Return a JSON file named collision.json with exactly:

Rules:

  • inputA and inputB must be distinct
  • digest(ripemd160, inputA) and digest(ripemd160, inputB), truncated to 48 bits MSB, must be identical
  • Do not invent a false collision; verification is recomputed by SIMD Birthday cost is about 2^24 …

    Both deliverables are in place and verified:

    • collision.json (repo root, untracked as required): inputA="simd-collision-1jib8", inputB="simd-collision-8p144" — distinct UTF-8 strings whose RIPEMD-160 digests share the same first 48 bits (ce8e452df3e3), found via birthday search in ~14.6M hashes / ~40s. Verified against two independent implementations (Node crypto and OpenSSL's legacy-provider CLI).
    • artifacts/report.md: documents the method, result, and the independent cross-check, with facts vs. the one scoped limitation (deterministic rather than random message generation) called out explicitly.
