Build Hamster Pulse: a single-page web dashboard (static site, no backend) that shows the live state of Squeekchain, the hamster-powered proof-of-work chain on Sepolia.

Read these public endpoints with fetch, every 15 seconds, with no API keys: GET https://api.squeekchain.com/v1/status for wheel telemetry (measurement.coreStatus, rpmMilli, speedMmPerSecond, distanceMm, provenance, freshness) and settlement state; GET https://api.squeekchain.com/v1/core for chain state (core.blockHeight, cumulativeWork, workPerThousandBlocks, settledThroughRound) and the latest events array; GET https://api.squeekchain.com/v1/economy/state for the SQK token, mining, staking and supply figures.

Cross-check the published SQK supply against the chain by calling totalSupply() on the SQK token contract 0x5501e1fa81be1c3f49225fa7668da0245d07db60 over the public Sepolia JSON-RPC, and show a clear match or mismatch badge.

Layout: a hero card that says whether the hamster is RUNNING or IDLE with the current rpm and wheel speed, a block-height counter with the block progress bar, a sparkline of cumulative work over the session, a supply panel with the on-chain cross-check, and a compact table of the most recent core events with links to the Sepolia explorer.

Requirements: plain HTML, CSS and vanilla JavaScript in a single index.html plus one style and one script file, no build step, no dependencies, no tracking. Must work on mobile width 360px and support light and dark mode via prefers-color-scheme. Handle every endpoint being unavailable or stale by showing the last known value with an explicit stale timestamp instead of blanking the page.

Include a short README with the endpoints used and how to host the files.

The visual idea is a quiet telemetry dashboard anchored by a warm hamster-wheel illustration.

Saved three verified findings in .imd-findings.json:

    • High — bug: Older core snapshots appear “Confirmed,” replace newer counters, and produce false negative session work.
    • High — bug: An unavailable settlement queue erases its previous state and displays the newer wheel timestamp.
    • Medium — accessibility: Incoming events remove keyboard focus from an existing transaction link.

All three reproduce in Chromium and WebKit. The existing 34 browser checks pass. The outage probe’s repeated per-source error messages were reviewed and not counted as a separate defect.

    Website files remain unchanged.

    • highbug: older core snapshots replace newer readings and appear Confirmedscript.js:359

Now: A successful /v1/core response replaces the saved counters even when chain.indexedThroughBlock moves backwards. Any changed index resets the freshness watchdog, so the older snapshot is labelled Confirmed and added to the session sparkline.

Change to: Before committing core data, detect an index older than the last accepted index (and an older generatedAt when present); retain the last accepted counters/events, mark the core source stale with its original timestamp, and omit that response from the chart. Reconcile a genuine chain rollback explicitly before treating it as fresh.

Why: The brief requires stale endpoints to show the last known value with an explicit stale timestamp. Presenting an older index as a new observation also makes cumulative session work misleading.

At 390×844 in Chromium and WebKit, intercept GET /v1/core with tests/fixtures.json.core; initially set chain.indexedThroughBlock="12031000", core.blockHeight="5000", core.cumulativeWork="60000", core.settledThroughRound="655" and omit generatedAt, as the actual endpoint does.

      Keep other sources healthy.

After the first successful load, return the same valid shape with indexedThroughBlock="12030900", blockHeight="4900", cumulativeWork="55000", settledThroughRound="650" and click Refresh now (or let the next 15-second poll run).

Expected: retain 5,000 / 60,000, show stale and the last accepted timestamp, and do not append a sample.

Actual: #block-height becomes 4,900, #cumulative-work becomes 55,000, #core-freshness stays Confirmed, #core-stamp uses the new check time with no stale warning, and #work-gain becomes −5,000 this session.

A separate HTTP 200 response with generatedAt two minutes old is marked stale but still replaces newer counters.

    • highbug: a partial settlement outage erases the last known queue statescript.js:419

Now: When wheel telemetry remains valid but settlementQueue reports unavailable, the previous queue state is replaced with Stale · Unavailable. The visible Queue observed timestamp is taken from the new wheel measurement; the previous successful queue state and its time have been discarded, and the page-level source warning remains hidden.

Change to: Retain the most recent available queue state and its observation timestamp independently of wheel telemetry; on queue failure show Stale · Submitted (or the retained state), its original timestamp, and Settlement queue unavailable. Include that failed subsource in the existing source warning while allowing healthy wheel telemetry to update.

Why: Settlement state is an explicit part of the status requirement, and the brief requires last known values with explicit stale timestamps when a source becomes unavailable. A newer wheel timestamp cannot stand in for the missing queue reading.

At 390×844 in Chromium and WebKit, serve tests/fixtures.json.status with a current online measurement, settlementQueue.status="available" and settlementQueue.state="submitted".

      The queue reads Submitted.

On the next 15-second refresh, advance measurement.observedAt by 15 seconds and return settlementQueue={"status":"unavailable"}, leaving all other sources healthy.

Expected: the last Submitted value and its previous timestamp remain visible with a queue-stale warning.

Actual: #settlement-state reads Stale · Unavailable; #settlement-stamp reads Queue observed 2026-10-31 04:00:14 UTC instead of retaining the successful 03:59:59 UTC reading, #wheel-freshness reads Live reading, and #connection-note is hidden.

Reloading also cannot restore the overwritten queue state.

    • mediumaccessibility: incoming events remove focus from transaction linksscript.js:512

Now: Every change to the events array deletes and recreates the entire table body, including an event link the visitor is currently using. The focused transaction can still exist in the response but keyboard focus falls to BODY.

Change to: Update rows by their stable block/log or transaction/log identity, preserving the focused link node when its event is retained. If an event is removed, move focus deliberately to a remaining event link or the existing events control.

Why: Automatic data refresh must not interrupt the keyboard user’s current interaction; pressing Enter should still open the transaction they selected.

At 390×844 in Chromium and WebKit, load tests/fixtures.json.core and focus the first .event-link with the keyboard.

For the next automatic 15-second poll, prepend a copy of the newest event with blockNumber increased by 1, a later blockTimestamp, and transactionHash="0x"+"ab" repeated 32 times; keep all existing events, including the focused one.

Advance the browser clock 15 seconds and wait for refresh completion.

Measured document.activeElement changes from A (the original 0x2b2ae4b7… transaction) to BODY even though that same link remains in the table.

Expected: focus remains on the original transaction and Enter opens it; actual: Enter has no focused link to activate.

The unchanged-events case preserves focus, so the failure specifically requires incoming or changed event data.

WebKit additionally measured zero new pages after pressing Enter with focus lost.

  4. Build websiteAgent #184620 files changed

Reproduced and fixed all three findings. Updated dist/ and wrote .imd-responses.json.

Build, typecheck, 60 browser checks and 16 design checks passed. Delivery: 2.35 MB.

The validation report documents the fixes and an unchanged, pre-existing 200% text-enlargement limitation.

bug: older core snapshots replace newer readingsRegressing responses retain height 5,000, work 60,000, original timestamp, events, cache and chart. The source becomes explicitly stale and recovers on a consistent newer response.
