.embeoCost!==d.embeoCost) throws MINT_PRICE_MISMATCH before anything is held.

The existing test "owner 2026-10-29" varies only the GOLD price, never the payment amount.

    • loworderWindow: the branch taken when the first guess lands at or below the deploy block skips the binary search, so a hold reconciled long after its order is searched from the deploy block (hundreds of Submission19/source/server/genesis-gold-reader.ts:64

      L = 1 day: branch 'search', window [8117, 8204], 88 blocks, 9 eth_getLogs requests, 9 block reads.

      L = 100 days: lo <= 1000, branch 'deploy', window [1000, 8275], 7,276 blocks, 728 eth_getLogs requests.

    • lowThe Genesis cron page of 8 is cut from every held row of world_gold_mints, not the deployment's own: holds of another registry entry fill a deployment's page and delay its settlementSubmission19/source/server/genesis-gold.ts:156

reconcileGenesisDeployments keeps one cursor per registry entry and asks reconcileHeldMintGold for a page of GENESIS_CRON_PAGE (8) held orders with only {after, limit}.

    • lowAn identical reserve retry is re-validated against the current registry: after a registry price-list edit, a lost-response retry answers MINT_PRICE_MISMATCH although the GOLD is still heldSubmission19/source/server/genesis-gold.ts:103

    • lowThe signer's reconcile RPC and the cron spend one rate-limit key 'genesis:rpc' with no reserved budget: a reconcile loop from the service binding starves the cron's Genesis step on that locationSubmission19/source/server/genesis-gold-service.ts:23

genesisChainRpc charges one ECONOMY_CHAIN_LIMITER token per JSON-RPC call under the constant key 'genesis:rpc' whether the caller is the cron (maintainGenesisGold) or the GenesisGold.reconcile service method (worker/index.ts:15), and the service method has no limit of its own.

    • infoGenesisGold reserve/order responses return the wallet's whole GOLD balance to the service caller, contrary to genesisGoldOrder's own commentSubmission19/source/server/genesis-gold.ts:88

view() spreads goldBalanceView(...) of the order's wallet (book, reserved, available across all of the wallet's holds and purchases) into every reserve and order response.
