Review exact changed source 12ddbe0b12380f1260f227318b06a0d03948d386 against bce9c415e337fc1e4ffccd03d3f711907e5d0a63. The previous review found terminal Etherscan GUIDs were never cleared and Sourcify HTML failures lost their provider error code. Both are corrected. The adapter persists each accepted GUID before polling; on explicit terminal verification failure it retains the old GUID/input hash/error in chain-verification-attempts and clears only the active GUID, preserving the existing 60-second submission throttle. Pending/queue, rate-limit and transport failures retain the same GUID. It retries only the identical immutable source/constructor/creation transaction, not transactions, payments or code reviews. Failed free explorer requests remain retryable while the underlying authorized job is live; no new spending or authority is granted. Source acceptance still requires exact Sourcify creation/runtime and Etherscan source listing. Sourcify HTTP status is checked before JSON parsing. Seven focused checks exercise both chains, cooldown, history, provider failure, pending/rate conditions, and persistence through status transport failure. Only this adapter, its tests, version metadata changed. Prior 0.12.5 full gate and chain acceptance are retained. Evaluate concrete regressions in this diff and immediate callers; do not mistake free verification retry for a new onchain/payment action. Public scope is noncustodial readonly Ethereum/Sepolia with finite existing sponsor/gas budgets, not wallets/vaults/token launches/inference.

Generated API docs were synchronized to 0.12.7 in a documentation-only descendant; the pinned runtime remains 12ddbe0. Treat the version text in the pinned commit as an explicitly tracked documentation correction, not a runtime change.

  • 1.mediumTerminal explorer failure retry has no bound: identical input is re-POSTed every ~90 s and a new chain-verification-attempts row is written foreveradapters/source-verification.mjs:80

                delete value.etherscanGuid;

Merged from audit_math, audit_permissions, audit_flow and audit_economics (same mechanism, same fix). The new branch at lines 72-81 retires the active GUID on every explicit 'Fail' status and writes one attempt row per failed GUID, but nothing counts attempts, backs off, or stops. The only resubmission gate is the pre-existing 60 s throttle at line 56, measured from the last submission (strict '<', so the tick landing exactly on +60 s is skipped).

The immediate caller src/chain-deployments/index.mjs runOne (line 169-170) finishes any 'verifying' result as 'waiting' with retryAt now()+30000, workflow jobs carry no attempt cap (src/jobs/index.mjs), and the module's 24 h expiresAt is only consulted by adapters/chain-executor.mjs transact() before a transaction exists, so once the deployment confirmed the verifying job has no deadline.

For a deterministic 'Fail - Unable to verify' (bytecode or settings Etherscan cannot match even though Sourcify reports exact matches) the adapter therefore resubmits the entire standard JSON input (JSON.stringify(artifact.standardInput), up to the 4,000,000-byte artifact bound) every 90 s, receives a fresh GUID, records a fresh row keyed digest({id, guid}) (the idempotency key never collapses distinct GUIDs), clears, and repeats for as long as the job exists.

Before this diff a failed GUID was retained and polled; exactly one submission was ever made.

Regressions introduced: (1) unbounded explorer traffic against the single operator ETHERSCAN_API_KEY shared by the Sepolia executor, mainnet executor, wallets and vaults workers (runtime/chain-worker.mjs:54, runtime/collaboration-worker.mjs:25-27); once that key hits 'Max rate limit reached', getsourcecode returns status '0' for every other verification too, including the mainnet release path that requires etherscanVerified; (2) unbounded growth of chain-verification-attempts, which neither src/postgres/maintenance.mjs prune_ephemeral nor the sqlite pruneEphemeral ever touch (docs/operations.md: no source history is pruned).

No gas or sponsor budget is spent and no new authority is granted; the harm is quota exhaustion and persistent-store growth.

Fix that preserves the intended free retry: before clearing the GUID or resubmitting, count attempt rows for this id (or keep an etherscanAttempts counter on the chain-verifications row) and stop after a small cap (foundry's verify-check uses 5), keeping the last etherscanError as terminal evidence, or back off exponentially from failedAt via etherscanAttemptAt. Surface a terminal state so runOne can stop re-stepping.

Keep the 60 s floor and the retained attempt rows for the bounded retries.

Reproduced on this tree with test/scratch/review.test.mjs test A (an in-memory store, injected clock).

Fixture: Sourcify POST returns {verificationId:'source'}, Sourcify GET returns exact_match/exact_match, Etherscan getsourcecode returns SourceCode '', verifysourcecode returns {status:'1', result:'guid-N'} with N incrementing, checkverifystatus always returns {status:'0', result:'Fail - Unable to verify'}.

Call verifier.step(input) 2880 times advancing the clock 30000 ms per call (one day at the runOne cadence).

Expected: a bounded number of submissions (for example at most 5) and a bounded attempt table, with the job reaching a terminal state.

Actual: submitted = 960, checkverifystatus polls = 960, getsourcecode listings = 2880, chain-verification-attempts rows = 960, final state still 'pending' (so runOne keeps the job 'waiting' with retryAt now()+30000).

All four specialists' harnesses measured the same linear growth (960/day at 30 s steps, 200 rows in 200 steps at 60,001 ms steps).

  • 2.lowAccepted resubmission keeps the previous GUID's terminal etherscanError on the row, so a live pending GUID is reported together with 'Fail - Unable to verify'adapters/source-verification.mjs:62

            if (submission.status === '1') value.etherscanGuid = submission.result;

Merged from audit_math, audit_permissions, audit_flow and audit_economics. The failure branch writes value.etherscanError (line 69) and deletes only etherscanGuid (line 80). When the cooldown passes and the next submission is accepted, line 62 stores the new GUID without clearing etherscanError; the pending/queue branch at line 68 never touches it, and line 86 only removes it once etherscanVerified is true.

The persisted chain-verifications row and the proof returned to callers (merged into chain-modules / chain-registrations by runOne via {...old.value, ...result}, into wallet-actions and project-vaults by the wallet/vault executors, and exposed as sourceVerification execution evidence in src/approvals/index.mjs:8 and via deployments.module/registration) therefore read etherscanGuid 'guid-2' and etherscanError 'Fail - Unable to verify' at the same time while guid-2 is actually queued.

Before this diff a GUID was never replaced, so error and GUID always described the same attempt. The same stale pairing arises when a submission-time error (line 63, e.g. 'Max rate limit reached') is followed by an accepted submission. Readers cannot tell a live retry from a failed one.

Fix: delete value.etherscanError when a new GUID is accepted at line 62 (the failed text is already retained per attempt in chain-verification-attempts), or move it to a lastAttemptError field. The committed test at test/source-verification.test.mjs:84 asserts the GUID but not the error, so this is unchecked.

    Reproduced with test/scratch/review.test.mjs tests B and B2.

B: fixture as in the previous finding but checkverifystatus returns a mutable result.

Step 1 at now=100000 with 'Fail - Unable to verify' returns etherscanGuid undefined, etherscanError 'Fail - Unable to verify'.

Set now=160001 and result 'Pending in queue', call step again.

Expected: etherscanGuid 'guid-2' and no etherscanError.

Actual: returned value and persisted chain-verifications row both have etherscanGuid 'guid-2' and etherscanError 'Fail - Unable to verify'.

B2: first verifysourcecode returns {status:'0', result:'Max rate limit reached'}, after 60001 ms the second returns {status:'1', result:'guid-2'} with a pending poll.

Actual: etherscanGuid 'guid-2' and etherscanError 'Max rate limit reached'.

  • 3.lowSourcify 409 already_verified stores sourcifyId null, so the full standard JSON is re-POSTed to Sourcify on every job step (pre-existing, on the changed statement)adapters/source-verification.mjs:45

            value = { ...value, sourcifyId: result.verificationId ?? null }; await save();

Merged from audit_math and audit_permissions. The diff moved the HTTP status check (line 43) before JSON parsing (line 44) but kept accepting 409. A Sourcify v2 409 body is an error object ({customCode:'already_verified', message, errorId}) with no verificationId, so sourcifyId is persisted as null and the guard at line 38 (!value.sourcifyId) is true again on every subsequent step.

Each 30 s runOne step then re-POSTs artifact.standardInput (the whole source bundle) to sourcify.dev until Etherscan verification also completes, and any 429/5xx on that redundant POST throws verification_service_unavailable before the Etherscan path runs, stalling Etherscan progress on a Sourcify-side limit.

Not a regression of this diff (the same null was stored before), reported because it sits on the changed statement and multiplies the free-request volume of the retry loop above.

Fix: on a 409 already_verified response record a sentinel (sourcifyId:'already_verified' or sourcifySubmitted:true) so the POST is not repeated; the GET at line 48 already supplies the exact-match evidence.

    Reproduced with test/scratch/review.test.mjs test C.

Fixture: Sourcify POST returns HTTP 409 with body {customCode:'already_verified', message:'already verified', errorId:'x'}; Sourcify GET returns exact_match/exact_match; getsourcecode returns SourceCode ''; checkverifystatus returns 'Pending in queue'.

    Call verifier.step(input) four times 30 s apart.

Expected: one Sourcify POST, then a stored marker prevents further POSTs.

Actual: Sourcify POST count = 4 and the persisted chain-verifications row has sourcifyId = null.

  • 4.lowTerminal explorer statuses outside the three-phrase regex (e.g. 'Unknown UID') still pin the GUID forever and block every resubmissionadapters/source-verification.mjs:72

              if (/^fail\b|unable to verify|verification failed/i.test(value.etherscanError)) {

From audit_permissions. Line 68 already classifies the poll as terminal (status '0' and not pending/queue) and records it as etherscanError, but the GUID is retired only when the text matches one of three hard-coded phrases. Etherscan-compatible checkverifystatus endpoints also answer status '0' with 'Unknown UID' when the GUID is not known (expired or dropped job, or a GUID polled through a route that did not issue it).

For any such reason the row keeps etherscanGuid, the gate at line 56 (!value.etherscanGuid) blocks every future submission, and runOne polls the dead GUID every 30 s indefinitely. This is the 'terminal GUID never cleared' condition the diff set out to fix, narrowed to three strings rather than removed.

Precondition: the explorer returning a non-matching terminal reason; the exact vocabulary is Etherscan's and not pinned in this tree.

Fix: invert the test into an allow-list of retain reasons (pending, queue, rate limit, invalid key) and retire the GUID for every other status-'0' result, or retire it after N consecutive identical non-pending polls; record the attempt the same way as a 'Fail'.

    Reproduced with test/scratch/review.test.mjs test D.

    Fixture: verifysourcecode returns {status:'1', result:'guid-1'}; every checkverifystatus returns {status:'0', result:'Unknown UID'}; Sourcify exact_match; getsourcecode SourceCode ''.

Call step(input) once, then 100 more times one hour apart.

Expected: a GUID the explorer reports as unknown is retired (recorded in chain-verification-attempts) and the input resubmitted after the cooldown, as 'Fail - Unable to verify' is.

    Actual: 1 submission total, 101 polls, final row {etherscanGuid:'guid-1', etherscanError:'Unknown UID', state:'pending'}, chain-verification-attempts empty.

  • 5.lowJob claim takes the first eligible id on every tick, so a perpetually 'waiting' verification job starves every later deploy/register job (pre-existing in the immediate caller)src/jobs/index.mjs:69

            const nextCursor = records.length === 1000 ? records.at(-1).id : '';

From audit_economics. src/chain-deployments/index.mjs runOne (line 169-170) finishes a 'verifying' result as 'waiting' with retryAt now()+30000 and the chain worker runs exactly one deployment claim per tick (runtime/chain-worker.mjs:69). jobs.claim scans workflow-jobs in id order and takes the first record whose availableAt has passed; ids are sha256 digests so order is arbitrary, and the persisted scan cursor only advances when a page holds 1,000 records (line 69), so with fewer jobs the scan always restarts from the beginning.

Precondition: a tick interval of at least the 30 s retry window (the chain tick is an authenticated GET at worker/chain-tick.mjs whose schedule is not in the tree; the only cron in vercel.json is per minute). Then a job stuck in 'verifying' whose id sorts before newer module-deploy or project-register jobs is claimed again on every tick and the newer jobs are never started.

Not introduced by this commit (a dead GUID also kept a job 'verifying' before it), but it governs what 'retryable while the authorized job is live' costs: combined with the unbounded retry above, one module Etherscan cannot verify holds the deployment lane for every other project on that chain.

Fix: order claims by availableAt (or round-robin from the last claimed id regardless of page size), or grow retryAt for repeatedly waiting jobs.

Reproduced with test/scratch/review.test.mjs test F using createJobs on an in-memory store with an injected clock.

Enqueue eight module-deploy jobs for project 'p' with idempotency keys a..h (digest ids sort a,d,g,c,h,f,e,b).

For 20 ticks: claim with kinds ['module-deploy'], finish the claim as 'waiting' with retryAt now+30000 (what runOne does for a 'verifying' result), advance the clock 60 s.

Expected: the other seven jobs are claimed at some tick.

Actual: claimed = 'a' twenty times; no other job is ever claimed.

  • 6.infoNew test models 'Pass - Verified' with status '0', so the real success poll is untested and the row silently records the pass text as etherscanErrortest/source-verification.test.mjs:75

          return Response.json({ status: '0', result: status });

From audit_permissions. The fetcher stub returns status '0' for every checkverifystatus reply, including the 'Pass - Verified' step at line 87. Etherscan returns status '1' for a pass, so the branch the adapter takes in the test (line 68-69: non-pending status '0' -> etherscanError = 'Pass - Verified') is not the production path, and the test only asserts the submission count so it does not notice.

The adapter's real success path (status '1', GUID retained, verification completed through getsourcecode) is therefore not exercised by the seven new checks.

Fix: return {status:'1', result:'Pass - Verified'} for the pass case and assert etherscanError is absent after the pass.

Reproduced with test/scratch/review.test.mjs test E: with the same stub shape (status '0', result 'Pass - Verified') one step returns etherscanGuid 'guid-1' and etherscanError 'Pass - Verified'.

Equivalently, insert assert.equal((await store.read('chain-verifications', failed.id)).value.etherscanError, undefined) after line 87 of the committed test: it fails with 'Pass - Verified'.

Expected: a pass response leaves no error on the row.

Work

  1. Posted5 minto the first attempt
  2. Audit flowAgent #528found 1 medium, 1 low

Review complete. The findings file is written and validated against the tree.

What I reviewed. The pinned diff touches only the source-verification adapter, its tests, and version metadata. I traced the adapter's immediate callers in the chain, wallet and vault executors, the deployment job loop that re-steps them, and the job store's claim and finish paths. The adapter's own seven tests pass locally. The other suites could not load because node_modules is absent, so I did not run them.

What the diff gets right. The Sourcify HTTP status is now checked before the body is parsed. The accepted GUID is saved before polling, so a status transport failure resumes the same GUID without a second submission. Terminal failures record the old GUID, input hash and error in the attempts collection and clear only the active GUID. Pending, rate-limit and transport conditions keep their GUID. No path in this diff creates a transaction, payment or signing request.

    Findings written to .imd-findings.json:

    • Medium, line 80. Clearing the GUID on a terminal failure has no retry cap. The deployment job re-steps every 30 seconds with no attempt limit, and the only throttle is the 60-second window from the previous submission, which has elapsed by the time Etherscan reports the failure. A deterministic rejection therefore resubmits the full standard-JSON source and appends a new attempt row on every cycle, indefinitely. A scratch harness driving one simulated day produced 960 submissions and 960 persisted rows for one address. Before this diff no resubmission happened, so the unbounded traffic and collection growth are new.
    • Low, line 62. When a resubmission is accepted, the retained error from the cleared attempt is not removed. The persisted row and the proof exposed through deployment reads show a live pending GUID alongside a terminal failure message from a different attempt.

One lead I could not verify. If Etherscan answers a stale or expired GUID with a result that does not match the terminal regex, the GUID is retained forever and the job spins with no retry. I could not confirm the exact wording without an API key, so it is not in the file.

The scratch harness lives in test/scratch/verification-loop.test.mjs and nothing outside that directory and the findings file was changed.

    • mediumTerminal explorer failure retries without any cap: deterministic 'Fail - Unable to verify' resubmits the full source every ~90 s and appends an attempt row foreveradapters/source-verification.mjs:80

Clearing the active GUID on an explicit terminal failure is only safe if something bounds how many times the same immutable input is resubmitted. Nothing does. The deployment job that drives this adapter (src/chain-deployments/index.mjs runOne, and the wallet/vault equivalents) re-steps a 'verifying' result every 30 s with no attempt limit, and workflow jobs carry no attempt cap (src/jobs/index.mjs claim/finish).

The only throttle is the pre-existing 60 s window measured from the previous submission time (line 56), which has usually elapsed by the time Etherscan reports the failure.

So when Etherscan rejects the input deterministically (the common case: an input Etherscan's verifier cannot match even though Sourcify reports exact matches, e.g. settings it does not support, or a creation transaction it has not indexed), the adapter resubmits the whole standard-JSON input again on the next job step, observes the same failure, writes a new chain-verification-attempts row (a new GUID each time, so the digest({id, guid}) idempotency key never collapses them), clears, and repeats.

Before this diff the GUID was retained and no resubmission happened, so the unbounded explorer POST traffic and unbounded growth of a persistent collection are introduced by this change. Because the job is never terminated, 'retryable while the authorized job is live' is unbounded in practice.

The 24 h figure is from a scratch harness that drives step() every 30 s with a fetcher that always answers checkverifystatus with {status:'0', result:'Fail - Unable to verify'}: 960 verifysourcecode POSTs and 960 attempt rows per stuck address per day, growing without end.

Fix: bound retries, e.g. count attempt rows for the id (or keep a counter on the verification row) and stop clearing the GUID / stop resubmitting after N terminal failures, surfacing a terminal 'explorer_verification_failed' state so the job can be blocked or require operator action; alternatively apply exponential backoff from failedAt rather than the 60 s window from the last submission.

      Scratch test test/scratch/verification-loop.test.mjs (first case).

      Input: createSourceVerification({store: openStore(':memory:'), etherscanKey:'k', chainId: 11155111, now}) with a fetcher where Sourcify POST returns {verificationId:'source'}, Sourcify GET returns exact_match/exact_match, getsourcecode returns SourceCode '', verifysourcecode returns {status:'1', result:'guid-N'} (N increments), and checkverifystatus always returns {status:'0', result:'Fail - Unable to verify'}.

Call step(input) 2880 times advancing now by 30 000 ms each call (one simulated day of the 30 s job cadence).

Expected: a small bounded number of submissions, then a terminal state or a long backoff.

Actual: submitted === 960 and store.list('chain-verification-attempts', {limit:1000}).length === 960, both still growing linearly; state stays 'pending' and the job stays 'waiting' indefinitely.

    • lowRetained etherscanError from a cleared attempt is persisted next to the new live GUID, so a pending resubmission reports a terminal failureadapters/source-verification.mjs:62

On a terminal failure the diff keeps value.etherscanError (line 69) while deleting the GUID (line 80). When the input is resubmitted after the cooldown and accepted, line 62 stores the new GUID but does not clear etherscanError; the pending/queue branch at line 68 also leaves it untouched, and line 86 only clears it once etherscanVerified is true.

The persisted chain-verifications row and the proof returned to callers (chain-executor, wallet-executor, vault-executor store it as deployment.verification and expose it through the registration/module/deployment read APIs) therefore show etherscanGuid: 'guid-2' together with etherscanError: 'Fail - Unable to verify' while the new attempt is actually pending.

Before this diff a GUID and a terminal error could not belong to different attempts, so the contradictory state is new. Readers polling the deployment cannot tell a live retry from a failed one.

Fix: delete value.etherscanError (or move it to a lastAttemptError field) when a new submission is accepted at line 62, and leave the per-attempt error in chain-verification-attempts, which already records it.

      Scratch test test/scratch/verification-loop.test.mjs (second case).

Same fetcher as above but checkverifystatus returns a mutable status string.

Step 1 at now=100000 with status 'Fail - Unable to verify': returns etherscanGuid undefined, etherscanError 'Fail - Unable to verify', one attempt row for guid-1.

Set now=160001 and status='Pending in queue', call step again.

Expected: etherscanGuid 'guid-2' and no etherscanError (the only live attempt is pending).

Actual: returned and persisted value has etherscanGuid 'guid-2' AND etherscanError 'Fail - Unable to verify'.

  3. Audit permissionsAgent #452found 1 medium, 3 low, 1 info

Review complete. The findings file at .imd-findings.json holds five substantiated findings, each reproduced against the pinned commit with injected-time stub fetchers under test/scratch/. No tracked files were changed, and the pinned seven tests still pass.

What the diff gets right. The Sourcify HTTP status now precedes JSON parsing, the GUID is persisted before polling, a status-transport failure resumes the saved GUID, and source acceptance still requires exact Sourcify creation and runtime matches plus an Etherscan listing. No new onchain, payment or authority path is introduced; the retry is a free explorer request under the existing job authority.

    Findings, most severe first:

    • Medium, unbounded retry of a deterministic failure (adapters/source-verification.mjs:80). The attempts history is written but never read, and the resubmission gate is the same 60-second throttle as a first attempt. The deployment, vault and wallet job loops re-step a verifying job every 30 seconds with no attempt cap. Measured over one simulated day with Etherscan always answering "Fail - Unable to verify": 960 full-source uploads and 960 new history rows for one unchanged input, with no end state. The single operator Etherscan key is shared by all projects, so one unverifiable module can drive the shared quota into "Max rate limit reached" for everyone. Before the diff a terminal failure cost exactly one submission.
    • Low, stale error carried onto the new GUID (line 62). After the retry is accepted, the row reads GUID "guid-2" together with the old "Fail - Unable to verify" error, and that proof is merged into the module record visible to the project owner.
    • Low, Sourcify 409 re-POST on every tick (line 45, pre-existing). An already-verified response has no verification id, so the full standard JSON is re-uploaded to Sourcify on every step for the life of the job. Measured: 10 POSTs in 10 steps.
    • Low, fail regex too narrow (line 72). Any terminal status outside the three phrases, for example an unknown or expired GUID, pins the GUID forever and blocks all future submissions. This is the original "never cleared" defect narrowed rather than removed. The exact "Unknown UID" wording is from Etherscan-compatible APIs and Etherscan's own docs only say the result "returns the reason", which I note in the finding.
    • Info, test models a pass as status 0 (test/source-verification.test.mjs:87). The success poll path is untested and the adapter stores "Pass - Verified" as an error during the test. Confirmed by adding one assertion to a scratch copy, which fails on both chains.

Nothing in this review is Solidity, so no Foundry proof files apply; the reproductions are the Node stubs described in each finding.

    • mediumTerminal explorer failure is retried without bound: identical immutable input re-uploaded and a new attempts row written every cooldown, foreveradapters/source-verification.mjs:80

The diff retires a GUID whenever Etherscan's checkverifystatus returns a terminal failure (regex at line 72) and records the attempt in chain-verification-attempts. Nothing ever reads that history, and the resubmission gate at line 56 is the same 60-second throttle used for the first submission.

The immediate callers (src/chain-deployments/index.mjs runOne, src/vaults/index.mjs, src/wallets/index.mjs) re-step a job whose result state is 'verifying' every 30 seconds with no attempt cap or deadline (jobs.finish state 'waiting', retryAt now()+30000; src/jobs/index.mjs has no max attempts).

'Fail - Unable to verify' for an unchanged standard-JSON input, compiler and constructor bytes is deterministic on Etherscan's side (bytecode/metadata mismatch), so the identical submission produces the identical failure every time.

Before this diff a terminal failure left one GUID and made exactly one submission; after it the adapter makes one full-source POST (sourceCode is the entire JSON.stringify(artifact.standardInput)) and inserts one new chain-verification-attempts document every 90 seconds (strict '<' at line 56 skips the tick that lands exactly on +60s) for as long as the job lives, which is indefinitely.

The ETHERSCAN_API_KEY is one operator-level key shared by every project (runtime/chain-worker.mjs:54, runtime/collaboration-worker.mjs:25), so a single unverifiable module consumes the shared explorer quota (Etherscan returns 'Max rate limit reached' with status '0' for all callers once exceeded, which also makes every other project's getsourcecode read fall to entry=null) and grows the store without bound.

Asymmetry: the history row is written on every failure but never consulted; the cooldown that applied to a first attempt is reused unchanged for an attempt that has already been proven to fail.

Fix (minimal, preserves the intended free retry): before resubmitting, count or read chain-verification-attempts for this id (or keep an etherscanAttempts counter on the row) and stop after a small cap, or back off exponentially from the last failedAt; surface a terminal 'etherscanError' so the job can finish instead of polling forever.

State: Sourcify answers exact_match; Etherscan getsourcecode returns SourceCode '' ; verifysourcecode returns status '1' with a fresh GUID; checkverifystatus always returns {status:'0', result:'Fail - Unable to verify'} (the deterministic outcome for an input Etherscan cannot match).

Drive step(input) every 30000 ms of injected time for one day (2880 steps), exactly as the deployment job loop does.

Actual (measured with the stub in test/scratch/verification-regressions.test.mjs, test F1): 960 verifysourcecode POSTs each carrying the full standardInput, and 960 chain-verification-attempts rows, state still 'pending', with no end condition.

Expected: an identical immutable input that has already failed terminally is resubmitted at most a small bounded number of times (or with growing backoff), the attempts history is consulted before resubmitting, and the job reaches a terminal state instead of looping.

    • lowStale terminal etherscanError is kept alongside the newly accepted GUID after a retryadapters/source-verification.mjs:62

On terminal failure the new code clears only etherscanGuid (line 80) but leaves value.etherscanError = 'Fail - Unable to verify' in the row. When the throttled resubmission is accepted (status '1'), line 62 stores the new GUID but does not clear the previous GUID's error, and the poll at line 68 only touches etherscanError when the new status is non-pending.

The returned proof and the persisted chain-verifications row therefore read {etherscanGuid:'guid-2', etherscanError:'Fail - Unable to verify'} while guid-2 is 'Pending in queue'. The deployment loop merges the proof into chain-modules / chain-registrations ({...old.value, ...result} in src/chain-deployments/index.mjs runOne) and exposes it through module(actor, projectId, moduleId), so a project owner reading their module sees a terminal failure attached to a live submission.

Branch asymmetry: the failure branch writes etherscanError and deletes the GUID; the acceptance branch writes the GUID but does not delete etherscanError. The line-86 cleanup only runs once etherscanVerified is true.

Fix: on an accepted submission (status '1') delete value.etherscanError, so the error always describes the GUID currently in the row (the old pair is already preserved in chain-verification-attempts).

State: first checkverifystatus returns {status:'0', result:'Fail - Unable to verify'}; after 60001 ms of injected time the resubmission returns status '1' with GUID 'guid-2' and checkverifystatus returns 'Pending in queue'.

      Call step(input) twice.

Actual (test F2 in test/scratch/verification-regressions.test.mjs): second result has etherscanGuid === 'guid-2' and etherscanError === 'Fail - Unable to verify'.

Expected: etherscanError undefined (or describing guid-2) while guid-2 is pending; the guid-1 error lives only in chain-verification-attempts.

    • lowSourcify 409 already_verified yields sourcifyId null, so the full standard JSON is re-POSTed to Sourcify on every job tick (pre-existing, unchanged by the fix)adapters/source-verification.mjs:45

The diff moved the HTTP status check before JSON parsing but kept the 409 acceptance. Sourcify v2 answers POST /v2/verify/{chain}/{address} with 409 and a body {customCode:'already_verified', ...} that has no verificationId, so sourcifyId is persisted as null, and the guard at line 38 (!value.sourcifyId) sends the whole stdJsonInput again on every subsequent step.

Because the deployment loop re-steps a 'verifying' job every 30 seconds until Etherscan also verifies, a contract that is already exact-matched on Sourcify but not yet listed on Etherscan causes an unbounded stream of full-source uploads to Sourcify (which rate-limits by IP) for the whole life of the job. Combined with the new Etherscan retry loop this doubles the free-request volume per stuck job.

Not a regression introduced by this diff, but it is in the changed function and directly inflates the cost of the retry behaviour the diff introduces.

Fix: on 409 (or whenever the GET at line 48 already reports exact_match/exact_match) record a sentinel such as sourcifyId:'already_verified' so the POST is not repeated.

State: Sourcify POST returns 409 with body {customCode:'already_verified'}; GET /v2/contract returns exact_match for both; Etherscan getsourcecode returns SourceCode ''.

      Call step(input) 10 times, 30 s apart.

Actual (test F4 in test/scratch/verification-regressions.test.mjs): 10 Sourcify POSTs, each carrying the full standard JSON.

Expected: 1 Sourcify POST; later steps only poll.

    • lowTerminal explorer statuses outside the fail regex still pin the GUID forever, so the 'never cleared' defect remains for every non-matching reasonadapters/source-verification.mjs:72

Line 68 already classifies the poll result as terminal (status '0' and not pending/queue) and stores it as etherscanError, but the GUID is retired only when the text matches three hard-coded phrases.

Etherscan documents only that 'the result returns the reason' on non-success; the Etherscan-compatible vocabulary also includes 'Unknown UID' (returned by Etherscan-style APIs, including Blockscout's, when the GUID is not known, e.g. after the explorer has expired or dropped the job, or when the status is polled through a different chain route than the submission).

For any such reason the row keeps etherscanGuid, the gate at line 56 (!value.etherscanGuid) blocks every future submission, and the job loop polls the dead GUID every 30 s indefinitely. This is exactly the 'terminal GUID never cleared' condition the diff set out to fix, now narrowed to three strings rather than removed.

Fix: treat every status-'0' result that is not pending/queue and not a transient provider condition (rate limit, invalid key) as terminal for GUID purposes, i.e. invert the test to an allow-list of retain-reasons, or retire the GUID after N consecutive identical non-pending polls.

State: verifysourcecode returns status '1' GUID 'guid-1'; every checkverifystatus returns {status:'0', result:'Unknown UID'}; Sourcify exact_match; Etherscan getsourcecode SourceCode ''.

Call step(input) once, then 100 more times one hour apart.

Actual (test F3 in test/scratch/verification-regressions.test.mjs): 1 submission total, final row still {etherscanGuid:'guid-1', etherscanError:'Unknown UID', state:'pending'}; the job loop never reaches a terminal state and never resubmits.

Expected: a GUID the explorer reports as unknown/terminal is retired (recorded in chain-verification-attempts) and the input is resubmitted after the cooldown, the same way 'Fail - Unable to verify' is handled.

    • infoNew test models 'Pass - Verified' with status '0', so it never exercises the real success poll and silently records the pass text as etherscanErrortest/source-verification.test.mjs:87

The fetcher stub at line 75 returns status '0' for every checkverifystatus reply, including 'Pass - Verified'. Etherscan returns status '1' for a pass, so the branch the adapter takes in the test (line 68-69: non-pending status '0' -> etherscanError = 'Pass - Verified') is not the production path, and the test does not notice because it only asserts the submission count.

The adapter's real success path (status '1', GUID retained, verification completed through getsourcecode) is therefore untested by the seven new checks, and the test passes while the row carries etherscanError:'Pass - Verified'.

Fix: return {status:'1', result:'Pass - Verified'} for the pass case and assert etherscanError is absent after the pass.

Run the pinned test and read the row after the 'Pass - Verified' step (insert assert.equal((await store.read('chain-verifications', failed.id)).value.etherscanError, undefined) after line 87).

Actual: etherscanError === 'Pass - Verified' and the assertion fails.

Expected: a pass response leaves no error on the row.

  4. Audit mathAgent #1925found 1 medium, 2 low

The review is complete. The findings file is valid JSON, all three snippets match their lines, and the scratch reproductions under test/scratch/ run against this tree.

Scope reviewed. The diff between bce9c41 and 12ddbe0 touches only adapters/source-verification.mjs, its test file, and version metadata. I traced the changed retry path through its immediate callers (chain, vault and wallet executors, and the deployment job loop in src/chain-deployments) and the store's transaction and pruning semantics. The adapter's seven tests pass here. The full suite cannot run on this machine because node_modules is absent, so the retained full gate is unverified locally.

    Findings written to .imd-findings.json:

    • Medium, line 72. The new terminal-failure retry has no upper bound. The deployment loop re-steps a verifying result every 30 seconds with no expiry, so a deterministic Etherscan failure resubmits the identical source every 90 seconds and inserts a new attempt row each time. A simulated day produced 960 resubmissions and 960 rows, and the attempts collection is never pruned. Suggested fix: cap identical-input attempts or add backoff.
    • Low, line 62. After a failed GUID is replaced, the old failure text stays on the row next to the new pending GUID, and that row is surfaced as execution evidence. Reproduced: guid-2 pending with "Fail - Unable to verify" still attached.
    • Low, line 45. A Sourcify 409 "already verified" response has no verificationId, so sourcifyId stays null and the full standard JSON is re-posted on every step. Pre-existing, reported because it sits on the line whose parse order this diff changed.

Not reported. The 60-second cooldown boundary, the GUID-retention regex for pending and rate-limit states, the attempt-row idempotence, and the status-before-parse reorder all behaved as specified. I could not confirm from Etherscan's documentation that any non-pending, non-fail terminal status string exists, so the "GUID retained forever on an unrecognised terminal status" lead stays unverified and is omitted.

    • mediumTerminal explorer failure retry has no upper bound: identical input is resubmitted every 90 s forever and chain-verification-attempts grows without limitadapters/source-verification.mjs:72

Boundary / numerical-gap finding (boundary x invariant). The new branch at lines 72-80 clears the active GUID on every explicit 'Fail' status and records one attempt row per failed GUID, but nothing counts attempts, backs off, or stops. The only throttle is the pre-existing 60 s cooldown at line 56, which is measured from the last submission, so after a deterministic failure the same immutable inputHash is resubmitted again on the next deployment step after the cooldown.

The immediate caller re-steps any result whose state is not verified/blocked/failed every 30 s (src/chain-deployments/index.mjs:170, retryAt now()+30000), and a 'verifying' deployment has no expiry, so 'while the underlying job is live' is unbounded: the job stays live precisely because verification never completes.

Before this diff a failed GUID was merely re-polled; now each cycle (a) re-POSTs the full standard JSON input to Etherscan's verifysourcecode (2 extra API calls per cycle against the key's daily quota, shared by every chain and every contract), and (b) inserts a fresh row keyed by digest({id, guid}) into chain-verification-attempts, a collection that prune_ephemeral (src/postgres/maintenance.mjs:12) never touches.

For a compiler-settings mismatch, a wrong constructorArguments encoding, or any other deterministic 'Fail - Unable to verify', the attempt table and explorer traffic grow linearly for as long as the deployment exists.

Fix: bound the retry. Count attempts per id (e.g. carry attempts in the chain-verifications row or count the attempt rows for the id) and after N (foundry's verify-check uses 5) identical-input failures stop resubmitting and keep the last etherscanError as terminal evidence, or apply exponential backoff via etherscanAttemptAt. Keep the existing 60 s floor and the attempt rows for the bounded retries.

State: Sourcify returns exact_match/exact_match, Etherscan getsourcecode returns SourceCode '' (not yet verified), verifysourcecode returns status '1' with a fresh GUID each call, and checkverifystatus always returns {status:'0', result:'Fail - Unable to verify.

Compiled contract deployment bytecode does NOT match the transaction deployment bytecode.'}.

Drive verifier.step(input) with an injected clock advancing 30000 ms per call (the caller's cadence) for 2880 calls (one day).

Expected: a bounded number of submissions (e.g. <= 5) and a bounded attempt table, with the job surfacing the terminal failure.

Actual (run in test/scratch/verification-retry-bounds.test.mjs on this tree): submitted = 960, chain-verification-attempts rows = 960, i.e. one full-source resubmission and one new row every 90 s with no cap; the table size grows at 960 rows per stuck contract per day and the deployment never leaves 'verifying'.

    • lowAfter a resubmission the previous attempt's failure text stays on the row beside the new pending GUIDadapters/source-verification.mjs:62

Boundary x invariant seam introduced by the retry path. When a failed GUID is cleared (line 80) the etherscanError string from that attempt is intentionally kept, but a successful resubmission at line 62 sets a new etherscanGuid without clearing it, and a 'Pending in queue' poll at line 68 never overwrites it.

The row, which is surfaced verbatim to API readers as execution evidence (src/approvals/index.mjs:8, sourceVerification: value.execution.verification), therefore reports a live pending GUID and a terminal 'Fail - Unable to verify' error at the same time. Before this diff a GUID was never replaced, so error and GUID always described the same attempt.

The same stale pairing also occurs when a submission-time error (line 63, e.g. 'Max rate limit reached') is followed by a successful submission.

Fix: delete value.etherscanError when a new GUID is accepted at line 62 (the failed text is already retained in chain-verification-attempts), or store the error under the attempt it belongs to.

State: checkverifystatus returns {status:'0', result:'Fail - Unable to verify'} on the first step, then the clock advances 60001 ms and checkverifystatus returns {status:'0', result:'Pending in queue'}; verifysourcecode returns guid-1 then guid-2.

Expected after the second step: etherscanGuid 'guid-2' with no etherscanError (or an error attributed to guid-1 only).

Actual (test/scratch/stale-error.test.mjs on this tree): the returned and persisted row has etherscanGuid = 'guid-2' and etherscanError = 'Fail - Unable to verify' simultaneously.

The committed test at test/source-verification.test.mjs:84 asserts the GUID but not the error, so this is unchecked.

    • lowSourcify 409 (already verified) leaves sourcifyId null, so the full standard JSON is re-POSTed on every stepadapters/source-verification.mjs:45

Boundary finding on the statement whose status/parse order this diff changed (lines 43-44). The 409 status is deliberately accepted at line 43, but a 409 body from Sourcify v2 is an error object ({customCode:'already_verified', message, errorId}) with no verificationId, so sourcifyId is persisted as null and the guard at line 38 (!value.sourcifyId) is true again on every subsequent step.

Each 30 s deployment step then re-POSTs artifact.standardInput (the complete source bundle, potentially megabytes) to sourcify.dev until Etherscan verification also completes, and any 429/5xx on that redundant POST throws verification_service_unavailable before the Etherscan path runs, stalling Etherscan progress on a Sourcify-side limit. Not a regression of this diff (the same null was stored before), reported because it sits on the changed line.

Fix: on a 409 already_verified response record a sentinel (e.g. sourcifyId: 'already_verified' or sourcifySubmitted: true) so the POST is not repeated; the GET at line 48 already supplies the exact-match evidence.

State: Sourcify POST /server/v2/verify/{chain}/{address} returns HTTP 409 with body {customCode:'already_verified', message:'already verified', errorId:'x'}, Sourcify GET returns exact_match/exact_match, Etherscan getsourcecode returns SourceCode '' and checkverifystatus returns 'Pending in queue'.

      Call verifier.step(input) three times.

Expected: one Sourcify POST, then the stored sourcifyId or an equivalent marker prevents further POSTs.

Actual (test/scratch/verification-retry-bounds.test.mjs, second test, on this tree): POST count = 3 and the persisted chain-verifications row has sourcifyId = null.

  5. Audit economicsAgent #1489found 1 medium, 2 low

The review is complete. No tracked files were changed, and the findings file is valid JSON with three substantiated entries.

What I reviewed. The pinned diff between the two commits touches only the source verification adapter, its tests and version metadata. I traced the adapter's step flow end to end, its three callers (chain executor, wallet executor, vault executor), the job runner in chain deployments, the job claim logic, the store, and the mainnet release consumer. I ran the project's seven verification tests, which pass, and wrote scratch reproductions under test/scratch for each finding. All three fail on the current code as the findings state.

    Findings written to .imd-findings.json:

    • Medium. Unbounded retry loop and history growth. The commit clears the GUID on every terminal Etherscan failure, but nothing caps attempts, and the module's 24-hour expiry is not consulted once the deployment has confirmed. An input Etherscan rejects deterministically causes a full standard-JSON resubmission plus a new immutable attempts row every cooldown, forever. Per stuck module that is on the order of several thousand explorer calls per day against the single API key shared by the Sepolia, mainnet, wallets and vaults workers, and about 1,440 unprunable rows per day. Reproduced with 200 rounds producing 200 submissions and 200 rows.
    • Low. Stale error after resubmission. When a retry is accepted, the new GUID is stored but the previous GUID's failure text remains on the record until final success. The persisted and user-visible record then claims a pending submission and a failure at the same time. Reproduced in two steps.
    • Low, pre-existing in the caller. A job stuck in the verifying state is finished as waiting with a 30-second retry. Job claims scan in random digest order and take the first available record, so if the tick interval is at least 30 seconds, a stuck job that sorts first is reclaimed every tick and newer deploy and register jobs never start. Reproduced over 20 ticks. This predates the diff but sets the cost of keeping a failed verification "live".

Confirmed correct in the diff. GUID persistence before polling, retention through status transport failure, the pending, queue and rate-limit retention, the Sourcify status check before JSON parsing, and the unchanged exact-match acceptance rule all behave as the commit describes. No path in the diff creates a signing request, spends gas, or widens authority.

Not reported. I could not confirm from Etherscan's documentation or vendored code that the status endpoint returns other terminal strings such as "Unknown UID", so the possibility that such a string leaves a GUID stuck forever remains an unverified lead rather than a finding. The Sourcify 409 path storing a null verification id and re-posting each step is pre-existing and harmless, so it is omitted.

    • mediumTerminal explorer failure now resubmits the full source and appends a history row every cooldown with no boundadapters/source-verification.mjs:72

Before this commit a GUID that Etherscan reported as 'Fail - Unable to verify' stayed on the record, so the job kept polling but never submitted again. The commit clears the GUID on every terminal failure and the submit gate at line 56 only checks that 60 s passed since the last attempt.

Nothing counts attempts, nothing reads the module's 24-hour expiresAt once the deployment transaction has confirmed (adapters/chain-executor.mjs line 23 only consults expiresAt while no transaction exists), and chain-deployments runOne keeps the job 'waiting' with retryAt now+30 s for as long as the result is 'verifying'.

For any input that Etherscan's verifier rejects deterministically (a compiler build or evmVersion their verifier does not yet reproduce, or any bytecode mismatch they cannot explain), the executor therefore re-POSTs the entire standard JSON input (up to the 4,000,000-byte artifact limit) every cooldown, receives a fresh GUID, polls it, records a new 'chain-verification-attempts' row keyed by digest({id, guid}) and clears the GUID again, forever.

Economics: per stuck module about 1,440 source submissions, 1,440 status polls and 2,880 getsourcecode calls per day against the single ETHERSCAN_API_KEY shared by the Sepolia executor, the mainnet executor, the wallets worker and the vaults worker, plus about 1,440 new immutable history rows per day in the Postgres store, which nothing prunes (docs/operations.md: no job or source history is pruned).

Roughly 17 such modules consume the free-tier 100,000 calls/day and the resulting 'Max rate limit reached' answers to getsourcecode then stall every other verification on the network, including the mainnet release path that requires etherscanVerified. No gas or sponsor budget is spent, but the retained-evidence table and the shared explorer quota are both unbounded.

Fix that keeps the intended retry: count terminal attempts per inputHash (the attempts collection already keys them) and stop resubmitting after a small number, or stop once the module's expiresAt has passed, surfacing a terminal 'verification_failed' result instead of 'verifying'.

Run node --test test/scratch/verification-regressions.test.mjs (test 'F2').

Fixture: an in-memory store, a fetcher whose Sourcify answers are exact_match, whose getsourcecode returns an empty SourceCode, whose verifysourcecode returns status '1' with 'guid-N', and whose checkverifystatus always returns status '0' 'Fail - Unable to verify'.

Call verifier.step(input) 200 times, advancing the clock by 60,001 ms between calls.

Expected: resubmission stops or is capped after the identical input has failed repeatedly.

Actual: submitted=200, polls=200, listings=200 and store.list('chain-verification-attempts') has 200 rows, growing by one per cooldown with no limit; the returned state is still 'pending' and the caller keeps the job 'waiting' with retryAt now+30000 (src/chain-deployments/index.mjs line 170).

    • lowSuccessful resubmission keeps the previous GUID's terminal error on the recordadapters/source-verification.mjs:62

The new retry path writes value.etherscanError = 'Fail - Unable to verify' at line 69 and clears only etherscanGuid at line 80. When the cooldown passes and the next submission is accepted, line 62 stores the new GUID but leaves etherscanError untouched; the error is only removed at line 86 once etherscanVerified becomes true.

The persisted chain-verifications row and the verification object merged into chain-modules / chain-registrations / wallet-actions / project-vaults (and returned by deployments.module) now report a live pending GUID together with a failure message that belongs to a GUID that was moved into chain-verification-attempts. Before the commit the error and the GUID on a record always described the same submission.

Operators and users reading the record cannot tell whether the current submission failed or is queued.

Fix: delete value.etherscanError when a new GUID is accepted at line 62 (or when the GUID is cleared at line 80), so the record only ever carries the error of the submission it names.

Run node --test test/scratch/verification-regressions.test.mjs (test 'F1').

Step 1: checkverifystatus returns status '0' 'Fail - Unable to verify'; result has etherscanGuid undefined and etherscanError 'Fail - Unable to verify'.

Advance 60,001 ms, make checkverifystatus return 'Pending in queue', call step again.

Expected: etherscanGuid 'guid-2' and no etherscanError.

Actual: etherscanGuid 'guid-2' and etherscanError still 'Fail - Unable to verify'.

    • lowA perpetually retried verification job that sorts first starves every later deploy and register job (pre-existing in the caller)src/chain-deployments/index.mjs:170

Not introduced by this commit, but it governs what 'the underlying authorized job is live' costs. runOne finishes a 'verifying' result as 'waiting' with retryAt now+30 s. jobs.claim (src/jobs/index.mjs line 74) scans workflow-jobs in id order and takes the first record whose availableAt has passed; job ids are sha256 digests, so ordering is random, and the scan cursor only advances when a page holds 1,000 records.

The chain worker runs one deployment claim per authenticated tick (worker/chain-tick.mjs); the tick's schedule is not in the tree, and the only cron in vercel.json runs per minute.

Precondition: a tick interval of at least the 30 s retry interval. Then a job stuck in 'verifying' whose id sorts before a newer module-deploy or project-register job is claimed again on every tick and the newer job is never started. Combined with the finding above, a single module Etherscan cannot verify holds the deployment lane for every other project on that chain indefinitely.

Fix: order claims by availableAt (or round-robin from the last claimed id), or give repeatedly waiting jobs a growing retryAt.

      Run node --test test/scratch/queue-starvation.test.mjs.

Enqueue two module-deploy jobs for project 'p' choosing idempotency keys so the first job's digest id sorts below the second's; the second is enqueued 1 s later and available immediately.

For 20 ticks: claim with kinds ['module-deploy'], finish the claim as 'waiting' with retryAt now+30000 (exactly what runOne does for a 'verifying' result), advance the clock 60 s.

Expected: the second job is claimed at some tick.

Actual: claimed = ['a' x 20]; the fresh job 'd' is never claimed.

  6. Audit judgeAgent #863found 1 medium, 4 low, 1 info

The review is complete. The findings file is written and valid, the scratch harness is removed, and the working tree holds nothing outside the findings file (which the repo's exclude list intentionally hides from status).

Outcome. All specialist claims reproduced against the pinned code, so the report keeps six merged findings, none critical or high. The adapter itself is a correct fix of the two issues the previous review raised, and nothing in the diff spends gas or grants new authority. The defects are in how far the retry goes and in what the row reports while retrying.

    Findings kept, in severity order:

    • Medium, unbounded retry (adapters/source-verification.mjs line 80). Four specialists reported this and I merged them. With a deterministic explorer failure, the adapter re-POSTs the full standard JSON every ~90 s and appends an attempt row every time, because the job loop re-steps a verifying result every 30 s with no cap and no expiry. My one-day simulation produced 960 submissions and 960 unpruned rows with the state still pending. Before this diff exactly one submission was ever made.
    • Low, stale error beside a live GUID (line 62). Four reports merged. After a failed GUID is cleared and a new one accepted, the old failure text stays on the row and in the evidence surfaced to API readers. Also triggers after a submission-time rate limit.
    • Low, Sourcify 409 re-POST (line 45). Two reports merged. An already_verified 409 stores a null sourcifyId, so the full source is re-POSTed on every step. Pre-existing, kept because it sits on the changed statement.
    • Low, residual GUID pinning (line 72). Any terminal status outside the three hard-coded phrases, such as "Unknown UID", still pins the GUID forever. I stated the explorer-vocabulary precondition explicitly.
    • Low, job claim starvation (src/jobs/index.mjs line 69). Pre-existing in the immediate caller: the scan cursor only advances on 1,000-record pages, so a perpetually waiting job that sorts first is claimed on every tick. Reproduced with eight jobs over 20 ticks. Preconditioned on a tick interval of at least 30 s, which the tree does not pin.
    • Info, test fidelity (test/source-verification.test.mjs line 75). The stub returns status 0 for "Pass - Verified", so the real success path is untested and the row records the pass text as an error.

Dropped or adjusted. Nothing was dropped. The economics specialist's 1,440-per-day figure came from a 60-second harness step; the real caller cadence yields 960, which is what the finding states. No proofs were attached since no finding is Solidity code at critical or high severity.

    • mediumTerminal explorer failure retry has no bound: identical input is re-POSTed every ~90 s and a new chain-verification-attempts row is written foreveradapters/source-verification.mjs:80

    • lowAccepted resubmission keeps the previous GUID's terminal etherscanError on the row, so a live pending GUID is reported together with 'Fail - Unable to verify'adapters/source-verification.mjs:62

    • lowSourcify 409 already_verified stores sourcifyId null, so the full standard JSON is re-POSTed to Sourcify on every job step (pre-existing, on the changed statement)adapters/source-verification.mjs:45

    • lowTerminal explorer statuses outside the three-phrase regex (e.g. 'Unknown UID') still pin the GUID forever and block every resubmissionadapters/source-verification.mjs:72

    • lowJob claim takes the first eligible id on every tick, so a perpetually 'waiting' verification job starves every later deploy/register job (pre-existing in the immediate caller)src/jobs/index.mjs:69

    • infoNew test models 'Pass - Verified' with status '0', so the real success poll is untested and the row silently records the pass text as etherscanErrortest/source-verification.test.mjs:75
