Build "Squeek Boss Raid": a community boss-fight web game for Squeekchain (Sepolia).

Core loop:

  • One shared Boss per settlement round. Boss HP is drained by the real hamster's live wheel distance, read from the Squeekchain public API (https://squeekchain.com/v1/status and /v1/economy/state). Show the hamster's live speed and how much damage it is doing in real time.
  • Players connect a wallet on Sepolia and press "Attack" to sign a small Sepolia transaction (0 ETH, just gas) that records their hit on-chain. Each attack adds bonus damage, with a cooldown per wallet.
  • Damage leaderboard per round and all-time, read from on-chain attack events.
  • When a round settles, the Boss is defeated or escapes, a new Boss spawns with a new name and pixel-art look, and a round summary card shows top attackers.

Style: pixel-art hamster theme matching Squeekchain, mobile friendly, clear "How to play" section.

Must be interactive and use real Squeekchain data, not a read-only dashboard.

Saved three reproducible findings in .imd-findings.json:

    • High — fidelity: identical API data produces different boss HP and settlement outcomes in different browsers.
    • High — fidelity: “All time” silently excludes attacks older than 5,000 rounds.
    • Medium — bug: expired telemetry continues showing live speed, damage rate, and animation after API failures.

    • highfidelity: the shared boss has different HP and outcomes in each browsersrc/hooks.ts:72

Now: Boss HP uses distance accumulated in this browser and persisted in localStorage, rather than a shared round total. A later visitor starts at zero wheel damage even when the same boss is already defeated for other players.

Change to: Compute wheel damage from one canonical round baseline and the current public distance, and use that same round total for HP and the settlement summary; browser join time must not change either result.

Why: The brief explicitly requires one shared Boss per settlement round. The disclosure in How to play acknowledges a different product rather than meeting that requirement.

      390×844, Chromium, no wallet.

Serve dist and intercept the two API paths with fresh, valid responses and both Sepolia RPCs with a fixed head and empty logs.

Return lifecycle.currentRound="588" and measurement {coreStatus:"RUNNING",speedMmPerSecond:100,distanceMm:1000,observedAt:,staleAfterSeconds:120}; open clean browser A.

Change distanceMm to 301000 and allow one 4-second status poll.

Open clean browser B with the same current API responses.

      Measured A: Briefang HP 0 / 20,128 and 30,000 wheel damage; B: Briefang HP 20,128 / 20,128 and 0 wheel damage.

Expected: both visitors see identical HP for round 588.

This reproduces from identical upstream state and empty on-chain attacks, without connecting or signing.

Then return currentRound="589" and allow the 10-second economy poll: A reports "Briefang is defeated" with 30,000 damage, while B reports "Briefang escaped" with 0 damage for round 588.

    • highfidelity: the All time leaderboard drops attacks older than 5,000 roundssrc/hooks.ts:110

Now: The event reader scans blocks since launch but only recognises raid addresses from currentRound minus 5,000 onward. Older zero-value Transfer attack events are discarded before scoring, so a fresh visitor sees an incomplete table labelled All time.

Change to: Recognise attacks for every round since the raid began when indexing the already paginated launch-to-head events; keep the All time aggregation free of a moving round cutoff.

Why: The brief explicitly requires an all-time damage leaderboard read from on-chain attack events, not a rolling 5,000-round leaderboard.

390×844, Chromium, fresh browser, no wallet.

Serve dist with /economy/state lifecycle.currentRound="5011", a fresh idle /status, and controlled Sepolia RPC responses.

Return head 13000001 and two valid SQK Transfer logs with value 0: block 12027600 to raidAddress(1) from 0x1111111111111111111111111111111111111111 with transaction hash 0x00000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000001f4; block 13000000 to raidAddress(5011) from 0x2222222222222222222222222222222222222222 with transaction hash ending 01f5.

Respect each eth_getLogs fromBlock/toBlock range when returning these logs.

Select All time after the initial scan.

Expected: two rows, the historical wallet with 1,000 damage and the recent wallet with 500.

Actual: only 0x2222…2222 appears with 500 damage; the round-1 attack is discarded because the lookup starts at round 11.

The same round-1 log appears with 1,000 damage when currentRound is 1.

    • mediumbug: expired wheel telemetry keeps appearing live after API failuressrc/hooks.ts:43

Now: A failed status poll retains the last Wheel object, whose stale flag was computed only when that sample arrived. The arena also hides apiError whenever wheel is non-null. An expired sample therefore keeps the wheel spinning and continues to display its old speed and damage rate as current.

Change to: Expire telemetry against observedAt and staleAfterSeconds even when polling fails; stop the wheel, replace the rate values with an unavailable state, and show "Live wheel unavailable. Retrying." until a fresh sample arrives. Preserve already counted round damage.

Why: The brief requires live speed and real-time hamster damage, and a failed read must not imply fresh data.

      390×844, Chromium, no wallet.

      With a controlled clock at 2026-10-30T16:00:00Z, return /status measurement {coreStatus:"RUNNING",speedMmPerSecond:1000,distanceMm:1000,observedAt:"2026-10-30T16:00:00Z",staleAfterSeconds:120} and /economy/state lifecycle.currentRound="588".

After the first successful render, return HTTP 503 from both API hosts and advance the clock 180 seconds.

Actual at 16:03:00: Wheel speed remains 3.60 km/h, Hamster damage remains 100 per s, .wheel still has class "running", and no outage/freshness warning appears.

Expected: the 120-second sample is expired, animation stops and those current readings show unavailable.

This tests the repository failure-state handling, not whether the external service is up.

Fixed all three findings: shared Boss HP/results, full-history leaderboard indexing, and telemetry expiry. Rebuilt dist/ and wrote the required responses and documentation.

Build, typecheck, 11 unit tests, Chromium regressions, and all 16 design checks passed. WebKit’s runtime was unavailable; live wallet signing remains untested.

All three earlier findings are fixed, verified in Chromium and WebKit:

    • Shared boss: independent visitors show identical HP, 30,115 wheel damage and settlement results.
    • All time: both historical and current attackers appear with 1,000 and 500 damage.
    • Expired telemetry: readings become unavailable, animation stops, and counted damage remains.

One new high bug: outage readings overlap adjacent labels at 320, 361 and 375px. At 320px, “Unavailable” overlaps “damage” by approximately 5px horizontally. A tested CSS proposal removes the collision while keeping Attack visible.

The reproduction, source citation and exact proposed change are in .imd-findings.json. No website files were changed.

    • highbug: unavailable wheel readings overlap adjacent labels on narrow phonessrc/styles.css:119

Now: The outage state puts two unbreakable “Unavailable” values beside a 48px wheel in narrow two-column stat tracks. At 320px the first value paints over the adjacent “Hamster damage” label; 361px and 375px also collide.

Change to: In the existing max-width:420px rule, replace .wheel-row’s grid-template-columns:48px minmax(0, 1fr) with grid-template-columns:minmax(0, 1fr), keeping the existing gap, wheel size and two-column .stats rules. The wheel moves above the full-width stats; the values keep their readable type size and the arena grows with the content.

Why: The brief requires a mobile-friendly game and clear live damage readings. Avoiding document overflow does not prevent text from painting over another grid cell.

Chromium, 320×844, no wallet; serve dist.

Set the browser clock to 2026-10-30T16:00:00Z.

      Intercept both API hosts: /status returns measurement {coreStatus:"RUNNING",speedMmPerSecond:1000,distanceMm:1000,observedAt:"2026-10-30T16:00:00Z",staleAfterSeconds:120}, builder {status:"available",queued:{openRoundWorkUnits:"343"}}; /economy/state returns lifecycle.currentRound="588"; /core returns identities.core="0x980b4424c007caf7a1f3670b48c8eaef7ebc3d44", configuration {genesisTimestamp:"1793023740",roundDuration:"600"}, core.settledThroughRound="587".

Return Sepolia head 13000001, empty attack logs and an ABI-valid zero-work certified roundPage for round 587.

Wait for 3.60 km/h, make both API hosts return 503, and advance the clock 180 seconds.

Expected: both Unavailable values and their labels remain separate.

Actual: the first Unavailable extends from x=91 to x=196.96875 while the adjacent label starts at x=192, painting over its second line (“damage”); the value occupies y=467.1875..486.1875 while the label’s “damage” line occupies y=467.1875..483.1875, so they overlap by 4.96875px horizontally and 16px vertically; document.documentElement.scrollWidth remains 320.

A Range selecting each text node exposes the 105.96875px text inside a 93px cell, which a scrollWidth-only assertion misses.

At 361px, the first value spans x=91..223.453125 while the adjacent label starts at x=212.5; at 375px it starts at x=219.5.

Screenshots confirm the text collision on the first screen.

Injecting the proposed grid rule removes the collision at 320/361/375/390; at 390 the Attack button still ends at y=628.1875 within the 844px first screen.

      No repository CSS was changed.

The same 320px state in WebKit produces a 4.9609375px horizontal collision with the damage label.

  6. Build websiteAgent #92613 files changed

I reproduced the reported bug and fixed it. On narrow phones the wheel now sits above the stats, so "Unavailable" no longer paints over the "Hamster damage" label. The change is committed as 595910d.

Reproducing it: The existing browser test only checked that the page didn't scroll sideways, which is why the bug got through. I added a check to tests/raid.browser.mjs that compares where each label's and value's text actually draws against its own cell and against the other stats. I ran it in Chromium at 320, 361, 375 and 390 wide, with the live API down for 3 minutes. Against the previous build it failed at 320: both "Unavailable" values ran outside their cells.

Fix: I made the reviewer's proposed change at src/styles.css:119. For screens 420px wide and narrower, the wheel row is now one full-width column, so the 48px wheel sits above the stats. The gap, wheel size, two-column stats and text sizes are unchanged.

    Results after rebuilding dist/:

    • Browser test (Chromium): passes, with no overlap or text running out of its cell at any of the four widths. At 390 wide the Attack button still ends inside the first screen.
    • Unit tests: 11 of 11 pass.
    • Design probe (taste.mjs): 16 of 16 checks pass.
    • Screenshots: I looked at the 320 (normal) and 390 (API down) screenshots myself. Labels and values are separate in both.

    Not checked:

    • WebKit: it isn't installed on this machine, so I couldn't recheck the reviewer's WebKit result. That's noted in VALIDATION.md.
    • Playwright path: the one the README names doesn't exist here, so I used another local install (version 1.64.1). The README still names the old path.

I also updated the responsive section of DESIGN.md, added this revision's evidence to VALIDATION.md, and wrote .imd-responses.json marking the finding as fixed. The setup excludes that file from git on purpose, so it's in the working tree but not in the commit. Git had no author identity configured, so I committed under the same "IdentityMD Worker" identity as the earlier commits.
