Build an English-language browser game called “Squeek Wheel Oracle” for the Squeekchain community.

Existing prototype and visual reference: https://squeek-wheel-oracle.netlify.app

This is my prototype. Preserve its dark forest-green background, lime accents, animated hamster wheel, prediction gameplay and boss progression. Build a genuinely playable game, not a landing page or read-only dashboard.

CORE GAME

Players predict whether the real hamster’s measured activity over a clearly defined future time window will finish UNDER or AT/OVER an announced target.

Use a documented official Squeekchain API or verified public on-chain data source. Research the official documentation and verify the actual endpoints, contracts, units and update frequency before implementing. Do not invent APIs, contract addresses or telemetry.

Prefer cumulative wheel work or distance if available. Use differences between valid cumulative readings to measure activity over the game window. If distance is not available, use the actual supported metric and label its units correctly. Do not convert work into distance without a documented conversion.

Before each round, display:

  • the metric, target and measurement-window duration;
  • data source and freshness;
  • the algorithm’s prediction;
  • the player's UNDER and AT/OVER choices.

Lock the player's prediction before the measurement window starts. Freeze the target for the whole round. Settle only after receiving valid source readings covering the window. Explain the settlement rule in the UI. Equality counts as AT/OVER.

Handle stale data, unavailable APIs, counter resets and missing observations explicitly. Void unverifiable rounds without awarding points or dealing damage. Never silently replace real data with random values. If only a simulated demo can be implemented, label it clearly as DEMO and state that live integration is incomplete.

GAMEPLAY

  • Correct prediction: 100 points and 20 damage to the Vacuum of the Void boss.
  • Consecutive correct forecasts add 10 bonus points per additional win, capped at 50 bonus points.
  • Incorrect prediction: zero points and streak reset.
  • Five correct predictions defeat a 100-HP boss; a new boss then appears.
  • Explainable algorithm opponent: use recent completed windows with the same metric and duration. Never expose future outcomes to the algorithm. Label it a statistical baseline, not an LLM.
  • Animated hamster wheel, round history, score, streak, boss count, short narrative event messages, optional sound and JSON export.
  • Save single-player progress locally and clearly disclose that browser scores are not tamper-proof.
  • Responsive desktop/mobile layout and keyboard-accessible controls.

DATA AND SAFETY

Show source links, last successful update time and clear LIVE / STALE / OFFLINE / DEMO status.

No real-money betting, token launch, wallet transactions, approvals, paid rewards or unnecessary wallet connection.

Do not claim official Squeekchain affiliation or guaranteed Genesis eligibility.

Do not expose secrets in client code.

Do not copy another community project's design or implementation.

DELIVERABLES

A working website hosted through this IMD job, with source code and a short README describing the verified data source, settlement rules, limitations and tests.

Test the game flow, scoring, boss damage, reload persistence, mobile layout and unavailable-data behavior.

If an essential integration cannot be completed, document it honestly rather than pretending it works.

  3. Design criticAgent #1457found 2 medium, 1 low

The game is real and playable, and its live data comes from the official Squeekchain API. I found two medium bugs in the live feed and one low accessibility issue, all written to .imd-findings.json. Nothing is high and no source files were changed. I could only test in Chromium: the WebKit (Safari) browser would not install on this machine, so iPhone behaviour is untested.

    Requirements

    • Real data source (official documented API, verified units): met. src/evidence.ts:3-4 uses api.squeekchain.com/v1 /status and /measurement/runs; I checked both against the real responses.
    • "Prefer cumulative wheel work…", no conversion to distance: met. The unit is accepted wheel-magnet passages, labelled "units".
    • "differences between valid cumulative readings": met (windowEvidence, evidence.ts:109-121).
    • Before each round, show metric, target and duration: met (.target-row, App.tsx:173).
    • Show source and freshness: met (.source-line, App.tsx:186).
    • Show the algorithm's prediction: met (.baseline-call, App.tsx:185).
    • UNDER and AT/OVER choices: met (App.tsx:174-177).
    • Lock before the window starts: met. The window opens 3 s after locking (domain.ts:51).
    • Freeze the target: met. It is fixed in the draft when the round is prepared.
    • Settle only on valid readings covering the window: met (App.tsx:64-69).
    • Explain settlement; equality is AT/OVER: met (the .rules section, the help dialog, domain.ts:33).
    • Stale, unavailable, counter-reset and missing data; void without score: met (useSource.ts:74, App.tsx:60-68, completeRound).
    • No random stand-in data; demo clearly labelled DEMO: met. The demo has its own banner and DEMO badge and is never swapped in automatically.
    • Scoring (100 points, +10 streak bonus capped at 50, a miss resets) and boss (20 damage, 5 wins, new boss): met. I played a demo round: +100 points, boss at 80/100 HP.
    • Baseline uses only past windows and is labelled "statistical baseline, not an LLM": met (domain.ts:36-41, App.tsx:202).
    • Wheel animation, history, score, streak, boss count, narrative messages, sound, JSON export: met.
    • Local save and "not tamper-proof" notice: met (.save-line). Score and demo mode survived a reload.
    • Responsive layout: met. The probe found no horizontal scroll at 320, 390 or 1440.
    • Keyboard-accessible controls: met. All controls are native buttons and selects; the mode switch has a low accessibility finding.
    • Source links, last update time, and LIVE / STALE / OFFLINE / DEMO status: partly met because of a bug. On a healthy feed the badge flips to SYNCING about every 10 s.
    • No betting, wallet or affiliation claims, and no secrets in the client: met (footer).
    • Hosting: after review.
    • Source code and a README covering source, rules, limitations and tests: met (README.md).
    • Tests for game flow, scoring, reload, mobile and unavailable data: met (tests/, artifacts/validation.md). Reload persistence is partly met because of a bug: every reload re-reads the whole archive, and a measuring round will be voided once that read outlasts the 120 s grace.

The one idea: a real hamster's wheel against the Vacuum of the Void, carried by a single lime-on-forest-green wheel.

    Findings

    1. Medium bug: the status flickers on a healthy feed (src/useSource.ts:75). Whenever a poll is reading a page of new passages, the status falls through to SYNCING. For about 1 s the lock button is di

    • mediumbug: on a healthy feed the status flips from LIVE to SYNCING about every 10 s, which disables the lock button and pushes the panel downsrc/useSource.ts:75

Now: after the first catch-up, every routine poll that returns a page with new passages sets evidence.caughtUp=false. evidenceFresh() then returns false, so neither branch at useSource.ts:74-75 runs and the raw status 'SYNCING' (set at useSource.ts:63-64) shows for about 1 s. During that second the badge reads SYNCING, ready is false, so 'Lock ...' is disabled (App.tsx:178), the wheel stops (App.tsx:126), and the orange .source-warning block ('Reading the hardware history... N pages checked.' plus the demo link) mounts under the lock hint, moving the baseline and source lines down. Then it all goes back.

Change to: keep a synced flag that turns true at the first caughtUp page and resets only when emptyEvidence() runs (reset or retry). When synced is true and the measurement is fresh, derive LIVE while the next page is being read: in useSource.ts:75 test evidence.through!==null && now-evidence.through<=FRESH_MS && (evidence.caughtUp ? evidenceFresh(...) : synced), and do not render .source-warning for that state. Settlement at App.tsx:64-66 needs no change: windowEvidence() still waits for caughtUp.

Why: the brief asks for a 'clear LIVE / STALE / OFFLINE / DEMO status'. SYNCING is not one of those states, and it shows on a feed that is fine. The rule also says a state must not move unrelated content.

      Width 390 (Chromium 390x844).

Serve dist/ and open it in Live mode with the real https://api.squeekchain.com/v1 feed.

      Read .feed-state and count .source-warning every 500 ms for 125 s.

      Measured on 31 Oct 2026 22:15 UTC: SYNCING until 52.4 s, then LIVE->SYNCING->LIVE at 57.6, 68.8, 75.1, 86.1, 96.9, 108.2, 114.5 and 125.5 s.

Each SYNCING lasted 0.5-1.1 s with .source-warning count 1, and the badge in the corner read SYNCING.

Expected: LIVE holds and the warning stays absent while the feed stays fresh.

    • mediumbug: a first visit, and every reload, waits about 52 s in SYNCING before live play can start, and the wait grows as the archive growssrc/useSource.ts:56

Now: every page load reads /measurement/runs from the first page of the archive, which starts at 2026-10-26T21:16:49Z, at 700 ms per page. Nothing from that sync is kept, so a reload starts over. For about 52 s the target reads '...', the lock button is disabled, and the badge reads SYNCING. The archive gains roughly 11 pages a day (55 pages after 5 days), so the wait grows by about 8 s a day. Once it is longer than the time left in a window plus the 120 s SETTLEMENT_GRACE, a reload during a measuring round voids that round (App.tsx:62-63), which breaks the reload persistence the brief asks for.

Change to: keep the original origin-anchored algorithm. Save the synced evidence state (cursor, anchor, total, lastNs, continuity, lastSegment, through, firstAt, breaks and the retained points from the last 30 minutes) to localStorage under its own key after each caughtUp page. On load, restore it if the installation matches the current /status, and resume with that cursor. If the API answers 400 invalid_cursor (the documented case), clear the saved state and fall back to the full read. Keep the README line about the first sync's length, and drop the claim that reloads synchronize again.

Why: the brief asks for 'reload persistence' and for a 'genuinely playable game'. A minute of a disabled main action on every load, growing every day, works against both. The docs say to treat cursors as opaque, and reusing an opaque cursor on the same client is allowed.

      Width 390 (Chromium 390x844).

Serve dist/, open it in Live mode, and record when .feed-state first reads LIVE and how many /measurement/runs requests were made.

Measured on 31 Oct 2026: LIVE at 52.4 s after 55 requests; .primary was disabled and the target showed '...' until then (see test/scratch/taste/shots/390.png, 'Reading the hardware history...

      2 pages checked.').

Reload: the same 50+ s starts again from page 1.

Expected: a reload resumes from the saved cursor and reaches LIVE within a few seconds.

    • lowaccessibility: the Live/Demo mode switch is a plain div with an aria-label, so screen readers never announce the group namesrc/App.tsx:145

Now: the Live/Demo buttons sit in a with aria-label='Game mode' but no role. ARIA does not allow a name on the generic role, so assistive tech drops 'Game mode'.

Change to: , the same pattern the UNDER/AT-OVER .choices group uses at App.tsx:174.

Why: the brief asks for 'keyboard-accessible controls', and a screen-reader user should hear what the two toggle buttons choose between.

      Any width.

Open the page, then check the accessibility tree in Chromium DevTools: the div that wraps 'Play live 60s' and 'Try demo 8s' shows role generic with no name.

Compare the .choices div at App.tsx:174, which shows role group with the name 'Choose your prediction'.
