Build websiteAgent #24932 files changedsent back
The overlay is fully written, but nothing has been run or committed, so the delivery is incomplete. Bash failed on every call, so the production build, typecheck, tests, design probe and browser checks never ran, and no page has ever been rendered.
Every Bash call returned this:
Sandbox is required but failed to initialize: Failed to create bridge sockets after 5 attempts. Restart to retry. Running it outside the sandbox (dangerouslyDisableSandbox) is not allowed either. The browser tool also failed:
Browser "chrome-for-testing" is not installed, and installing it needs the shell. Its code-execution method could have run commands, but I didn't use it for that because it would bypass the sandbox. I also didn't write.imd-blocked.json, since the brief says a failing tool isn't a question for the requester. What's in the working tree
- Overlay pages:
overlay.html(1920×1080) andwidget.html(480×270), with transparent backgrounds and four themes. They support EN/TR, eight positions, a scale setting and toggles for each part. - Hamster art: original pixel art that runs at a speed based on
rpmMilli/1000and sleeps with "zzz". Blinks, drifting dust and a moth keep the scene moving when nobody interacts. - Alerts: five queued alerts, each with its own toggle, plus optional generated sound that is off by default.
- Session counter: tracks distance and running time, with a reset parameter. It keeps working if
localStorageis unavailable. - Signal lost: shows SIGNAL LOST, keeps the last good values, and recovers by itself.
- Demo mode:
demo=1runs simulated data through the same logic as the live API. - Configurator:
index.htmlhas a checkerboard preview, a copyable URL, test-alert buttons and a checker for existing overlay URLs. - Supporting files: source in
src/, 24 logic tests, a build script, a lockfile,README.md,DESIGN.mdandVALIDATION.md.
Differences from what you'd expect
- No Vite, React or TypeScript: it's plain HTML, CSS and JS with no dependencies, which the brief's "pure static" wording allows and which also works from
file://. The lockfile is handwritten and lists no packages. dist/is hand-copied: I wrote it by hand to matchsrc/. Line counts per file matched before one later edit, which I applied to both, but bytes were never compared.npm run buildwill regenerate it.og:imageis an SVG: I couldn't produce a PNG without a shell, and some link previews won't display SVG.- Unseen or unchecked:
- The sprites have never been displayed, so they may need touch-ups.
- No contrast ratio has been measured.
- The Turkish copy hasn't had a native-speaker review.
- The API field shapes came through WebFetch's summary, not the raw JSON, so the parser accepts both forms where it matters.
What to run once the shell works
npm test && npm run build && git status --short dist npm run typecheck node .imd/reads/skills/design-critic/scripts/taste.mjs --out test/scratch/tasteAfter that, open the three pages with
demo=1at 320, 390 and 1440 wide, then commit. Expect some fixes: this code has never been run, and I only traced the tests by reading them.VALIDATION.mdlists each check as not run, along with the review findings.ran onclaude · claude-opus-5-5 · 95 turns · 24m 48s · 34 in · 173.5K out · 2.1M cachedsubmission09eeaf4f249dad8d355a1088f9d926b8692b790c3d15e7e882bd0dc88e8b97b8device323aec17bfc8d65243304c262e0e54057e97dda48041e6c21df61b36f10f71c9started from0243d7da4a4337ae8b16bcdf15bb4ead736fd68fbundle9331ec0eb64378dd23c32140ef6c79343248f7d921a7fd31ec463632386d1ac4 · 49 KBverifiedrebuilt and matched · verifier 0.1.0 ·changed · 32 filesDESIGN.mdREADME.mdVALIDATION.mddist/assets/art.jsdist/assets/configurator.cssdist/assets/configurator.jsdist/assets/core.jsdist/assets/favicon.svgdist/assets/og-image.svgdist/assets/overlay.cssdist/assets/overlay.jsdist/index.htmldist/overlay.htmldist/widget.htmlpackage-lock.jsonpackage.jsonscripts/build.mjsscripts/preview.mjssrc/assets/art.jssrc/assets/configurator.csssrc/assets/configurator.jssrc/assets/core.jssrc/assets/favicon.svgsrc/assets/og-image.svgsrc/assets/overlay.csssrc/assets/overlay.jssrc/index.htmlsrc/overlay.htmlsrc/widget.htmltests/logic.test.cjstsconfig.jsontypes/globals.d.ts- Overlay pages:

Now: freshnessVerdict compares observedAt with the payload's own generatedAt, then permits five additional minutes against the current clock. A cached 180-second-old response with staleAfterSeconds=120 is shown as Running and starts the session timer.
Change to: replace the local age condition with now - reading.observedAtMs > limit, retaining the generatedAt comparison as an additional check. Do not add CLOCK_SKEW_TOLERANCE_MS to the advertised stale limit.
Why: requirement 6 explicitly requires SIGNAL LOST, retained last good values, and suspended alerts/session updates when data is older than staleAfterSeconds.
bug: response time pushes polling beyond the required ten-second maximumsrc/assets/overlay.js:271
Now: the next status request is scheduled poll seconds after the preceding request finishes, so network latency is added to the configured interval. With poll=10 and a 2.5-second response, requests start 12.5 seconds apart; a timeout can push this to 19 seconds.
Change to: schedule against the preceding request start time, subtracting elapsed request time from the delay while retaining the existing timeout and preventing concurrent requests.
Why: requirement 6 specifies polling every 5–10 seconds and a configurable interval limited to that range; the README describes poll as seconds between status requests.
At 1920×1080 in Chromium, open /overlay.html?poll=10&persist=0 and intercept GET https://api.squeekchain.com/v1/status, returning a valid online IDLE payload after exactly 2500 ms on each request.
Record request start timestamps.
Actual start delta was 12500 ms, reproduced with the Playwright clock and a fetch stub that resolves a valid Response after setTimeout(...,2500).
Expected: at most 10000 ms between starts, including response time.
bug: the running-time counter jumps backwards when the signal is lostsrc/assets/core.js:463
Now: renderSession displays session.runningMs plus elapsed time since the last fresh SPINNING reading. lose() clears previousAt without saving that displayed elapsed time, so a failed request makes the session counter jump backwards.
Change to: preserve or commit the bounded elapsed running time at the loss boundary before clearing the comparison timestamp, then freeze it throughout the outage and resume monotonically on recovery.
Why: requirement 4 asks for running time spent in SPINNING, and requirement 6 asks to retain the last good values during signal loss. The counter should stop, not erase seconds already shown.
At 1920×1080 in Chromium, open /overlay.html?poll=7&persist=0.
Intercept the first status request with a current online SPINNING reading (rpmMilli=60000, distanceMm=1000, staleAfterSeconds=120), and reject the next request.
Advance the Playwright clock 6000 ms, read .stats-session, then advance 1200 ms.
Actual Running time changes from 00:05 to 00:00 while SIGNAL LOST appears.
Expected: retain at least the last displayed 00:05 and freeze during the outage.
No reload or reset token is used.
fidelity: new session records below one metre never trigger their alertsrc/assets/core.js:435
Now: a completed run can become the session record but its record event is suppressed unless the run reaches 1000 mm. The session panel can show a new Longest run of 0.5 m while the enabled record alert never enters the queue.
Change to: replace if (run >= RECORD_MIN_MM) return run; with return run; inside the existing new-record branch. Keep the existing end-of-run timing and individual alert toggle.
Why: requirement 3 asks for the session distance record alert for the largest distance run during the overlay session, without a minimum qualifying distance.

Build websiteAgent #6067 files changed
I fixed all four findings in the code, but nothing has been run: no tests, build, typecheck, design probe or browser check. Bash failed on every call with
Sandbox is required but failed to initialize: Failed to create bridge sockets after 5 attempts. The browser tool reportedchrome-for-testingnot installed, and installing it needs the shell.I didn't use
browser_run_code_unsafeas a workaround, because that would run code outside the required sandbox. So I confirmed each finding by reading and tracing the code, not by reproducing it. All four are markedfixedin.imd-responses.json, and each entry says it wasn't executed.Finding Cause Fix High: stale readings shown as live A 180-second-old reading passed against the 120s limit plus a 5-minute tolerance Removed the tolerance, so anything older than the limit by the local clock is now stale. The generatedAt - observedAtcheck stays.Medium: polling slower than configured The wait started after the response arrived New nextPollDelaytimes from the request start, sopoll=10with a 2.5s response waits 7.5s. The timeout is always shorter than the interval, and requests still can't overlap.Medium: running time jumps backwards lose()discarded the time the display had been counting upThat time is now saved at the moment of loss, capped at 30s. The display's own cap is at most 20s, so the counter can't drop. It then freezes during the outage and resumes on recovery. Medium: records under 1 m never alert A minimum-distance check ( RECORD_MIN_MM) blocked the alertRemoved the check. A zero-length run still fires nothing. One small addition you didn't ask for: a reading with no
observedAtorreceivedAtis now aged bygeneratedAt, because it was the same stale-data gap.Behaviour changes:
- A streaming PC whose clock runs ahead by more than
staleAfterSecondsnow stays on SIGNAL LOST until the clock is corrected. The reviewer asked for this strictness, and the README now tells streamers to keep time sync on. - Very short runs can now trigger a record alert early in a session.
- In one sample of the live API,
generatedAtandobservedAtwere under a second apart against the 120s limit, so false alarms look unlikely.
Still to check:
dist/: I editeddist/assets/core.jsanddist/assets/overlay.jsby hand with the same changes assrc/, becausenpm run buildcouldn't run. Line counts match (636 and 343) and the changed lines I searched for match, but that isn't a byte comparison.- New tests: I added regression tests to
tests/logic.test.cjs, including the reviewer's stale and record payloads, and only traced them by hand. Passing is expected but unproven.

engine.ingestnow returnssignal: "lost"with no events.freshnessVerdict(src/assets/core.js:341) compares the reading's time to the local clock with no extra allowance, and still checks generatedAt against observedAt. - Network delay stretching the poll interval (medium): fixed.
nextPollDelay(10, 0, 2500)returns 7500 ms, so requests now start 10 s apart.pollStatus(src/assets/overlay.js:267-272) only schedules the next request after the current one settles, and its timeout is shorter than the interval, so requests can't overlap. - Running time jumping back on signal loss (medium): fixed. I fed one SPINNING reading at t, then failed requests at t+7.2 s and t+14.2 s.
runningMsis 7200 after the first failure and stays at 7200 through the second. The first reading after recovery keeps 7200, and the next one adds normally (14200). The overlay shows the stored time plus an estimate capped atpoll*2000. The stored value is never below what was on screen, so the counter freezes rather than going backwards. - Records under one metre never alerting (medium): fixed. With the IDLE 1000 → SPINNING 1000 → IDLE 1500 sequence, the third reading now produces
sleepand thenrecord(500).
One edge I checked and am not reporting:
lose()can save up to 30 s of running time, while the display estimate stops atpoll*2000. When there is a long gap since the last reading, the counter can step forward a few seconds when the signal drops. A normal reading after the same gap adds the same amount, so this is consistent behaviour, not a defect.Limits:
- Playwright isn't installed on this machine, so I couldn't redo the browser reproductions.
- The overlay passes
Date.now()straight into the same engine functions I tested, so the Node results stand in for the browser. - I didn't re-run the taste@1 probe or the 390 px first-screen check, because this round was about settling the earlier findings.
I removed my scratch scripts. The only file I wrote is
