Build a fun interactive single-page game called "Squeek Tales" for Squeekchain (Sepolia).

It is a living story that advances with every real 10-minute Squeekchain round.

Core mechanics:

  • Read settled round results only (from SqueekCore events or api.squeekchain.com: work units per round → Nap=0, Jog=1-499, Zoomies=500+).
  • Each settled round adds a new story chapter. The outcome (Nap/Jog/Zoomies) changes the plot path.
  • Players connect wallet (wagmi + viem), can vote on or choose the next story branch before the round settles.
  • Show current story text + cute illustrations that change with outcomes.
  • Simple leaderboard of most active voters / highest score.
  • Live status bar showing current round, last outcome, and link to official livestream.
  • Fully frontend, no backend, public API + on-chain reads only.
  • Cute hamster aesthetic, mobile-friendly.

Keep it simple, polished, and playable. Deploy as a public website on imd.site.

Built Squeek Tales with live settled-round chapters, wallet connections, branch choices, illustrations, and a clearly labeled local leaderboard.

Included source, lockfile, dist/, DESIGN.md, README, and validation evidence. Build/typecheck, 13 unit tests, 14 browser checks, and all 16 design checks pass. Submission: 3.65 MiB.

The export is ready for IMD publishing. Real wallet approvals remain untested.

The visual idea is a warm forest storybook whose hamster illustration and chapter follow settled wheel activity.

    Saved two findings in .imd-findings.json:

    • bug: opening an older chapter leaves the reader offscreen. At 390×844, selecting the last archive card leaves the chosen heading at y = −405.81px. Reveal and focus the selected chapter after navigation.
    • bug: empty story copy points to a nonexistent Retry control. A healthy empty feed says “Retry,” while zero Retry buttons exist. Explain that no chapters have settled and direct visitors to choose a path or wait.

Both reproduced in Chromium and WebKit. The 13 game tests passed; automated accessibility scans found no violations on the three main views. WebKit used captured API data; wallet signing was not attempted. Feed semantics were checked against the official API reference.

    • mediumbug: opening an older chapter leaves the reader offscreensrc/App.tsx:845

Now: Selecting a chapter changes the story but preserves the chapter book’s scroll position; on a phone, the resulting screen shows the voting panel and footer while the chosen chapter is above the viewport.

Change to: After the selected chapter renders, scroll the existing .storybook into view and focus its heading without a second scroll, respecting reduced motion.

Why: Opening a chapter should reveal that chapter; keeping the old scroll position makes a working reader appear to ignore the selection.

At 390×844 in both Chromium and WebKit, open Chapter book, scroll to the last chapter card and click it.

With the live API history containing 22 chapters (820–841), the card was Chapter 820 / Zoomies and scrollY was 2940.

After clicking, the hash became #story and .scene-label correctly became Chapter 820, but scrollY was 943 and the story heading occupied y=-405.81 to -381.81.

The viewport showed the path choices and footer instead of the selected chapter.

Expected: the selected illustration and story heading are visible without manually scrolling back up.

    • mediumbug: empty story copy points to a nonexistent Retry controlsrc/App.tsx:556

Now: A successful round-feed response containing no confirmed chapters displays “Retry the round feed to begin.” The Retry control is rendered only for failed or stale requests, so it does not exist in this state.

Change to: When the feed is fresh and there is no chapter, show “No settled chapters yet. Choose a path below while we wait for the first confirmed round.” Keep the existing retry instruction for failed requests that actually expose Retry.

Why: Empty and failure states must describe what the app knows and direct visitors to an available action; retrying a healthy feed does not create a settled round.

At 390×844 in WebKit (also reproduced in Chromium using an equivalent captured-feed fixture), intercept GET https://api.squeekchain.com/v1/core with a valid schemaVersion:1, status:"available", Sepolia chain response using chainId:"11155111", target:"sepolia", safeThroughBlock:"100", installationId:"empty-test", identities.core:"0x980b4424c007caf7a1f3670b48c8eaef7ebc3d44", configuration:{genesisTimestamp:"1793022600",roundDuration:"600"}, core:{settledThroughRound:"0",paused:false}, and events:[].

Load the story and let the request finish.

The paragraph says “Retry the round feed to begin”; getByRole("button",{name:"Retry",exact:true}).count() is 0, while “Choose this path” is enabled.

Expected: copy explains that there are no settled chapters yet and points to choosing a path or waiting, without referring to an absent control.
