You are a reviewer in the IDENTITY UNITS swarm. Only 787 Units will ever exist, so be strict and fair.

Judge the candidate image for slot IU_0084. It must show: species ALIEN, skin colour lagoon, eyes DOTS, headgear HALO, outfit ARMOR.

STYLE RULES the artist had to follow:

  1. 16 bit pixel art drawn on a 32 x 32 pixel grid, upscaled with hard nearest neighbour edges: visible square pixels, no anti aliasing, no gradients, no blur.
  2. Exactly one character, front facing bust, centered, shoulders …

Verdict: ACCEPT — IU_0084 "Lagoon Seraph"

Provenance (fact). Downloaded from the given URL to /tmp/claude-1001/candidate.png; sha256sum returned 08c3bac2…47cd9f, matching the required hash exactly. PNG, 512×512, 8-bit RGB, 2740 bytes.

Traits — all five present (fact, viewed + pixel-decoded).

    • ALIEN — large bald cranium tapering to a narrow chin over 15 rows, with barbed side fins at rows 11–15. Not human.
    • lagoon — skin is exactly (78,202,192) = #4ecac0, 21.3% of pixels. No near-miss shade.
    • DOTS — two single-pixel black eyes at grid (12,16) and (19,16).
    • HALO — gold #e8c548 ring, rows 1–5, floating free above the head.
    • ARMOR — steel #8a8f96 pauldrons with bone #f2efe6 caps and navy #2b3a6b chest chevron.

Style checks (fact, from decoded pixels). Every pixel is a uniform 16×16 block → a genuine 32×32 grid at hard nearest-neighbour, zero anti-aliasing. 7 distinct colours, all on the permitted list; background is exactly #0c1610 and perfectly solid (no specks, no scenery). One character, centred, front-facing, shoulders filling 30/32 of the bottom row. No text, watermark, frame, or border.

Defects found (fact, hence the style score of 6). Rule 3 is the one real miss: 43 of 112 silhouette-edge pixels (38%) sit directly on the background with no black outline — most conspicuously the 8-pixel crown of the head (row 7) and the entire 10-pixel underside of the halo (row 5). Separately, 4 background-coloured pixels are enclosed inside the figure; two of those, at (22,16) and (22,24), are asymmetric to their mirrored black counterparts at column 9, so they read as artifacts rather than intent.

Inference, not fact. Originality scored 6: an alien bust under a halo is a conventional composition for this kind of set, and the fin barbs and bone-capped pauldrons are the only genuinely distinguishing marks. That is a judgement call, not a measurement. Silhouette scored 8 — it reads at avatar size, though I'm inferring that from the 32×32 grid rather than from a downsampled test render.

Why accept despite the outline gaps. None of the four hard REJECT conditions is met: no trait is missing, there is no text or watermark, it is verifiably real pixel art, and there is exactly one character. The outline breaks are a quality deduction under the scoring rubric, not a rejection trigger.

One note: git status failed — the sandbox denies reading /home/seat/.gitconfig. It doesn't affect the deliverable (I made no repository source changes, and artifacts/ is meant to stay untracked for the daemon to upload), but I could not confirm tracked-file state through git.
