Build and deliver SQUEEK SHIFT, one complete English-only arcade game for the Squeekchain community. This must be a real IMD construction job with working code, QA and deployment, not an audit, repository inspection, landing page or read-only dashboard.

DELIVERY IS ESSENTIAL

Finish the job as completed and deliver both (1) the full code-repository artifact recognized by IMD and (2) a public playable deployed site, preferably the standard IMD/IPFS output. Include the canonical IMD job URL, source repository/commit, a README and test results. Squeekchain Genesis checks the completed IMD job and its delivered code repository. Do not claim team approval, a badge or a whitelist allocation.

DESIGN

Name: Squeek Shift. Tagline: Tiny hamster. Big adventure.

Make a distinctive, finished 2D side-scrolling hamster platform arcade, not a reskinned tutorial. Use a warm ivory page (#f5f7ed), forest-green text (#253c30), chartreuse accents (#d0e87b), an original animated cute hamster and parallax illustrated environments. Day is pale green laboratory/garden; dream is lavender moonlight. Clear bold typography, rounded cards and subtle texture. Render the game with Canvas/native code; do not depend on external image generation. English only, including metadata, accessibility labels, states and dialogs. A single cohesive game/site, not language editions.

CORE GAMEPLAY AND DIFFICULTY

Each run lasts 75 active seconds, with three hearts. Space, Up or W jumps; a second press in air double-jumps. P pauses. Mobile: tap the scene or a large Jump button. Keep native keyboard activation on buttons and links.

Add clearly visible orange/red ground-spike clusters, ground obstacles and occasional dream-world floating hazards. Difficulty increases every 15 seconds through five levels using speed, pattern variation and shorter spawn gaps. Every pattern must remain possible with a double jump, including on a 390px phone: no unavoidable floor/air trap, impossible gap or collision larger than the visible hazard. Give 1.8 seconds of invulnerability after a hit, a clear hit effect, brief landing animation and optional sound. End after three lost hearts or time expiry.

Golden collectible coins replace seeds. Each coin pickup awards 100 game coins; score and currency are distinct. Consecutive pickups build a score combo. Display current-run coins, score, hearts, time and difficulty; after the run show score, coins earned, entry cost and new wallet balance. Preserve best combo from the authoritative engine result.

TEST-COIN ECONOMY (NO REAL PAYMENT)

Every run costs exactly 1,000 test coins. On first visit, offer a deliberate one-time button: Claim 5,000 free coins. Do not silently grant, grant twice, or start a paid-entry run during the claim. After claiming, show Start run · 1,000 coins. Insufficient balance opens the coin shop.

The shop offers 5,000 / 15,000 / 50,000 test-coin packs with a clearly labelled Simulate purchase action and the prominent statement: Test coins only. No real payment. Do not show real-money prices, initiate wallet signatures, connect a payment provider, or promise redemption/earnings/NFT rewards.

Implement an idempotent device-local ledger: claim once; debit once at run start; no debit on pause/resume; credit earned coins once at finish; never negative, NaN or duplicated by double-click, repeated finish callbacks or reload. State and personal bests survive reload, with live/practice records separate. Label balance and records as stored on this device. Do not invent global rankings, authenticated balances or onchain scores.

If official telemetry fails during a paid live run, pause without charging again. Offer transfer to offline practice: cancel/refund that active entry once, then charge the practice entry once, so switching does not take another net fee. Discard unfinished-run earnings when refunding. Explain this briefly. No repeated refunds or paid-entry bypass. Define and document what happens if a page is abandoned/reloaded; incomplete runs must not be credited twice.

REAL SQUEEKCHAIN MECHANICS

Live is the default. Read current official docs and actual JSON first:

https://docs.squeekchain.com/developers/api/

GET https://api.squeekchain.com/v1/status

Poll every 15 seconds, timeout after 8 seconds, no API key or credentials; CORS is public. The API serves official Sepolia data. For the currently published v1 schema, use measurement.coreStatus ACTIVE / IDLE / COUNTER_FAULT, rpmMilli / 1000, observedAt, receivedAt, freshness, provenance and staleAfterSeconds. Use settled builder.anchor.blockHeight/blockProgress, not projections. Verify field locations against the current schema.

ACTIVE means a faster normal-gravity day world; IDLE means a slower low-gravity dream world with distinct obstacles. Real wheel state must change actual gameplay, not just a label. An observed increase in settled block height during an ongoing run gives a short coin-magnet bonus; no bonus from initial load, reconnect gaps, rollback, stale data or simulated data.

Handle unavailable responses even on HTTP 200, missing/unknown fields, COUNTER_FAULT, stale/unvalidated signals and timeouts honestly. Keep last readings visibly historical and pause live gameplay; never interpret missing data as a sleeping hamster. Resume requires a fresh signal and the player.

Provide explicitly labelled Practice · simulated as a fallback within this same game. It works offline and shifts run/dream every 20 seconds. Its scores remain separate. Live ready-screen scenery must reflect the known real state.

Show source link, wheel speed, settled block, progress, connection state and measurement age in a compact secondary card. Keep playing the primary experience.

RELIABILITY AND ACCEPTANCE

Use buildless HTML/CSS/ES modules or a comparably lightweight stack. No wallet/account is needed to play and no new contract is needed for this test-coin game. Handle storage denial gracefully; treat local data as untrusted and do not call it a secure paid economy.

Pause when hidden or after a browser stall over 250ms. At 10 FPS the 75-second active timer must remain accurate; use physics substeps and reset timing after resume.

Test desktop and 390px touch layouts, keyboard/double jump, fair spike clearance, collisions/invulnerability, five difficulty levels, first free claim, 1,000-coin entry, insufficient funds, simulated purchases, idempotent reward/refund, mode-specific records, live data, disconnect/reconnect, offline fallback and completed-run replay. No uncaught browser errors or horizontal overflow. Deliver the actual tested code and playable artifact.

Saved seven verified findings: five high, two medium in .imd-findings.json. Each includes exact source citations, a concrete fix, and measured reproduction steps.

    IDSeverityFinding
F1Highbug: storage write failures silently lose ledger changes, including entry debits.
F2Highbug: opening another tab abandons the first tab’s run, preventing rewards and records from saving.
F3Highbug: incomplete or invalid measurement timestamps remain labelled “fresh validated” and keep live gameplay running.
F4Highbug: rollback recovery awards another magnet for an already rewarded block height.
F5Mediumbug: the coin shop blocks controls while the timer continues and hearts are lost.
F6Mediumaccessibility: reduced motion leaves the idle scene scrolling continuously.
F7Highfidelity: the required repository README is absent.

Build and typecheck passed. Unit tests passed 38/38, and the supplied interaction checks passed 52/52 in both Chromium and WebKit. The existing rollback check explicitly expects the behavior reported in F4. A real official API session also successfully selected the dream world.

Reviewed commit: 8d5ec8a9c0800749276e3e9f70bbe92ad5d3833e. The rebuilt export matched the delivered HTML, CSS, and JavaScript byte for byte. Site files were unchanged.

    • highbug: a later storage write failure loses the ledger fallbacksrc/ledger.ts:125

Now: after the initial storage probe succeeds, a failed ledger write is caught and copied to memory, but read() keeps returning the older localStorage value and persistent stays true. The free claim can appear successful while the balance returns to zero; later debits or rewards can likewise disappear.

Change to: switch the ledger to its current in-memory snapshot after a write failure and update the storage notice to say changes last only for this tab; subsequent reads and transactions must use that snapshot.

Why: the brief requires graceful storage denial and an idempotent ledger whose claim, debit and reward are not lost.

      390×844, Chromium.

Start with empty storage and load the game so its storage probe and abandonActive() complete.

      In DevTools set: const original=Storage.prototype.setItem; Storage.prototype.setItem=function(k,v){if(k==="squeek-shift:ledger:v1")throw new DOMException("Quota exceeded","QuotaExceededError");return original.call(this,k,v);}; Click Claim 5,000 free coins and wait 1.1 s.

Expected: a 5,000 balance with an honest temporary-storage notice.

Actual: __squeek.state().ledger.balance===0, claimed===false, the button still says Claim 5,000 free coins, and #storage-note still says Stored on this device only.

No page error occurs, so the failed claim is silent.

A second verified case: claim normally first, then install the same write-denial stub and start Practice.

The UI balance reads 4,000 but __squeek.state().ledger.balance is still 5,000 with runs:{}, so the run has no persisted debit or active record.

    • highbug: opening another tab abandons the run still playing in the first tabsrc/main.ts:34

Now: every page load calls ledger.abandonActive() for all device runs. Opening a second tab marks the first tab's paid active run abandoned, while the first tab continues playing and shows results. finishRun then refuses to save that result, and handleFinish ignores the refusal.

Change to: track which tab owns each active run and abandon only runs belonging to the page being reloaded or an actually abandoned owner; handle a rejected finish explicitly instead of reporting unsaved results as credited.

Why: completed runs must credit earned coins exactly once and preserve personal bests; opening another page is not abandoning the existing run.

      390×844, Chromium.

Claim 5,000, select Practice · simulated, start a run (balance 4,000), and press P.

Open this same site in another tab in the same browser profile, then close that new tab.

In the original tab inspect __squeek.state().ledger.runs: its running ID has changed from active to abandoned even though its engine and paused view remain.

Resume and allow three hits to finish.

Measured result: score 73 was displayed but bests.practice remained {score:0,coins:0,combo:0,runs:0}, and the run stayed abandoned.

If coins were collected, finishRun returns not-active and they are lost as well.

Expected: the still-owned run finishes and updates its record and earnings.

To verify missing coin credit deterministically, in the paused first tab set const e=__squeek.state().engine;e.coins=3;e.bestCombo=3; open/close the second tab as above, resume and set engine.time=74.98.

At finish, results display Coins earned 300 and Best combo 3 but New balance stays 4,000, run.credited stays 0 and practice.runs stays 0 (expected 4,300 and one finished practice record).

    • highbug: incomplete measurement fields are accepted as fresh validated live datasrc/telemetry.ts:82

Now: parseStatus validates receivedAt but never validates observedAt, silently substitutes 120 for a missing staleAfterSeconds, and clamps future timestamps to age zero. Such malformed responses are called Live: fresh validated reading and a paid live run continues.

Change to: require valid observedAt and receivedAt timestamps plus a positive schema-valid staleAfterSeconds before returning ready; reject implausible future times with a small clock-skew tolerance and route these invalid snapshots through the existing pause/history flow.

Why: the brief specifically requires honest handling of missing or unknown fields and stale or unvalidated signals, with live gameplay paused.

      390×844, Chromium/Playwright.

Install this interceptor before loading the game: await page.route("https://api.squeekchain.com/v1/status", route => route.fulfill({json:{schemaVersion:1,measurement:{freshness:"online",receivedAt:new Date().toISOString(),staleAfterSeconds:120,provenance:"hardware",coreStatus:"ACTIVE",rpmMilli:64000},builder:{status:"available",anchor:{blockHeight:"100",blockProgress:"500000000"}},oracle:{state:"accepted"}}})); Claim and start Live, or replace an initially valid response with that fixture during a run and call await __squeek.poller.poll() in the page. observedAt is absent.

Expected: invalid state, historical data and a paused run.

Actual: signal is ready, view remains running and #conn-text reads Live: fresh validated reading.

Repeated with observedAt:"invalid", missing staleAfterSeconds, and both timestamps set to 2099-01-01T00:00:00.000Z: all stayed ready/running; the future sample displayed Measured 0 s ago.

    • highbug: rollback recovery awards a second magnet for the same settled blocksrc/telemetry.ts:120

Now: BlockWatcher overwrites its baseline with every ready height, including a rollback. Recovering the already-seen height therefore counts as a new settled increase and awards the same block bonus again.

Change to: retain the highest settled height seen in the uninterrupted run, suppress rollback/recovery bonuses, and award only a fresh increase beyond that high-water mark; retain the existing reset for reconnect gaps.

Why: the brief allows a magnet for an observed new settled block and explicitly excludes bonuses from rollback.

      390×844, Chromium.

Use fresh hardware ACTIVE HTTP 200 fixtures with accepted oracle and settled builder.anchor.blockHeight; claim/start Live and poll heights 100 → 101 → 100 → 101.

Before each poll set __squeek.state().engine.magnet=0 to distinguish a new award from its old duration, then await __squeek.poller.poll().

Measured magnet durations are 0, 6, 0, 6 seconds, and the last recovery shows New settled block.

Coin magnet! again even though 101 was already rewarded.

      Expected: 0, 6, 0, 0; only a later height 102 should earn another bonus.

The supplied browser test at tests/e2e/browser.mjs:155 currently asserts this erroneous recovery bonus as a passing condition; update that expectation when repairing the watcher.

    • mediumbug: the coin shop blocks controls while the paid run keeps losing heartssrc/main.ts:505

Now: opening Coin shop calls showModal() without pausing. The modal makes the game controls inert and the global keyboard handler returns while any dialog is open, but the active timer and collisions continue behind it.

Change to: pause a running game before openShop(), reusing the existing Help behavior; keep it paused until the player explicitly resumes after closing the shop.

Why: a modal that takes away every jump and pause control should not consume a paid run while the player cannot defend the hamster.

      1440×900, Chromium.

Claim 5,000, select Practice · simulated and start the 1,000-coin run.

Immediately click Coin shop and leave it open for five seconds.

Measured engine.time advanced from 0.05 to 5.058 seconds and hearts fell from 3 to 1 while #shop.open===true and view stayed running.

Space/Up/W/P are ignored because the dialog is open.

Expected: a paused run with the timer and hearts held, as when Help is opened.

    • mediumaccessibility: reduced motion still scrolls the idle scene continuouslysrc/main.ts:422

Now: reducedMotion sets the illustration time to zero but the ready-screen distance still uses now * 0.03. The greenhouse, hills and ground keep scrolling indefinitely before the player starts. The CSS-only motion probe does not observe this canvas animation.

Change to: use distance 0 for a ready scene when reducedMotion.matches is true; preserve the static world illustration and leave necessary gameplay movement behind the deliberate Start action.

Why: the supplied reduced-motion check requires nonessential endless motion to stop for visitors who request reduced motion.

      390×844, Chromium with context reducedMotion:"reduce" (matchMedia("(prefers-reduced-motion: reduce)").matches===true).

Load the ready screen with a fresh ACTIVE fixture and do not start a run.

Capture the scene, wait one second, capture it again.

The sunflower stems move left by about 9.8 CSS pixels per second and the greenhouse dividers by about 3.3 CSS pixels per second (348/480 canvas scale × 30 world units/s × parallax factors 0.45 and 0.15); the ground tiles move too, while the hamster pose is frozen.

      This repeats continuously.

Expected: unchanged scene position until the user starts. taste@1 reports motion passed because document.getAnimations() does not include the requestAnimationFrame canvas loop.

    • highfidelity: the required repository README is missingpackage.json:7

Now: the source artifact has npm scripts and test files but no README; a recipient gets no repository entry point documenting setup, controls, telemetry validation, ledger/reload behavior or how to reproduce the browser checks.

Change to: include the requested README describing the existing build/run/test commands, external Playwright setup for browser QA, game and test-coin rules, device-local limitations and abandonment/refund policy, together with the actual test results. Leave deployment identifiers for IMD to supply after review.

Why: the delivery brief explicitly requires a README and test results; a README is a repository deliverable the builder can supply before publishing.

390×844 for the playable page; inspect the delivered source at any viewport.

Run git ls-files and rg --files --hidden -g "!.git/" -g "!node_modules/", then search those results case-insensitively for readme: no README exists anywhere in the delivered tree. package.json:7-13 only supplies dev/build/typecheck/preview/test scripts, and tests/e2e/browser.mjs is a separate command.

Expected: a tracked README with the requested operating/QA documentation.

      Actual: zero README files.

The unit and browser tests do run, but their usage and resulting pass counts are not delivered in a README.
