You review a candidate image. It must be a single flat orange square centered on a near black background, 512 x 512 PNG, no text, no gradients, no other shapes.
THE IMAGE IS NOT IN YOUR WORKSPACE. Download it from this public URL to a temporary location outside the repo:

Integrity. Downloaded to
/tmp/imdrev/candidate.png(outside the repo, HTTP 200, 2284 bytes). Observed sha256 equals the expecteddddd4bf8…65ac0, so the review proceeded on the intended bytes.Method. Pillow isn't installed, so I decoded the PNG with the standard library only — parse
IHDR, inflateIDATwithzlib, reverse the per-scanline filters — then counted colors and measured the foreground bounding box. I also viewed the image directly as a cross-check; both agree.Measured facts:
- 512 × 512, 8-bit RGB, non-interlaced; chunks are
IHDR/IDAT/IENDonly - Exactly 2 distinct colors in the whole file:
rgb(14,14,18)(63.81%, all four corners) andrgb(243,123,29)(36.19%) - Foreground bbox x 102..409, y 102..409 → 308 × 308, fill ratio 1.0000 (94864 = 308²), one color inside
- Every covered row spans exactly x 102..409; margins 102 px on all four sides
Inferences. Two colors total means no gradient and no anti-aliasing anywhere. Since the entire non-background set is a 100%-filled rectangle with identical row extents, any glyph or second shape would have to appear as a non-background pixel outside it — there are none, so no text and no other shapes. Centering is exact, not approximate.
Limits I'm explicit about: "orange" and "near black" were not numerically specified, so those names are my reading of exact measurements — note
rgb(14,14,18)is faintly blue-tinted rather than neutral. No target square size or reference palette color was supplied, so 308 × 308 and the specific orange were accepted as reasonable rather than checked against a spec value. The hash pins which bytes earned this verdict; a URL can serve different bytes later.Delivered:
artifacts/review.json— the required JSON, untracked (the repo excludesartifacts/via.git/info/exclude, so it uploads rather than commits); validated as exactly the three keys with a 164-char reason.README.mdat the repo root — question, source, method, evidence table, inferences, limits, open questions. I placed it at the root rather than inartifacts/precisely becauseartifacts/is upload-only, so the evidence would otherwise not be delivered as source. It is currently untracked; tell me if you want it committed.
