Work

  1. Posted11 minto the first attempt
  2. Build websiteAgent #18023 files changed

    I've built the site and written dist/index.html, which is what the last check reported missing. But I couldn't run anything to test it: every shell command failed with "Sandbox is required but failed to initialize: Failed to create bridge sockets after 5 attempts". So the build, typecheck, tests, design probe and git commit never ran, and the work is uncommitted in the working tree. The browser tool didn't work either ("chrome-for-testing is not installed"), so no screenshots or rendered checks exist.

    The posts are made up. A web search found nothing about IdentityMD, and X can't be read without a login. So the 12 posts are a sample set with fictional frog accounts and invented numbers. The page says so in its "About the feed" section. To show real posts, replace the list in src/posts.js and rebuild.

    What the site does: it's a single dark green page with frogs in AI visors (the hero, the favicon and every avatar). You can:

    • search the posts;
    • filter by topic: Agents, Builders, Sites, Memes;
    • sort by top engagement, newest or most replies;
    • copy a post, with a confirmation message;
    • reset when nothing matches;
    • share a filtered view, since the filter is kept in the link.

    The page has a title, favicon, description, og:title and og:image. From the CSS, the first post should start about 510px down at 390 wide, so it's on the first screen. That's an estimate, not a screenshot.

    Why it isn't Vite/React/TypeScript: without a shell I couldn't install packages or run a build. So the site is plain HTML, CSS and JavaScript with no dependencies, and dist/ is a hand-written copy of src/. Line counts match file for file; npm run check is what confirms the copies are byte-identical. The lockfile has no dependencies in it.

    Design review: I applied the Better Interface guide while building and reviewed all six areas from the source only. I fixed four issues:

    • The heading used a fourth font weight; now there are three.
    • The rank label wasn't reliably read out by screen readers.
    • Clicking "About" or the skip link would have wiped the current filter.
    • The hidden copy message could have counted as covering text.

    Two things are still open: the share image is a relative SVG, which many link previews won't display, and none of the colour contrast ratios were measured. Everything is recorded in artifacts/validation.md, marked Incomplete. The README explains how to install, preview and rebuild, and DESIGN.md documents the colours, type, spacing, components and breakpoints.

    To finish once a shell works:

    1. npm run build && npm test && npm run check
    2. node .imd/reads/skills/design-critic/scripts/taste.mjs --out test/scratch/taste
    3. Commit the working tree.

    I also added a .gitignore covering node_modules/, .cache/, .npm/, test/scratch/ and *.tgz, because cache folders were sitting in the repo root.

    Not delivered: artifacts/validation.md. Under artifacts/, only this step's named outputs leave the machine.

    • “Showing the top tweets about identity MD” — needs requester: authentic tweets and engagement data. src/posts.js:2 identifies the current content as fictional.
    • “Dark green” — met: src/styles.css renders background #0b1f14.
    • “Theme of pepes armed with AI” — met: src/index.html supplies visor-wearing frog avatars and a hero holding an AI chip.

    The visual idea is a dark-green IdentityMD feed populated by frogs equipped with AI visors.

    Saved three medium findings in .imd-findings.json:

    1. bug: Successful searches also display “No posts match this search.” Apply .empty grid styling only when the element lacks hidden.
    2. fidelity: Fictional engagement appears without disclosure on the phone screen. Label the existing headline and description as sample content.
    3. bug: Share metadata references SVG. Export the existing artwork as PNG; X’s published card specification excludes SVG.

    npm run check passed; node --test tests/feed.test.cjs passed 9/9. Chromium interaction checks completed. npm test failed under Node 24 because its directory argument was unresolved. WebKit testing remained blocked by the host’s EGL initialization failure.

    All finding citations were validated. Website files remain unchanged.

    • mediumbug: the empty-search message remains visible when posts matchsrc/styles.css:475

      Now: .empty sets display: grid even when #empty has the hidden attribute, so the successful feed ends with "No posts match this search" and a redundant reset button.

      Change to: Change the selector to .empty:not([hidden]) so the grid styling applies only when the existing JavaScript removes hidden; the feed then ends after its last matching post and the following content moves up by the empty panel's 130px.

      Why: Successful and empty search states must give a consistent account of the results.

      At 390×844 in Chromium, load the default page: #result-count says "12 posts" and #feed contains 12 .post elements, but #empty.hidden is true while getComputedStyle(document.querySelector("#empty")).display is "grid" and its bounding box is 358×130px.

      Enter "pepe" in Search posts and scroll slightly: "1 post matching "pepe"", the matching Bog Watch post, and "No posts match this search" are all rendered.

      Enter "zzzz-no-match" to see the legitimate empty state, then click Show all posts: all 12 posts return but the empty panel still appears.

      Expected: #empty is not rendered whenever at least one post matches.

    • mediumfidelity: the phone feed labels fictional posts as the best IdentityMD postssrc/index.html:50

      Now: The phone headline and lede claim to show the best IdentityMD posts, followed by fictional accounts and engagement figures. The only sample-data disclosure is after all twelve posts; at 390px it starts more than six screens down.

      Change to: Use "Sample IdentityMD posts" for the existing h1 and "Fictional posts and engagement counts show how this feed works." for the existing lede until real tweets are supplied. Replace the developer-facing About paragraph with "This is a sample feed; these are not real tweets or engagement counts." Keep the compact intro and feed positions.

      Why: The brief asks for top tweets about IdentityMD. Real source posts need the requester, but the repository can truthfully identify its demonstration data beside the data rather than making phone visitors discover it after reading the entire feed.

      At 390×844 in Chromium, open the page with no hash and do not scroll.

      The h1 reads "The best IdentityMD posts, ranked"; the first card is Bog Watch (@bogwatch), showing 7.8K likes, 2.3K reposts and 611 replies.

      No visible text identifies those values as fictional.

      The sample-data paragraph at #about p:last-child begins at document y=5102.39px, while the first card starts at y=533.20px. src/posts.js lines 2–3 explicitly identify the accounts as fictional and the figures as illustrative.

      Scroll past all twelve cards to see the disclosure.

      Expected: the initial phone screen identifies the sample data without requiring a scroll or a visit to About.

    • mediumbug: the share image uses SVG, which X cards cannot displaysrc/index.html:13

      Now: Both og:image and twitter:image point to ./og-image.svg while twitter:card requests a large-image card. The asset exists and passes taste@1's metadata-presence check, but its SVG format is unsupported by X cards.

      Change to: Rasterize the existing artwork as a 1200×630 PNG, serve it as image/png, and change both image metadata values to ./og-image.png; preserve the existing illustration and relative-URL convention.

      Why: A site about tweets should have a usable share preview. X's published card-format contract excludes SVG; this is a format defect in the repository rather than a hosting or domain requirement.

      At 1440×900 (also independent of viewport), open the page and inspect document.querySelector('meta[name="twitter:image"]').content and document.querySelector('meta[property="og:image"]').content: both are "./og-image.svg".

      Open that asset: src/og-image.svg line 1 is an SVG document with width="1200" and height="630", not PNG/JPEG/WebP/GIF data.

      Compare the twitter:image format contract in X's archived primary documentation, https://web.archive.org/web/20260204074639/https://developer.x.com/en/docs/x-for-websites/cards/overview/summary-card-with-large-image (twitter:image row): SVG is unsupported.

      Expected: a supported raster image.

      This verifies incompatibility against the published contract; no live-domain crawler or public post was used.
