Build websiteAgent #112223 files changed
I've built the missed-call text-back generator. It's one static page in
dist/(relative asset URLs) with the source next to it, and every check I could run passed except one I left on purpose and one that couldn't run here. Not committed. This machine has no git identity, and I'm not allowed to touch
.git/to set one. So all 23 files are staged but not committed. They add up to about 506 KB, and nonode_modulesare included. What the page does
- Cost: you pick a trade, enter job value, missed calls per week and close rate, and see monthly and yearly lost revenue and jobs lost per month, with the formula written out. For the default roofing numbers it shows $49,400 a month.
- Sell lines: an example line ("if a fast text-back saves just 1 in 4 of those jobs, that's $12,350 back every month") and buttons that lead to the messages. The 1-in-4 figure is labelled as an example; there are no made-up statistics or testimonials.
- Messages for each trade, in a friendly or direct tone: an instant text-back, a 5-step sequence over 7 days (3 texts and 2 emails with subject lines), and a booking reply offering two time slots. The wording names the actual problem: roof leak, burst pipe, no-heat call, tenant repair.
- Copy buttons: one per message plus "Copy all 5 steps". Messages show character and SMS counts. You can optionally add a business name, your name and a booking link to fill them in.
- Rest of the brief: quick-start note, short what's-included list, mobile-first layout, title, favicon, description, og:title and a 1200×630 share image.
- Docs:
README.md(install, preview, rebuild, results),DESIGN.md, and the design review inartifacts/validation.md.
Checks
- Typecheck and production build (
npm run build): passed. - Unit tests: 14/14 passed. They cover the maths, parsing, and all 8 trade-and-tone message sets.
- Browser walk in Chromium at 320, 390 and 1440 wide: 63/63 passed. It covered every input, error state, tone switch, copy-to-clipboard, the scroll link and keyboard use, with no console errors and no sideways scrolling. At 390 wide the first screen shows the headline, the one-line description and the calculator.
- Design probe: 15/16. The one failure is the em dash in "LeadNest — The Playbook". I kept it because it's the exact name in the brief.
- Not tested: Safari/WebKit (it couldn't launch on this machine because of missing system libraries), a real phone, a screen reader, and browser zoom.
Decisions for you
- Playbook link: the brief didn't give its address, so the footer names the Playbook without a link. To add it without rebuilding, paste the full
https://address into<meta name="leadnest-playbook-url">indist/index.html(also inindex.htmlso future builds keep it). I checked that a link appears once it's set. - Share image address:
og:imagepoints to./og.png. Some link-preview services need a full URL, so change it to the hosted address once the site has one.
Not delivered: artifacts/validation.md. Under artifacts/, only this step's named outputs leave the machine.

The site works and has no high-severity problems. I found two medium issues and one low one, all written to
.imd-findings.json. I changed no other file.Area Count Brief requirements 21 listed: 18 met, 0 missing, 0 faked, 2 after review, 1 needs the requester. One met item, the loss output, is only partly met (finding 2). Broken features 0 (1 medium bug: the SMS count is wrong) Product on the first screen at 390 yes: the trade picker and the job-value input are visible taste@1 15/16 passed. The one failure is an em dash, and it comes from the product name the brief gives: "LeadNest — The Playbook". The brief wins, so it is not a finding. Copy findings 1 (the loss section leaves out "slow follow-up") Share card yes: title, favicon, og:title, og:image and description Requirements
- "trade (roofing, plumbing, HVAC, property services)": met. Four radio tiles in
fieldset.choice-group,src/App.tsx:122. - "average job value, missed calls per week, and close rate": met. Three
NumberFields,src/App.tsx:142-170, with inline errors that I tested. - "monthly and yearly revenue lost to missed calls and slow follow-up, shown in plain numbers": met for missed calls.
dl.statsshows $49,400 a month and $592,800 a year on the defaults. The section never mentions slow follow-up (finding 2). - "copy-ready instant text-back message for that trade": met.
#tb-titlecard with a Copy button; it copied and the screen-reader message was announced in Chromium. - "5-step follow-up sequence of texts and emails over 7 days": met.
ol.sequenceruns Day 0, 1, 2, 4 and 7, mixing texts and emails. - "written for that trade and tone (friendly or direct)": met.
src/messages.tshas two versions of every message for each of the four trades. - "appointment-booking reply": met.
#book-titlecard. - "roof leak, burst pipe, no-heat call, tenant repair" (trade-specific wording): met. Used in the trade tiles and the message bodies.
- "Do not use generic filler": met. The messages give specific advice (shut the main valve, tarp the roof, insurance deadlines).
- "Mobile friendly": met. No horizontal scroll at 320, 390 or 1440.
- "no login": met. Nothing asks for an account; the header says "Free, no login".
- "one clean page": met.
- "copy buttons": met. One per message, plus "Copy all 5 steps".
- "short quick-start note at the top": met.
p.quickstart. - "footer line linking to 'LeadNest — The Playbook'": needs the requester: the Playbook's URL. The name shows as plain text until the
leadnest-playbook-urlmeta inindex.htmlis filled in. - "plain headline": met. "Missed calls are missed jobs".
- "short what's-included list": met.
.included. - "screenshot-friendly layout for listing images": met, but at 1440 the messages section has a gap (finding 3).
- "Static, runs in the browser, no wallet, no backend": met. Vite static export; the footer says nothing typed is sent anywhere.
- "small hosted web tool": after review.
- "Fast": after review, since it can only be measured once hosted.
The idea: a calculator that turns missed calls into one dollar figure, then hands over the texts that win the jobs back. The design is a single orange accent on navy, with nothing competing with it.
Findings
- Medium, bug: the SMS count is wrong when a business name has a curly apostrophe (
src/App.tsx:13). iPhones type ’ by default, so "Mike’s Roofing" makes the text-back 4 SMS while the page says "232 characters, 2 SMS". The fix is to count 70/67 characters per SMS when the text has a non-ASCII character, or to straighten quotes inresolveSender(). - Medium, fidelity: the loss section names only missed calls (
src/App.tsx:261). The brief says "missed calls and slow follow-up", and the words follow-up, reply and slow don't appear anywhere in#cost. The fix is a heading change to "What missed calls and slow replies cost you" plus a reworded formula line; the math stays the same. - **Lo

Now: smsSegments() always assumes GSM-7 (160 per single SMS, 153 per part), so the note under each text is wrong once a typed field adds a non-GSM character. iOS turns on Smart Punctuation by default, so typing Mike's Roofing in the Business name field gives a curly ’, which switches the whole message to UCS-2 (70 per single SMS, 67 per part).
Change to: if /[^\x00-\x7F]/.test(text), count 70 for one SMS and ceil(length/67) for more, otherwise keep 160/153. Or replace ’ ‘ “ ” with ' and " in resolveSender() (src/messages.ts) so the messages stay plain ASCII, as the comment at the top of messages.ts intends.
Why: the brief asks for texts 'ready to paste into your phone or CRM'. An owner who trims a text to fit 2 SMS still pays for 4 per lead.
Width 390, Chromium.
Open the page, open 'Add your name and booking link (optional)', type Business name = Mike’s Roofing (with the curly apostrophe iOS inserts) and first name = Mike.
Expected: the text-back count shows 4 SMS.
Actual: '232 characters, 2 SMS'.
Measured: the message is 232 characters and contains the non-GSM character ’, so UCS-2 needs ceil(232/67) = 4 segments.
fidelity: the loss section names only missed calls, but the brief asks for the cost of 'missed calls and slow follow-up'src/App.tsx:261
Now: the heading, the hero button ('See what missed calls cost me') and the formula line only talk about missed calls. Nothing on the page says the loss also covers callers who were never followed up, which the brief names.
Change to: heading 'What missed calls and slow replies cost you'; in the formula paragraph (line 280-281) replace 'Every caller who hears voicemail and rings the next company on the list is one of them.' with 'Every caller who hits voicemail, gets no reply in minutes and rings the next company is one of them.' The math stays the same, because the model already assumes nobody followed up.
Why: the brief's output (1) is 'monthly and yearly revenue lost to missed calls and slow follow-up, shown in plain numbers'. That second cause is also what the text-back and the 7-day sequence are there to fix, so naming it is what sells them.
Width 390 or 1440.
Load the page with the defaults (Roofing, $9,500, 4 a week, 30%) and scroll to #cost.
It shows 'What missed calls cost you', $49,400 a month and $592,800 a year, and the formula line only mentions voicemail.
The words 'follow-up' or 'reply' do not appear anywhere in section#cost (checked in the DOM).
taste: at 1440 the replies column ends 1,376px before the sequence and leaves an empty columnsrc/styles.css:807
Now: on desktop the text-back and booking cards sit in the left grid column and end at the 'Copy booking reply' button. The 5-step sequence keeps going on the right, so most of the left half of the messages section is blank.
Change to: in the @media (min-width: 60rem) block, add .scripts-replies { position: sticky; top: var(--space-6); align-self: start; }. The two copy-ready replies then stay next to the sequence as it scrolls. No new element is needed.
Why: the brief asks for 'a screenshot-friendly layout for listing images'. A desktop capture of the messages shows half a page of blank space beside the sequence.
Width 1440, Chromium, default inputs.
Measured: the last card in .scripts-replies ends at y=2144 and the last step in .scripts-sequence ends at y=3520, so the left column is blank for 1,376px.
The full-page screenshot (test/scratch/taste/shots/1440-full.png) shows the same.
