Build "Squeek Archive", the history layer for Squeekchain. Every existing Squeekchain site shows the present moment; this one reconstructs the past: each Squeek NFT's life story, its merge ancestry, and an arithmetic audit of whether the reported hamster work matches the wheel that supposedly did it. A working prototype has already been validated against live data, so the facts below are measured, not assumed. Follow them exactly.

IDENTITIES. Read contract addresses at runtime from GET https://api.squeekchain.com/v1/economy/state, field "identities". Do NOT use https://docs.squeekchain.com/assets/deployments/sepolia.json: that record is a previous deployment (it names core 0x74665dAe..., while the live core is 0x980b4424c007caf7a1f3670b48c8eaef7ebc3d44) and building against it reads dead contracts. The Squeek NFT collection is identities.genesis, currently 0xcb98349c134ab983da5bfd80527dfe2552bdb70f with 9987 minted.

READING THE CHAIN. Use raw eth_call over JSON-RPC with hand-built calldata; no web3 library. CORS-enabled Sepolia endpoints, try in order with failover: https://ethereum-sepolia-rpc.publicnode.com then https://sepolia.drpc.org (https://rpc.sepolia.org sends no CORS header, do not use it). These four-byte selectors are verified against the live contracts: art() 0x301bd28e, collectionSeed() 0x5752a646, renderer() 0x8ada6b0f, totalSupply() 0x18160ddd, ownerOf(uint256) 0x6352211e, and on the renderer renderSVG(address,bytes32,uint256) 0x4e026d42. Encode each argument as one 32-byte word, left-padded. The renderSVG return is an ABI dynamic string: read the offset word, then the length word at that offset, then that many bytes of UTF-8. Measured result: the genesis collection returns art page 0x0677aCa34747cD8e60f988F75e2f89d5E00Bb27D, seed 0x722cd60a3d3e96a969adea9a7ae78b9b6dad188f4f04a59a26084d887a16d649, renderer 0x50888Ea2469Cc4E619bfcBdc4A7E7d58d4Ddd165, and Squeek #8936 renders as roughly 52 KB of SVG in about 300 ms. Inject that SVG markup directly into the page. Do not proxy it, cache it on a server, convert it to a raster image or fetch it from IPFS: rendering straight from the contract is the point, and the page must say so with the renderer address and the call duration.

THE HISTORY FEED. GET https://api.squeekchain.com/v1/events?limit=100 returns the newest page plus nextCursor; pass it back as &cursor=... to walk backwards. Only two category values are accepted, "all" (the default) and "measurement"; ?category=nft and ?category=account return HTTP 400, and ?type= is rejected too, so filter by type in the client. Walking the whole feed currently takes about 18 pages for roughly 1,800 events reaching back to 2026-10-26. Show a progress count while walking and keep the parsed result in memory for the session.

Event payload fields, taken from live responses, must be used exactly: nft.deposited and nft.withdrawn carry account, collection, tokenId, basePower. nft.merged carries account, collection, survivorTokenId, donorTokenId, level, nextMergeHeight, custody, nftPowerDelta. nft.launch_claimed carries the claim. account.rewards_claimed carries account, recipient, amountBaseUnits and asset{address, symbol, decimals}. account.claim_recipient_set carries account and a nullable recipient. account.sqk_staked, account.sqk_unstaked and account.rewards_staked cover SQK movements. system.settlement_completed carries previousSettledThroughRound, settledThroughRound, activeRoundCount, workAdded, completedBlockCount, cumulativeWork, blockHeight. system.mining_checkpointed carries afterRound, throughRound, completedBlockCount, cumulativeWork, amountBaseUnits and asset - it does NOT have a processedThroughRound field, and assuming one prints an empty round number. measurement.speed_record carries previousRecordMmPerSecond and recordMmPerSecond; measurement.speed_milestone thresholdSpeedMmPerSecond; measurement.distance_milestone thresholdDistanceMm and observedLifetimeDistanceMm; measurement.daily_distance_milestone thresholdDistanceMm, observedDayDistanceMm, utcDate; measurement.distance_streak days, minimumDailyDistanceMm, endingUtcDate. Every event also has occurredAt and source.transactionHash: link each one to https://sepolia.etherscan.io/tx/.

PAGES AND PANELS. One page with a single search box that accepts either a Squeek number (1 to 9987) or a 0x wallet address. For a number: render its art from the chain, list its life story in chronological order from every event whose tokenId, survivorTokenId or donorTokenId matches, and draw its merge ancestry by following survivor to donor recursively, indenting each generation, so a level 4 Squeek shows the three it consumed and what those consumed in turn. For a wallet: list everything that wallet did, with SQK amounts formatted from amountBaseUnits and the 18 decimals in the asset field. Also show the full chain history feed with its event count and the date it reaches back to.

THE AUDIT PANEL, titled "Is the work real?". Poll GET https://api.squeekchain.com/v1/status every 15 seconds and keep the samples. The telemetry field is measurement.speedMmPerSecond; there is no measurement.speed field, and reading the wrong name silently produces NaN. Each row must print the numbers it judged, never a bare colour. Rows: sensor freshness, comparing the age of measurement.observedAt against measurement.staleAfterSeconds. Attestation, naming signer.kind, signer.algorithm, signer.keySlot and the age of signer.lastVerifiedAt. Lifetime work per revolution, computed as cumulativeWorkUnits divided by distanceMm over a rim circumference the visitor can edit, defaulting to 471 mm; on live data this gives 3.015, which rounds to 3, so state the implied magnet count per revolution and flag it CONSISTENT while it stays within 0.1 of a whole number and DRIFTING otherwise. Then, between consecutive samples: distance must never decrease, cumulative work must never decrease, work must not rise while rpmMilli is zero in both samples, and the distance added must not exceed the faster of the two reported speeds multiplied by the elapsed seconds plus a 25 percent margin plus one revolution. If measurement.counterEpoch differs between samples the hardware counter restarted, so discard that delta and say so rather than counting it. Summarise all rows in one header ribbon reading CONSISTENT, CHECK or IMPLAUSIBLE.

CONSTRAINTS. Plain HTML, CSS and vanilla JavaScript; no build step, no dependencies, no analytics, no third-party fonts, no wallet connection, no backend. Light and dark through prefers-color-scheme. Readable at 360 px and at 1920 px. Never blank a panel on a failed request: keep the last known value and show its age. Ship a README naming every endpoint, every selector with its signature, the audit formulas, and the two field-name traps above.

  3. Design criticAgent #67found 1 medium, 2 low

I've reviewed Squeek Archive and written three findings to .imd-findings.json: one medium bug, one low copy fix and one low README fix. Nothing reopens the build. Every brief requirement is met against live data, and I found no fakes. The taste probe (taste@1) passed 16 of 16 checks. One gap in my checks: I ran everything in Chromium only, so how the site behaves in Safari/WebKit is unchecked.

    Requirements

    • Contract addresses read at runtime from /v1/economy/state identities: met. app.js:89, footer #genesis-address.
    • Doesn't use the old sepolia.json deployment: met. Named only in the README as not used.
    • Squeek collection is identities.genesis, 9,987 minted: met. totalSupply is read live into #supply.
    • Raw eth_call with hand-built calldata, no web3 library: met. lib/abi.js, lib/api.js.
    • RPC order publicnode then drpc with failover, no rpc.sepolia.org: met. api.js:10.
    • The six selectors: met. abi.js:5-12.
    • One 32-byte left-padded word per argument, dynamic-string decode: met. word(), decodeString().
    • SVG injected straight into the page, no proxy, cache, raster or IPFS: met. It is sanitised and inlined; #8936 measured 51,710 bytes.
    • Page names the renderer address and the call duration: met. #art-caption showed "0x50888ea2… in 32 ms".
    • Feed walked by cursor, progress count shown, kept in memory: met. 18 pages, 1,793 events, back to 26 October 2026.
    • Filter by type in the browser, no category or type query: met. #feed-filter.
    • Every event payload field used exactly as named, including afterRound → throughRound: met. history.js:228-296.
    • Each event links to sepolia.etherscan.io/tx/<hash>: met. 32 live measurement events have no hash, and the page says "Off-chain measurement, no transaction" for those.
    • One search box taking a Squeek number or a 0x address: met. #q; out-of-range input gets an inline error.
    • A Squeek's art, its life story in date order, and indented merge ancestry: met. #art, #story, #tree. Live merges only reach level 2, so I only saw one generation drawn.
    • A wallet's activity with SQK amounts from amountBaseUnits and the 18 decimals in asset: met. #wallet-facts; one wallet showed "31,321.6272 SQK".
    • Full feed with its event count and the date it reaches back to: met. #feed-status.
    • The audit panel ("Is the work real?") with its 15 s poll, kept samples, speedMmPerSecond, freshness, attestation, editable circumference defaulting to 471, magnet count with CONSISTENT/DRIFTING, the four delta rules, counter-restart handling, and a summary ribbon: met. audit.js, #ribbon. The ribbon logic has the medium bug below.
    • Plain HTML/CSS/JS, no build step, dependencies, analytics, fonts, wallet or backend: met.
    • Light and dark via prefers-color-scheme, readable at 360 and 1920: met. Checked in dark at 360: page width 360, no console errors.
    • Never blanks a panel on a failed request, keeps the last value and its age: met. Resume and retry buttons, plus "Last good sample … ago".
    • README naming endpoints, selectors, formulas and both field-name traps: met, apart from a link to a file that doesn't exist (low finding).
    • Hosting: after review.

On today's data, work per revolution is 2.735, not the 3.015 the brief measured, so that row reads DRIFTING and the ribbon reads CHECK. The page is reporting what the API returns, and the README says so. It isn't a finding.

The idea: a lookup tool where each Squeek is d

    • mediumbug: the audit ribbon reads CONSISTENT before the four delta rows have judged a single pairsrc/lib/audit.js:299

Now: summarise() ignores rows whose verdict is 'waiting'. After the first poll, the four delta rules and the counter-restart row are all 'Waiting' ("Needs two samples from the same counter epoch"), but the header ribbon still says CONSISTENT whenever freshness, attestation and work per revolution pass. Five of the eight rows have judged nothing.

Change to: return null (the ribbon then shows 'Waiting', which renderAudit already supports) or 'CHECK' while any row's verdict is 'waiting'. For example, add if (rows.some((r) => r.verdict === 'waiting')) return rows.some((r) => r.verdict === 'check') ? 'CHECK' : null; before the final return, and keep 'note' rows (a counter restart) counted as consistent.

Why: the brief says "Summarise all rows in one header ribbon reading CONSISTENT, CHECK or IMPLAUSIBLE". A CONSISTENT verdict that covers rows nobody has judged yet claims the work is real when it hasn't been checked.

      Any width.

Run node with src/lib/audit.js: take the live /v1/status body, make it fresh (observedAt and signer.lastVerifiedAt set to now), and call summarise(auditRows([sample], Date.now(), 517)).

517 mm makes work per revolution about 3.0 on today's data.

Measured rows: pass Sensor freshness, pass Attestation, pass Lifetime work per revolution, waiting x4 delta rows, waiting Hardware counter restarts.

      Ribbon: 'CONSISTENT'.

In the page: load it, type 517 into 'Rim circumference (mm)' before the second 15 s poll arrives.

The ribbon shows CONSISTENT next to '1 distinct sample from 1 poll' while the rows below it still say Waiting.

    • lowcopy: the freshness row credits 'the feed' with the stale limit, which actually comes from /v1/statussrc/lib/audit.js:74

Now: the row reads 'Last reading is 13 s old; the feed calls it stale after 120 s.' On this page 'the feed' means the Chain history panel (/v1/events), but staleAfterSeconds comes from measurement.staleAfterSeconds in /v1/status.

Change to: Last reading is ${n0(age, 0)} s old; /v1/status marks it stale after ${n0(s.staleAfterSeconds)} s.

Why: the brief says every row 'must print the numbers it judged', and the audit has to be traceable to its source. Naming the wrong source sends a reader to the wrong panel.

      360 px, dark scheme.

Load the page and scroll to 'Is the work real?'.

The Sensor freshness row reads 'Last reading is 13 s old; the feed calls it stale after 120 s.'

      (screenshot of #audit).

      The value is measurement.staleAfterSeconds = 120 in GET https://api.squeekchain.com/v1/status.

The events feed carries no such field.

    • lowbug: the README points twice to artifacts/validation.md, which is not in the repositoryREADME.md:126

Now: README.md lines 116 and 126 send the reader to artifacts/validation.md for the taste fixes and the design review. There is no artifacts/ directory in the tree.

Change to: delete line 126, and on line 116 cut the sentence 'The first run passed 13; the fixes are in artifacts/validation.md.' so the row ends at '16 of 16 checks passed at 320, 390 and 1440 wide.' The Validation results table then closes directly on the Limitations list.

Why: the brief asks the README to document the work ('Ship a README naming every endpoint...'). A link to a missing file makes the stated validation impossible to check.

Any width. From the repository root, ls artifacts returns 'No such file or directory', and grep -n artifacts/validation.md README.md returns lines 116 and 126.
