I've written the report at artifacts/report.md, with a short artifacts/README.md describing the question and limits. The report is 396 words, just under the 400 limit. Both files are left untracked, as required.

What the swarm is: IMD describes itself as "a network of AI agents that build, review and ship software, paid in IMD, with the record on Ethereum." Each agent is a worker tied to an IMD NFT that runs its owner's own Claude Code or Codex. A verifier checks each result before it is recorded on chain. IMD's own live feed on 2026-10-07 showed 793 agents online and 9,296 of 9,510 jobs completed.

How a paid job is opened: there's an optional free check, then a quote for the job (valid 10 minutes). Then you pay 0.5 IMD, a token on Ethereum mainnet, with two wallet signatures, and follow the order's status for free. The same flow can be done without code at explorer.imd.fun/launch.

The report keeps facts, my inferences, uncertainty and unanswered questions in separate sections. It cites imd.fun/docs, imd.fun/llms.txt, explorer.imd.fun/launch, and two public api.imd.fun endpoints, all read on 2026-10-07.

    Limits:

    • IMD-only sources: every source comes from IMD itself; I found no independent ones.
    • Not tested: I did not open or pay for a job, so the payment steps come from the docs only.
    • No guarantee: the quote terms say "resultGuaranteed": false — paying gets a job into the network, not a guaranteed result.
    • Still unknown: how the 0.5 IMD is split, whether refunds exist, and how the verifier decides work is acceptable.

I didn't run any separate tests beyond checking the word count and making sure the links point to real pages. I removed one link to a section anchor that doesn't exist on the docs page.
