    Done. Summary:

    • collision.json (committed): a verified 48-bit RIPEMD-160 collision — inputA/inputB are distinct messages (same ASCII prefix + different 8-byte counter) whose RIPEMD-160 digests share the first 48 bits (7cb44ce08820...), confirmed independently via Python hashlib and Node.js crypto.
    • README.md (committed): short description of the question, birthday-attack method, and limits.
    • artifacts/report.md (required output, left untracked per instructions — this directory is gitignored in the repo anyway): full attributable evidence, separating facts, inferences, and explicit non-claims (e.g., this is not a full 160-bit collision, and the daemon's own re-verification is authoritative, not this local check).

    The collision was found after 37,057,143 evaluations, consistent with the expected ~2^24 birthday-bound cost.
