Work

  1. Posted6 minto the first attempt
  2. Build websiteAgent #76047 files changedsent back

I've brought the previous Squeek Beat-the-AI site into this workspace, made four small fixes from a design review, and rebuilt it. The updated dist/ export is ready to replace the build at squeek-beat-the-ai-predictor.imd.site. Game rules, scoring, feed handling and the browser save format are unchanged, so players keep their progress.

The workspace started empty, so I copied in the full tree from the previous job's repo. Before changing anything I re-ran every check on that untouched copy and all of them passed.

    What changed

    • Link previews: og:image was the relative path ./social.png, which many link-preview tools don't resolve. It is now the full URL on the live site (https://squeek-beat-the-ai-predictor.imd.site/social.png). I also added og:url, the image's size and alt text, and a canonical link. The live site currently serves that image correctly. Everything else in the page still uses relative paths, so it keeps working on IPFS gateways.
    • Round header on phones: at 390px wide, "Waiting for settlement" was squeezed into two lines next to the countdown. It now sits on one line above it.
    • Feed error message: it said "Wheel feed offline. Retrying automatically. Automatic retries use a gradual backoff." Now the heading is "Live feed unavailable" and the text gives the cause and says once that it retries.
    • Scoreboard: "You" appeared twice, inside the avatar and in the caption under it. The avatar now shows a person icon instead.

    Checks on the final build

    • Typecheck is clean, all 61 unit tests pass, and the production build succeeds.
    • All 14 Chromium tests pass. They cover the full practice game, saving and art downloads, a two-browser friend duel, settlement results, stale and offline feeds, and layouts at 320, 390 and 1440px wide. The accessibility audit found no problems, and no JavaScript errors were thrown.
    • The design probe passes 16/16. On the 390px screenshot, the game and its main action are on the first screen.
    • The live Squeek API still uses the same data formats, and the app's own code reads it correctly (open round 617, LIVE wheel, as of about 02:36 UTC today).

The submission is 47 files and about 1.48 MB, well under the 8 MiB limit, and dist/ is not excluded by .gitignore.

Not checked: Safari (WebKit isn't available here), a session with a real screen reader, right-to-left layout, and real 200% browser zoom.

README.md has a new "Changes in this update" section, DESIGN.md describes the changed parts, and the full results with file and line references are at the top of VALIDATION.md.

    • Met: “Continue the existing Squeek Beat-the-AI Predictor site, not a new project or launch.” Existing arena remains in src/App.tsx; src/storage.ts retains the save key.
    • Met: “Continue from completed IMD job 3f8539ac-d327-494f-9f07-acf232e54e08.” README.md identifies that continuation and documents the update.
    • After review: “Ship the updated build to the same site and domain.” dist/ is present; canonical and Open Graph URLs target the existing domain. Publication remains pending.

The visual idea is a friendly hamster prediction game presented as a warm paper arcade with pixel characters.

Two verified findings are saved in .imd-findings.json:

    • High — bug: A friend invitation pushes the lock button below the 390×844 first screen, to y=853–899.
    • Medium — bug: The First Call toast covers the “Duel a friend” button and intercepts its central tap area.

Chromium practice and mocked live-duel flows completed. WebKit could not launch because required libraries were unavailable. Website files remain unchanged.

    • highbug: a friend invitation pushes the prediction action below the first phone screensrc/App.tsx:568

Now: A valid friend-duel link adds a 121px invitation plus a 20px bottom margin above the arena while retaining the full introductory hero. At 390×844, the enabled Lock my prediction button starts at y=853.25, entirely below the first screen.

Change to: In the phone friend-duel entry state, omit the existing intro-row and close its space so navigation, the complete invitation and the arena move up together; retain the round, friend call, deadline and local/editable-link disclosure. Keep the ordinary entry headline.

Why: The review bar requires the game and its main action on the first screen at 390px. This is the first visit reached through the game’s own share link, and its time-limited action is hidden.

      Chromium, 390×844, fresh browser contexts.

      Serve dist over HTTP.

Use the schema-valid test/fixtures responses with the mockedData/mockFeed helpers in test/browser.mjs at 2026-11-08T12:05:00Z (installation sepolia-browser-test-only; open round 101 closes at 12:10).

In context A choose Nap, lock, press Duel a friend, and copy .share-field input.

Open that URL in fresh context B with the same feed and clock, without scrolling.

Expected: the recipient can see the main lock action on the opening screen.

Actual: .duel-notice is x=16,y=254.671875,w=358,h=121; the primary button is x=33,y=853.25,w=324,h=46, ending at y=899.25 against an 844px viewport.

The same ordinary live entry without the invitation places the button at y=712.25–758.25.

Screenshot confirmed that the recipient sees brackets at the bottom and no lock button.

    • mediumbug: the first achievement toast covers the phone duel controlsrc/style.css:1359

Now: Locking the first live prediction shows a persistent First Call toast over the newly revealed Duel a friend button. Its fixed bottom placement hides the button label and intercepts taps in that part of the button until the visitor dismisses the achievement or scrolls.

Change to: On phones, render the existing achievement notice in normal document flow immediately after the call controls and remove its fixed bottom placement; keep the status announcement and dismiss control. Let the Professor strip and later content move down by the notice height while it is present.

Why: A success notification must leave the next action readable and operable; floating controls must not cover page text. This occurs on the primary game surface after its first successful action.

Chromium, 390×844, fresh local storage, scrollY=0.

Serve dist and use the schema-valid live feed/clock setup from test/browser.mjs at 2026-11-08T12:05:00Z.

Choose Nap and press Lock my prediction; leave the First Call notification open.

Expected: the Duel a friend label and hit target remain unobscured.

Actual: the toast rectangle is x=12,y=772,w=232,h=60 and the share button is x=33,y=772.25,w=324,h=42.

Their intersection is 211×42px, covering the button label and its centre (195,793.25).

Screenshot confirms the dark toast lies over the share control.

The notification has no automatic timeout; dismissal or scrolling is required to expose the covered area.

A direct touchscreen tap at (195,793.25) left .share-field absent (count 0); document.elementFromPoint at that coordinate returned div.toast, confirming interception without Playwright’s automatic scrolling.

  4. Build websiteAgent #111611 files changed

Fixed both phone layout defects, added regression checks, rebuilt dist/, and wrote .imd-responses.json.

Build, typecheck and all 61 unit tests pass. Supplied-browser checks confirmed both fixes. Shell Playwright/taste could not launch Chromium; the live host’s CSP also needs IMD attention. Both limitations are recorded in VALIDATION.md.

  5. Design criticAgent #1876found nothing

Both findings from last round are fixed, and I found nothing new I could reproduce. .imd-findings.json holds an empty list ({"findings":[]}). I checked everything in Chromium only; WebKit (Safari) would not launch on this machine.

    Requirements

    • "Continue the existing Squeek Beat-the-AI Predictor site, not a new project or launch": met. It is the same project: README.md and the index.html title and og:title are unchanged.
    • "Continue from completed IMD job 3f8539ac…": met. The fixes are small changes to the existing src/App.tsx and src/style.css; nothing was rebuilt from scratch.
    • "Ship the updated build to the same site and domain": after review (IMD handles hosting after this review).

The idea: a calm, warm-paper game board where you predict a real hamster's next round of work against a visible AI rival. The pixel-art wheel is its one device.

    Earlier findings

    • [high] A friend's invitation pushed the lock button off the first phone screen: fixed. I opened a duel link in a fresh browser at 390×844 with the test fixtures and the 2026-11-08T12:05:00Z clock:
      • The invitation now sits at y=126–247 and the enabled Lock my prediction button at y=724.6–770.6.
      • The deadline line ends at y=795.6, with no scrolling.
      • The invitation still says "Round #101 · Friend called Nap", that shared calls are editable in the link, and that results are local and do not sync.
      • The page heading is hidden on screen but still in the page for screen readers (.intro-row.duel-entry-intro, src/style.css:1779).
      • Without an invitation, the hero still shows and the lock button sits at y=712.25. Nothing scrolls sideways at 390 or at 320.
    • [medium] The First Call toast covered the Duel a friend button: fixed. On phones the notice is now part of the page flow below the call controls (src/style.css:2291):
      • The Duel a friend button stays at y=772.25–814.25, and the notice now sits below it at y=852.25.
      • The element at the button's centre (195, 793.25) is now the button itself.
      • A raw touchscreen tap there opens the share link with the notice still showing.

    Limits of this check

    • WebKit not run. The only WebKit build on this machine (2370) does not match the installed Playwright, so it would not launch. Everything above is Chromium only.
    • Taste probe ran without live data. The probe loads the export without the mocked feed, so the round shows "#?". That doesn't affect any of the checks above.

My scratch screenshots were deleted, and no repository files were changed apart from the findings file.
