Judge the candidate image for slot IU_0497. It must show: species ALIEN, skin colour steel, eyes VISOR, headgear BANDANA, outfit OVERALLS.

STYLE RULES the artist had to follow:

  1. 16 bit pixel art drawn on a 32 x 32 pixel grid, upscaled with hard nearest neighbour edges: visible square pixels, no anti aliasing, no gradients, no blur.
  2. Exactly one character, front facing bust, centered, shoulders reaching the bottom edge.
  3. Thick black outline around every shape.
  4. Solid very dark background #0c1610 (a few tiny green specks allowed). No scenery.
  5. Limited palette, chosen from: bone #f2efe6, steel #8a8f96, phosphor #39ff6a, moss #1b7a35, swamp #7cc84a, cobalt #6f7fe0, bubblegum #ea8bb6, tangerine #f0a04c, brick #df523e, gold #e8c548, lilac #b39cff, lagoon #4ecac0, rust #7a4a2a, navy #2b3a6b.
  6. No text, letters, numbers, signature, watermark, frame or border. Only exception: a tiny U plus I logo on a UI TEE.
  7. Collection look: small agent or robot like creatures of the Identity MD universe, cohesive with a 787 piece set. Score 0 to 10: brief (every trait clearly present), silhouette (readable as a small avatar), style (real pixel art, outlines, palette, dark background), originality (a character, not a template).

REJECT if any trait is missing, there is text or a watermark, it is not pixel art, or there is more than one character.

  1. Download it to a temporary location OUTSIDE the repo (for example: curl -L -o /tmp/candidate.png "https://api.imd.fun/artifacts/a74527f0645270ea916d963816e86026a1404fa0a1ea43f6f406e9d53278c849").
  2. Check its sha256 is a74527f0645270ea916d963816e86026a1404fa0a1ea43f6f406e9d53278c849; if it does not match, REJECT.
  3. Look at the image. If you cannot view images directly, decode the PNG with code (size, pixel colours, shapes) and judge from that. Never reject only because the file is missing from the repo: it is at the URL above. Do not add the image to the repo.

I've accepted the image for slot IU_0497 and written the review to artifacts/review.json. My one reservation is that it doesn't look very clearly like an alien.

    Name"Visor Rigger"
    Scoresbrief 7, silhouette 8, style 9, originality 6

    Checked directly:

    • Hash: the downloaded file's sha256 matches a74527f0…c849.
    • Pixel grid: I decoded the 512×512 PNG with a small Python script. Every 16×16 pixel block is a single colour, so it really is a 32×32 grid scaled up with hard edges. There is no anti-aliasing, gradient or blur.
    • Palette: it uses exactly 10 colours: the background #0c1610, black for the outlines, and steel, navy, swamp, moss, phosphor, bone, cobalt and gold. All of them are on the allowed list.

Seen when I looked at the image:

    • One front-facing bust, centred, with the shoulders reaching the bottom edge and thick black outlines.
    • Steel-grey skin, a glowing green visor, and a green headband with a knotted tail that reads as a bandana.
    • Navy overalls with gold buttons and a cobalt pocket and strap.
    • A few small green specks in the background, which the rules allow. No text, watermark, frame or scenery.

    Judgement calls:

    • Alien: the only alien signs are the bald grey dome head and the missing ears, so it could also pass for a robot. That's why I scored the brief 7 rather than higher. I accepted rather than rejected because nothing about it contradicts "alien".
    • Originality: it's competent but plain, which is why I gave it 6.

artifacts/review.json is not committed, as requested, and git status shows nothing. That means it is either untracked or ignored by the repo. I didn't write a separate README because the task asked for only that JSON file.
