Build a small static web dashboard for Squeekchain (Sepolia testnet) that reads the public /v1/economy/state API and shows the current mining round, total SQK mined, live NFT count and the contract addresses, with a plain-language explainer for newcomers.

Read-only: no wallet connection, no keys, no transactions. Include a README.

Build and typecheck passed, plus 7 data tests, 27 Chromium checks, and 16/16 design checks. Bundle: 1.03 MiB.

WebKit could not launch and remains unverified. API failures and recovery are documented in the validation report. No data or results were fabricated.

    Not delivered: artifacts/api-unavailable.png, artifacts/bundle-check.json, artifacts/design-probe.json, artifacts/desktop.png, artifacts/interaction-results.json, artifacts/keyboard-focus.png, artifacts/mobile.png, artifacts/validation.md. Under artifacts/, only this step's named outputs leave the machine.

The visual idea is a compact economy instrument panel, carried by warm paper surfaces, dark numbers, orange controls, and a hamster wheel illustration.

    Saved three findings in .imd-findings.json:

    • Medium · bug: Initial API failure leaves “Confirmed on Sepolia” and “Reading the public API” visible. Replace these with accurate no-snapshot/no-success labels.
    • Medium · taste: Promotional headings and helper text obscure the dashboard’s direct purpose. Use “Squeekchain economy” and shorten the supporting copy.
    • Low · bug: Three README evidence links target absent files. Remove the broken references.

Validation passed: seven data tests, 27 Chromium checks, 27 WebKit checks, and live API reads in both browsers. No high or critical findings. Website files remain unchanged.

    • mediumbug: failed initial reads still claim confirmation and an ongoing API readsrc/App.tsx:29

Now: With no successful API response, the round card says “Confirmed on Sepolia”. After the request fails, the adjacent status text still says “Reading the public API”, even when automatic refresh is switched off and no request is running.

Change to: Replace the no-data round caption with “No confirmed snapshot”. For the no-checkedAt branch at line 153, show “Reading the public API” only while loading; otherwise show “No successful check yet”. Preserve the existing error notice and unavailable values.

Why: Loading and failure states must say only what the app knows. These labels currently claim confirmation and activity that have not occurred.

At 390×844 in Chromium, intercept https://api.squeekchain.com/v1/economy/state and fulfill the initial request with HTTP 503 and JSON {"error":"database_unavailable"}.

Load the production export, wait for role=alert, and uncheck Auto refresh.

Measured: exactly 1 API request, Refresh now enabled (loading=false), no successful snapshot, and the round value “Unavailable”.

Nevertheless, .last-checked reads “Reading the public API” at y=325.36 and .metric-round .metric-foot reads “Confirmed on Sepolia” at y=593.23; both are visible on the first screen.

Expected: no-check/no-snapshot labels until an actual successful response.

Actual: contradictory pending/confirmed labels remain after failure.

    • mediumtaste: dashboard headings and helper text use marketing voice instead of naming the tasksrc/App.tsx:146

Now: The dashboard opens with “The wheel, in numbers.” and “A public window into Squeekchain’s hamster-powered economy.” The read-only note adds “Just looking? You’re in the right place.” and the footer adds “A small wheel. An open record.”

Change to: Use “Squeekchain economy” as the h1 and “Mining rounds, SQK supply, and NFTs on Sepolia.” as its description. Shorten the existing note to “This dashboard is read-only.”, retain “No wallet needed.”, and delete the footer tagline; let the existing flex layouts close the removed text space. Keep the wheel illustration and current typography.

Why: This is a dashboard. The supplied copy bar requires plain task headings and no voice line; these four decorative lines compete with the otherwise direct metric labels.

At 390×844 and 1440×900, open the production export and wait for the API response.

Read the h1 and its paragraph, the note immediately below the metrics, and the footer.

The four quoted strings appear at src/App.tsx:146,159,167.

In the 390px screenshot the h1 starts near y=157 and both introduction lines precede the metric section at y=362.36.

Expected: a heading and description that name the economy data, with concise read-only guidance.

Actual: a metaphorical heading plus three additional pieces of marketing voice. taste@1 passes its numerical copy budget (18 prose words on the phone’s first screen); this is the separate dashboard-copy criterion, not a failed automated check.

    • lowbug: README links to three evidence files that are absent from the delivered treeREADME.md:51

Now: The README links readers to artifacts/validation.md, artifacts/mobile.png, and artifacts/desktop.png, but none of these files exists. DESIGN.md also repeatedly points to the absent validation report.

Change to: Remove the three missing-artifact links and the references to artifacts/validation.md in DESIGN.md. Keep the existing validation summary, limitations paragraph, and working DESIGN.md link.

Why: The requested README should lead readers to material included in the submission; these links currently prevent inspection of the advertised evidence.

At 1440×900, view the README in a Markdown renderer and follow “the review and actual limitations”, “mobile screenshot”, and “desktop screenshot” under “Validation performed”.

All three resolve to absent local paths.

From the repository root, Path("artifacts/validation.md").exists(), Path("artifacts/mobile.png").exists(), and Path("artifacts/desktop.png").exists() each return false (0 of 3 targets present); DESIGN.md exists.

Expected: each local evidence link opens its stated file.

Actual: none can resolve in this delivered tree.
